Beautiful cafe with amazing food!

Absolutely outstanding food and service. I booked a table for my fiancé's birthday and I was blown away. We did the 6 course midweek taster menu and the quality of food was incredible. Portions were far bigger than I have had before in other fine dining restaurants. The service was impeccable right from the welcome to us leaving. I cannot wait to go here for their autumn/winter menu.

Excellent taster menu, really interesting wine pairings; you leave feeling you've had a great meal without feeling overly full. The decor is just brilliant!

Celebrated our 18 year wedding anniversary and had a great time! Food was delicious, water @ £5 a bottle a tad expensive, not sure I would include Sorbet as a course but it made your mouth tingle! Would probably order a good bottle of wine vs wine pairing as I didn’t like the desert wine (personal taste).

2nd time here and another great experience! We had the festive menu and enjoyed all the unique dish’s packed with flavour. Great service and atmosphere Only criticism is the tall stools are rather uncomfortable after 2hrs.

We went there as a party of four people a couple of weekends ago. I must say I was hugely impressed with the whole set up. We opted for their tasting menus - one for vegetarians, and one for meat eaters. The food was fantastic and the service was attentive in the best possible way, and certainly was never overbearing or unnecessary. The overall surroundings of the restaurant were delight to be present in. Everything was spotlessly clean, and I would certainly have no hesitation in not only eating there again, but in fully recommending Sans Patrie to others

An inspired vegan menu in a welcoming environment.

Had an excellent experience at Sans Patrie. Staff were welcoming, the decor is relaxing and warming and the food was all incredible, even the courses I didn't think I'd be fussed on, were 😍. Can't wait for an excuse to go again.

We heard about Sans patrie through social media, we had an amazing experience, we had the 6 course tasting menu, with the wine pairing, we were made to feel at ease from the moment we walked in, the food and wine was Incredible, we will definitely be returning. I would highly recommend trying here.

Had a great experience on Saturday night, a 5 course tasting menu with the win pairings. Each of the courses were fab and every single wine was spot on and complemented the course perfectly. The atmosphere was great, the staff lovely and the value for money for this quality of food was spot on.

We absolutely loved our experience at Sans Patrie and will definitely be back. The food was exceptional and the wind pairings were great. I loved the mushroom soup and I am absolutely not a mushroom fan. I couldn't fault a single course!

First time here and loved this place. Was a Thursday evening and not that busy but did not stop us having a great 6 course tester menu. Could not decide which was the best course all brilliant. And the service was great too. Defo want to go again and enjoy the food again.

ordered 6 course tasting menu for valentine's day. only 1 of the 4 dishes that were meant to be served hot was even luke-warm. All the meat in every meat dish was overcooked. the flavours were nice in some of the dishes. But I think all the chefs had covid at some point because all their taste buds must be messed up to create some of the dishes they made. Cocktails were watered down.

I'm not the first, but this was our first time visiting Sans Patire. Friendly, efficient staff. Beautiful food. We booked again for a larger group that night which they were wonderfully helpful with. AMAZINGLY good value - £55 for a six course tasting menu. The surprise dish was the dessert which on paper did not look like my thing at all, but it was a revelation. Will definitely be repeating our visit soon.

My partner and I went to Sans Patrie for our anniversary. On arrival, we sat down and couldnt hear eachother speak. My partner asked if the music could be turned down (we are both in our 20s so hopefully still have good hearing). The staff member appeared confused and did turn down the music a fraction, but we limited the talk because we couldn't really understand eachother. It was a sunny day and it was very bright too. I brought the wine pairing and my partner (who doesn't drink) brought soft drinks. We felt forgotten about most of our meal, we waited +30 minutes between each course. The wine pairing was served later than the dishes and the waitress brought two servings even though we had only ordered one. One of the courses was missed out completely and then when we asked about why we hadn't had it... the waitress picked up a plate that had been sitting on the side for our whole meal and gave it to us explaining that they were doing things in a different order that evening. The plate was what I could only describe as a lump of cheap smoked salmon with rice crispies on top. The bill came to + £50 each. We felt very disappointed by the whole experience and wished we hadn't come on our special day. I understand staff shortages happen, mistakes do happen, but we felt like we were treated like fools. Perhaps serving standard plates of food would be better if the restaurant staff are unable to cope with the schedule of a taster menu. The food for the most part was nice and so was the atmosphere. Bit of a shame we had such a bad experience mostly due to poor service.

