MR BHOOPATHI done fabulous service on our table and we been glad to hv served by him 5 of us had ordered dosa s ,flooda ,chai,and desert We are regular clients

This is an excellent and spacious restaurant featuring three rooms so you can be sure of getting a table. I've never bothered with booking a table. I've only had Masala Dosas there out of the very long list of dosas available. Very big and good value. Water is readily brought to the table but beer and wine are available. Lasso is available. Very friendly staff.

Food is a class as always, undoubtedly lingering & in house service was perfect at table 42, 07/11 @19.30, the downside is take away, masala dosa, sambhar soaked vada & chana bhatura. Chana bhatura packed & billed without chana & on reaching home, the telephonic conversation with priyanka ends with a reply that next time free chana will be given How is this possible, every other time when we order through Uber as well bhatura is delivered with sambhar & chutney without chana. We pay £6 & odd for a bhatura without chana, is this fair? Take away service always is at low standard & appalling response Sadly we never wish to experience this anymore Hoping SBH Management pays attention to this

The place was clean and food was served quickly. However, the serving is rather idiosyncratic with a tiny bowl of Sambhar along with idlis and vadas. I had to ask for more as did others eating. Why serve such small portion of dal? The idlis and vadas were good and tasted freshly made but the chutnis were rather tasteless. The dated decor can be improved with comfortable chairs and tables along with the interiors.

Regular customer of saravanaa, this time little disappointed with one dish mushroom chilli (tried second time).. it only gave the taste of soya sauce.. dosa was as always the top..

The service is so bad that you feel hungry after your first course. We ordered three starters it all came at different times - as if they were waiting for one person to finish their starters then give second person theirs and so on. Waited for forty five minutes for the mains to come out.Really dissatisfied and disappointed with the service but the food was good.

We visited this bustling restaurant yesterday, hosted by our son and daughter in law who have recently moved to Southall and are only a short walk away. We left the ordering to our son who was on his 5th visit in a month and enjoyed a succession of delicious plates, Standout being the cauliflower fritters and the vegetable “ meat” balls. The meal concluded with delicious desserts and a very reasonable bill.

Spent over 15 minutes on the phone ordering a delivery, which was explicitly explained at the beginning of the order, to be told at the end of the order that they do not deliver. Don’t bother wasting your time.

Visited this chain of vegetarian Indian outlets because the place looked popular but after ordering a meal, was surprised by the lack of spices in most of the dishes, they were all very plain and tasteless. What is amusing is that the restaurant manager replies...

Delicious food, freshly prepared, generous portion sizes. Basic utensils but nicely presented. We shared a scrummy roasted cauliflower starter and each had a Thalli as main course. Attention to cleanliness much in evidence between customers. Will definitely try to visit again.

We were in South Hall and looking to eat Masala Dosa and Saravaana Bhavan was open late and had TONS of people inside so decided to check it out. Overall, the service was quick and the food was good.We ordered the vada as an appetizer but the portion size was huge and it was definitely filling enough for dinner. We then ordered Masala Dosa, paneer tikka (again appetizer portion) and naan. The naan were good and warm and very delicious - the paneer tikka portion was huge and the both the taste and flavor were good (a bit spicy though)Overall a good place for quick South Indian food with lots of vegetarian options

Came into the Southall restaurant yesterday evening. Ordered a Jain meal. When the meal arrive it had some onions and a slice of a lemon. Called a waiter who simply took the meal away, removed the onion and lemon and brought the meal back after wiping the bit of the plate where the onion and lemon had been.Also ordered some rice which arrived some 10 minutes after receiving the meal. By this time the other food had gone cold.I regularly dine at other branches of the Saravana Bhavan restaurants and usually love the food however yesterday's experience was the worst. Even the food was tasteless. After a few mouth full of what was ordered I left the rest. Worst restaurant experience for a long time. Won't be dining at this branch again nor will I be recommending it to anyone. My review was shared by my son and daughter who dine at other branches of this restaurant a lot more than I.

I have been a regular customer of Saravanaa Bhavan for the last 5 years, my partner and I come here at least once in a week, went for lunch on Monday.The restaurant was quieter than expected, soon as we sat on the table, I witness one of the guys sitting next to us was very pissed at the waitress, I feel for the waitress. But after what they did to us, I don't feel a bit. Waitress are completely disinterested when it comes to service, we waited for 15 mins if someone could take our order and they were standing next to our table, gossiping with each other. I finally gave up and went to one of the waitresses to order myself, specially mentioned and requested to bring the order altogether as I had this feeling they will mess up our order. After a while, they brought only one dish first and threw it on the table right in front of us. The second dish (Uttapam) came while my partner was already finished with hers. I normally don't complain but this time I decided to confront them and now the excuses from them were uttapam takes time. I asked the waitress if she is being serious now, you go anywhere in the world in any restaurant, no matter if you order a steak and a portion of freakin' mac and cheese, they're meant to come together if the customer requested to you though mac & cheese takes hardly 10 mins doesn't mean that you will bring that first and by the way this was one of the worst and unprofessional excuses I ever heard in my life. I'm myself working in the service industry for the last 6 years, so please don't teach me how things work. You are a world-renowned chain, you should be ashamed of yourself if that's how you represent yourself. The staff definitely needs some training and development or else you will keep losing the customer and you already lost one. I hope to get a reply back but I can see the management is too busy to reply here. I will be also sending an email to one of your senior management.

