Delicious breakfast. Big portions. The dinners looks tasty. One of the best breakfasts i have had. Great value. Look forward to returning.

Excellent freshly cooked full English breakfast cooked in front of you. Perfect quick meal and definitely nutritious. Good value for money too and a nice strong quality cup of tea.

The first thing I was impressed with was the cleanliness. It was immaculate. The waitresses were fab and suggested I had beef. It was a lovely roast .very well priced and nice we are in Swansea again I will definitely be coming here

First and foremost I will not be returning. A friend suggested that I visit sams cafe as I am not from Swansea and was in need of a good breakfast! They shouldn’t of suggested sams cafe because… First of all the price is ridiculous for the quality of the Food I could not change items on my order for example I couldn’t have my egg poached and when I asked the waitress (who was lovely) if there was anyway I could have poached eggs she referred me to “Sam” who was very rude I should try going somewhere else. This took me back! So I took my custom to milanos which is a short 2 minute walk. The service and price is much better in milanos and I will not step foot in sams cafe again!

Awful..ruined by rude Maggie...........mediocre food and expensive for what you get and they won't let you change an item unlike Franco's Gershwins and Milano's...never again

Delicious breakfast, great value. My 8 year old son’s first time (I’ve been going for years) he loved it & told me ‘they deserve 5 stars’ so here I am. Friendly staff, helpful, just a great place to eat. Highly recommended

The menu is varied. Reasonably priced. It's a firm family favourite here. The staff are always friendly. The cafe is always busy. My daughter thinks it's the best lasagna in Swansea. I love the roast dinners and the chicken curry. Probably the best cafe in Swansea xx

Lovely food, plenty to choose from. Cup of tea was very nice and my fiance said the 2 cups of coffee he had were the best! The girls waiting on the tables were friendly and helpful. Everything was clean. I ate steak pie, peas & chips. My partner had liver, bacon & chips. We both enjoyed, and have to say, the gravy is delicious. We had extra gravy in a gravy boat. 😋

It's an amazing place for breakfast with delicious options. Food was nice, the presentation of food was great, staffs were friendly. The only thing is, they don't accept the card payments. I'd to go out take cash out then come back to order, little bit of hassle. Overall it's a good place to visit.

Second time in a week for my fiance and myself went for food here. On the first occasion the waitress was very stoney faced and never smiled, in fact I thought we had upset her just by walking in! 🤔 I ordered cauliflower & broccoli bake and chips, my partner had large breakfast. The food was lovely, we ate it all. Today was our second visit, we sat in the window. The table was dirty but the young girl was quick to clean it. She was a little more welcoming than the first waitress. I ordered steak pie & chips, my partner had large breakfast again. We wasn't offered any sauce so had to go to counter and ask for some.. The food was lovely, again. We left feeling satisfied and full. Not had a bad meal here, and the gravy is lovely! 👏

I have visited Sams on and off for the last few years and what can you say it does what it says on the tin!! Good food reasonably price’s always clean and tidy and the staff are amazing highly recommend!!!!

Lovely staff, all the time in the world for you, and considering how busy they are, this is a welcome change, plenty of choice, and the food is lovely, generous portions , and reasonable prices, this from now on is the place I eat .

The roast dinners @ £7.49 are pricey but are superbly cooked, the portion sizes are generous and the taste is gorgeous. The breakfasts are good too.

When we go to Swansea our first stop is always Breakfast and always go to Sam's it is always well cooked good choice and above all a reasonable price the Mug of coffee that comes with you're Breakfast is one of the Best around.

This is on the major bus route to morriston hospital so rather paying extortionate costs at the hospital I would highly recommend a pit stop here

Found Sam's s few years ago when I was on jury duty in Crown Court just down the road .Love to have Breakfast 2 which consists of two sausages , two good bacon rashers , load of fried mushrooms ( not boiled) fried egg , hash brown , load of baked beans with buttered toast and coffee for £5.99 .

