I had the pleasure of dining at the Santo Mare restaurant with some friends and I can say that the experience was truly excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming and refined, perfect for a quiet evening. The staff were extremely courteous and attentive, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived, especially the receptionist Camilla who not only did her job impeccably but was very kind and it was a pleasure to meet her. As for the food, each dish was a delight for the palate: fresh ingredients and balanced flavours. Furthermore, the prices are adequate for the quality of the dishes. So I can't say anything other than I highly recommend trying this restaurant!

I went to Santo Mare on my last trip to London and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the highlights of my visit. The restaurant has a really welcoming atmosphere. The service was impeccable. The staff was super helpful, especially Camilla at the reception, always smiling and kind, she gave me excellent advice on dishes and wines. The food was excellent, the fish fresh and tasty, it is very rare to find an Italian restaurant abroad that serves quality food, which is why I would highly recommend it. Santo Mare is definitely an option not to be missed if you are visiting London.

The lobsters are so fresh and absolutely delicious—I couldn’t get enough. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with soft Italian music that just sets the mood perfectly. I felt funny after eating the sea food platter and now I’m vomiting, I had a feeling it wasn’t fresh ,, I came in at 6:30 table name Lamees … I have been here so many times but today was bad

Food was ok though the standard in the past 3 years has gone down significantly. However overall dissapointing. Last time we dine in this place. The bill had 15% service charge added on top already but when they brought the machine a minimum tip of 12.5% was also requested on top. I wonder if they scam like this their Italian compatriots as well. Suffice to say that we will never return to dine here.

Very lovely experience. One of the best Italian restaurants in London. The pasta were very good. The gnocchi is one of the best ones I had. However, the raw fish were not seasoned enough. The dessert were especially wonderful, the handmade tiramisu and pistachio ice cream is a must. Just a note that the price is quite expensive compare to many Italian restaurants in town.

I ate Ravioli, it's a bit expensive considering the quality and performance.

Excellent food and great service

I recently visited this restaurant with my girlfriend for her birthday, expecting a special experience, but unfortunately, the service fell far short of expectations. We arrived at 5:30 pm, just over two hours before a show we were seeing later that night, thinking we had plenty of time. Initially, we requested the sea bass with roasted potatoes, however, the wait for our food was a staggering 40 minutes, despite the restaurant being almost empty, with only three or four other tables occupied. When the sea bass finally arrived, the roasted potatoes that were meant to accompany it were missing. After waiting another five minutes, as we thought they were potentially still cooking the potatoes, we flagged this with the waiter, who seemed surprised and then consulted his colleague, only for us to overhear, “What potatoes?” Clearly, the potatoes had been forgotten. It then took over 10 minutes for them to be cooked and served. By this time, the fish had gone cold. This was deeply frustrating, especially as my girlfriend wanted to enjoy the dish as a complete meal, not separately as eating just fish and then just a plate of potatoes after wouldn't be ideal. The food itself tasted great however we did leave a hungry. Hoping to salvage the experience, we ordered ice cream for dessert. Strangely, the waiter informed us it would take 12 minutes to prepare. This seemed odd for something so simple. In reality, it took 15 minutes, and when it arrived, it was just ice cream, no additional garnish or presentation to justify the delay. What should have been a leisurely, celebratory meal turned into a rushed experience due to the numerous delays, leaving us scrambling to pay the bill and make it to our show on time (we were 15-mins late and missed the opening act, which again was disappointing for a birthday occasion and solely the responsibility of the restaurant and its delay). For a meal that cost £154, including a service charge we accidentally paid in our haste, the overall experience was deeply disappointing. I hope this feedback encourages the restaurant to improve its service standards, as this fell far short of what one would expect at this price point and reputation.

Mi marido no disfrutó de los ñoquis con camarones debido a la salsa "inusual", pero mi fetichismo era excelente. Vimos al personal poner una gran exhibición de pescado fresco de todo tipo. Los camareros eran geniales y hacían buenas recomendaciones sobre vino y comida.

Fresh, quality fish in a nice setting. Unfortunately, the service was really disappointing. Never got asked if we wanted more water or wine despite empty glasses. Took them 20 minutes to clean the table. Didn't even say thank you when I paid. And they charghe 15% for this.

