Savoy Park Hotel in South Ayrshire

Popped in to hotel to ask if we could see menu for restaurant. The lady on reception was very friendly & most helpful. Menu had a good choice. Meals were lovely. Served quickly by friendly members of staff. Restaurant is nice & comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere. We most definitely will return!

Just back from having lunch. 2 course September menu, absolutely lovely, tasty and plenty of it and very pleasant service. Will definitely return.

We arrived at this stunning building and were delighted by the surroundings. The room was lovely but on closer inspection there was a lack of plug sockets and lamps by the side of the bed. The room was quite warm and noisy, overlooking the road and we could not keep the windows open for fresh air. The staff were efficient and the food was delicious, the evening meal offered very good choice and value. We found the breakfasts to be hampered by not having a buffet table and having to request everything from the staff, who had to walk quite a distance to the kitchen. We felt that the reception staff could have gone the extra mile by showing us to our room and asking if everything had been good during our stay. These little courtesies mean a lot.

We booked a family room with two beds and a cot. We check in at 4 30 pm and only one bed is made and no cot. No apology or explanation. Two very little children who need to sleep and their parents who need a rest. They said they could do it later. Plus receptionist was argumentative and rude. Absolutely no hospitality.

Booked in for a couple of nights on the way to Arran. Food and service was excellent. Dog friendly too. I had the triple cheese Lasagne which was so tasty. My partner had the loaded nachos, also very good. Great place to stop over en-route

Stayed at savoy park last night . Visited for a gig at the theatre. Lovely character hotel with lovely staff . Room spacious however radiator noisey and shower slow . Breakfast delicious . Worth the money at reasonable prices .

I stayed at Savoy Park for work and would not look past it if I ever need to stay in the area again! Lovely hotel with lovely staff that are welcoming and approachable! Excellent breakfast as well!

Very big portions but not tasty Breakfast was terrible. Potato scone was deep fried and egg underdone Room very small and requires refurbishment staff lovely. Sunday night saver deal. We were told it included BBD. On arrival we’re told it was £25 each allowance. We only used £41.50. At checkout was charged £119.50. After checking they charged us £102.50. The cost was advertised it was £99. The extra was for a coffee that my husband had even although we didn’t use full £50 allowance. Sorry won’t be back

First time for dinner and we went in early to leave cake and balloons and welcomed by Clare who could not have been more helpful and informative. Our meal was delicious and the service we received was fabulous from start to the end of our visit. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend this establishment.

Very friendly hotel, very welcoming. A young man carried my case up to my room. Nice but not huge selection at breakfast but certainly something to suit most people. I just had a yoghurt with fruit compot and some toast, as I was going out for lunch that day but I did hear the waitress taking orders from other tables and they were extremely flexible to cater to everyone's needs at breakfast. A very slight criticism would be that at breakfast, I was shown to my table by one waitress, another waitress took my order for toast and coffee, another waitress took my breakfast order and another waitress served my toast and coffee. It would be a more personable approach if 1 waitress dealt with each table, as this would bring that personal attention that other 4* and 5* rating hotels have, that this hotel really deserves. It has beautiful decor in the restaurant area. Will definitely be back if staying in Ayr.

Fantastic restaurant serving delicious food , Front of House service was excellent, decor beautiful and atmosphere was lovely, quiet but nice background music, quite romantic I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family

We drove past the hotel and it looked charming so decided to stop to see if they had availability for that evening which fortunately they did The team were fantastic so hospitable and friendly made us feel very welcome. The restaurant felt very Scottish and we commented it would be a great room for a wedding. They had a great choice of food we were advised it was a new menu We ordered the slow cooked beef & ale pie which came with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables plus a Savoy Park Tennessee burger.l which came with hand cut chips and coleslaw. Food looked and smelled delicious when it arrived and tasted delicious too. We decided on sharing a dessert was difficult to choose which one but we opted for the Baked Alaska which was also delicious. We could not fault the food, the service or the whole experience it was a lovely evening. Would highly recomend

We went for afternoon tea with Ukrainian friends as they have never had it before. There was plenty of food including sandwiches haggis balls sausage rolls and excellent cakes. The staff are friendly and the service was good. It is also excellent value for money at £15 a head. I would recommend it.

Very nice food in "Scottish" dining room (claymores, antlers and so on). They were busy but did not keep us waiting

We visited this restaurant twice over the weekend for evening meal. We had excellent customer service and a warm welcome. The choice of food was very good and the quality of the meat and vegetables was impressive. The positions were a tad on the large side but at least you’re not leaving hungry.