I don't often go for breakfast out but after an early start on a cold morning I needed some sustenance and called to Sam's for the first time in about 5 years. It was a great breakfast with tea and toast included. I did add black pudding and fried bread but all in all very substantial for £7.24. It was waitress service and the food was really quick arriving. I am reviewing a cooked breakfast be cause it was cooked well and not a spot of grease or fat on the plate. I will be back a d I recommend to try this place out

I came here with the girlfriend after a stressful afternoon. We ordered food and whilst I was waiting I went to use the toilet.Found a member of staff busy cleaning the toilets, she came out so I could use the toilet and went back to cleaning once I was done.The toilet was sparkling, so much so that I felt guilty for using it. There was a pleasant smell and this set the standards very high.Returned to the table and the food soon arrived. Staff asked if everything was ok. I asked for hot sauce or chilli sauce and the staff went out to the kitchen to check and returned with some sauce.The food was piping hot, extremely well cooked and is by far some of the best Shepherds pie I’ve had as this is my favourite dish.It’s not the cheapest place around but cheap food is not tasty and tasty foods not cheap.I will be returning here when I’m living in Swansea next month.

My family and I visited Sam’s cafe yesterday following years of holidays and trips to Swansea - Family and friends rave about this cafe, so we decided we ought to give it a go...Sam’s Cafe is described as a ‘coffee shop’ hence the thought of buying a cup of coffee would be, in most people’s mind, quite easy- wrong!

We visited Sam's cafe today for a Breakfast my husband had a full English and I had poached egg on toast ,we were served by a charming young lady who brought our coffee pipeing hot and wonderful. The Breakfast had Two rushers of very lean bacon , sausage and beans with toast and egg ,also some fries ,it was delicious, my poached eggs were cooked to perfection ,after going to the Uplands Diner last week there was no comparison on the quality and the quantity we will definetly go back and tell our family and friends to pay a visit as everything was exceptional .

Visited today at 12.30 and place was three-quarters full , ordered the breakfast 1 @ £5.99 , ( 2 sausages , 2 rashers of lean bacon , one fried egg , one hash brown , mound of sautéed potatoes , baked beans , round of buttered toast and coffee) sorted for the day .

Recently tried to go in with an elderly gentleman who was told he could not come in with no reason why despite repeatedly asking for a reason .Was told he eats next door only .For this reason I would not go back and have advised others to do the same

Sams cafe is the best cafe in Swansea. It offers great,affordable prices and the food there is outstanding. The service there is excellent and you couldn’t ask for friendlier staff. To top this they also cater for children with the fantastic kids meals that come with beverages. Absolutely superb !!!

We went to Sam's on the spur of the moment. It was the first visit for both of us. We liked the variety on the menu, I struggled to make a decision on what to have, as several of the dishes appealed to me. In the end I had plaice, chips and peas with bread and butter.

We always visit Sam's when family are down and need a great breakfast with a great team. It was our sons birthday and the girl who served us made him so happy even gave him 3 lollys to take home and asked him about what he was doing. Went to Sam’s Cafe again with my wife whilst shopping in Swansea .

We went to sams today which I haven’t been to this lovely cafe for ages. Me and my mum both had the ham and parsley sauce dinner and can honestly say it was so nice that we cleared our plates! Delicious

I popped in here as I fancied a scampi and chips for lunch and was quickly seated and served. The portions are very generous and there was a really lovely ambiance to this little cafe. I haven't been to a place like this which served high quality food in quite some time now so this was a really nice find. The staff were all friendly as well and other customers seemed to be enjoying themselves too.

Sam's (Nelson Street) is a cut above the standard greasy spoon. A few things stand out: very quick, efficient and pleasant service, food is served piping hot and most importantly, it tastes good.

Called in recently on a busy Saturday morning for a cooked breakfast. The staff were friendly, efficient, and slightly amused to find themselves serving six 30/40-something blokes all dressed in Christmas jumpers. Had a big veggie cooked breakfast and a cup of tea for £5.99. Would definitely call in again on a similar occasion.

