The French Patisserie at Saveurs is incredible, with delicious cakes, coffee and bread; highly recommend! We had coffee and raspberry chocolate browny; wow, wow wow! We also had pear flan with amazing buttery pastry; so good. Its difficult if you are just visiting, so we took away more delicious patisserie for later

Sadly, they weren’t open on Sundays when we visited Dartmouth, but were so pleased that we visited on two other days. My husband visited first, chose a cake, which was delicious, and was given another as they still had an assortment left over and it was heading for closing time. We headed there for breakfast the day we were leaving Dartmouth; lovely welcome, good choice of pastries, and when we next visit Dartmouth we’ll definitely head their way. For anyone unsure where to find them, they are close to the market.

Patisserie from heaven. An array of delights which taste incredible. What a special place. The coffee eclairs and the croque en bouch mini were memorable, the latter being a tiny tower of profiteroles filled with patisserie creme and laden with the clearest caramel…oh my goodness ! The raspberry tartlet was also too good to leave behind! This is not a place to go to if you are on a diet. The coffees and the savouries and in house breads are also wonderful, and the scents that waft at the door draw you in…go early, they sell out I am sure. All fresh every day..why ever go anywhere else eh?

We’ve been coming here for a few years and it used to be a nice treat, however today when I popped in for a cake the lady serving me moved a cleaning sign on the floor before promptly using the same gloved hand to pick up my cake and put it into a bag. When I challenged her on what she did, there was no apology muttering under her breath she got me another one this time using tongs. The other staff looked astounded that I have questioned their colleague. To be honest I wouldn’t have been happy about this level of hygiene before COVID but now it seems even worse. This isn’t the first bad experience we’ve had here recently we were turned away quite abruptly when they decided they had too many orders to fulfil from seating customers so sent the whole takeaway queue away. I also couldn’t help noticing that there was no social distancing between tables, and no one was asking for track and trace details from customers that were sitting down when I was there.

We only pooped in for coffee (which was lovely) but whilst we were sat there we saw the waitresses giving each table a thorough clean after each guest. I don’t like to write bad reviews and wouldn’t normally however this is the second occasion I’ve been turned away from sitting inside due to not ordering ‘lunch’.....I completely appreciate the current situation and it’s more beneficial for business to keep inside seating for the customers who are going to spend more.....however not only this the customer service on every occasion has been very rude....as if your too much hassle and feel a burden....sadly being a local I will not be returning....it’s locals that perhaps they need to consider alittle more.....

Had two meals here, not much to complain about. On the first visit on the egg Benedict dish one of the peices of toast was very tough. I think it is normally counter service so I don't think the wait staff are used to taking table orders, there were a couple of mistakes but they were able to be corrected.

Two minutes from the waterfront at Dartmouth sits this lovely small coffee / Deli shop, we sat in the window seat and had a couple of lovely coffees, Bacon and Brie Panini and I had a Ham and Emmental baguette, both are highly recommended. Not wanting to be impolite I had the Lemon Tart, which if you closed your eyes you were in Lemon Heaven and my wife had the Mango and Coconut slice, which if you closed, (you get it !). Friendly staff, quick efficient service, lovely atmosphere and simply relaxing and enjoyable and dog friendly as well. A little bit of France in Dartmouth - who knew. And even better they do breads and food to takeaway so you can have a little bit of France where ever you are .

We were looking for somewhere to eat outside on a hot August day in Dartmouth but everywhere was either full or had very long waits for food so we went to Saveurs. Although it is quite dark inside, we had a good lunch. Was tempted by cake or cookies too but managed to resist (this time). Food was a little slow, but they were quite busy, so I won't hold that against them. Staff mannerism etc made up for that. All in all, a welcoming venue that I'd happily return too.

We saw the cafe from the street and originally intended to buy a sandwich each to take away. However the impending rain storm led us to sit in and we found it a very clean and pleasant place to have lunch. The staff were accommodating, my son wanted his sandwich without the relish which was no trouble and the smoked mackerel pate was gorgeous. The cafe had run out of salad leaves and the lady serving was very apologetic and reduced the price accordingly, but then managed to find some anyway! Nice to find somewhere serving slightly different food, we would definitely go back if in the area again.

Avoid eating-in here! Ridiculous prices, especially given poor quality and portions of food and the rude staff. Expensive prices for very basic and low quality food, e.g. eggs benedict £9, toast and jam over £4, and bacon roll £7.Small quiche was £7, and after a 15 min wait was unceremoniously dumped on our table with humpf and accompanied by a bit of very oily salad. The quiche was soggy and clearly microwaved with a middle that was hotter than the sun. This place appears to hate grokles/tourists but is clearly happy to take their money

Shocking service! I stood at the till waiting to be served for an age. An older lady who had been wiping tables, huffed, rolled her eyes and came to serve me at the till. She seemed very annoyed that I had disturbed her cleaning, asked me what I wanted 'a latte to have in please' This seemed to anger her further (another table to clean!) 'To have in!?' she barked 'er yes please' By now seething with rage 'well sit down!' she said pointing to the table behind me 'you have to sit there! this end is closed!' I promptly walked out.

I recently ordered some brownies and croissants from Saveurs to be delivered, after the almond croissants and bread from a bakery close to me were so bad they had to be binned. (How does an established bakery mess up bread?!). After that experience, I did a lot of research to find a traditional boulangerie, and Saveurs did not disappoint! The entire experience of ordering was a pleasure. Guylaine responded to every enquiry I had within minutes, and was more than happy to omit the egg glaze on some pain au chocolat to accommodate my husband’s egg allergy. When I ordered some other products that did have egg in them, she even called to double check that I was aware that they were not egg-free. Everything I ordered was wonderful, but the almond and hazelnut pain au chocolate were otherworldly, and immediately brought me back to my holidays in France. I wish we lived closer! (Probably good for my waistline that we don’t). I will certainly be ordering again, and I will make a point of visiting for lunch if I am ever in the Dartmouth area. If you have only ever had almond croissants from a grocery store (even Waitrose), I emplore you to try Julien’s. They will knock your socks off and ruin store-bought patisserie for you for life!