What an experience at £49pp! The staff are attentive but not intrusive, they were full of knowledge on the food and wine. We've been to a fair amount of tasting menus around the world but this one really is brilliant at this price. The food was stunning and beautifully presented. We can't wait to be coming back!

First time at Sans Patrie. Six course menu plus wine flight. Every course was excellent - carefully thought out, deliciously prepared and well presented. The wines were similarly spot on. Book a table now you won't be disappointed - especially at these very reasonable prices. A great evening out!

Laid back atmosphere. Great value and beautiful food and wine pairings. It should be busier. If you live in Nottingham it’s a must do!

Booked for a party of 6 for dinner on a Friday, was thoroughly impressed with the thoughtfully crafted, deliciously executed menus (both vegan and non-vegan) and the attentive, friendly service. All of this for a very reasonable price as well! Will be interested in coming back, especially if the menus change!

We had a lovely meal but the waitress served my vegan friend of 5 years the non vegan menu, tried to swap the half eaten vegan meal for one another friend was eating and did not apologise until we took it further stating because being vegan is a choice not a allergy “you won’t die from it”. Another friend ordered a cocktail instead of the wine pairing to which we had to follow up twice due to a lack of ice that we weren’t told about until the third time of asking to be asked “did you want us to go to tescos to get you ice”. Overall the food was amazing but due to the poor experience i would not recommend nor return.

Very disappointed. I was really looking forward to this place based on the website content and reviews I'd read. I had imagined a relaxed intimate dining experience but it was far from it. There were too many things that collectively contributed to my 1 star review. Firstly, albeit minor, is that there are 2 doors to the restaurant but only one was open. It was not obvious which was the door to use and none of the staff bothered to gesture which door to use, once we'd even established where the doors were. I watched everyone who arrived face the same confusion, and the staff just watched (maybe an in joke or maybe completely oblivious). On entering i was struck by the noise. The space is an echo chamber. The only sounds you could hear from the music playing was some tinny top end and a constant thud thud thud, such were the dreadful acoustics. On top of that, the constant clanking and clattering of utensils, cutlery and pans from the kitchen area, which is part of the dining space, meant that diners had to raise their voices to hear one another. I'm sure this was ok for some, but it wasn't for us and I saw that it wasn't for others either. It really was a terrible distraction. Personally would have preferred some more relaxed music for dining, even if we couldn't hear it properly. It was as if we were in a very lively bar, and that wasn't the impression I took from the website. Then the service. Oh dear. It was a drag. We were there for 3 hours!!!! The service was friendly, when it appeared, but it was painfully slow. 3 hours for 6 very small portions, meant we probably spent about 15 minutes actually eating and almost 3 hours waiting, and since the place so was noisy with the clanks of cutlery and thuds of tuneless music we were unable to just sit and chat whilst waiting far too long, because we just couldn't hear ourselves. The seats weren't particularly comfortable, but maybe that's because we were sat on them so long. The late evening sun shone into the restaurant, which was nice, but it did expose pretty unclean windows, which in turn drew my eye to the very sorry looking wilted and neglected plants hanging inside. The beer I ordered at the start never arrived. It was almost impossible to attract the attention of staff to ask for more water, they only arrived to bring the next course. The service was really lacking and very inefficient. One staff member seemed to sense we were running out of patience and came to say they'd been really hectic, with everyone arriving at once; there were 9 occupied tables, of which 6 only had 2 people at each. There were a lot of 'where's the food' looks over shoulders. Why on earth we had to be there for 3 hours I just don't know. The food was nice, and so were the wine pairings, but the mango pallette cleanser, the size of a small shot, was a bit of a stretch to be counted as one of the 6 courses of a tasting menu. We left hungry and in-between thuds if music I overheard another couple expressing their discontent at the service and that they were still hungry. . Had to ask for the bill twice. This place has all the trappings to be excellent but it fell far short. A real shame as I was looking forward to visiting each time the menu changed, but I'm afraid even if the service improved the acoustics were awful and I'm not sure much could be done about that.