We ate here during our trip to London last week and the food was exceptional. They get their fish fresh and quick-shipped from waters on the Italian coast and the difference is notable. My husband and I split the salt-crusted cod and it was the flakiest, lightest, most subtly flavorful fish experience I have ever had. The staff were friendly. Our server was a little less versed on details of the menu than one would imagine, given the polish of this place, but he was also kind and friendly and overall efficient. (I had to debone my own cod the very next night at another place and was even more grateful for the time he took to get it right.) The dessert was ridiculously too generous, but that was not a hardship, except that I hate to contribute to food waste.

Plates are well served, so no need for appetizer for a regular person. Food is ok for the price. The worst part is that not only they add a mandatory 15% tip, their machine also asked me for tip ON TOP of the tip they have already added to the bill, which is so furtive, as people may not notice that.

Went there because La petit poissionnerie (nearby very good local down-to-earth fish restaurant) was closed. I was in need of a quick dinner. I ordered grilled squid with Italian broccoli as a side dish. The squid was likely not fresh but frozen, then it becomes rubbery and dry. It came with dry lettuce, just like that. And it was way too much (see picture). And the broccoli turned out to be spinach. A chef without fantasy and creativity who thinks that large portions make up for it. Maybe that's why there were many American tourists. Not recommendable.

Los ñoquis no fueron inspiradores. Cocino italiano en casa y cuando mi Vongole sabe mil veces mejor que esto, es un fracaso para mí y sobre todo porque este plato cuesta mucho dinero. 3 . He notado que su sitio web no tiene precios en él. Eso es porque es caro para lo que es. Estaría dispuesto a pagar £ 18 o más por un plato de pasta si fuera de este mundo, pero no si es promedio. Denn es gab nur Spinat als Beilagen, Brokkoli und Chicorée wurden verkauft, waren aber auch Spinat. Wie kann man nur soo dreist sein und immer wieder darauf bestehen, es waren die Beilagen gewesen. Frech. Das überdeckte dann das eigentlich gute Hauptgericht. Isgesamt aber auch vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht in Ordnung. Besser meiden, denn wirklich ein Verarscheladen.

Santo Mare offers simple and authentic Italian cuisine, highlighting incredible produce in every dish. The mint linguine was excellent, and the red prawn tartare was impressively fresh. However, the tuna carpaccio and the octopus were both unnecessary. The octopus was steamed instead of grilled and cut in a way that made it taste like rubber, unlike a whole tentacle that's grilled, which allows you to enjoy the crispiness on the outside and the soft texture inside. To their defense, they did say that next time they’ll be able to accommodate a grilled octopus the way we like it. The clam spaghetti was good, but the standout dish was the Gnocchi with red shrimp, which was absolutely perfection. For dessert, the pistachio ice cream and tiramisu were phenomenal—perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and not overpowering. The staff are kind and knowledgeable, and the wine selection is extensive. Santo Mare is definitely worth a visit!

I confirm the experience of many others - excellent food but disappointing service given the prices and the atmosphere of the place. Sin. We will definitely return given the quality of the fish but they should see some of their younger waiters who don't want to work too much. I would have preferred the service charge to be discounted given that I pointed out to our waiter that he had repeatedly abandoned us during service, for more than 40 minutes at a time...

Awful service which ruined the meal. We ordered champagne and they brought the glasses over and then we had to wait 25 mins for the champagne to follow. Food was average at best too. We had to beg for the bill + they added a hefty service charge on to it too. Wouldn’t ever return

I recently dined at Santo Mare in London, and my experience was disappointing, to say the least. While the starters were acceptable and offered a decent beginning to the meal, the main course was an utter letdown. We ordered the seafood risotto, which we had to send back initially because it was bland and lacked flavor. When it returned, there was no noticeable improvement. The dish remained tasteless and almost inedible. Given the restaurant's reputation and the prices they charge, this was wholly unacceptable. Overall, the lack of quality in the main course overshadowed any positives from the starters. I expected much more from Santo Mare and was thoroughly disappointed.