If you love waiting half an hour for the wrong coffee and dry cold French imitation food then this is the place for you, after being served by young staff that can't tell the difference between tea or coffee (genuinely had to explain how make my flat white coffee) the management will rudely stare and blame the customers before humiliating the poor young staff infront of the shop, clearly no support or training for the staff but plenty of abuse. Everybody always looks miserable there and the management is cruel and very unprofessional. It's always like that in Saveurs this seems to happen most days.

I stopped off here for a shopping break and ordered a coffee along with a baguette, the coffee was nice until I met the coffee grouts in the bottom of the cup, the baguette turned out to be a warm but very hard ciapatta, both breads are completely different and yet there seams to be some confusion as the menu on the table and on the wall both say baguette, the salad that came with the un-biteable ciapatta was advertised as being dressed with a tarragon dressing, there was a definite lack of tarragon flavour, non-existant to be exact, the atmosphere was created by the customers as the staff kept behind the scenes, this cafe was recommended to me, they must have been having a good day, not worth the expense.

I buy bread here regularly - the seeded sourdough and croissants our favourites - so I guessed the lunch might also be good long before I brought friends in on a cold, wet day to give it a try. Discerning visitors can be a dangerous gambit but I need not have worried. The Croque Monsieurs were lovely the béchamel fluffy and light on top of home cooked and shredded ham, the festive port pie full of herbs with a side of three different breads and the Croque Madam a treat with its glossy egg suitable wobbly and runny. Great coffee too, with hints of chocolate.. The menu is extensive with the likes of scrambled eggs and home made-chocolates for the indulgent. The kitchen is small and everything is cooked to order but your patience will be rewarded.

I returned to the counter & explained what had happened & it was dealt with swiftly. The coffee was replaced (with no charge) & the lady couldn't do enough & didn't blame us in the least. Beware! The eat in prices are approx.50% higher than the 'take away' prices & are not given on the board. They are for drinks (extra 30p ish, reasonable) & for the cakes on display. But the big chalk board does not give the eat in prices. We only had a credit card receipt but were not given an itemised bill. Left with distinct impression they charge what they like, & its quite a lot. The on table menus do have pricing but the items are not consistent with whats on the board above the counter. It says everywhere that VAT is included (when is it not in a café?) but nowhere how much you will be fleeced for sitting at a table. When queried just a shrug & the fact we're eating in. Don't mind paying a bit more to eat in but have never had that kind of surcharge. Quality of surroundings don't exactly do justice to the charge either. Have been to Dartmouth many times but won't go to that one again.

We visited Saveurs for lunch today, the food was delicious lovely soup and breads. The thing that really let this brasserie down was that you could see the lady preparing the food, she was clearing tables and wiping them with a cloth then went straight back to dishing out salad leaves tomatoes etc with her bare unwashed hands, this is such poor food hygiene practice and would put me off revivisiting despite the nice food.

Not only can you order a customised breakfast here but you can also watch it being cooked in front of you! The generous portions are of great quality and the friendly staff are professional and efficient. Plus, the toilet was pristine!

This is the place you come to for French Bread and Pastries, but at a cost. If you can afford to buy then it is of the highest quality.

I saw the wild mushroom omelette on their blackboard & decided to try this cafe for a late breakfast. The omelette was crammed full of mushrooms & cheese & came with a green salad & three slices of bread. It was a wonderful meal. Service was friendly & smiling, although the waitress had some trouble with my Australian accent! Highly recommended for a meal & hot drink. It also offers loaves of bread, baguettes, croissants & pastries.

Forget the chain coffee shop just down the street. This is the real deal. Truly delicious croissant, plain, almond or chocolate. Great cakes and macaroons. Effectively a true slice of France with friendly service too

Lovely bakery, coffee shop that has been beamed straight over from France and landed in Dartmouth. Great selection of coffees and pastries. We’ve been several times and will continue too, just needs to pay a bit more attention to detail. Last week the croissants were overdone and tasted burnt. The entire lot of them in the window looked the same. I could have stayed at home and burnt my own breakfast. It’s more Good than Very Good.

Stopped off at Saveurs early afternoon adamant we were only going to have coffee (to follow our lunch taken elsewhere). Warmly greeted by staff and ultimately we could not resist the apple and almond tart and beautiful chocolate eclair. Cafe was very clean and larger than first appearance with plenty of seating inside. Food and decor tips its hat towards its obvious french origins. Cafe also has an extensive menu for breakfast and light lunches including quiches etc. On this our first experience, well worth a visit.

Delighted to see some amazing looking gluten free cake/desert options, and pleased to say they tasted as good as they looked. Coffee was really good quality too.

An impromptu visit with 3 kids, 3 adults and a small dog could have been a challenge on a busy day in Dartmouth, but service was swift and we were made to feel very welcome. Lovely homemade bread and all the food went down very well. Thanks to the team at Saveurs.

Just off the main street in Dartmouth lies this little French gem! Food is fantastic, staff are very pleasant and attentive. Not a huge place so imagine that it quite easily is full. Great selection of hold and cold food, sandwiches and patisseries. We were only visiting on holiday which was a shame as we would be regular visitors, but there is no question where we will be heading next time we are in Dartmouth!