We went on Wednesday for our 20th wedding anniversary lovely vibe we did the six course tasting menu with wine flight each wine really complimenteded the dishes the service was alittle rough around the edges no water offered . Wine was sat on the bar too long and wasn’t cold but all in all we had a lovely night and enjoyed the food and wine we shall be returning 🥂

Had a lovely experience here on Thursday. The food was so delicious and the team were welcoming, friendly and provided great service. We had the six course taster menu (one vegan, one non-vegan) and the wine pairing and the price was super reasonable. The restaurant itself is really nicely decorated too and it's got a good ambience. Will return soon!

Environment was nice, but easily overwhelmed by a few noisy tables. Both meat & vegan menus were well presented & tasty & the wine pairing was also good. BUT the service was inconsistent, we had the third course arrive before the second. The timing of the drinks was not aligned to the food courses, which was a shame. No matter how good the food was, the whole experience was allowed to be dominated by a loud group. Acoustics could be better - something is needed to soak up the noise. So close to being a really pleasant experience.

Went here for dinner this evening and had just the most wonderful time. Unfortunately there was a loud group visiting while we were dining, thankfully though the staff didn't allow them to impact too much on our tasting menu. staff were all lovely, food came quickly. Every dish was explained to help us better understand what we were experiencing. For the price, it's a fantastic place to go for a tasting menu dinner, every plate was delicious. Look forward to returning soon (especially to try out the Sunday brunch menu!)

Went here for the first time and tried their tasting menu with the wine pairing. Really like the vibe and ambience, service was prompt and friendly and the food was excellent, particularly the lamb main course and the chocolate dessert. The wines in the wine pairing were all very nice too and complimented each of the courses. The only reason I've marked it down a star is value for money on the food side. All the food was delicious and the helpings were good, however it was a little generous to class a shot of drink (even though it was nice) as a course in its own right. That's our only minor gripe though. Other than that we had an excellent experience and really enjoyed our meal.

So myself and 5 family members had the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings. I’ll start with the good bits! The staff are really friendly and made a good effort. The meat courses (as reviewed by my family members) were quite nice. The wine servings are generous. The restaurant also took off our first drinks off the final bill which was good of them. Now I would say the restaurant is somewhat chaotic. It’s loud, and an open restaurant with a small kitchen / bar and circa 8 staff trying to navigate round reach other. Takes a while to get used to. Once we were about 4 glasses of wine in (and we ourselves were loud!) we were ok! If I’m being honest (and we fed back internally to the waitress), the vegetarian options were pretty poor. The mushroom soup was good, the potato fondant was quite nice (even though it was very small), but the rest of the meal was below par. We were served huge amounts of sliced vacuum pack beetroot with a bit of caper, balsamic, watercress and limited feta. I can make a better dish at home… Likewise the main dish, a cauliflower (which had been boiled) and mushroom dish, was either incredibly over seasoned (so much salt, tasted unpleasant) or didn’t have any seasoning at all on my partners dish. The worst bit is that we left our meal hungry… we spent £340 in total for 6 people (leaving an additional 10% tip as the staff were genuinely very lovely), but for circa £60 per person you can’t leave your guests feeling hungry… we all had to have some food when we got back home. There is no cohesion between the dishes, some of wine pairings didn’t really go with the dishes… A confusing night, but we had fun despite this. I would say the restaurant would be better to remove the tasting menu and just focus on creating a couple of good dishes with some of the nice wines they have. So overall and on balance I wouldn’t go again. I would also advise other vegetarians to be wary if they decide to go.

Amazing food, amazing service, would definitely come back

My friends had been several times and raved about it here, but I feel like we had a bad experience tonight. Food absolutely spot on, delicious courses and wines. However service was a disaster, left ages waiting for the bill, had to ask for cutlery, felt like our money wasn't wanted. But, I trust my friends and will return and expect to have a much better experience next time.

Welcoming staff. Warm atmosphere and funky decor. Menu is lush. Though not strictly vegetarian/vegan the choices are plenty and very delicious.

