Every time I have a delivery from Mr Sanam its wonderful, the owner can't do enough to make it a great experience, he will even jump in his car and deliver personally, and what a fantastic man he is too, the tandoori mixed platter is amazing! The meats are tender, with deep flavour marinade, Currys are rich, not swimming in oil, the paneer is amazing too, huge pieces not the usual tiny cubes. He told me he's been doing it 30 years...it shows. Always steaming hot and never shy on spice. Excellent stuff. This is my opinion obviously but I've been so disappointed by many takeaway Currys for years and thankfully Mr Sanam was introduced to me.

Best in Sherwood. Still the best traditional Indian takeaway locally.

Absolutely awful understanding of allergens. The staff at the restaurant said the naan breads and samosas were gluten free when they absolutely were not. As a coeliac I find it extremely disappointing that places like this are allowed to continue on with false information like this. Not that i expected anything or would have risked eating here but if you have any sort of allergy, you should avoid this restaurant like the plague. Poor customer service, who put the phone down on us when we simply asked if a masala was gluten free. Would never eat here again, which is sad because I was a regular customer before my diagnosis.

Mine and my partners go to curry takeaway. Always delicious & arrives hot. Never had any problems.

Ordered my food at 19:22. Website stated 45 minutes for delivery. Over 3 hours later at 22:30 food finally turned up! 2 hours and 15 minutes too late! I felt so sorry for delivery guy you could tell from his knock he didn't want to knock on our door. Not his fault at all and its like he expected to have it refused... I imagine he had had this alot tonight. I made 16 phone calls to the restaurant every single one was ignored. Absolutely disgusting service from Sanam. I have ordered from here for years and I will now never order from them again. Again I would like to point out that I had no issues with the driver it was not his fault at all. And had sanam just answered any of the 16 calls I attempted to get through to them and just advised of long delays I would have accepted the food and would probably still order from them. But when they cant even answer a phone call that is poor service and they have lost a good customer for life. Further note to this when they finally answered the phone the next day they promised me a full refund and this did not happen they basically stole £30 from me! Theives is what they are!

Absolutely abismal service. The men who answered the phone were rude, entirely unhelpful and even put the phone down on me at one point. All I wanted to know was why my food hadn’t arrived after nearly an hour and a half.

Was looking forward to our order as we have been ordering from here over the past few years but will not be ordering again. Ordered at 4pm with the estimated arrival time between 4.45 and 5.05pm. After calling at 5.05 I was told it was two minutes away and then was hung up on. I was told several times over the next fifteen minutes that it was ‘one or two minutes away’. Eventually, at 5.20, I was told to wait outside and that it was five minutes away, only to be waiting outside in the freezing cold for 20 minutes. Again, during this time when I called I was continuously told they were only a few minutes away. When the driver finally arrived at 5.40, he claimed to have left 12 minutes ago, meaning I was lied to about my order being on its way the whole time.

Amazing food! Saag Aloo Paneer is the best I’ve had since Bombay Bicycle Shop was open on Alfreton Road back in the 80’s

Ordered food through food hub online my mistake ordered from somwhere 45 mins away so had to cancel I contacted them with in 2 minutes and they refused to refund or cancel the order food hub was no help at all !

Best Indian takeaway in Nottingham. The Kheema Rice and Mixed Grilled Platter is a must try along with the range of delicious curries. Love it. More than 5 stars!

Never disappointed when I order from here lovely food

Absolutely disgusting service - ordered via Ubereats, the food never arrived, I tried calling and was told they didn't know if the food had been sent out or not and to just wait and see (?!). I then got a phonecall from the owner of the restaurant who screamed and swore at me down the phone that he was on the M1 (okay, why is that my fault?!) and that we were too far away to order from him. Our house is 4 miles away from the shop so well within their catchment area and given that they were provided as an option on Ubereats for our address that isn't really my fault?! I called the shop to find out how to get my money back and they guessed before I even started explaining that the owner had screamed at me so clearly this is a common occurance. Now I've got no food and no refund. Do not, repeat do not, ever order from this place.

Rang up to discuss my food allergies as it says on just eat to ring before hand if you do have any for the person on the phone to tell me to google it myself and that its not his responsibility to check what's in the food. Didn't even order as he tried to argue with me on the phone as I was trying to say it says on just eat to do so. Disgusting manners and was extremely rude. Would not recommend to anyone. By the looks of the reviews I'm glad I didn't order! What a joke. Lucky to get 1 star.

