Sasi's Thai in Oxford

Just amazing. Cheap, fast, incredibly tasty, authentic and friendly. Awesome. Best Thai I’ve had in the UK for bloomin’ years.

This is the second time we went, and we agreed that it has improved quite a bit over the last year or so. We had rice with green/red curry and stir-fried pork. It was spicy and tasty. Very good, reasonably priced for covered market food. I think this is one of the top 5 Asian food places in Oxford. We will definitely go again. Unfortunate that it is not possible to order take away from home, so it might it take a little longer until we come back. We know Asian food as we lived in South-East Asia for years. This is very decent food and not too expensive for UK standards, really. Give it go if you are around. If you like Thai food, you won't be disappointed.

Went here chose the pork and spring roll everything was cold never again. Go to the place opposite to Donburi Inn far better

I lived in Thailand for 7 years and I felt right at home in this place. From the smells, the sights, the place settings and the condiment set up...all very authentic. It felt like being back in the side streets of Bangkok. Service was prompt and efficient. I had the red beef curry and my friend had the chicken & cashew. We both cleaned our plates. Good value.

While queuing to order, I witnessed a customer return his food after he’d tried it saying it was too spicy. The man behind the counter took the plate of food from the customer and emptied the contents back into the main container from which they were serving.

The food was poor and service even worse. We ordered garlic chicken with rice it was basically a plate of rice with some chicken on the top. When it came to paying the young girl struggled to understand basic English she was very perplexed. At the table the food tasted bland. I wouldn't go here again there is much better street food on the outdoor market.

Excellent food at great price and substantial portion. Free water to drink. Don’t think they do hot drinks but plenty of other places nearby for them. Good choice of dishes. You will probably have to share a table as very popular.

Fantastic food, fast and fresh. Polite service, second time I’ve been here and cannot fault it if you’re after fresh thai street food. Reasonably priced too. I had their Thai beef curry and a crispy pork basil dish, both were delicious and under £10. Thank you Sasi’s Thai, we’ll be back!!

We were in Oxford and were looking for a tapas bar, but came across this Thai while looking for it. We love Thai food but normally stay to the big restaurants as we always find that the food is bland, not spicy enough and watery on smaller/take away places. Well this was above all expectations, food was gorgeous, very authentic and spicy. We have travelled to Thailand and the food here was on par. Highly recommend a visit, and we would definitely come back if we were in Oxford. Glad we never found the tapas. Staff was friendly and helpfull. Also had free water which was a bonus, and also had Thai beer.

Portions were not that generous and the taste did not inspire visions of Thailand, but neither did the friendliness of the crew. But what was really concerning: the food was not hot, just barely warm and I strongly suggest they revisit the health and safety guidelines regarding safe food temperatures.

One of my favourite place to eat ,but today i was really disappointing the quality of food the taste is dropped down, Curry was over salted and spiced rice is mushy its doesn't taste alt all the way it supposed to be. definitely some one new on the kitchen cooking cannot deliver the standard it was before, ill flag up to the management or owner to review the quality thank you

Authentic Thai food as you would find in Thailand. Having lived and worked for some years in Thailand, this is a very authentic eating experience. Delicious food at a great price, served in a traditional Thai cafe setting. Highly recommended.

An entirely reasonable lunch. It was very busy, but people moved through at about the same rate they turned up so we didn't have any trouble finding a table. There was plenty of choice available, though a few of our requests weren't heard. Food was fine - flavourful but overcooked, which wasn't surprising given they sell from hot plates. Spice is aimed at British people, though there are condiments available to increase that.

The food choice is limited , its not posh , but the quality and value is truly excellent . I've been here a number of times and for an inexpensive bite in Oxford centre it can't be beaten If there's 2 of you on should find a table as they can be hard to get . I'll be going again soon even though its ' basic ' decor , not posh , and there is often a queue

I went to have lunch at Sasi Thai and the food was very very good. Modest place and kind of hard to find a place to sit but totally worth it. The food was fantastic and authentic. Highly recommended!

This is a street food type place in Oxford's famous Covered Market . It's not posh but it's fast . The food choice is good , What stands out is the good portion size and the quality of what you receive for the money . Rice plus one addition is £7.5 plus 2 additions is £9.0 It can be hard to find a table but with seats in other areas of the covered market that is not necessarily an issue as they do takeaways. A street food treat I have returned to a few times and then visitors ! NB Daytime only as the market loses late afternoon .

Went to Oxford for the weekend and accidentally stubbled on this place hid away in a Market. Looked busy so we thought let’s give it a try and wow amazing food for the value. Defiantly recommend when in oxford.