I always come here and it is a personal favourite of ours. It’s great food and really good value for money and super quick service What more could you want??

Se voce quer ficar imerso na cultura Indiana em Londres, Southall e' o lugar. Este restaurante fica bem proximo da estacao de trem, muito movimentado e com um publico basicamente Indiano. As comidas sao muito boas, precos otimos tambem mas sugiro que voce pesquise um pouco ou antes de fazer o pedido, sao centenas de opcoes e para quem nao conhece comida Indiana, pode ser um pouco desapontador se voce pedir o prato errado.Voce consegue comer bem e beber um cerveja por £ 10-12 por pessoa. Vale a experiencia. Lembrando, a culinaria e' totalmente vegetariana.

my husband and I visited this restaurant after being direct her by close friends. we both live this place. We tried dosa first time here and wow, we loved it. We had to queue for about 10 minutes but the wait was well worth it. Very fast service Great food. Service is great and food is awesome and very reasonable. Only vegetarian but who needs meat when it's so yummy. Over all amazing beautiful food.

We went as a group of family and friends (about 10 adults) and decided to have niSouth Indian food. The dosa and puri and other tiffins were ok but the quality of the South Indian thali needs a special mention. I have put a picture of the payasam and you can see it was just milk+sugar and may be a couple of boiled semolina . Waste of money and time !!Waitress seemed to be disinterested anyways to serve customers.

This vegetarian restaurant has a very good choice of food. Even as a non-veg person I found myself wondering which if the many dishes to try.It is modestly priced and quantity served for the price is also okay.Sadly they have stopped doing takeaway, as 'they cannot cope in the kitchen'. Seems a shame as not everyone can stay and eat, so they must be losing out on a lot of business.The other annoyance, as with many other eating establishments, is the lack of willing to accept Amex. For the benefit of the restaurant, if you contact Amex you can negotiate a better rate and will be surprised that it may be less that your other cards!!! Sometimes it is these small things which spoil the whole experience. After some discussion with the manager and the fact that Amex was promoting them with the 'Shop Small' offer in December, he reluctantly agreed to taking the payment, after having said they 'don't' accept it. The seats are not the most comfortable, but they are okay and the ambience is fine. The food was otherwise enjoyable, served fresh and hot.

we ate here 3 times on our ppevious visit to london and was happy on all occasions. on two occasions we had channa bhature which was fresh and nicely puffed (they even gave us more channa when we asked). The other time we tried two curries (paneer makhani & veg butter masala) and 4 naans, both curries were fresh and the paneer was too overcooked which sometimes you can get in some restaurants. The place can be busy when you go in the later evenings and sometimes you have to wait a few mins for service but apart from that the staff are polite and service is fast. Recommend.

I enjoyed a South Indian Thali in the heart of London. The restaurant was absolutely full. We waited for 5 minutes to be seated and it was well worth the wait. Authentic South Indian meal with all the right flavours. It was a sumptuous meal with all the right varieties of dhals and vegetables. A great place to dine at an affordable price.

Saravanaa Bhavan in Tooting is a favourite of ours. Due to time constraints we were unable to get there so decided to go to the one in Southall.The first impressions were good: a free car park, nice decor and a menu with a more choices!But what came after wasn’t so good. We ordered pretty much everything we order at Tooting. Curd Vada, Chilli Paneer, 2 paper roast and vegetable noodles for our 9 year old son from the kids menu.We said that we’d have the starters and noodles first and then the paper roasts.I ordered the curd vada which I was really disappointed with. It was presented attractively but the dish was tasteless. In Tooting the yoghurt is whipped up and nicely flavoured. In Southall the Curd Vada is just immersed into a big plate of plain yoghurt. It was tasteless. My instinct was to send it back but my husband doesn’t like a scene My husband ordered the Chilli Paneer which he said didn’t match Tooting’s. I mixed some of it with my curd vada just to give it some flavour! My son ordered the vegetable noodles as he always does at Tooting. He took one spoon and said didn’t want any more because it was tasteless.Finally 2 paper roasts were thrown at us (go somewhere else if you expect service with a smile) and were stone cold! I like piping hot food. Again my instinct was to send them back but my husband wasn’t having any of it! Who was I to argue as he was the mug who was going to pay of the atrocious service and appalling food! All he kept saying is that he’ll never return! Finally when I went to use the toilet just before we were leaving and the restaurant was closing I found a member of staff cleaning the only ladies toilet! I had to insist on using it as being a diabetic I needed to!