Today we had platter dish . Chaat karai curry . Also tandoori chicken and naan. Food is delicious me and three friends enjoyed. Very good service . Thanks again

Arrived fast and hot, but food was poor. Medium curry was too hot to eat, samosa was poor and greasy, naan was not too good either. Can’t remember ever throwing a curry in the bin without eating it before.

Ordered my food off deliveroo on nye the food never came spent £19.29, even though on the app it said it had been delivered I mean how hard is it to find an address when it is very clearly stated on the app, me and my mum thought we would order food since we couldn’t do anything for nye so we was actually looking forward to a nice Indian takeaway, I was very disappointed that the food didn’t come, then I couldn’t get through to this restaurant and had to email back and forth for my refund plus an online chat with deliveroo, finally got a refund processed by ringing deliveroos customer service number and even then they said they need to put a request to the manager but they didn’t answer but ended up getting it sorted anyway and should get the money back in 5-10 working days which I’m grateful for I just know they are quick to take it out of the bank but not put it back in.

Ordered after reading the 5 reviews, BUT all the currys were literally the same, they just added boiled lamb and boiled chicken to the sauce. KARAI WAS NOT A KARAI. Veg curry was bland. After waiting for 2 hrs Not worth it. Will not buy again.

Tasteless food. Ordered karai, tastes nothing like karai. It's barely even edible. I strongly advise you not to order from here. Microwave curry's taste better! They were also 2hrs late for delivery! AVOID AT ALL COST!

I had some food from this place 1st time and the food was really nice. Had chicken tikka masala and lamb Korma curries. I am from birmingham and I am picky with my food due to being spoilt for choice with quality Birmingham restaurants/takaways. I ate from many places in notts which were not pleasant but I will recommend sanam. Good on you keep it up.

Typically Good food and historically any attempts to amend a problem were dealt with fast. Recently required a refund and 2 weeks later im still waiting and constantly chasing them up.

Sanam used to be quality, No longer. Last few curries were bland, last one ended up in the bin, disgusting stewed dry tastless. whats going off sanam, new chef or what!! I won't be back you have lost a long time customer, goodbye!

Missing parts of order (poppadoms, raita), incorrect order (chicken not lamb), confusing dips/sauces (you don’t get free with starters like most places and v v expensive e.g. 75p for about a tablespoon!) and some missing too, slightly aggressive phone manner ... just think there are better places to order from out there. Shame.

Will not be ordering from here again. The food was substandard and it turned up at 10:15pm. Delivery was over 2 hours after ordering despite initially saying 45mins. I called three times to chase, each time lied to and told it was on its way. If they had been honest from the start I would have cancelled my order and eaten at a reasonable time. The first two times I called they didn’t even apologise and the final time a half hearted apology whilst trying to get me off the phone, terrible customer service.

Was a repeat customer but recently have been not caring to get orders right. Payed for 3 set meals and corners were cut with not giving us our whole order.

Just receive my order, pakora and bhaji are very soggy. Prawn madras has no flavour and looks like coloured water, the prawns are so small I dont k ow why they bothered putting them in! I'll never go back again.

I WAS a regular customer but no longer, The delivery driver was aggressive and rude and lied about saying had waited 10 minute for me to answer the door. Also the food order was wrong. Ordered the fish Marsala as a starter which was cooked in a thick chewy, tasteless batter. ( straight in the bin) I called the manager who was very dismissive and argumentative. Seemed to be angry that I used the messaging service on their website because they were closed. Iv'e never been spoken like that before, totally unprofessional and will never recommend them ever again.

Very poor delivery service. If you can't find the address with many instructions what's the point of calling yourself a 'delivery driver'. No other delivery drivers had problem finding my address, this guy couldn't even find my road. He kept insisting me to come out, what's the point of me paying for delivery then? He kept saying 'talk to my manager mate'. The manager was rude. No refund given. Worst service.