A long queue is always a good sign. We called in just after midday Saturday and grabbed one of the last tables available. Two plates of Red Thai Squid, Yellow Chicken Curry and rice and Pad Thai, 13 quid total, a bargain in Oxford. The food was fresh and very tasty! Free water, friendly staff and simple but clean surroundings. I’ve never seen so many happy people munching away! Ten out of ten, maybe 11.

Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup are really good. This place has great sweet and sour chilli that goes amazing with pork or chicken rice. However, rice is a bit cold.

I came here twice, on successive days, and had totally different meals, however the standard of each was very high. Despite having large trays of pre-cooked food, it is all hot, delicious, fresh and colourful to look at as well. I had the spicy squid, and it was spicy, and the chicken with cashew nuts was also delicious. The covered market is lucky to have this fantastic place to eat there.

Sasi's Thai is in Oxford's covered market which is a wonderful place.There were a couple of tables outside the restaurant and several tables inside. I had a tasty vegetarian Pad Thai for under £6. Service was quick - you are served at a counter and then find somewhere to sit on shared tables. The food is served on plates - so good for the environment. You can have a take away. (but sadly in plastic containers)

Unintentionally came across a Thai restaurant inside the Covered Market in Oxford. I was really hungry and craving for Asian food. Went straight in to order without any high expectation. The smell of their curry immediately convinced me that I have made the right choice. Their red, yellow and green curries are all delicious. Around 7 pounds for 2 dishes and rice, and you are in curry paradise in the middle of Oxford. Who can imagine that?

Best pad Thai I have ever had and an all round brilliant market. Me and my family (4 of us in total) went for just about every dish on the menu and it was under £30.

The delicious smell and queue here enticed us to look more closely at this tightly-packed cafe, as well as the prices. Two choices from the menu plus rice for £7.50 - or just £6 for one - made it impossible to resist. Fast and furious service over a counter where you see the different dishes laid before you, you need to decide quickly. With such choice and unsure of how hot some dishes might be, the three of us chose pad Thai and crispy fried pork - both utterly delicious - with a side of spring rolls, and found a table. It's intimate, friendly and lively, with a large proportion of eaters Thai and Asian; a good sign. Sauces and water are close at hand. Twenty-something daughter, far more experienced than us with Thai food, was impressed. Would recommend to anyone not over fussy about what is in each dish - service seems too fast for that - and on a budget, and will definitely return when next in Oxford.

Really good Thai hawker style food. Always fresh, hot delicious and filling food at a reasonable price. Service is efficient and the atmosphere is great as it always packed.

Pedí una almohadilla vegana tailandesa. El personal confiaba en poder hacerlo. Conseguí la comida y horrorizado al encontrar camarones secos en mi comida. Enfrenté al personal solo para que me despidieran muy rápido y me dijeron que no era camarón sino cebolla roja. ¿Qué piensas? El personal también se estaba riendo de mí mientras caminaba de regreso a mi mesa, lo que me hizo sentir realmente humillado.

Una cola afuera y un olor tentador son suficientes para meterme en este espacio tan apretado. Es muy agradable con las mesas compartidas y me recuerda a cenar en lugares similares en el Lejano Oriente. También puedes comprar algunos ingredientes para tu propia tienda - armario.

Came here for lunch last week. I'd specifically ordered the rice noodle soup from the menu which is made on demand. Explicitly stated that I wanted it to be vegan, this was repeated back to me. The soup itself is listed as vegetarian.

We had great lunch here today. At peak time, it can be hard to find a table, but it is worth it. Under 10£ you can get soft drik, 2 hot course with rice. Very fresh and tasty, but beware some are hot of chili.

For hungry people who don’t want to wait, and reasonable prices, this is the best place as they can pick the food items as a buffet and pay.

I’ve been coming religiously for over a year now the Yellow chicken curry and red beef curry our probably the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. And I’m a professional chef. I love it , it’s cheap and the portions are ridiculously generous but still remain authentic packed full of lemongrass and galangal kefir etc. Can’t recommend this place enough... it’s run by a few lovely Thai ladies who can cook for sure. Always consistent too.

Whilst mooching around the Oxford Covered Market lunchtime today, I came across Sasi's Thai, and thought I'd try their 'Tuesday Special' Tom Kha Gai (Coconut Chicken Soup). I was offered it with or without rice, so I opted to keep it light as it was lunchtime.

Stumbled across this busy cafe while browsing in the covered market. I had a plate of fish curry and green chicken curry with rice for £7. Both were delicious, quite spicy and really good value for money. The place was very busy and shared a table. Would definitely return next time i visit Oxford.

I happened to get here just as it opened for lunch, and all of the options were available and they all looked delicious. I chose just two, Chicken with garlic and cashew nuts, and chilli pork, spicy. With rice, £7. Very good and superb value.

After not getting a table in a well known Thai restaurant chain, decided to give the place a try.

We popped in for lunch on a cold dreary Saturday and found the place extremely busy. The food was fresh and really good. There is nothing fancy about the restaurant, but it is probably some of the healthier fast food around.

