Fish and chips and battered mushroom and curry sauce was absolutely 💯 lovely food

Wow. The perfect fish and chips. Generous chips. Large fish! Best batter — not too thick but ultra crispy. A small but busy take away…we now know why.

Very relaxed with humour. The two Ladies serving were very friendly & afficient. Having some humour with the cooks. Had Haddock & Chips. Very good portions & tasty. VFM

Never been here before, smelt amazing as I went past so had to stop in. Regular chips and a battered sausage, wow chips couldn't have been any more perfect and the batter on the sausage was next level. Excellent chip shop and was worth every penny. If I'm this way again I will 100% stop in again.

The Best Beef/Chicken curry ever! Chips are nice, crisp and chunky. The staff are always friendly, sufficient and polite. 5 Star!

Fantastic Haddock and thick slice chips 🎣🥔 the smell coming from this place is what dreams are made of. Though I'd recommend getting vinegar on the side, so your chips aren't soggy 😅 Would recommend Haddock over the Cod - the cod is a bit more muscular and has a chew but the haddock is smooth eating.

Excellent service and excellent quality of food.

Unfortunately the fish was so heavily coated in batter and it was soggy. The chips were standard. I was quite disappointed as i know it is a popular place. Staff were very friendly, just the fish let it down.

The food and service is fine. But what an atmosphere! They act like they don't want you in their shop. Particularly the middle aged women. Miserable, rude and abrupt. I actually resented giving them my money, just as they obviously resented serving me. From now on I shall go elsewhere to a fish and chip shop that actually want my custom!

For the third year running, San Telmo have supplied the lunch for 17 people at our family Christmas get-together. The food was pre-ordered for collection at 1pm, and at 1pm the food was ready and packed into large polystyrene boxes, which kept the food piping hot. More than ample portions and very friendly good natured staff. looking forward to next Christmas. Highly recommended.

I always dread using this shop if within one hour before closing when a certain member if staff working, always feel I'm inconveniencing them. She is somewhat rude and abrupt. It is a shame as we prefer their food to the other shops. Maybe time to go elsewhere.

Very disappointed!! Do love the place but tonight not so good. Fish was lovely but the chips were like eating a packet of crisps!!! Crunchy no potato as such. And ordered a large chips and got a child's portion by the look of it!! But that was probably a blessing!!!

Absolutely disgraceful the attitude from the lady behind the counter is awful shes so rude very blunt doesnt make you feel welcome moaning at the bloke thats cooking the food infront of customers wont be going again visit under the bridge much nicer food and staff

If God is real, this is what was served at The Last Supper, these chips are not just beautiful, they taste amazing as well, staff are great and very friendly, you will find it hard to find a better chip shop. Sam I live right round the corner! Xx

Honestly quite gutted after years of this being the best chip shop around we drobe from Bournemouth Saturday We ordered the footlongs in baguettes and what we got was definitely not a baguette but a nasty cheap white soft pre slice roll was horrible...didn't even for half the sausage never mind anything else Wasn't worth the £5 was fairground quality at best. Of this is going to be the new standards I don't think we will be returning

Non greasy food and shop didn't smell of burnt oil

Very disappointed was advertised as being open soon when I looked at 4pm New Year’s Eve. Drove there to find it closed! Looked on their site again which said it was open! Also said closing soon 🕘 nine pm, however this was at 7.30pm. I can only guess the shop did not in fact open at all! Please in future keep your site informed up to date if you’re using it to advertise to save customers disappointment. Thank you

The best fish and chips in Dorchester, we have lived here just under 3 years now and used to travel to Weymouth to get our fish and chips. This I can honestly say is the best chippy locally. Not at all greasy. Cooked fresh in front of you. the shop itself was spotless staff are really polite and you don’t have to wait very long at all. 10/10 would recommend

Utterly charming man on the phone! We already knew that this is the best chippy in Dorch... but i was able to phone from another country and order fish and chips for my favourite people, for collection, PLUS gift vouchers to cash in whenever they fancy. Now there's a gift that keeps on giving!!! He really took the time to make sure everything was perfect. Thank you San Telmo! Cod and chips galore! Some of the best Cod the South West has to offer, and the Chicken Nuggets are delicious.

Just had the best Cod and chips for years at this small fish and chip shop. Quick and friendly service. Beautiful white cod with a tasty crunchy batter, excellent chips and finished off with a Pineapple fritter. Very reasonable prices and lots of choice on the menu.

I got a large cod and large chips for £8.50 IIRC. I work on the assumption that my wife will eat some of mine, (even though she "doesn't want fish and chips") True to form, I lost a good chunk of my dinner and it was still adequate for me. Tasty, well cooked, decent, but not huge portions. Still good value for money though. Highly recommended.

The best chips in Dorchester by far! Whenever we go the the shopkeeper knows exactly our order by our faces. The chips are perfectly cooked and have just the right amount of salt and vinegar. We used to go there as a treat but now we go there regularly because we like it so much

Generally very good food and service. Unfortunately today bank holiday very different . Got told you haven’t got a mask on GET OUT I’m not serving you. This was very rude customers should and could of been spoken too in a polite and not a rude manner. If customers generally forget or are exempt from masks this approach to a customer is very rude and unprofessional way. The assistant seemed to be very stressed with the amount of orders that she already had but no excuse for this way to communicate to customers.

Very slow service, nice food. We were disappointed that we queued for 20 minutes along the road and the queue didn’t seem to be moving very quickly. When I got into the shop they were taking and wrapping telephone orders before the people in the large queue. They need to sort a different system!

The San Telmo use to be the best chips in Dorchester back 25 years ago. Today I thought I'd have a treat. But my treat was not a treat at all. The chips are not cooked well and the amount of oil on the chips is crazy. I also asked for salt and vinegar and I got none. I feel 1 star is more than what it deserves. I am very disappointed in my food.
