My wife and I regularly go for breakfast and coffee here when we need a treat. The service and food and drink here are always excellent, as they were on this occassion. So much better than some of the other, "trendy" joints on North Street.

I have never been before and I won’t be going back. I was only in there for a couple of minutes and the person behind the counter was rude and unfriendly and acted like she didn’t want me there, so I didn’t order anything in the end and I left. Why run a coffee shop if you act like you hate all the customers who come in? Very weird and uncomfortable. No thanks!

Just had a lovely breakfast. Good quality produce, a normal breakfast cooked well. Nice and busy. Had a small breakfast perfect size. Good choice of menu.

Went with my partner and ordered 2 chai lattes with oat milk. Paid for the order and confirmed the order. The manager then realised she put through latte instead of chai latte on the till and i said i can pay the difference (which was 50p), she declined and said "no don't worry it's my fault". We sat down and when our drinks were delivered she gave us lattes. I said we ordered chai latte and she remade them but then said i had to pay the difference, which is fine but i only had card and she was rude and said they had a £5 minimum so that wouldn't do. After a back and forth she then said to bring it back next time. I probably wont be going back. Young waitress was lovely, felt bad for her but manager needs lessons in customer service.

Whenever i have some time and need a good breakfast i always go to Savannah always good always polite and Im always full up after!

Went with my boyfriend for brunch. Ordered one bacon and eggs and a small breakfast (£7 for one sausage, half a tomato, a piece of toast, one slice of bacon and some beans).I asked for hash browns as an add on and I was given one for 95p. Really poor value for the amount of food. Also the staff aren’t very charismatic. A smile goes a long way.

The owner was very friendly as we walked by, on our way to a different place, came back after finding it too loud and busy, so very glad we did - quick service, food was delicious and reasonably priced, first time here BUT not our last...highly recommended

The owner was very rude and would not allow me to sit at one of the empty tables as I was by myself but little did she know that I would have been spending more money than the couples just having a hot drink!!

Went here quickly for afternoon tea. Service was very friendly. Coffee was ok. Hot chocolate average. The carrot cake didn’t have too much flavour and icing was a bit thick and sweet. Overall ok.

I visited the coffee shop on Sunday with my aunt and children for a quick coffee the owner was extremely rude and made us feel unwelcome. We approached the counter to order some drinks and she snapped saying “ no I come to you you don’t order here” when she came to take our order ( 3 coffees and a pineapple juice) she said “ is that it? your not ordering any food “ tutted and walked off. The duration of our stay which was no more than 30 mins she kept walking passed giving us dirty looks and considering this is a coffee shop I would much rather purchase a drink from a corner shop coffee machine than ever go in this establishment again.

We had a lovely breakfast.i had the Royal Breakfast and it was stunning.My friend had the normal breakfast and hot coffee and a mug of tea. Great

I have to say the owner is very rude to customers and even worse to her staff clearly on some sort of power trip there are other friendlier places to go to in the area two words spring to mind. employment tribunal

Very disappointed in this restaurant as I come in hair for a drink family if you think Jane as I had a buggy they said that they didn’t serve drinks and I would have to say that I have been in there in the past is my son and have been able to have an milkshake and a coffee sure it was because I have a buggy do you want me to sit right by the door which I thought it was too cold and I like to go to another table Anyway she made the excuse that that it was because I was an alternative but really she didn’t want me in with the buggy really disappointed as I would love to try the food here

Brilliant breakfast sandwich, creamy latte. Had to dash to pick my daughter up so they gave me take away service. Nothing too much trouble, breakfast baps were amazing good quality.

We strolled in and found a 4 seater table only to be barked at and told to sit at a 2 seater table .... and then 2 guys strolled to that same 4 seater table and were allowed to stay there!! How rude, inconsistent and unnecessary. The breakfasts we ordered took a while too. There are better places to breakfast where you don't get barked at. Don't think our custom was appreciated so we won't be going back

Great quality breakfasts, bacon was super thick. Girl serving us was really lovely. Such a cosy place for brekkie on a cold wet day! We will be back!!

