Great food, choice of 4 currys. I had the madras and my husband had the tikka masala which were both excellent and a large selection of deserts. We both had the exotic cheesecake with scoops of coconut ice cream, light and scrumptious. The decor of the cafe/restaurant is interesting and quirky.

Lovely cream tea, great views, great service. Lovely to sit outside & the toilet was nice & clean. The kids loved the milkshakes & looking at the nearby beach.

We enjoyed a fantastic evening here, doing a Murder Mystery dinner with a group of friends. It was an absolutely hilarious night and I'd recommend anyone giving it a go. The food is obviously vital, as that's the reason you're out, and it didn't disappoint. The menu was themed around setting for the murder mystery (set in Casablanca) so it had a very Franco-Moroccan feel. Homemade goats cheese tart for starters were delicious and this was followed by incredibly well-flavoured Moroccan chicken with cous cous. Some beautiful macarons completed the menu, and we also drank copious amounts of well-selected wine. As for the Murder Mystery, this was genuinely fantastic. There is always a hesitancy when you ask people to either dress up or play a part, but because you take over the whole restaurant, there is no need to feel coy. The host sets the scene wonderfully and leads you through the whole experience. Hilarity ensued when we tried our very best foreign accents to get into character! No one felt uncomfortable by any stretch of the imagination and everyone just had fun. The location of the restaurant is fabulous, overlooking the sea, so there really is no reason not to visit. We can thoroughly recommend one of the theme nights too. We are looking to go back for their famous quiz nights. This is certainly Combe Martin's hidden gem.

Popped in for a lunchtime snack I selected the lamb kebabs which came with a pitta and salad it was nice my partner had the fish finger sandwich which also came with a side salad this was very good I had a Devon cream tea which consisted of two very large scones with jam and cream I replaced the tea for a latte my partner had a coke all together the bill came to just over £16 which was great value for money

We received an e-mail from "Scallywags" listing all forthcoming events, as we had enjoyed all the summer special" foodie" evening, we decided to take our friends to this curry night. We arrived on one of the wettest night this year, as soon as we entered the restaurant we were shown to our table and made extremely welcome with our complementary drink arriving at the table together with the Menu's, without delay our food order's were taken. We all ordered different dishes, my Chicken Madras was excellent with authentic spices and herbs but not excessively hot just very flavoursome and enjoyable, my wife had Chicken Rendang which she said, had a fantastic flavour and not to hot, our friends had Prawn Curry's which again they, said had great authentic flavours and were really enjoyable. We all very much enjoyed the evening with excellent and friendly service all for £10 per person what great value, we will be looking forward to attending another evening event next year.

Myself and 10 family / friends went here for my birthday 🎂 ... full English and croissants etc washed down with proseco bucks fizz ... totally scrumptious 😊 all cooked and served by the lovelly staff. Thanks scallywags ... Will come again soon.

Visited here for lunch and fancied trying something different. The place does like tired, with tatty menus and an unexciting choice. The tea was alright and our waitress was very good, but she couldn't rescue a poor uninspiring lunch in a deserted restaurant that showed so little effort. Least said the better. A baguette from next door made up for an unexpected bitter disappointment, but we aren't alone in thinking this area really is a damp and dull squib with poor hospitality that can't cook.

Food was good, quickly served and excellent value. Not bothered by all our kids and babies and were made to feel welcome. Will return on our next holiday.

We have been to two quiz nights and had dinner - both were great. The food is straight forward and good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The quiz is very good fun.

A lovely experience at the very friendly Scallywags! Our fussy children all found something to eat, good food, wonderful service, friendly and relaxed. Would highly recommend!!

Had a lovely Rendang curry for dinner. The owners are great and kept our pre-wedding group thoroughly entertained (and lubricated!!). Would definitely go here again.

You can't go to Devon and not enjoy a cream tea. This place is perfect. The tea was crystal clear with no icky film on the water, the cream was just delightful and the scones were divine. On a beautiful sunny day I anticipate fault this little hideaway

Lovely little place above the Galleon Gift Shop where you can choose to eat inside or out. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming and our food delicious. A little gem.

Really loved our evening! Celebrated our daughter's 10th birthday there and had the place all booked out for the occasion. Great food and they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful decorating the room and helping sort out a great evening for her. Great night.

We booked our party of 12 for a special event. Jenny was most helpful, sending the menus in advance so we could choose. We booked for 7:30 pm but due to travel problems we had to change at the last minute to 8:30 pm. Jenny was happy to do this and kept the restaurant open for us. The food and the service were excellent.

My parents, brother and I have been to the curry and burger evening and we loved all of it right down to the last crumb! Highly recommend it to anyone down on holiday or local! Just look at the shop door and you will know the next date, get booking now!!!! (P.s the staff are fab! And the desserts are delicious)

Another great gastronomic night at Scallywag's, with a choice of succulent full sized Burger's together with a excellent selection of tasty filling, all accompanied with a mixed side salad, onion rings, coleslaw and chips, all this with a bottle of wine selected from the house list for the price of £20.00 per couple. With efficient service and a great atmosphere this was a evening out to remember, keep it up "Scallywags". We look forward to our bank holiday weekend booking to sample the delights of the upgraded menu.

The atmosphere is awesome I loved it. The Waiters and staff were kind and lovely. Even when the restraint is busy the staff still are extremely nice.

We booked here for a meal for two, it is fairly new business and due to the time of year it was quiet but I'm sure they will be busy come summer!

Great opening night at Scallywags newest Restaurant at Combe Martin. We enjoyed good food, good service and a great atmosphere an altogether excellent gastronomic evening. We enjoyed fish of the day, Sea Bass with Thai Flavours, and Pan Fried Belly Pork, both delicious. Congratulations and good luck for the future, we are looking forward in anticipation to our next visit.

For a new restaurant this place has got the combination of good food and a great atmosphere nailed! Tasty meals at great value, a lovely setting and a really chilled atmosphere. Lovely!

We attended the recent taster evening and perhaps it should have been called a tasty evening. A great selection of burgers, all beautifully presented with the usual accompaniments, plus really good desserts. Fantastic value.

went to scallywags for a taster evening- loved the fun Tapas- the hearty main courses- as a vege, I often aren't offered much of a choice, but was delighted what will be on offer for me. A lovely relaxed atmosphere, family friendly too!

Excellent food, drinks and hosts. Scallywags is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. The BBC burger is a must!

We attended the Scallywag's first Burger Night recently and had a wonderful night. The burgers were absolutely delicious- especially the BBC burger (burger, bacon, brie and cranberry!!).Cocktails were expertly made and the staff treated us like royalty: Very friendly and professional. The atmosphere was friendly and fun and we're really looking forward to trying out their menu when they're opened regularly. A great place to go with a group of friends too, I'm sure. Can't wait to try more of both the food and drinks menus!!!

We were lucky to be one of the people invited to a pre opening taster evening here. The cocktails were lovely - Harvey wall Bangers really brought back nostalgic memories! The food was Wonderful and we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. We wish you every luck in the future when you open, and we will be back to try the full menu and cocktails list. If the rest of the menu is as good as the taster samples then we will be very please :) Its nice to see that the owners are considering what customers really want and listening to feed back to make sure everything is thought of before they open.