I went into Sam’s Cafe with my parents to have a drink so my father could take his medication and to wait for my partner to turn up so we could get some food before carrying on shopping. We ordered some drinks and said ‘that be it for now’ the waitress about turned and said to who I assume was Sam (or a manager) they only want drinks, then he said you can’t just have drinks at dinner time you have to leave. After picking our jaws off the table we had to leave!!! My mother drinks in this cafe all the time with her friends but after this she will not being spending her pension in her anymore

We find this cafe after trudging around Swansea looking for somewhere to eat with a decent variety on the menu....and found Sam’s. What a gem of a place! We were shown to a table very quickly, even though it was very busy. The waitresses were super efficient and very friendly. The tables were wiped almost immediately and ordering the meal was quick and easy. We received our orders very fast and it was absolutely delicious. Can’t find any fault with Sam’s. Definitely be going back. Loved it!

This was the first time we had been in Sam's and we were not disappointed. The place was clean, light and airy and the staff were attentive and friendly. As we entered we were greeted with a "good morning" from all the staff. Although there was one menu on the table, a waitress promptly gave my partner an additional menu. Our order was then taken and the special breakfast was served quickly. It was delicious and only £4.50 which included a cuppa in the price.The customer service was outstanding and we will now visit Sam's for our occasional cooked breakfast.

Went to Sam’s Cafe again today with my wife whilst shopping in Swansea .Where else could you have a Scampi and Chips , a Fish and Chips both with Salad plus a large glass of Cola for under £15. Sam’s Cafe was very busy with lots of regulars , met at the door and shown to our seat next to another elderly couple at table 8 and then looked after by the polite and courteous waitress’s .Yet another delicious meal at Sam’s Cafe with a Friendly Family atmosphere.I will also note that the place was spotless , the waitress staff tidied the tables , sprayed and wiped down the table surfaces , picked and brushed up anything dropped under each table after each person had left.

One of the best restaurants /Cafe in Swansea. Always full and you have to wait to be seated 9/10. Great pleasant staff who cannot do enough for you. We visited at least 6 Times a month. Choice of menu great .We usually call lunch time and have one of the roast choices. Beef lamb turkey or pork Like home cooking with at least 5 assorted veg all cooked to perfection and steaming hot. Great pot of tea too. All prices very reasonable excellent value for money Have visited here for several years have yet to have a bad meal.Recommended

Have attended this eatery for several years in Nelson Street, Swansea, and have continued to have received the most excellence of service, with fantastic food served throughout the day with excellent friendly overtures by the staff and management alike, regardless of their wonderful mix of native and foreign nationals, to a constantly, extremely high level. Quite simply, is, in my humble opinion, the BEST eatery I have attended in not just Swansea, but the UK! The Roast Dinners are so well cooked, they melt in the mouth to the delight of the customers taste buds!

Had the SMALL breakfast this morning 2 rashers bacon, 2 sausages, hash brown, beans, tomato, egg and 2 slices of bread. £2.99 I don't think you could get better value than that anywhere. Fantastic

Visited as a group on a fairly busy, but wet, day in Swansea. Whilst the tables are in fixed positions and our group was too large for one, the staff very swiftly got us seated over two tables that were close to each other. Service from all the staff was excellent and prompt. It didn't take long for our food to arrive after ordering, the portions were plentiful and prices very reasonable

We could not get into any of the local pubs for a Sunday roast lunch and as we were just at the point of giving up we saw that Sams did a Sunday roast...so so glad we went it, such a tasty dinner the meat was SO tender and a good selection of vegetables. We will return!

Just had a wonderful breakfast cooked to perfection. I even ate the black pudding which I do not normally eat. If you look at the picture, my breakfast was huge. You do not get quality stuff like this down London. Well done Sam. Staff are very polite and friendly. I had to have my tea to go so to free a table as they were all fall. Very popular with the Locals. Tea was very nice as well.

My family visited Sam's on Sunday for brunch. The place is budget but really well run. The staff were very attentive and the place is clearly popular with locals. It's a real old school cafe which just serves good food at real prices. Brunch for the 4 us couldn't have cost much more than £20!