Called in for a breakfast and was pleasantly surprised! Friendly service, freshly cooked food and reasonable prices. Only had a breakfast roll but full breakfasts looked really good. Will definitely visit again soon!

Even though we arrived in a busy time of the day which is breakfast time during the weekend, the service, the food (specially the eggs benedict) and the price for what you get was very good. Highly recommended!

Era una hermosa mañana soleada en la calle North. Así que decidimos parar y tomar un café con un amigo.

La comida en el restaurante es bueno. Van desde un desayuno inglés básico para relleno. hojas viñas Todo el mundo encontrará algo que quieres comer. Nos quedamos muy contentos con la comida, pero la experiencia fue arruinada por la sobrerreacción del dueño de una típica ocurrencia en un restaurante.

Group payment was suggested as oppose to paying separately. A counter offer to establish a "whole customer payment plan" was proposed whereby every customer would contribute to a single collective fund (a basic communist system with the restaurant owner delivering as the politburo and working in the best interests of the wider U.K. Breakfast eating population.) This offer was rejected as too far left, we will pay separately.

Popped in Savana for lunch today and really enjoyed my meal. Staff were welcoming and after placing our orders the food didn't take long to reach us at all. Price was great would return back here for lunch again

Ended up here by chance today as it was very hot and my husband and I plus dog all needed a drink in the shade. My husband bought our teas and mentioned when he came back that his polite and friendly greeting had met with a surprisingly unfriendly attitude from the middle aged woman who we supposed must be the owner. But since my well-behaved and elderly Dalmatian was very thirsty and there was no-one waiting to be served I went in to ask if I could have some tap water to take out for her - and was amazed to be told that I could not, whih has NEVER happened to me before anywhere! the ridiculous excuse given was that they didn't have anything to put it in - a friend of mine runs a cafe and I know that they throw away empty plastic tubs suitable for giving a dog water every day. Now I have read the other reviews I realise this is how she is to everyone - amazing she is still in business, but hopefully everyone will learn to avoid the place soon, as I certainly will! It's a pity she has such a bad attitude as the tea was high quality and apparently her kebabs are good - and we like kebabs and would have come back but definitely won't now.

Pedí el queso feta y cebolla roja panini con ensalada fue horrible vista y seco como un hueso que podría fotografiar por la mitad! La comida dentro estaba tibia simplemente horrible. Llevé a la barra para quejarme sólo la señora discutir conmigo, que no fue quemada!!! No hace falta decir que no he aquí de nuevo... Servicio y extremadamente grosero horrible comida.

I don't leave reviews but enjoyed the food, friendly welcome and service at this place I felt I had to. Really surprised by the bad reviews, the food was good quality, well cooked and good value. So much so I went here every morning of a three day stay for the UPFEST weekend. Thank you, see you next year! :)

Extremely poor service. Went to order at the bar, they asked me to go and sit down to get table service.but they kept on serving others at the bar. 20 mins later someone came to take our order, because we reminded them. Food finally has come out, 40 mins later (this is breakfast food not a piece of steak) with no apology whatsoever. We asked for free coffees to as a minimum compensate for the delay, and the fact we had drunk ours already whilst waiting, which they initially refused. Overall v bad service, food OK but nothing to shout about.

I had small vegetarian breakdast, because usually english breakfast is tobug for me. It occures really small so next time I will buy regular :)

been in there a couple of times. was disappointed with the veggie burger as it was just processed crap. then a friend of mine wanted to go there for breakfast (the lounge seemed a bit pretentious), so we went in and sat down at a table. it was completely empty and we hadn't seen each other in a while so had lots to catch up on. instead of reading the menu we sat chatting for a while. the young waiter came over and asked if we were ready to order, and we said no. the owner then waited about 1 minute and sent him over again. this happened about 3 times before we felt so harassed that we ordered our breakfasts. i was so annoyed, had i been a bit shorter tempered i would have told them where to shove it. if it had been busy it would have been understandable, but we were the only customers in there. i've been in a couple of times for takeaway coffee, and the owner is just the rudest person you've ever met. won't be returning, i always try to support local businesses but this woman doesn't deserve my money.

