1st time visiting since its on our doorstep and must say we was not disappointed!!! Lovely and cosy very bonnie however it is small and some tables bit close together. Wee hidden gem of banff! Located in the pharmacy above the post office side. I got soup and a panini ! Soup was delicious. Panini was chicken cheese and chorizo, the chorizo was abit too thick and chewy for me would prefer thin slices. I did request no tomato on my salad (2 out of 3 panini salad no tomato) however mine arrived with tomato so i couldnt eat the salad simple mistake made. Service was very friendly and decent size plates decent speed of service and decent prize cant go wrong! Will definitely be back. Didnt have room for dessert so need to come try!

A light bite on a Thursday afternoon. We found it busy and cosy, upstairs from the Post Office (which is currently getting a make over). Friendly staff took our orders quickly. I had a small broccoli soup, with a chicken mayo panini. Most enjoyable. I refused to pay £1.50 for a small glass of milk though.

At first we had difficulty finding Bairds, which is located upstairs in Scott's Pharmacy in the centre of Banff. A very friendly staffer downstairs showed us "where we have hidden it" and we were led up to a very cute little dining room with very friendly service and basic but well-prepared lunch dishes, coffee and tea. I had the chicken and sweet corn pie and the potato and leek soup. Very tasty and the price was right!

My first visit to this upstairs restaurant, for an early lunch. Friendly, efficient staff. Everything very clean and tidy. Food orders taken quickly and our meals themselves arrived quickly. My soup and panini was just right and most enjoyable. Tables are fairly close together, but didn't feel intrusive. The only slight problem I felt, was the noise of the coffee making/drinks machine = what a din! I'd certainly choose this restaurant again for my lunch.

I visited Bairds Bistro today with my uncle. We wasn’t sure if it was at the post office or not as there’s no visible signs that we could see, although we was recommended by family that it was upstairs, I asked someone in the post office and they directed us upstairs. Very clean with lots tables and a multi choice of of food on the menu, the staff are very friendly, I asked about WiFi and they told me how to get on. We only had a couple of coffees, (americonos) which was very good. The cakes looked lovely, although I didn’t have any this time. Overall, it was a very good coffee shop, although the seats could have had cushions on and possibly a sofa and possibly more signs outside advertising a coffee shop upstairs. Looking forward to coming again!

Myself, my mum and my child came today for lunch. I hadn’t been here for years. Previously going to other locations instead so thought I’d try again for a change. We got served by Elaine, who was friendly and everything was what we ordered. Half way through our lunch, we noticed one of the cooks possibly named ‘Lynn?’ leave the kitchen and straight into the bathroom and back into the kitchen again without removing her apron and drying her hands on the apron. now to me that is not healthy at all!! extremely off putting. Me and my mum had chicken & mushroom soup & sweet chilli chicken mayo panini - which was really nice! I’d definitely recommend them. My son had ice cream, as he had his lunch. During eating his he accidentally knocked the glass bowl that it came in and it shattered on the floor. Me and my mum quickly picked the glass pieces up and cleaned up the ice cream with baby wipes I had in my bag. No one came over, they stood and watched us as it happened. A littler old lady who was also serving customers had the worst scowl on her face, she had a bad attitude from the start to be fair, nothing friendly about her at all. My mum explained that she tidied it up but there might be smaller pieces - this comment was ignored by this lady, it was like my mum didn’t say anything to her It was a complete accident and the way it wasn’t dealt with was shocking. The food was lovely, a MIN of 2 staff were lovely (Elaine & the lady who we paid the bill too) But unfortunately I won’t be back for some time. also, the seating near the entrance of the cafe isn’t very good. The white seats don’t fit together underneath the table. Quite awkward. All the best.

Have never had a bad meal in this establishment. My only criticism, is that when you leave your clothes are always smelling of whatever is being cooked in the chicken. A more effective extractor fan, or similar would be a benefit.

My mum and I popped in here on a visit to Banff and we were not disappointed at all. The staff were informative and friendly. The food was delicious with hearty servings guaranteed to fill you up. The bakes looked amazing as well but we were far too full after our lunch of Cullum skink and a panini so we opted to take a slice of Victoria sponge cake home with us, which was delicious as well! Not having been here for a while, I had to ask staff where the stairs up to the cafe were. It certainly wasn't well signposted. But once I climbed upstairs I could smell the Cullen Skink immediately, and that had to be my choice. It was very tasty, although the potatoes were in big chunks in the bowl which I had to pulp down to get the thick creamy texture I like. From there I moved straight on to rhubarb and strawberry crumble, which was served with a generous amount of custard and was also very good. Along with a glass of milk the bill came to £10.50 which was reasonable. The staff were very polite, the place looked very clean, the toilets were fine too. There is plenty choice of paninis etc. Everyone I saw looked satisfied.

