Quick service, tasty food, good experience. No need to go to Chinatown to get tasty Chinese food. Polite customer service.

We saw this restaurant on our way to Chinatown from our hotel and went here instead-and we're so glad that we did. Great food. Really recommend.

The food is good but I will no longer be patronising this restaurant after fairly blatant racial discrimination. I'm a black guy but I've always been in with people who are visibly East Asian. I've been half a dozen times before. This happened Saturday 02 March 2024. At around 6am. It was very busy and I walked in with my Chinese British friend. She's much smaller than me (this is relevant). I stood in plain view at the front of the restaurant but slightly to the side to avoid blocking the passage way, and also to be closer to the counter (I'm over 6ft tall, I can't be missed). Being much shorter than me and also standing to the side my friend was not visible to the staff. There was an older gentleman keying in an order at the till about a foot away from me on the other side of the counter. I caught his eye but he looked away. I assumed he was busy. Looking further into the restaurant I saw an older woman and a younger waiter. Both caught my eye but carried on their conversation. In total I was stood there for nearing 5 minutes. As busy as it was, the staff had time to see me, but none moved to welcome me or check if I wanted a table. At this point you're doubtless thinking it's just a misunderstanding. I thought perhaps he didn't speak English and was waiting for someone else to attend me. What happened next proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt. Two Chinese girls came in behind us. The waiter moved almost immediately to greet them. He did not once look at me as he approached the front. But when he came level with me he saw my friend standing behind me and assumed she was with the girls. Making an expansive gesture, he said "三位？ " ("Table for three?" basically. I happen to have studied Mandarin). My friend immediately gestured towards me and the girls said they weren't with us. He did a double take, as if seeing me for the first time. He then turned back to them and invited them to be seated! The girls were clearly embarassed and confused because they recognised that we had been there first. Taken aback we just gestured for them to carry on and they sheepishly followed him deeper into the restaurant. He then returned speaking English now to say that "It's so busy, there are a lot of parties today." He then seated us at the takeaway table. To be clear, it's the table you sit at to wait for your takeaway order. It had no place settings and was about 3 feet away from the open door which was blasting freezing cold night air onto us. It was not a proper table and didn't have place settings or even have a table cloth on it. After about a minute of processing what had just happened we walked out. To make this clear: 1. I was completely ignored until he realised I was with someone Chinese. 2. We would have been a table for two. After being alerted to the fact that I was not a lone black male but "a real person" with a Chinese friend in need of a table for two, he actively chose to pass us over in favour of the two Chinese girls who just entered, both of whom clearly recognised that we were there first. THEY DID NOT HAVE RESERVATIONS. We both speak Mandarin and they never said they did, their body language and consternation at being served first confirmed it as well. 3. He then seated us at an incredibly substandard table, basically the worst seat in the house. There's really no excuse for this behaviour. He chose to ignore me while prioritising Chinese customers. Apparently hoping I'd just go away. If he thought I was there for some other reason then he could have simply asked. But beyond that, he then went out of his way to seat me/us at the crappiest table they have despite arriving before others. I will not be attending this place ever again as they clearly have disdain for black customers.

We had wondered about China Town, but it was heaving, our hotel was much nearer this place. One of the party uses a wheelchair. We warned them when booking. There is a step on entrance and WC are down stairs. They don’t have a £60 folding ramp for the front door. That’s a breach of equality access legislation. The waitress hasn’t been to charm school for sure. But was actually very efficient. For starters we had spring roll, fried dumpling, seaweed and the mixed cold platter. The black fungus, sliced pork and beef, or chicken, in chilli oil were outstanding. For mains we had sweet & sour chicken, sweet crispy pork, beef with chilli and scallops. The pork was amazing. The beef was exceptional. To eat here you need to be able to tolerate heat. Lots of chilli and chilli oil. We loved it.

Visited for dinner with wife and adult son. Agree with previous review that restraunt decor looks a bit shabby. However, we were greeted warmy (including by the lady in the last reviewers photo) and quickly given a table and menues. The food was fresh and tasted extremely good. Big servings Would ne happy to return.

My Wife and 8 members of family attended this restaurant like we have many times before but on this occasion a really rude waitress(we have photo I.D)actually just snapped the "Lunch Menus "from my wife's guests hands and said "We are not serving it because its Sunday, Yet there was a sign outside saying "Lunch menu from £8.80"and no days were excluded on the menu, this is NOT Legal and I will report it to both Camden Council and Trading standards. I even had reports that this Female waitress was swearing in Chinese.(yes some of my guests speak Chinese)

Walking past looking for something to eat and decided to give it a try! Service was good....food was amazing, tried some new dishes and was very pleasantly suprised. Portions were good...obviously we ordered too much!!! Looks a bit tired from the outside but the food is exceptional.

I had a dish of Chairman's Pork with a bowl of rice. It was very enjoyable despite the fact I was having an emotionally triggered gluttony. I used to have Drunked Cold Chicken here as well. All the food is well prepared. This place is arguably one of the Best Chinese Cuisines Restaurants in this neighborhood.