Im not sure why Savanna is getting such bad reviews. She is always really welcoming and friendly. The food quality and portions are excellent. It is a small family run business and cant be expected to compete with a large chain. She often cooks and serves tables.The kebab is huge and tastes amazing, the breakfast is beautiful. I would totally recommend anyone to come here..

Do not expect friendly service. But do expect to choose from a good selection of food and fair sized portions. I only asked if I could have extra cheese in my omelette and her reaction was so unfriendly and rude. Manners cost nothing. Extra cheese would have cost me an extra £1 if I was allowed. I will return but I will not bring any expectations next time.

Been a regular here for a long time, in spite of the owner's dodgy customer service.The owner reserves tables in her very packed coffee shop and tells people where to sit. I have often been put on a table I didn't want, while the reserved tables remain empty.Yesterday the shop was busy and the only non reserved table was right by the door. It was a very cold day. I explained my sister was unwell due to chemotherapy and asked if we could sit in the warm, on one of the reserved tables. Even though there were three of us I was told we couldn't. The lovely waitress told us we could move when a non reserved table became free. Whetheren we did this the owner shouted at us to stay where we were.The owner eventually apologised when we paid but as far as I'm concerned it was too little too late. I feel she put profit over basic kindness and compassion for loyal customers. All the time we were there her precious reserved tables remained empty.The waiting and kitchen staff are lovely, but they never stay long. The breakfasts are ok, but no way good enough for us to accept the way we were treated yesterday.Such a shame. Kindness costs nothing.

Such a shame as we used to visit regularly here for breakfast.But we needed up sick and tired of the rude lady who owns it.She is dismissive and uninterested, rude.She once looked at me with disgust when I took a tomato off my plate (that I asked to not have) and wrapped it in tissue and left on the side of my table.Questioned why I was putting salt on my food?ALSO SEEN A RAT/MOUSE RUNNING IN CAFE ONCE, the whole cafe seen and it was roaming the cafe, slightly off puttingUnacceptable behaviour always doggy looks.Shame as the food is nice and the cafe is good but friendly and appreciative staff go a long way.

Looking for a cafe after seeing a show at the brewery theatre, stopped into this place since it looked quite nice. There were four of us so we looked for a suitable sized table. The only one available had a reserved notice on it, so we chose two two-seat tables that were about 12 inches apart and moved them so that they were next to reach other. The owner was not happy about this and even berated the young waitress working there. We left immediately and will not be going back. There are much better cafes on North Street.

Popped in here as it looks nice. Ordered two flat whites, a latte and two panini. The service was friendly with our waitress wished us all a happy new year. Food arrived promptly best panini I have ever had (ham and cheese) my mother in law enjoyed tuna and sweet corn. All made with amazingly freshly baked Turkish bread and beautifully served with an interesting side salad. Highly recommend this lovely cafe great food and service.

I have only visited this place once and would never return. After we finished our meal the rude owner accused us of stealing a sugar bowl the previous week (?!) when we denied this she pulled up CCTV coverage of two people that looked nothing like me and my friend and said she would call the police if we didn't return the sugar bowl or pay for it. Safe to say this was very embarrassing and offensive for my friend and I and I would never return to this place.

While walking down North Street I fancied a coffee, so went into Savana Coffee. It was busy but there was maybe 5 tables empty inside and outside there was lots of space. I went to the counter and asked if I could order a coffee, and the lady, I am presuming is the owner told me if it wasn't for take away I had to take a seat. The young waitress, who was nice took my order and went behind the counter where I heard the owner moaning that its just another coffee and "don't people realise they are waisting my time" So feeling really awkward I sat and drank my hazelnut coffee as quick as possible (the coffee was nice however) but while I sat there two ladies walked in and took a seat, then after a couple of minutes of not being acknowledged one went to the counter and asked if they would order coffee, the owner was again rude, telling her to take a seat, then told the waitress to tell them they had to order food because it was the lunch time rush and they couldn't just have coffee. I find this incredibly rude and unprofessional. Like I said the place wasn't full, and it was 11am on a saturday morning in a coffee shop. Although the coffee was good there is no shortage of good coffee in the area, so I wouldn't recommend having it here.

