Santa Lucia Merchant City in Glasgow City

Went for my friends 21st was lovely food and atmosphere, we were served by the lovely Paulina who made it extra special :)

Had an early dinner with family. Pasta main courses were ok, but starters were very disappointing. I had bruschetta with mushrooms and gorgonzola. It was lukewarm and tasted like it had been preprepared and reheated. Every part of it was dry, and it was lukewarm. The focaccia was huge, and likewise not very fresh. Pasta main courses were better, but not great. Wines by the glass only came in 250ml, no option for smaller glasses. There are so many good, authentic Italian restaurants in Glasgow. This isn't one of them.

Classy, well appointed restaurant with excellent service and great food, particularly pasta. King Prawn dish was excellent. Prices were very reasonable.

We had a wonderful 70th birthday meal at Santa Lucia yesterday afternoon. We were a large party with a wee toddler and a child in a wheelchair but the staff could not have been more welcoming. Booked Santa Lucia for 15 people for a family meal for a birthday celebration. The experience was amazing from start to finish. Ricardo oversaw the booking and pre ordering. He even looked after a birthday cake that I sneaked in before arrival and was so helpful with any queries I had. The service on the day was excellent and a big thank you to Paulina who looked after us yesterday. The food was super fresh and absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was just brilliant! Thank you so much to Ricardo and Paulina and the rest of the staff at Santa Lucia for looking after us and for getting the full restaurant involved in singing Happy Birthday when they brought the cake out. It made our day and we will definitely be back. 😁

We enjoyed a family meal earlier this week and I have so say I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. The service was fantastic (Thank you Jennifer), the food was delicious and they were wonderful with our children. Thank you so much.

This restaurant never disappoints. Such a good atmosphere and decor is lovely. Staff were friendly and efficient. Our waitress Paulina was so nice and helpful. Food is excellent, cost is average for drinks and two courses each for 4people. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Had a fabulous dinner for our last night in Scotland. Great atmosphere with live music playing. Wonderful service but the highlight was the food. We had the burrata pizza to start. A true Neapolitan pizza with fresh garlic and a delicious crust. We each also had a pasta dish, baked lasagna and the casarecce with nduja. Too full for dessert! Enjoyed our wine before strolling back to our hotel happy as could be.

The food was excellent. They accommodated even the pickiest easter at our table with a smile. The restaurant is comfortable and has very cute decor on the ceiling.

A beautiful restaurant that’s full of character. With a relaxed setting, being accommodated without a booking and the service being fast, efficient and friendly, I thoroughly recommend here whatever the occasion.

Needed a quick main course and spotted Santa Lucia had plenty of people sitting both inside and outside and had a nice buzz about it. It was only 6.30pm but we were seated quickly and enjoyed a very nice tomato & Garlic bread. We both chose pasta and it was very, very, delicious. We were served by Paulina & Paco who were both cheery and attentive. Really enjoyed our meal here and would certainly return.

Suns out for sitting outside with a nice bowl of pasta and a couple of beers. 😎 Not your usual Italian menu. Service is quick and food is fresh and flavourful.

Arranged a large group booking today for my sisters hen lunch. The staff were absolutely amazing. Food was gorgeous and every was soo impressed with the meal. Our waiter Ricardo was a real credit to the restaurant, a lovely, kind and very attentive to our table. He was so nice and even brought a wee slice of cake to “bring attention to the bride”, which was absolutely unexpected but an amazing touch. Well we researched for ages to choose a good city centre Italian restaurant. This place is spot on from start to finish. Pros: The welcome you receive at the door. The bright clean decor. The way you are treated throughout your dining experience. The cocktails and wine. The way they welcome families with young children. The delicious food. The friendly non intrusive checks that your meal is good and that you have everything you need. Cons: Absolutely nothing! Thank you Murrin for a lovely evening and professional service. This place runs like clockwork - don’t miss it !

First visit and it won’t be our last. Lunch menu is excellent value for money offering a great selection of options. The focaccia is like a little pillow of tastiness. Pasta is cooked to perfection and the sea bass was excellent. The house wine is very reasonably priced. The affogato is the best we’ve had outside of Italy - perfect gelato and strong espresso. Staff are friendly and professional. Paulina looked after us very well and was very patient. Despite the restaurant filling up in the afternoon we didn’t feel rushed at all. An absolutely delightful experience and I can’t wait to return.

Our first time dining at Santa Lucia and it was fabulous. Amazing experience from start to finish as soon as we walked into the restaurant we were greeted with smiles and our coats were taken to be hung up. The lunch deal is amazing value for money where you can get 2 courses for around £13. We all cleared our plates the food was just divine. The staff were so attentive especially Ricardo, what a helpful gentleman! We can’t wait to dine here again. Highly recommend!

We went to Santa Lucia for lunch on our break in Glasgow. The lunch was fantastic value and the quality was excellent with the wine extremely reasonably priced as well. The decor of the restaurant makes it a welcoming venue and the atmosphere was great. The staff were fantastic, professional and friendly in particular Paulina. Would recommend eating here if you get the chance while you are in Glasgow.