Had a meal here late on a Friday evening. Food was nothing special but not terrible. They charged us £2 for some tap water, which I am sure is illegal! What was bad was the service from one waitress, who told us "eat quickly yeah as we are closing in 30 mins" and then asked us to pay 25 minutes before closing time. When I pointed out that she was a bit rude, she started arguing and being unpleasant/arrogant. Overall, it just ruined the experience. It was not the relaxed atmosphere you hope for! Not recommended.

Have visited on a couple of occasions recently and staff have gone above and beyond to be helpful. Observing social distancing with reduced capacity whilst still managing to keep a great atmosphere within. The food is typical of London prices but is certainly worth a visit.

Great service and wonderful taste of their authentic Chinese cuisines. It is one place in Central London that is worth going. Their dishes are top quality. And great value for money. I can't wait to visit again with my friends & family soon.

Like no other Chinese restaurant in London I've been to (except perhaps their branch in Deptford) - Hunan cusine, heavy on chili and Szechuan pepper, dishes orange with the peppers, and such intense flavour! One of the most sheerly enjoyable meals I've had for quite a while. Try the Adventurous Dshes - the pigs kidney and livver was incredible, as were the dandan noodles. There was a wait for the soup, but we got complimentary drinks, with many apologies, and the service was very friendly. We'll be back.

I visited the Sanxia Renjia 29 Goodge Street London a Chinese restaurant for an evening meal as I was staying the night in London. This is my second time visiting this restaurant it being about a year ago I last used it. It’s a very busy place catering for both dining in and take away. I can understand why it’s busy and seems popular with Chinese people as well. The food is lovely and served well and timely. Your not rushed either. I had the Chicken and sweet corn soup and unlike other places I have eaten it was a really big bowl full - I loved it (it’s my favourite soup). The staff are friendly and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable for London. Definitely will visit again.

We ordered in advance as we were a group, to have everything ready. We had to wait a lot, some dishes even for an hour and having ordered already in advance. Food was ok, service the worst.

This is fairly average Chinese cuisine. We were quite impressed by the freshness and quality of meat and fish served, however, this is definitely not the best place to get real and tasty Sichuan dishes. The chicken and vegetable dishes were extremely delicious, Unfortunately, the fish was the biggest let down. It lacked the numbing feeling produced by Sichuan peppers (likely because there wasn’t enough of it). Overall we weren’t overly impressed by the food. The whole meal came to £125 including a couple of diet cokes which is very reasonable for the amount served. There are many other openings of this restaurant and I do recommend eating here if you want a quick fast fix but this is not the place to come for truly good chinese.

A unique experience of hot pot split into two types of broth...one is normal broth and the other a fiery chilly hot broth , accompanied by a huge platter of vegetables and glass vermicelli, squids, mushrooms etc. Eat as much and you order from menu the assorted meat and seafood. The meat is thinly sliced pork or beef. Then there are the sesame paste dip , fresh coriander, ginger bits and freshly cut red and green chillies. The broth gets topped up and the ferry broth gets less fiery so your palate won't feel the stinging spice that much by now. There was plenty to Eat so we didn't order extras. It's an experience you either love it or hate it. Service was friendly and the waiter explained what needed to be done to understand the hot pot way.

Wir haben das Restaurant spontan zu zweit an einem frühen Abend unter der Woche besucht. Das Restaurant ist etwas unscheinbar, wurde aber von vielen chinesischen Gästen besucht, was ich als gutes Zeichen werte. Der Service war freundlich und unaufdringlich (was in chinesischen Restaurants in London nicht selbstverständlich ist!!). Die Portionen waren ausreichend und machten satt. Keine hochstehende chinesische Küche, aber völlig OK. Das Sweet & Sour Chicken sowie das Kung Pao Chicken schmeckten uns. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier total.Wir würden wieder hier essen.

Servizio pessimo: il cameriere posava le posate come se fossero carta da buttare. Inoltre, sembrava che odiasse il dover servirci. They are thieves. Literally. We ordered food from deliveroo and they delivered somebody else's "Fish Head Soup". They they refused to rectify it and refused to refund the money and would only give a credit note. That is illegal as we have been charged but not received our order. We will be informing the police and trading standards but you just want your food right ? So save yourself the trouble and go to one of a hundred other restaurants in the area.

Ya que la temporada de invierno está tocando nuestras puertas y cada vez hace más frío afuera, pensamos que era hora de una olla caliente. Me encontré con este lugar el otro día y vi que la mayoría de los clientes son chinos, lo que obviamente es una gran señal y una indicación de que debe tener un sabor auténtico. Así que tuvimos una olla picante hoy y ambos la disfrutamos. Para el 22. 50 por persona tenemos una oferta de todo lo que puedas comer. Las raciones son enormes y la calidad de los ingredientes es excelente. Sin duda, uno de los mejores lugares de olla caliente que he estado en Londres. El personal es amable también! Based on reviews went to try out some favourite dishes to enable us to use local delivery services and make app orders for convenience. Almost all were chinese diners, good sign, and staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food all arrived as ordered very efficiently and was delicious flavour we've been searching for in the huge choice in London. 1/4 Duck pancakes generous for 2. Singapore noodles chilli heat just right and sizzling beef in ginger was cooked beautifully, wuth a couple of tigers each a £50 bill was very reasonable....doggie bag offered for the leftovers. Will definitely pop back in when not just needing a good takeaway.