We went to the Savoy Park hotel today for lunch. Best neal I've had out for a very long time. Michelle is a credit to your hotel, fantastic service and so friendly. Food was fresh and tasty. A hidden gem and well worth a visit if your in Ayr. Will definitely be back!

One of the best afternoon teas we’ve had (and we’ve had many!) Delicious homemade savouries, sandwiches and cakes. Michelle was very attentive. Had a lovely big table by the window in the bar but have been previously and had table in the back dining room with big windows overlooking the lovely garden. Not keen on ‘dog friendly’ aspect near food but none were in that day! Big thanks to all and for arranging wheelchair ramp too.

I had a fantastic Scottish Breakfast, haggis was delicious, and the eggs were cooked perfectly! The dinner we had, steak and frites was cooked perfectly and the peppercorn sauce was mouth watering good!

Hadn’t been here in a while due to pandemic however turned up on Thursday evening on a whim and wondered why we don’t come here more often. Staff and service were excellent despite a wedding being on and the food was excellent. Will definitely be back as felt was great value for money and would recommend for a nice meal in a lovely setting.

Terrible. Made a reservation for this restaraunt a day before, since this was our last dinner in Scotland, we wanted to remember it, and so it happened in a worst way. Stylish, ancient hall with paintings and weapons on the walls, but the steak I ordered smelled awful. I believe that it is unacceptable for a restaraunt of such level.

If you want a predictable (and probably boring) hotel chain staffed by people that do not have a personal investment in the hotel, stop reading now. If you desire an Hotel that is family owned and run by caring, warm hearted owners then read on....

The Savoy Park hosted my mother's funeral tea earlier this week and they delivered in every way. The funeral tea was held at lunch time, and we had all the reception rooms to ourselves until late afternoon. They were flexible to incorporate our menu requirements, and efficient at bringing out extra food and drink when it was needed. Parking is easy and the hotel's traditional decor make it an ideal venue for a funeral tea. I would thoroughly recommend it.

We have had the nicest stay at this hotel its so homely and we just love its deco its lovely so different from big chain hotels you just know this hotel is family run as its staff are excellent the food is amazing never had better rooms clean and comfortable nothing is too much bother for the staff alway there and helpful grounds lovely great garden great location this hotel has just go it so right please keep as it is dont modenise as this is what makes it special and our wee dog was allowed in the room which was icing on cake for hotel that allows pets never once did i hear barking or nor did i see dog poo in the garden place is spotless thankyou for a lovely stay

Was here for a wedding and the weather was perfect the garden was great for photos and for the kids to play. There was only 1 beer available which was not to most people's taste there was a bitter a stout and a flavoured Cider available so not a good choice but the staff are nice and friendly

When every average little pub mower days wants to call itself a bistro to inflate the prices this place was just the change we needed.

We got married at this stunning hotel with beautiful gardens last year so decided for a first anniversary return. Within minutes of arrival greeted with a complimentary cream tea! Dinner and lunch were delicious(recommend the fajita wraps!) Staff as usual brilliant...but one huge shout out to John who was amazing..all we can say is the Savoy Park are lucky to have such a welcoming and pleasant member of staff! See you all again soon!

Excellent lunch we had, there is a variety of menu's to choose from.. from light lunches, 2/3 course set lunches, main menu and a buy 1 get 1 free offer... Attentive staff and really quaint setting, Cannot wait to return a big thumbs up

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and ate in the restaurant on the first night. The staff were very friendly and, as I am a diagnosed celiac, it was gartifying to find that they had a good grasp of the gluten free requirements. Breakfast was the usual buffet style seen in most hotels these days but it was always hot and looked appetising. Again they catered for my gluten free requirements with no problem. We would certainly say that it is one worth going to for a night out or celebration.

Perfect two days with everything we asked for plus fantastic service and comfort. Breakfasts are to die for and all comes with a smile.

Spent the night here after a night out, were advised before hand that Christmas party nights were on during our stay.

I was staying at this hotel and was due to go out to a family get together as we all were attending a funeral the following day. Due to problems I asked to see if I could arrange the meal at the hotel in short notice. I had a word with Mary saying it would be for 9 people (turned out to be 8) and it was only less than an hours notice. Within a few minutes tables were put together and the placings were all set out.

My friends and I traditionally have Sunday lunch every two years on our way to the ferry from Edinburgh.

Went here last night with my family and had a lovely time. Good food, good atmosphere and a nice ambience.