When I was working in Oxford, five years ago, one of my favourite places for lunch was Sais’s Thai in the wonderful covered market. Since I left Oxford, I’ve not really had the chance to go back, or certainly no time for lunch. So it was with a little trepidation and anticipation that with time for lunch I found myself venturing into the covered market to see, if firstly Sais’s Thai was still there and if there was room for me for lunch.

Siempre noté que hay una cola alrededor de la hora del almuerzo y le di una oportunidad. Ahora me convertí en un regular también. Es barato, rápido y muy sabroso.

Food was ok but not fascinatingly good and service was terrible, the staff is impatient and afraid that people wouldn’t pay for the food!

I regularly visit Sasi's with my partner or sister and we think it's the most authentic delicious Thai food in Oxford. They always give a great portion as well so it's definitely worth the price. Can't wait to eat there the next time. 😍

I found this place while walking through the covered market in Oxford. It was cheap. Most of the items were spicy so be aware. The place was very small and everyone shared tables. Since it was a self service restaurant, the service was OK. They accepted credit cards.

We saw Sasi last week and decided to visit as it looked interesting.... I checked TA and found lots of good reviews.... surprisingly there were some that said the food was tasteless... Well, they were wrong... we had the rice with two other dishes, the green and yellow curries were great and very spicy as expected, the chicken and cashew nuts was very flavourful and had a reasonable amount of nuts and the pork dish was also tasty.... we will be back to try more. The price was £14 for two plates, which were huge... plus free water, which we needed! This is a great place for a quick, tasty and filling meal.... lots of tables available at 12pm, but it was getting busier.

Vine aquí hoy para el almuerzo - ¡comida realmente rápida! Creo que escogí el plato equivocado (comí pollo con ajo y arroz) porque estaba bastante seco. Pero el restaurante era muy auténtico, así que sin duda volvería! Porciones más grandes si te sientas en también.

Delightful cafe in Covered Market always busy. Only lunchtime as market is closed in evenings. A real taste of Thailand both in the food and the atmosphere.

Small, unfussy little restaurant in the Covered Market. The food is the absolute star of the show, so delicious and great value. I had the veggie Pad Thai and the red fish curry and would strongly recommend both. I wish I lived in Oxford so I could go more regularly!

My quest for Oxford's best value lunch continued at Sasi's Thai in the covered market. This is a no nonsense cafe selling steaming plates of Thai dishes - a mixture of daily specials and your standard curries. Fast service, cramped eating areas but at £15 plus drinks for two this is very good value. Go early.

Not much to say except good Thai food and exceptional value (£15 to fill 2 people!)

A second visit to Sarsi Thai confirmed that this restaurant is excellent in food quality and value. A firm favourite is the Pad tai noodles, being freshly cooked. The cashew chicken, green chicken curry are very good and are some of the most popular dishes on the limited menu.

I went here with a friend who had been several times before and highly recommended it. Plenty of delicious authentic Thai food and great value too. We were quite early but you could tell it would be busy over lunchtimes.

While waiting to order a nice local lady told me, "this is the best food and best value in Oxford" - she was right. Excellent. I have traveled to Bangkok various times and this little kitchen comes close to Bangkok's great food! Highly Recommended.

I’ve been having lunch here every few weeks for a couple years. You can tell this place is good as it’s always packed full, with a queue out the door.

If you're in Oxford looking for food that is the closest you would find on the streets of Bangkok - then look no further.

Sasi's Thai estaba lleno cuando fuimos el sábado 14 de julio de 2018. Aunque la comida no estaba mal, me gustaría haber visto el 3 estrellas de higiene alimentaria antes había leído las críticas de Tripadvisor. En mi humilde opinión, este restaurante de comando para el respeto que se merece una calificación de 'higiene' generalmente satisfactoria simplemente no es lo suficientemente bueno. También recibimos la moneda extranjera en nuestro cambio que estoy seguro fue un error inocente.

Fast Thai food. Offer a wide range of tasty choices of mains that can goes with rice. Tables are limited in this small place. So if you choose to dine in, you're most likely gonna share a table with other customers.

A friend and I were wondering through the market whilst visiting Oxford and stumbled across this little beauty. Food was extremely good, I had the fish red curry with rice and a veg spring roll all for £7!!!! I enjoyed sharing a table with strangers and chatting to other tourists. Great atmosphere.

オックスフォードに日帰り旅をしたときにランチで利用しました。カフェテリア形式の気楽なお店ですが、お値段も安く、味もおいしいです。お客さんもひっきりになしに来ていたので人気店なのだと思います。このお店があるマーケットもなんだか楽しげなところです。時間がなくて色々見ることはできませんでしたが、雰囲気を味わえてよかったです。
