The team are super attentive but not intrusive, though surprisingly no check in post plate arrival. Towards the higher end cost wise but thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. All the dishes were really tasty with 3 in particular that were stunning.

The food was exceptional, service on point and very attentive, great quality drinks. Not rushed at all. A sharper knife would have been appreciated for the lamb. High price but excellent for a special occasion which ours was. Very much recommended.

What can I say!! Absolutely loved this place,the food was fantastic,next level.Very warm welcome,lovely decor,nice relaxing music in the background,such friendly staff.But over all this is the food,taster menu and we loved the lot.

Definitely worth taking a short walk away from the city centre to eat here. The food is excellent. We had the 6 course taster (one of which was vegetarian) Portion sizes are just right so you don’t feel sluggish afterwards. This was our second visit and we had another brilliant evening with a completely different menu to the last time we came. The atmosphere is relaxed and while the service might be a little slower you need to remember that you aren’t coming here to eat in a hurry, but instead just enjoy being here. You aren’t rushed out the door like in other places. There’s a couple of decent pubs opposite too for a pre/post dinner drink too.

First visit, to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and really impressed! Had the 6 course taster menu, with paired wine, followed by cheese and port. Lovely surroundings, and relaxed atmosphere. Each course had interesting well balanced flavours. Would struggle to pick a favourite course! The quality and attention to detail was excellent. The wines were well matched. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. They bent over backwards to accommodate our gluten free requirements, and didn't feel we received second rate alternatives (which we have experienced at other restaurants). A special evening, would recommend.

We ate the 6-course, which was the best tasting menu we have experienced in a decade - up there with Whites in Beverley and The Oxford Kitchen in their heydays. The wine flight was made affordable by some very judicious selection of moderately-priced wines. Great service and a good atmosphere. We'll be back - with friends.

We lucked out with a last minute booking, having arrived in the city early evening and googled. Amazing food (one of us had vegetarian, one regular 6 course menus); nice wine pairings; good unfussy service; good unfussy decor and ambience. A real gem.

The food we had at Sans Patrie is some of the best I have ever had, and better than some Michelin restaurants I have eaten at over the last couple of years.  Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great atmosphere and sensational food.  Not too rich or salty which is what most restaurants seem to go for nowadays.  We will be back as soon as possible.

A quaint restaurant just out of Nottingham city Center. Although the restaurant doesn’t quite fit in amongst the food chains around it, it really is a great find! We went for the 5 course winter tasting menu. My partner added caviar to his second dish. The restaurant was just what we wanted, it was a relaxed way to enjoy fine dining. The service was super, the team where very attentive & really made us enjoy the experience. We couldn’t believe the size of the kitchen, as the dishes produced are phenomenal! Excellent food and service. A bit pricier than last time we were there in autumn ‘22, but that reflects the increase in the cost of living since then. Would highly recommend and will return again soon.

Is this the best meal I've ever had? Potentially. Not only did the food massively live up to expectations, but the service was phenomenal, and the vibes/decor of the place was great for a special occasion. We've never had a tasting menu before, and it was great eating a meal that had each course specially designed to flow into one another, with flavour combos I'd never have thought to do myself, but worked perfectly. The standout dishes for me were the pumpkin ricotta tortellini starter, and the caramac namelaka. Every dish was outstanding, but these are two plates of food I think I'll remember for the rest of my life. Thanks again for the brilliant experience, we'll 100% be back.

Dinner. Six course tasting menu We have dined here on numerous occasions since the day they opened. It was the first restaurant we visited after lockdown. This is also our first tasting menu of the New Year. Dining options are Five courses available Tuesday to Friday evening and Saturday lunch £60. And a six course £70 which we chose. They also offer a wine pairing. If you really want to go for it, there's an excellent cheese course £15. This menu has got to be chef Keelan's best yet. To start the evening off, you are served a snack and a plate of warm bread accompanied by a delicious marmite butter. The first course was a fresh Pumpkin Ricotta Tortellini. The next course was Potato Confit smoked bottarga cream,cured egg,savoy cabbage, tarragon. This dish was so good,if we were just served a massive bowl of these, we would have been more than happy. But that would be ridiculous, wouldn't it? Well, we did have a tasty scallop course, a main course of Beef Rump Surf n' Turf and dessert still to go. It's amazing that such good food comes out of a small kitchen. For those who are not familiar with this way of dining out, it's a good way of trying it out to see if it suits. It means everyone on your table has the same, and there's no food envy of fellow diners for a dish that you wish you had ordered. You can't really call this a hidden gem as it's located on Alfreton Road at Canning Circus. It's a gem but not so hidden. Thank you to the very talented Chef Keelan and his team for another great evening.

we went here for my husband’s birthday. the food, wine & service was great from start to end. my husband is gluten free & allergic to fish so it can be tricky picking a place to eat a but sans patrie catered to both issues with their gluten free bread options & vegetarian menu with very little changes to ensure we didn’t get any fish served! it was an excellent night & we will definitely be visiting again.