Food was so bad. Please don’t order pasta arrabbiata…..my pasta was way undercooked and visually looked like chopped up lasagne sheets, went to celebrate a birthday, after seeing all the reviews, was really looking forward to food and cocktails, but it was just so disappointing.

Upon being seated at our table for my daughter’s 18th birthday, the service that we received from the waitress was very abrupt and unfriendly. There was no effort to make us feel welcomed and every interaction with her felt as if we were a burden. This did improve when another member of staff served our table, who was much more friendly. I wish that we had received friendly service from the member of staff who took our order.

We went for a dinner on Valentine’s day. The Valentine’s deal was very good value getting us a 3 course meal and a drink! Our waiters, Bilal and Adil, were very attentive and professional. They also recommended us great dishes from the menu. Overall it was a fantastic experience!

Visited this restaurant last night for the first time whilst on a trip to Glasgow as we live in England, I had been doing my research on the best restaurants from the food myself and 6 others was wanting, I’d researched the best truffle pasta as 3 of us are big truffle fans! Only once we was seated and already had our drinks, the staff came over to take our order .. first person wanted a pizza, no ingredients available for that pizza. 3 of us ask for truffle pasta. No truffle available. Then asked for carbonara pasta.. No spaghetti available only rigatoni. As you can imagine everyone is now very disappointed before we have even received any food, I would like to say all the food we did end up having was very nice and flavourful, it was just a shame our first visit was like this as it would now put me off visiting again as we should have been told before even being seated (or even on the phone on booking) that there is a limited menu due to not restocking the food

I visited with friends for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The set menu was very reasonable although limited dessert options so we picked from A la Carte menu for desserts. The service was friendly, food was nice and the decor is lovely. I haven't been for years but will return again soon I'm sure.

What I can say? I’m always coming back for meals and for amazing atmosphere, and always I get something different and always the food is amazing most my favourite meal is pasta 🍝 but I try some different dishes and honestly I will recommend all dishes. Is not only amazing food but also amazing wine and cocktails. And about service? Beyond exceptional. We have been coming here for around 15 years, before Santa Lucia was born… always been great, however this now is hands down on of the best food experiences in Glasgow. The team that have been there for years, including the amazing Paco are just first class l! However when mixed with the new decor, incredible menu and service that exceeds expectations- then this place should be in the Top 10. Great menu, the set menu is value and great choices wrapped into one. Advice: book in advance to prevent disappointment and second piece of advice, speak to Paco, his banter is first class, a gentleman. World class restaurant at reasonable prices!

Modern clean restaurant lovely decor and facilities throughout. A warm welcome on arrival friendly curtious staff . Pizza and pasta dishes cooked to perfection. Also a wide menu. Delicious food and attentive staff. The mussels were fresh and plump and the seabass cooked beautifully. Together with a glass of prosecco, a perfect lunch in nice surroundings.

After seeing all the hype on social media the past few weeks I decided to hop on the trend and give Santa Lucia a go on Saturday night and I can defo say it did not disappoint!! For starter I ordered the Lasagne Fritta which was genuinely the star of the show, this was amazinggg!! The portion was so big though so might be a good idea to get this to share if you visit😂 I did manage it myself though. Fiance ordered the Suppli Al Telfono which was deep fried rice balls in tomato sauce with mozerella stuffed inside, this was gorgeous too! Acttually it tasted quite similar to the lasagne Fritta. For mains I ordered the pollo Al Milanese which was fabulous, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the pasta was soo delish! fiance had the Diavola pizza which was cheese & meat pizza which he thoroughly enjoyed. Chips were so fab too as was the garlic bread. But omggg the garlic mayonaise in here was 10/10 - tasted home made and I genuinely could have eaten it with a spoon 😂 Then we also managed to squeeze in a desert and ordered the pistachio tirimasu as we both LOVE tiramisu. This was honestly one of the best I’ve ever tasted it was DELISH. Defo recommend here to anyone looking for an itallian in town as the decor & vibes we’re immaculate in here ✨🫶🏼

Instagram page looks fabulous, but experience was far from it. Food was poor and lukewarm. Portion sizes small. Starter was cold. Scallops over cooked. Pasta was chewy. The pistachio dessert was just wrong - horrible. Highly disappointing. Price wasn’t bad but overall I won’t be back. One of friend group was ill later and not related to alcohol can only assume it was something he ate.

We were a party of 14, had to pre order from a set menu. Service was very good good but overall the opinion was the food was lukewarm and average at best. Also poor value for money.

Another excellent experience at Santa Lucia. Starters, I had the deep fried lasagne followed by the chicken Milanese. Hubby had the bruschetta al funghi followed by carbonara. Both courses so tasty and perfect sized portions. Staff lovely, they always are. We’re regulars here and the restaurant never fails to come up trumps. Definitely worth a visit.

We were a group of about 60. A set menu that was pre-selected. Service was well executed and efficient. Friendly staff and delicious food, even for such a large group. Overall a great experience and would definitely return next time in Glasgow.