Out for a family celebration for 6. Such a choice of options from the various menus. We all opted for the Christmas set menu. Attentive service had our orders taken. Starters served up and were delicious , onto the main course which was a delight and it melted in the mouth. A short break before our sweets were served which were amazing. We will be back to take other options off the festive menu!

I enjoyed an evening meal in this stylish and welcoming restaurant each night of my recent stay in Ayr. I worked my way through the vegetarian options, which were tasy and interesting and well presented. The service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable.

If you're not at a wedding, so there out of politeness, give this hotel a wide birth, reception is a mess too many people lazing about , the restaurant is like a crypt, and you won't get a drink because there is a private function. Do yourself a favour and stay at home

Our large group had an excellent three course meal, of different choices, all of which was served up warm and tasty to all there. Beef mains in particular was substantial and cooked to perfection. Chefs are to be commended for their cooking skills, production and presentation. Pleasant surroundings and all staff had friendly manner & most helpful.

The day before I was beaten by a Steak Pie but this day I was not! It was lovely and warm / fresh. The puff pastry melted! It was delicious!

Fantastic value. 2-4-1 deal. Most of us had fish and chips. Prawn tempura was also excellent. They have a snack size portion of this for lunch. Food was good. Freshly cooked. Service attentive. Traditional dining space with a charming atmosphere. Will definitely return.

The staff in this restaurant are truly brilliant. They are cheerful, efficient, well supervised and nothing is too much trouble. The menu is extensive as is the wine list. The evening meal was delicious as was the breakfast the following morning.

We were in South Ayrshire for a wedding and ventured out for lunch. Driving down main road and saw sign 2 for 1, That was us 6 adults 1 child. As well as 2 for 1 there was also the 2 course and 3 course specials. Great variety on menu and could not make up mind, settled on 3 course special and happily ate all 3 without complaint as did my companions with there meals. Cant complain about cost for the 7 of us including drinks cost us £122.00. Would totally recommend lunch here.

I came here with the family for lunch at new year. Good choice! The menu had a huge choice to suit everyone. The service was reasonably quick, the food was enjoyed by all, and the staff were super friendly. What more can you ask for? Just great!

Only one young woman to clean all the rooms and bathroom was very outdated so I believe it makes cleaning an impossible task. Fungus in every tile. I felt disgusted and prefered to wash myself in the sink. Positive was staff and the christmas food, which was excellent.

The very traditional decor of wood-paneled rooms and limited lighting provides a very authentic Scottish setting for an excellent meal. Real open fire provides some atmosphere and the grounds are very nice to look out on. Food was very good. Our party of 9 had a variety of dishes and all were enjoyed. Given the reasonable meal deals on offer this is a place to enjoy a really nice meal experience without breaking the bank. We'll be back.

Had stayed here earlier in the year this time I was with my husband and mum.As before staff were welcoming and made us feel at home,our rooms were comfortable and warm,the beds super comfy.We had dinner which was fine and a great breakfast .For the price it is great value and we would definitely stay again.

The Savoy Park Hotel is a well established hotel located in the town of Ayr it is best known for holding weddings and other functions the decor is maybe a bit dated but it has real character have never been disappointed with the food on offer.

Husband booked this lovely hotel last minute as a break for two nights for his 40th, we stayed in the executive double bedroom which is very spacious/coomfortable and decoration is in keep with the building.

Went for a family meal whilst staying in ayr and there was no atmosphere or music in the restaurant and everything looked dismal creating a depressing atmosphere.We were seated in the middle of the restaurant for other people to stare and ordered drinks which were forgotten about.Had to wait half an hour for drinks and meal.Food was acceptable but we chose our food which was no longer on the menu which we weren't told about. This hotel needs to improve atmosphere and mood.

My husband and I had lunch here last week whilst staying in Ayr.The hotel and restaurant are very traditional and the staff are all helpful and professional.We had starters followed by the two for one offer.The food was very good,well presented and fresh.It was good value.We had a lovely relaxing lunch in nice surroundings.Would definitely visit again if in area.

We tried here after not being able to eat elsewhere, and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the place, and the staff who were busy, but managed to be very professional and easy to talk with. The food was really nice and well priced, and the local beers on tap very tasty. We had a table overlooking their back area and as it was a summers evening could relax with a lovely scene and good food.

We stayed at Savoy Park for a night and dined for both dinner and breakfast and loved both meals. We especially enjoyed the roast beef--prepared just the way it's supposed to be prepared. And good luck finding a better poached egg. Perfect! Best of all was the warm and friendly staff who took the time to talk and make sure our experience was as pleasant as it could be.