We went to Santo Mare to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We had high expectations about the food and I must say that in principle they were all respected: fresh raw materials, delicious, elegant dishes despite the generous portions. “Italian” flavours, all really excellent. Too bad about the service… the waiter who took care of our table was anything but a professional waiter. We took 2 tartares and a plate of raw ham as a starter and as a first course a plate of tagliatelle with lobster and one of gnocchi with prawns and pecorino. He commented on the choices of dishes made “ah also the raw plateau?! Kill it!”, we wanted to have a carpaccio with the tartare but he told us “don't forget it, the portions are generous!”. So we wanted to order the second one too and again "for two guys it's really a lot of stuff, I don't think you'll finish it! Let it go." Ok, since he has discouraged us, we don't take anything else... at the end of lunch, however, he asks us if we wanted dessert. I immediately exclaim “yes! We'll take it” and he comments “kill! You immediately said yes! I would buy you a dress but I wouldn't take you to a meal." Silence fell... then he recovered by saying "sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, it's just that I'm Roman and I love joking!". I would have liked to ask him what the connection was between being Roman and being rude but I preferred to leave it alone, finish lunch and leave. What can I say, he did exactly what a waiter shouldn't do: discourage customers from ordering, take confidences that were never given, be intrusive at the table (he always came to talk to us about his business, his ex, etc. but leave us alone! We are celebrating the our anniversary!) and even make rude jokes. We were disappointed, we expected quality service exactly like the food served but unfortunately this was not the case. Note of merit instead for the receptionist and the sommelier, very kind and attentive.

Just had a weird experience, I had made a booking not knowing I had to confirm via email so I called them to see if I’m able to walk in and the hostess confirmed and said I can only have 1.5hr which I agreed to, I arrived 10minutes later exactly for her to tell me I’m late explaining to me that the kitchen won’t be able to accommodate which I know isn’t true because I’m a chef and know this system. I tried to tell her my mother couldn’t walk faster and I already know what to order which saves time but still said no. It’s just plain mean to confirm, have my old mother walk with me for them to change their minds 10 mins later. P.s the restaurant was at 50% capacity it def could have accommodated us. Shame cause their food looks good

Space seafood restaurant! The former are exceptional, with an honorary mention for the pacchero. Also worth trying is the prawn tartare, of excellent quality, and if you have room at the end of the dinner the pistachio ice cream is a real treat. The venue is romantic, well-kept, suitable for a dinner for two and for special occasions. The tables are very close to each other and this creates some difficulties in serving and keeping dishes on the table. The dining room staff, almost all Italian, are knowledgeable and courteous. The prices are high, but fair for the quality offered.

After 10 years since I moved to London from Italy I've finally found a real Italian fish restaurant. I felt like home again. My preferred in London.

This restaurant is always on my go to list but it won’t be anymore. My friends and I were planning to have a celebration dinner on the 6th Feb 2024 and my friend had made a table booking. We arrived there at 7:20pm and we were greeted by a female receptionist. She searched our booking on the system and said ‘there is no such name and we are fully booked’ , which sounded rude already. So my friend was trying to check the booking record on the phone and this receptionist said we were on the way of the door and just urged us to leave. It was raining outside at that time and she didn’t exhibit any intention of helping or checking if she could accommodate us as it was a Tuesday night and we could see many tables available. We ended up found out my friend had made a wrong booking, but we were just not expecting this service at this fine restaurant as it positions itself. I worked in customer service myself and I will never speak to a customer like that. Maybe their staff need better training?

Now our best favorite fish restaurant in London! If you want a warm service and delicious food , big portions and attention to any detail this is the right place for you! We spent the Christmas lunch here and we felt like at home with friends. Service so attentive! We can't wait to come back again! We tried frittura the best ever in our Life, risotto with frutti di mare, paccheri, cicoria e calamari, Tiramisu espresso (mouthwatering!!) And tortino al cioccolato. Everyone was amazing but a particular thank you to Nikola and Sebastiano! Highly recommend it!

Best fish restaurant in London for date and dinner. I tried the most popular food over there, was so delicious. Thank to everyone especially Chakir the waiter that help us during our dinner.

We had dinner with my wife there last week and i must say we really enjoyed it. It was an excellent experience. From our friendly host, Gianni, to the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant and the fresh seafood. We are truly thankful for such a lovely evening and we'll definitely come again.

Buena comida. Pero en la tónica de la ciudad de Londres, caro y por lo que que dan. Cuando pagar más de 400 libras por una comida decente se hace usual, es que algo falla en general.

Good Italian, but service was horrible. My family was celebrating a birthday, but one of the waiters kept rushing us to leave to let another table sit down.