I had ordered for Idly, Dosa and chana bhatura. All the three items were bad in taste. The Dosa n idly was blant, The chana sabzi was also not good. Overall we asked for spoons and water but it was ignored completely. Will never go again.

We really love going to Saravana Bhavan as its vegetarian restaurant and have loads of starters and main course options.Love the thali(South Indian especially).But there are certain things which needs to improve. To start with service, girls/ladies who serve the food do struggle to answer any questions related to the order/food.They might need a bit more training. Just a smile while serving the food, makes alot of difference.Toilets and sinks are most of the time dirty.If that's taken care of, its a wonderful restaurant.

We love going to this restaurant, because we always get to eat something new. It is always a surprise, and on top of that: there is no meat involved, even though I am a real meat lover! We love the fast service, even though sometimes the girls serving could be a bit friendlier.And what we certainly do not appreciate: getting our main before our starters, or everything at the same time, even when asked to bring it separately.The bill is always what we expect, so no surprises there.One thing I will not try again: the coffee. It just doesn't taste right. I'd rather have a Kashmiri tea/coffee, that is a real eye opener and makes your taste buds twinkle.

An hour by public transport from central London, this restaurant rewarded the investment of time. The menu offered a wide-ranging choice of mainly south Indian vegetarian dishes, but also included a variety of Chinese wok dishes. Service was helpful and prompt. The food was obviously freshly prepared, full of flavour and well-spiced; it was well presented and the ambience was comfortable and unflustered. Can't wait to further explore the dosas and more curries. Good value for money.

so good so well priced and so tasty, its a treat when ever in southall, so we order loads of starters ad loads of mains, we want to try everything. However much we say we want starters first and mains after. They just keep loading our table mains start coming first and then starters, there is no room for any more plates, the table is full with so many dishes and then they bring more and stand at our table holding dishes and alsking us where they should put the dishes. When we are at last eating deserts another starter comes up. Again the same question where should I put this. I think the concept is packem in and get em out quick, But please have respect for your ccustomers. I never see Mcdonalds or KFC (fast food outlets) treat people like this and when you tell them the waiters pretend not to understand.

We went there in a group as part of our trip. We had to choose between a North Insian or South Indian Thali. The food was cold and stale. South Indian was a mix and match on everyone plate and plus NO Dosa!!! Servicing staff were almost as sad as they would be at a funeral !!!! Sorry to sum it up .... Horrible ... The Kebab across the road are much better.

Avoid this restaurant. Went there yesterday and I have an upset tummy this morning.The food was not fresh, apart from the dosa. We had a North Indian thali, chilli paneer, vada with dhal and a plain dosa. The dhal, rice and veg curries were not fresh, even the chilli paneer was cold.I knew we should have not eaten it and sent it all back! We’re in a hurry to get to Heathrow. Never go there again.

Visited with family of 9 people on Friday evening to celebrate our anniversary. It was the best way to spoil our day by visiting the restaurant. The food quality was very bad and under standard. Nothing was tasty at all. Cold and hard naan which were served 15 mins before all the curries arrived. Paneer dosa was tasteless and watery. Northern Thalia was served with old and stale food. None of the food was fresh. Stale and tasteless food was served. Additional naan ordered never arrived on trying even 3 times. Staff was rude and cold. The cutlery was dirty and food left over on it. Ordered addional plates which had failry liquid and food stains on it as not washed properly. We will suggest not to visit this place it served tasteless and stale food for high price. We spend over £100 pounds and came home hungry as none of us eat properly. Next day we all had upset stomach. The worst food ever tasted. Please never visit with children or elderly due to bad quality of food.

We had lots of typically South Indian snacks for Sunday dinner. masala dosa, onion dosa, ldli Sambar, Puri Masala, gobi 65, mushroom 65 which were all very yummy and great flavours. Not sure the curry dishes but South Indian snacks are definitely good choice. Staff are very sweet. Salt lassi and mongo lassi were great afterward. We have been there at the least twice a year and it’s always good.

I have been to several Saravanaa Bhavan's in different countries, this one in South Hall is not so great in terms of taste and ambience. It was nostalgic to me as this place earlier used to be a Pub where we shot couple of scenes for a Movie.we had Dosa, idli and south Indian meals. the sambar was same for all and it not tasted like the authentic sambar at all. it was disappointing.service is ok, but the ambiance is boring

Have had meals here multiple times, good service and generous portions. Fab dosas. They refill your chutneys and Curries for free. And secure parking. Kadai paneer is also good and pineapple drink.