I ordered a caramel latte and a peanut butter marshmallow square and my dad ordered a hot chocolate (marshmallows and cream) as well as a scone. The hot chocolate was beautifully presented. The peanut butter square was of a decent size, which suited me fine. The scone was light and fluffy and came with a choice of spread, butter and jams. Overall a great place to stop for 'fly cup'.

Am currently eating the Thai Chicken Noodle soup and it honest tastes like something out of a tin. It is so salty and the chicken doesn't really taste like chicken. It is one of the most disgusting soups I've ever had. Heinz is better and a lot cheaper! There are currently 6 staff and not one is working. All are stood behind the counter talking to each other. One customer even went up and had to ask to be served and there is also a couple yawning in the corner. They should have a door shutting off the kitchen, less staff and the staff they do have should be working. Had the Cullen skink here before which was nice so my reason for returning but after this soup and service, we will not be coming back. They have lost a customer.Thoroughly disappointed.

My aunt took me to Banff and we wanted some where to sit and have somewhere to eat. We asked a local lady were the best cafes were and she said Scotts is a good place, so we thought why not, it is so quaint you go in the main shop which is the chemist and gift shop, and then you go up stairs to the café, and wow, the service was brilliant and the food was brilliant too, I had a Panini chicken with Mozzarella and spicy sauce and a cup of cappuccino, When it comes to lunch time it does get really packed. When you do go in through the main entrance shop door, it is best to ask were the café is as we did as it was our first time. But all in all couldn't fault it one bit. So when we are in Banff again we will defiantly go again , Also very good value for money.

Nice little cafe above the Post Office/Chemist departments. Not really any great ambience, but good table service and selection of soups, meals and "fancy pieces" (as cakes and biscuits are referred to up here!) The selection of scones is frequently changed and for example might include cheese and pineapple or cheese and bacon. Whichever flavour you try, I'm sure you'll be delighted. It's a place for a reasonably quick stop, there's nothing to keep you, but it's a good place to have a lunch or a coffee/tea at a reasonable price.

We found this great little cafe above the Chemist/Post Office on our visit to Banff and Aberdeenshire coast. It is located on Castle Street opposite the TSB Bank and DIY Shop.To get to the cafe you need to go through the shop to the stairs at the back of the shop ( look forthe sign coffee at Scotts). The cafe was clean warm and friendly, and great value for the money, for just over five poundsI had a large bowl of Culin Skink ( I think thats how you spell it)!! a local fish soup.It containedsmoked haddock, potatos, cream etc.It arrived steaming hot with fresh crusty bread and butter, and was delicious. Included in this price was a selection of desserts, I chose Sticky ToffeePudding , and a very pleasent young waitress asked if I required cream or icecream with it,hopefully I asked for custard to which she politely told me that she would check to see if it couldbe done.A few minutes later a large portion of pudding arrived with hot thick custard, all deliveredwith a smile and a cup of coffee and the statement that it was no trouble to change the cream tocustard. All at no extra charge. The cafe also has a larger menu, but after this mini feast I never looked further down the menu.If you get a window seat you can get view of the sea FREE OF CHARGE!!This must be best value cafe/restaurant in Banff. Keep up the good work and keep the Cullen Skink bubbling for when we return. Many thanks.Highly recommended.

Lovely little cafe, run by volunteers. We went in for a light bite. They have a gluten free selection, which is ideal as Mrs B is coeliac. Tea came in a real tea pot 😊 Food was really tasty and reasonably priced, service very friendly. I thoroughly recommend dropping in.

A wonderful lunch we did not plan the visit and they were able to accommodate us. A great choice was available to meet a variety of needs. We opted for the fritters (black pudding and haggis) as a starter to share. This was delightful. The main courses were equally good with mother in law having beef lasagne whilst the Hunters chicken beckoned me. Well worth a trip

We are now regulars at the Seafield Arms as it is so good. It was my birthday and where else would we go for a special meal. This time, we tried the surf and turf block. We were not disappointed as the seafood and steak were cooked to perfection. As well as the fresh local vegatable selection. The hotel manager had to get up at 4am to get the lobster. That is dedication to perfection. Our friend had a sirloin steak, cooked to her satisfaction. Our daughter had the mac and cheese and was more than happy. The girls finished the meal with sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee. Yum Yum. The service was professional and very friendly. We have a concern, what will we have to eat the next time as it is all so good.

This venue has sadly burnt down. However we stayed at the Braemar Lodge Cabins and they were absolutely 5 star