The room was large and bright with good facilities, we had a meal in the restaurant which was lovely. The hotel is situated about 5 mins from the beach so is ideal for a stroll. The food was very good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend for an occasion.

Go there! Go there! This is a beautifully decorated restaurant in traditional Scottish style, none of the identikit modern style that makes every place look the same. The food is traditional Scottish and delicious! All freshly made and cooked to perfection. The prices are good value and won't break the bank, the staff fall over themselves to help. Victorian pile, with token turret and crenellation, situated along the Racecourse Road.Seemed quite popular when we visited on weekday evening. Not much parking space and those in situ seemed fairly random about how they left their vehicles. We used the adjacent side road and there was quite a string of cars behind us by the time we returned.We had booked a table but had to wait for the Hotel receptionist to finish her business before we could get at it. She led us into rather a surprisingly large L - shaped bar cum dining room. Style is the panelled baronial which seems much favoured in these parts. Lots of Scottish paraphernalia adorns the walls - questionable authenticity in some cases.Nonetheless, the room had a good buzz and all the punters seemed to be having a whale of a time. We were happy to be amongst them on a good table overlooking the pleasant garden.No funny business on the menu; plenty of choice from lots of old favourites. We went for the braised beef and were probably expecting something rather over-rested. How wrong were we. Absolutely spot on; generous and perfectly cooked so falling apart and delicious in a roast gravy. A most rewarding dish.Got our eye in for dessert and I tried the sticky toffee pudding. More like a light toffee cake on arrival but by pouring the ample jug of butterscotch sauce we had lift off. Very enjoyable.All washed down by a very reasonably priced, and perfectly acceptable, bottle of house red.Service during the evening was efficient if somewhat taciturn. Conversely, the jolly owner did a turn round the room and was infectiously cheerful Then having asked for the bill we discovered that we qualified for some sort of 2 for 1 offer so one main course was, in essence, free! Tremendous value.However, having got said bill, couldn't quite see why it was taking so long to deal with the payment, but we were then directed to Receptionist to settle up. Where we were then stuck for another 15 minutes waiting for her to conclude a labyrinthine discussion with a newly arrived hotel guest who wanted to sort out the specifics of umpteen combinations of rooms, prices and facilities for his dates in residence. I admired her patience in answering all the microscopic detail, but it was tedious for us having to shuffle around and watch whilst all we wanted to do was pay our bill and go.That aside, well worth a visit.

We recently stayed at the Savoy Park Hotel and had dinner in the restaurant. My husband chose the set menu and I went for the A la Carte. Each and every dish was cooked to perfection and the service from all the staff made our visit a real treat. My only regret is that I had no room for dessert as they all looked delicious. I ordered a cup of tea and even this arrived with such a flourish and good old fashioned service - cup, saucer, two pots, milk jug, sugar cubes, mint. Definitely worth a visit, or two, or three.

We recently visited the Savoy with friends for lunch as they had enjoyed a wedding reception there and had been impressed by the excellent service. Unfortunately our experience was the exact opposite!! Things went downhill from the moment we entered the hotel there was no cheery greeting or offer to take our coats which finished up being put on a lounge sofa as we didn't want to sit on them whilst dining.The waitress was without doubt the worst We had come across anywhere in the world she was completely disinterested in serving us and just went through the motions without a smile or pleasant comment.Her surly attitude was matched by a male colleague who helped bring one of our courses. We could not believe that this well reviewed hotel employ such staff who let down so badly. The food itself was fine and well priced but the occasion was ruined by being made to feel so unwelcome. Unfortunately none of us will return to the Savoy as there are so many comparable eating places in Ayr where your dining experience is enhanced by good service and pleasant staff. As we have a lot of friends who dine out the staff of the Savoy will have cost their hotel dear as we will not be recommending any one to go there in the near future!

lovely place for a meal only quibble on the 2 for 1 menu is they charge a supplement to swap mash for chips?! why?! i guess mostly to get extra money out of customers. steak pie & mash? really most people want steak pie & chips & if you do they charge you £1 per plate to change it. used to serve fish & mash (honestly) so they were guaranteed a wee supplement each time someone ordered wanting chips. total con. ditch the supplements & people will return

The Savoy Park Hotel is another good Racecourse Road location. It has a regular crowd of locals who frequent the venue time and again. Good food and decent atmosphere.