Good service, hot fresh food and very busy! Bacon is gorgeous but sausages not so nice. Considering their prices I don't expect 'top' ingredients but the sausages had that fatty taste ( don't recal that before) . Clean tables, mixture of builders and barristers and quick service! Visit here very often with family/friends. Always brilliant service from Sam and his staff, very friendly and always doing everything they can. I quite often visit with a pram with my niece/nephew and they always make sure we have enough room and put the buggies away safely. Food is always absolutely delicious and piping hot. The ham and parsley sauce is one of my favourites. My whole family loves it here! 100% recommend to anyone

After a previous day of rugby playing and night out this was a must for us starving lads. Mega Breakfast for £7 came with taost and drink and boy was it huge. The ladies behind the bar were very pleasant and the speed in which the food was served was astounding. If we get a chance to goto Swansea again, we will be here for breakfast.

Sam's is a very traditional type of cafe by the bus station, light, bright and pleasant, with excellent service and good simple meals/generous portions. Thus it can be stupendously busy so if you want lunch say, go a bit early to avoid a queue. Saturdays are pretty busy throughout so you just take a chance.The menu is extensive and you can have everything from full Welsh breakfast - or any variation on it - to sandwiches/paninis, toasted tea cake/puds to big meals with chips or a dinner. There's also a range of hot and cold drinks. Coffee and tea can both be tending to weak so specify if you want them strong. It's very reasonable with a huge breakfast and drink for about £7 with mains not much more and snacks £2-5. 4 of you could eat til you fall over here for £30, which is not bad these days...The owner keeps a close watch on everything and as such it's v clean and well run with nice loos at the back. It has lots of regulars and the atmosphere is usually busy/friendly. You can feel a bit too guilty to linger if people are queuing but this is definitely a strong option for people looking to eat well in a nice environment for a reasonable sum!It also couldn't be more central at a few yards from bus station, Quadrant and market.

I visit this place very, very often. The breakfast is outstanding as you know what you are going to get and the standard is always the same.I have had to re review this place now though as I have previously given Sam's a 5 rating. Over the past couple of weeks they have brought out a new menu, upon closer inspection it look the same...apart from the prices. Now, I don't mind paying a little more but £7.40 for the big breakfast is a little steep. They have literally gone through the menu adding £1 to every item.....silly, and the reason why I am down grading my rating. Poor show Sam's.

I have been coming here for years, it is always my first choice for a cooked breakfast but they also do delicious roasts and jackets. It is always busy but we are always lucky in finding a table and even if you do have to wait it's worth it. The staff are great and a lot of them have been there years. Highly recommended.

Having used this establishment for over 10 years I must say it is the best breakfast in Swansea.The staff are fast and friendly, the tables are always cleared and you normally don't have to wait long for a table if its busy.Sunday dinner is also a good option if you don't fancy cooking

I enjoy coming here for a milky coffee and sitting watching all the different people come and go as it's always busy and bursting with life! Good prices, cracking breakfast and friendly staff! Great for any time of day! But I think they close at 3pm

This part of Swansea doesn't have much going for it but if you're staying in one of the budget guest houses here you can get a wholesome, cooked breakfast for £4 including real coffee, or tea or juice. It's clean and friendly and very flexible about what you can have in your "special". I turned mine into a vegetarian breakfast.

Just along from Joe's ice cream this is a traditional cafe- no brown bread here! Mainly frequented by the building trade and other regulars they serve a wide range of breakfast and the Sam's Special at £3.45 for the full works has to be the best value and it was really good quality food. Bargain!

My wife and I decided to call in here for a breakfast, the staff are very friendly, the breakfast was ok, the sausage could do with being cooked a bit longer, my egg was too well done for me, it would be nice if you were asked how you would like your egg done, it was nice to have sautéed potatoe's as well, I also wish they would put the toast on a side plate rather than the same plate as the breakfast, it makes it easier to butter it, overall not bad, would go back again..
