Saucy Kipper in Tower Hamlets

Authentic British chip shop in Bow, London on the famous Roman Road market street. I used this place quite a few times whilst in the area in 2023. Was pleased to find it too because these kinds of chippies are becoming rarer in London. It is a friendly run business and good prices, plus the portions of chips are big. So, if you are in the area and fancy authentic fish & chips, The Saucy Kipper is recommended.

Nice friendly staff. Good size portions. I usually get a small portion of chips twice a week. These small portions would be large portions in other chippies. Once a month I have fish, ships, curried sauce and mushy peas. Staff will cook a fresh piece of fish for you.

Some times nice but lately batter look like it had been cooked 4 times over paper stuck to batter with grease Brown chips that was 19th Friday August afternoon my husband goose there every Friday next time l think we will try the new fish and chips shop in old ford insteed

Hate writing bad reviews but I visited for the first time today and had to bin the fish. It was grey and overcooked and I suspect, frozen. The chips were fine but oh, that fish. Such a shame because it’s a lovely little shop and I’m guessing it used to be far better.

Personal nuevo grosero y (extremadamente) porciones pequeñas para un asombroso 8 para pescado y papas fritas. Soy un cliente habitual, por lo que obtener un servicio tan deficiente fue terrible. No volveré y encontraré un nuevo chippy. Visitado el lunes 23 diciembre 2019

Maybe I was unlucky...but fish, chips and peas was bland. The battered fish was soggy...maybe quite old. Pretty disappointed. Staff seemed very friendly though.

This is my secret pleasure, I love the Saucy Kipper - their fish and chips are wonderful. Proper Chippy chips, fresh battered fish, cheeky chappies serving you with a friendly smile and pleasing for your purse. Absolutely without a doubt prefer coming here for my fish and chips (and battered sausage, and fishcakes, and ribs and all their food) even after moving further away out of the area. Would rather make the extra 20min car journey because it is that good.

Really good food and friendly service. Their chips just cannot compare. You should also try the ribs

Good portions and decent selection of fish, pies, ribs, pickled eggs and massive pickled onions. Go there every couple of weeks.

Super fast and friendly fish and chips joint. Absolutely loved the fish and chips here with very reasonable price.

This is a well established fish bar they are very quick with the service and they are friendly. My favourite is the bbq spare ribs the have lots of sauce and are very meaty the meat is soft and practically fall off the bone. They are very busy on market days which are Tuesday's Thursday's and Saturdays so why not take a walk down the market then take something from the saucy kipper home

Used to eat from here regularly they donated a free meal in a local raffle which I won but the meal was only fit for the bin to do this to a prize winner bad enough but I was a Good customer now use another fish n chip shop on the Roman road saucy kippers loss !!!

Excellent customer service and really lovely food. Rolls were even warm with melted butter! Also very reasonably priced.

This is actually one of the best Fish &chips places is London! For take away! Quality is amazing and fresh cut fries! The portion of fries is for 2 actually;) i always ask for half...! Love the cypriot family that runs this place many many years. Must try!

Fish and Chips are superb but the ribs are top quality. The sticky sauce covering is delicious, ribs meaty but not fatty. Generous portions and good value for money. A regular stop for us now on our way to Brick Lane...

Fish cooked to order and always loads of chips, also do pickled gherkins and eggs if you like...great value and well recommended!

Fuimos al tomate Kipper para pescado y patatas fritas, el este de Londres. Normalmente solemos pedir un pescado y patatas fritas cada una, pero mi amigo local nos avisó de que una gran porción sería suficiente para todos nosotros tres. Francamente, no creo que ella ya que sabemos las porciones normales volver a casa sería suficiente para 1 quizás 2 comen muy pequeños y teníamos hambre esta noche, así que estábamos deseando esta comida. Cuando el hombre simpático detrás del mostrador shovelling comenzó en las patatas fritas que aunque nunca parada y nos reímos con la enorme cantidad asignada a 1 gran porción. No fue suficiente para nosotros tres y las porciones de pescado eran grandes. Una excelente relación calidad-precio y un personal amable.

El tomate Kipper es increíble por su nombre y en la naturaleza. Se hace el mejor pescado y patatas fritas que he probado en Londres. También he probado la gambas y el pollo kebab. Todas son muy sabrosos.