Wanted a coffee so found Savana Coffee. Went in, plenty of empty tables, went to sit down, a very rude lady refused to serve us because we were not eating. At least that was the reason that she gave, you see I am mildly handicapped...I trust that wasn't the real reason. Needless to say we shall not be going again.

It was a cold and wet Monday lunch time. My friend and I thought we would have a spot of lunch and dry out a little. We both ordered soup and a roll.this hit the spot.very nice and warming.we followed up with two coffees. The waiting staff were busy but very little conversation with customers.,which is such a shame.

Dropped in for breakfast. Arrived before opening time, but this wasn't a problem. Service was very friendly. Orders coffee and breakfast roll, coffee was very good. As good as anywhere. Breakfast roll was pretty good. Very good value for money.

I think some of the reviews on here are harsh. Have been using this place for a year or-so now usually for a brunch on a weekend. Ok, it's not perfect when it comes to service - however I think that some people do tend to expect a little too much at times.I will keep coming back!

Walked in one saturday morning to takeaway a bacon sandwich, the lady behind the counter served one person in front of me and then had to keep serving plates to people sat down, just walked out.

My friends and I thought we'd have a breakfast here this morning but we certainly won't be returning!! The boss took our order but was so rude to us and was very abrupt. In particular to one of our friends who wasn't eating but just having a drink. She slammed our bill on the table, wasn't too impressed when one of our group asked additional hot water for the teapot. We didn't leave a tip but one tip I would leave is 'give the job up if that's your attitude '

I have eaten here many times and was surprised to read such bad reviews as I've never had a bad meal or bad service here ! The coffee is always fresh and tea of a good quality not cheap rubbish. Our breakfast was delicious, well cooked and presented well. I lady who has always served us on previous visits was nothing but friendly and warm as was the other young girl working there. Yes the place is small and the tables are quite close but that would never stop us going there ! The menu is varied it's not just breakfast, although breakfast is served all day. I will be returning here again very soon !

I visited savana coffee with my girlfriend on a sunny Thursday morning. It's very clean and tidy which is nice. After placing my order though I was told to take a seat and that the lady serving would bring our coffee to the table. We sat outside and waited a solid 10 minutes if not more for our 2 coffees to arrive. I walked inside too see the lady serving stood just chatting to another person. Rather than preparing our coffees. I sat back down and two minutes later are coffees arrived with no apologies for the wait. The coffee itself was okay was okay.

Hubby & I were looking for a place to have a quick bite to eat before going to a rugby match so we popped in. Surprised by the range of food available. I had a chicken fajitas which arrived sizzling to the table with a accompaniments. My husband ordered some chili nachos. Prices were very reasonable, the food fantastic. We will visit again.

I came here on a Saturday lunchtime and had soup. It was packed! All day breakfasts were flying out and looked excellent. This is a regular cafe and has an extensive menu so don't be put off by the name. The food I saw and ate looked really good and I certainly would come here again.

Went here with our 3 year old daughter for a change as North Street has loads of amazing eateries. Table hadn't been cleaned and some were so close together you felt like you were sitting on someone's lap!No sooner had we sat I down, the extremely grumpy lady owner came to take our order so didn't get a chance to look at all the menu and felt if you said you wanted more time she'd be annoyed.Burger ... Processed McDonald's like burgers which were barely cooked, processed cheese slice and chips were definitely undercooked. Veg soup ... Served with cold toast. Very bland and tasted like it came from a tin (served with a knife and fork!)Children's nuggets and chips ... Ok but definitely processed and chips undercooked.The milkshakes were delicious though - despite a couple of fruit flies hanging around.When it came to paying there was an awful atmosphere and the lady owner was being a battle-axe and shouting at the poor waiter and ordering the chef about. She was very rude and was even shouting orders at the waiter whist serving people.Definitely won't be going here again as there is an abundance of choice of cafes on North Street which are above and beyond this place. Have no idea why it's still open!