I spent £26 at this takeaway for me and my partner. The portions we got weren't even enough to fill us. I don't know *how* they cooked the onion bhajis, but they were poorly made and had no flavour to them. They forgot to include our salad and mango chutney in the order. I ordered my favourite curry, a dhansak, which was yellow and looked more like a korma. After ringing the restaurant they insisted this is what a dhansak traditionally looks like, but after ordering this dish about 10 times over the past few years from various places, I have never received a yellow one. Only ever a sweet warm reddish orange colour. The naan was extremely soggy - fortunately for me I prefer it that way, but my partner was not happy. The only thing I can't complain about here is 1)the fish pakoras (lovely) 2)the fact it was delivered 10 minutes early. However, we finished eating the entire thing before the original anticipated delivery time, which goes to show how pathetic the portions were. Apologies to the restaurant for coming across rude in this review but I'm really unhappy with the order considering the amount I paid too. Good luck to any customers that take the risk of eating from here, however, I personally won't be ordering here again.

We got food poisining from the order and reported it to the restuarant, initially they pretended to be concerned and assured me they would call me back to resolve the matter. I gave up trying to discuss the matter with them after calling them 11 times over a 2 week period and getting no response from the manager. I was reluctant to leave a bad review initially as i respect that sometimes mistakes can happen, but their attitude during this demonstrates that they clearly don't take matters of hygene or the safety of their customers seriously.

This was by far an amazing Indian meal. Lamb bhuna was tender and lovely. The Reshmi Kebab, was soft, lightly spiced and tasty. Every flavour was tasted, so beautiful. Every note was followed so a great display of lovely tasty food, delivered promptly. Empty plates

Absolutely discusting and very disappointed as this was my first time ordering...Curry was tasteless, lamb tough and very undercooked. Items missing, my rice dish was half empty. And they took forever to deliver. NEVER AGAIN!!! 😡

Quick delivery but unfortunately food is pretty average. Greasy samosas, rice didn't seem fresh and curries which were all pretty bland...

I've ordered from here only twice and never again.... first time they forgot things out of my order then second time like many others, my chicken was under cooked. It wasn't pink pink chicken but I think if it had been eaten it would've made someone sick. I did try posting pictures but I doubt they'll get published. I was going to make a complaint but due to other reviews I didn't bother as I knew I'd just get abuse. When I ordered they said they didn't understand my order so it wasn't ready?? I asked how long it'll be to be told it would be 5 mins (5mins for chicken??) being told by the manager it'll be that long, before I could say anything he walked off, felt bullied into staying (If you ever order from here you'll know who I mean). I wish I had walked out the door there and then. Don't order from here, spend a bit more and order from Saagar up the road. At least your meat will be cooked.

They usually have been OK, but lately they have been missing things, last time they forgot some of my Papadom after 2 hours waiting.

We ordered our curry at 21:03 and didn't receive the food until 22:17 which was quite a wait, it was only 2curries, a rice and a naan. Once it got here we were excited so started plating up our food. My girlfriend dug into hers and I took 1 bite out of mine before I realised there was a black hair in my food so I started removing it and it turned out to be a really long black hair, I was mortified! I called up Sanam Restaurant to be greeted by a gentleman who passed me onto the manager, I explained the situation to him and he offered to create another dish, he said it would be 10mins max. I said "ok sure". It was a few minutes later when I had to call back again to tell him I won't be needing the curry as the chicken in my girlfriends curry had put me off as it was pink! The chicken was under cooked! When I got passed on to the manager again he said the chicken couldn't be pink and that it is very rare they have complaints, really calmly I said I understand however I would like a full refund, I also said I could show him the hair and the pink chicken. He said ok I will call you back in 2minutes. I waited 15minutes before calling back and this time I was answered with a really rude tone and I said "you were going to call me back in 2minutes? It's been 15." He then said sorry but the manager isn't here anymore and he rudely said I'll have to call back tomorrow or file a complaint through hungry house. I asked politely for his name and he aggressively said no and hung up the phone. I will never be going to these guys again! And I definitely do not recommend, what a disappointment!

Sanam has awful customer service, I have spoken to the manager about this and he was horrifically rude to me and hung the phone up. Our last order was late, the food was bland, and to top it we were told that we would recieve a free order next time, which the manager refuses to give us now. AVOID!!!

I've bought food from this takeaway 3 times now and each time it's been delicious. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else now, this place is great! The people who answer the phone to take my order are always polite and friendly, the food is excellent quality and value for money, and the delivery driver is lovely and friendly too. I would definitely recommend Sanam to anyone, as it is the best Indian takeaway in Nottingham in my honest opinion.