Like a previous reviewer, I have reviewed this place before. I came with my family who haven’t eaten here before. They loved it as much as me. We especially loved the whole sea bass and kung po chicken. We really did order too much but the food was so delicious hardly any went to waste. I have absolutely no complaints about either service or the food. I’ll be back very soon!

Volver a lo básico, pero increíblemente bueno!

He revisado este antes, pero por pura coherencia de una gran comida no me importa examinar de nuevo. Hago un punto de tener algo diferente cada vez aquí y nunca me han decepcionado. No he encontrado nada que no me encanta. A pesar de que el servidor diciendo que pedimos demasiado, seguimos adelante de todas maneras y por supuesto no pude terminar pero lo puso amablemente a la izquierda en cajas de cartón para que pudiéramos disfrutar de otro día.

Amazing restaurant, with genuine authentic Szechuan dishes. There are also the classic Chinese dishes for those seeking less adventurous options.

Sanxia stands out immediately, at lunch time, in the culinary cornucopia that is Goodge Street. It's the queues that give it away, anything up to 25 metres of animated, largely East Oriental, young people waiting to get in. Sanxia handles them with a sort of frantic and efficient ease, slotting them into tables as they become vacant and handing over pre-ordered meals in a well-controlled hubbub. We had booked, probably the only ones to do so, and our table was waiting for us, the only non-Orientals in the place and far away the oldest! Service was cheerful, friendly and efficient. The menu at lunch time is amazingly long and varied with dishes from Central China that you just don't see in other Chinese restaurants. Presentation of the food when it arrives is great and you don't have to wait too long. Everything we had was different and delicious and generous. Wonderful lamb, prawn and vegetables, none of which survived to go back. The prices, for Central London, are very reasonable indeed as is the wine list. Can't wait to go back.

the location very good. the enviroment nothing luxurious.the personnel efficient and polite.the menu varity very rich. the food very tasty and especially the lobster. i highly recommend this restaurant.

If you are not Chinese and you go here, then there is a good chance that you are the only non-Chinese person in here. That is as good an indication as you can have that you will get a good and authentic Chinese meal. I have been coming here for over 5 years now and every time it seems to get better, its absolutely delicious. I would advise trying something you don't normally have in a Chinese which caters for English taste (i.e. don’t just order chicken curry, etc.) and you will probably discover your new favourite chinses meal. Its good value as well. Its literally around the corner from Goodge Street tube station which is on the northern line, or 10 minutes’ walk up Tottenham court road from TCR tube station.

Sanxia has to be one of the most exquisite tasting Chinese restaurants i've ever had the pleasure of dining at....

I ordered the hot and sour noodle, which comes with the glass noodle in the soup however when it arrives it is all dry out, only noodles with no soup at all and the noodles are extremely sticky . The bowl is so small it barely can hold all the noodles , it basically becomes canned dry noodle! Very disappointed

Asistieron al azar este lugar con cuatro amigos tarde el viernes. Me sorprendió gratamente y diría que Sanxia como al menos tan buena como en cualquier otro sitio que he estado en la ciudad de China. Todo lo que pedimos fue un éxito pero disfrutamos especialmente el doble de carne de cerdo cocidos/que fue excepcional y el seco de cerdo frito Frijoles franceses con picada. El vino también era sorprendentemente bueno!

The restaurant is definitely not a place worth the money you have to pay. They charge £60 just to use the karaoke room. You need to spend more than £150 in order to have food. Is a funny protocol they have in order to access to the karaoke room. One of my friends ordered a soup which was really really bad. Not tasty at all. We had a problem with the karaoke that didn't work. Unfortunately they just have two rooms for that.On the way downstairs to the karaoke rooms is a bit smelly , and the facilities down there look dirty. I wouldn't be comfortable eating there , I m myself a very fussy person with smells and dirty places. The restaurant at the top , look packed with people. Tables really closed to each other. Not a place for me thank you. I don't recommend it. Good luck.

My wife and I ate here after seeing An American In Paris at the nearby Dominion Theatre. The food served here is very unlike the Hong Kong / Cantonese Chinese in China Town, it is really spicy. We shared soft shell crab and a very spicy prawn dish and had Singapore Noodles (also very spicy). The prawns were in their shell, the waiter checked that we were OK with this, it means it is messy but the flavors were great. All were washed down with Chinese beer and we left very happy, we had no problems with the service even when mostly Chinese guests arrived and the restaurant became nearly full. I recommend this restaurant if you like spicy flavorsome food.