My husband and I had been out for an early morning Sunday walk. it was cold and we were both shivering in our socks. We strolled along North Street and Savana was not only open (bear in mind this was an early Sunday morning walk!) but it was also busy. We popped in and had hot chocolate, I had a bacon sandwich and my husband had a breakfast roll (egg and a sausage). It was all delicious - the bacon was absolutely perfect, the hot chocolate was warming and sweet, and the price was very reasonable for the full meal. All the time, locals popped in and out, so this is clearly a busy and popular Bedminster spot!

It's such a shame as they do such a good breakfast in here it's always been my favourite but I always debate returning because of the rude owner. After the last time I went in I decided I wint be returning. Good menu and food is gorgeous but the owner is so rude. She is abrupt, hardly ever smiles, she often turns her nose up. She critisized me for putting pepper on my fry up without trying it first, another time she had turned her nose up because I asked for no tomato but I still recieved one so I wrapped in it tissue and placed on side of table which she asked if it was mine and tutted, another time my friend left half a plate of food as wasn't feeling well to which she asked why we had left so much and what a waste. Just in polite will never return.

Tried to have a spot of breakfast with my fiancee the other morning, it didn't look very busy so decided to chance it. The interior look like it had stopped in some kind of time portal. Everything orange and tacky looking. Went up to the counter and told immediately to sit down and they would take our orders. No greeting or social skills from the woman at all how rude!Not a minute longer than 30mins none came to take our order.After seeing the state of the coffee coming out and the basic food offering, we left.I think Savannah needs clear out of its drift-wood, and try and catch up with an ever growing North street!

Not my first here and won't be my last.Quick service and good on the purse. Job done.Has been on North Street for years, which is a testament to itself.

Boyfriend is a regular here and said it was great, waited 30mins and STILL no food. Went up and asked and the lady behind the counter just shouted '3 breakfasts' to the chef and said it 'would be 2mins' no sorry, then later on she ran back to our table saying sorry and gave us 3 coffees. As none of us wanted coffee it was only wasted while we sat waiting for our food again, spent an hour of my day sat inside when I planned to spend my day off in the sun after food. Although the food was good, not worth time or the money. Very annoying would not recommend.

i would avoid going back this little cafe. the owner treats you like a naughty school child. you leave smelling of chips and the food is less than appealing. There are plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants much more deserving of you money.

the coffee is average and over priced and the lady that works there seems to be very controlling and takes over what others are doing, when i asked for a double stop latter, it cost me £3 (something) as it was a single latte + an expresso, i'm no coffee buff but at the TF and the Hen, its standard and its only £2, its just a shame, the food wasn't for me either, alot of better places to eat and drink on n.street

I have had breakfast here many times and enjoy it, we went for lunch but did not have the same experience. The Savannah burger was frozen processed burgers and cheese, while my veggie enchilada was overwhelming cumin. We were quite disappointed. We will only doing breakfast from now on.

Went to have a all day breakfast what a mistake that was not only did I have pay extra because I did like some thing what on the breakfast but add insult to injury the bacon was over cooked mushroom were off when spoken to the owner she was Very rude only to say that she had not had any complaints well all I can say that she is lucky or the people who eat in there will eat any thing, I have eaten food in many places before this even those who have Michelin stars and this place have a lot of work to do with the competition there is on North street and will not be going there again.

I should declare that I am a little biased because I've been coming here for several years and I consider it my local. The coffee is really the best on North Street. I can also recommend the home made chilli, the Savannah Burger and the all-day breakfast. The staff are friendly and attentive and the owner works very hard to maintain a high standard. (The bathroom is lovely, by the way, compared with that of most cafes.)