Fancied trying somewhere new and a Thai was on my mind. This restaurant was recommended to me by a grocer in Hounslow, they said there was nowhere good in Hounslow but I should try here. The food was nice with typical flavours you would expect from south Indian cuisine. The selection is extensive and the prices are good. Service was reasonable with friendly staff. The restaurant was very busy on a Sunday at 3pm. We were the only non Asian diners, so I think that says a lot about the authenticity of the food. The Thali is the second best I have had, Sangeeta in Hounslow has the edge over it. But it was nice and in true Indian tradition they offer unlimited refill, though we only managed to eat half of the one that was served! At around £7.50 it is great value. I'd say some chickpea in the Thali would be good and something sour also to give the full range of flavours. That said it was still very good. Chilli paneer was nice, masala dosa was very nice. Karahi vegetable was decent and the mushroom 65 was good, though I wish it wasn't served with tomato ketchup.... Tamarind dip, chilli dip and a yoghurt do would have been much more preferable. I'm still giving this restaurant a 5 as it was good and the ratings on TripAdvisor really don't do it justice.

We ordered medu vada, chilli paneer, rava dosa and masala dosa. Everything was good, the dosa was slightly thicker than other dosa places but overall the meal was very good, also, very cheap.

Awful North Indian Thali. Chapatti was hard and made of refined white flour. Vegetable dishes unpalatable. Masala dosa filling was mushy and not tasty - still sitting in my stomach. Really I can’t believe the positive reviews I was very disappointed.

All chutneys seemed a bit off/ Sambhar : GoodWhen I told the manager, he said he had tasted and the chutneys were made out of over ripe Coconut that had released oil but was still good. This is one of many branches of this chain. I have enjoyed many meals in them including one in Kuala Lampur.We went in for lunch, 3 of us. Reception was Ok. I saw all staff dressed in black trousers and white shirts, not relevant to a South Indian restaurant.We ordered veg Thali. This was served in a short time. The items were ok but not as varied and generous as in some other south indian restaurants. Rasam in particular was mild, and so were the veg curries.All in all not up to Saravana Bawan standard

On business in Southall I came in for lunch and had a very good South Indian thali. Some delicious dishes there so today I returned for the North Indian version. It was absolutely delicious. A very good soup to start then ten little bowls of loveliness. Every single dish was cooked with different spices and quite the best taste sensations I’ve had for a long while.Great service too

We were a group of four who visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The restaurant was very busy but there were lots of staff and our waitress took our order quickly. The problems started when the food arrived. The rice we had ordered with our curry didn’t arrive. After around 5 minutes, we eventually managed to get the attention of a different waitress to ask for the rice we had ordered. After 10 more minutes, it still hadn’t arrived so myself and my partner were sat left waiting to eat while the rest of our group ate their meals. After several attempts to get the attention of our waitress (who was clearly rushed of her feet), we asked again for the rice we had ordered. It was 15 more minutes before it arrived - a whole half an hour after our curry had arrived so it was cold and therefore disappointing. I appreciate that, when it’s busy, mistakes are made but it shouldn’t take asking three times and an extra half an hour to get a small plate of rice. The waitress also wasn’t apologetic and didn’t offer to heat up our food.More problems came afterwards when two of our group ordered black coffee and confirmed that this would come with no milk. Two white coffees with milk then turned up. We politely explained to our waitress that we had ordered black coffee and she disputed that and did not apologise or other to replace them. We had to ask again for black coffee with no milk. This time we got a black coffee (which was lovely) but only one so had to ask again for the other one then again 15 minutes later when it still hadn’t arrived. The food was ok and the prices reasonable enough but the service was appalling so we won’t be returning.

I ordered North Indian thali should have been different type of dishes but two were same taste poppardum was missing they said they forgot to put in the thali. Service very poor very bad experience no apology waste of money.Its not worth visiting the place.

Wow all vegetarian, loads of choices. Nice big dosa's. Will have bring our South Indian friends here.

For someone looking for Indian veggie South Indian food, this will satiate those buds, but in comparison to the really good South Indian restaurants (maybe even their own branches), this place is average.The paper roast was good, seemed huge but went down easy. The sambar was so-so.

Kind of regular to saravana bhavan. Awesome crispy Dosa , lot of varieties and the filter cofee is a must.

Nice and quick meal but only veggie, service is quick, some food is pre cook. But still pretty decent. I will come again.

Excellent dosa, medu vada, uttappa & idlee, but let down by the chutney and sambhar. Only for this reason will not recommend or return.

asked for 2 idle packs since we were 2 friends wanting to take it for our wives. got the take away preety quickly but when i dropped my friend in Uxbridge we realised they only gave us 1 samber and 1 set of chutneys.. how silly was that.