Such lovely service, was very hospitable and there is a lovely atmosphere. I was treated to kind service and didn't scowl at me like the business I tried to frequent prior to entering their establishment in my rasta hat and black coat. After JUST being racially profiled for how I looked (Tall-ish Black man who looks Jamaican) it was genuinely a breath of fresh air...It's amazing what a small incident of human kindness can do to your soul after you have been subjected to outright discrimination (and simply for asking if I can get change for some pound notes before making a purchase in the prior incident). This may be an overly emotional review because of my current emotional state, but This establishment and its owners and staff really brightened my day and stopped me from feeling depressed for the rest of the day. Thank you <3

What an incredible restaurant! Staff were all lovely, soo friendly and service was on point. We ordered 2 cocktails each which were both great I loved the old fashioned personally. For food we got patatas bravas, truffle fries, the meatballs, spiced cauliflower, frittata and Mediterranean veg flatbread. Every dish was superb. The truffle fries, patatas bravas and cauliflower was to die for. The portions were well sized and we had a lot to take away after eating. Overall a wonderful restaurant in Nottingham and I highly recommend you go here as soon as you can. After coming here twice now it is a must that you get the beef chimichurri as it was just incredible. The tapas selection is just on point and each dish is its own experience. One of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham for sure. The live music on Thursdays was good fun although the music was a bit too loud.

Food was pretty good, we had tapas and it was all nice... The flatbread pizza looked great but didn't actually eat one, only had a nosey and saw one... Wine was alright, small but nice selection. Little bit pricey but tapas always seems to be... Would go again :)

Excellent food, very nice atmosphere and great staff. We ordered a lunch special (choice of 2 tapas with Greek salad and pittas), a flatbread and patatas bravas. It was more than enough for a very substantial lunch for two - go there hungry! Everything was amazing. We'd definitely go back.

Always great tasty food cooked by a very talented chef Keelan and his team. Lovely friendly staff. We had the lunch tapas. Choice of two tapas with Greek Salad and Pitta for £11.95 which is excellent value. They have a great vegan selection too. Of you like tapas style food cooked fresh to order this is certainly worth a visit.

Such a great little bar / restaurant - just on our doorstep and gutted we only just discovered it! Went for tapas and drinks, everything was delicious - best tapas in Nottingham! Staff were super friendly and gave us great menu recommendations. Their brunch, lunch and coffee looks great too and they stock 200 degrees coffee - we will definitely be back!

This truly was the best meal I have ever had in Nottingham! Both the service and the food here at Sans Patrie are truly outstanding combined with the relaxed open atmosphere which makes it a great place for big parties or a lovely little date night. I am a big meat eater but I would highly recommend the vegetable dishes as they are just sublime. The asparagus, broccoli and cauliflower dishes were the showstoppers for me as well as the Puttanesca Flatbread. Also if you love your prawns then you won’t find a better one in Nottingham. For the quality of food that you receive, the menu is very fairly priced and well portioned. We are so upset that we have not stumbled upon this restaurant sooner. You will be seeing us lots more for the years to come! Thank you so much for a special night!

Have to say i have visited numerous tapas bars in Nottingham But for me and my partner this was the best food was fresh and full of flavours excellent Staff were friendly and very attentive Would highly recommend we will certainly be returning with many friends 🥰

Food OK but not five star. Flatbread was good. Very uncomfortable chairs on the high tables and music too loud to allow for conversation. Ok if you want to eat in silence or have nothing to say. Teenager in tow liked the playlist and volume got him off hook in having to speak. Live music act was very average cover band with poor sound quality on vocals. Or maybe they just couldn't sing. Also too loud. Didn't stay for dessert.

Great food - be patient with the service

What a fantastic new restaurant! I booked a table for two to help my Autistic friend going out and socialising. My table was booked for 7pm, we arrived just before 6pm and the staff was very friendly and kind and let us sit before our time which was super fantastic. Nothing was an issue when dealing with special requests. Beth who looked after us on Saturday 5th June from 6-8:30 pm was so nice. Beth did her job exceptionally well which gives her 10/10. I will recommend and use this restaurant again :)

Excellent, stylish little place with nice staff and great food. Tapas are a little large, next time we'll order slightly fewer, but that's hardly a criticism!
