Sampaguita in Wiltshire

My wife and I decided to have lunch here, as we had not been before. Lovely quiet location and welcoming staff and atmosphere. Extensive menu choices with so many appealing options on offer. The spiced banana milkshake was amazing as was the pork belly kare kare. Delicious combinations and something different than the usual. So good we will be visiting again next week. Highly recommended and Tess the owner is lovely.

Lovely cafe, tucked away in Calne. Very friendly lady serving and cooking. We had lunch and it was really yummy. Good value too I think. So much better than chains like Costa or Boswells! The cakes looked fab but we were full so we'll just have to go back again! Great experience.

Took a while to find but worth the perseverance!! Everything is marked as to whether it contains gluten, dairy etc. Tess was very accommodating to my slight change to lunch!! Very nice food, extremely well priced. And yes, the toilet is off the kitchen and you can’t go while she’s cooking- it’s a small place- but there are two doors and it all looks very clean. So go early before she starts cooking or elsewhere- the food and service is great.

I visited this morning for a catch-up with my daughter. Superb food, very good value for money and a comprehensive, clever menu. Tess is lovely.

This cafe was recommended to me by Tony at the Calne Heritage Centre and I am glad he did that as this place is otherwise easily missed! The rather small sign for it at the main road (New Road) needs to be enhanced with directions at the very least. This cafe is set in a quiet courtyard the other side of the central car park. There are several tables inside but - as it was a sunny April day - I chose to sit at an outside table. There should be something on the menu for every taste. I chose an all-day breakfast and cappuccino at a cost of about £12. The coffee was swiftly delivered to my table with the breakfast following shortly afterwards. There was only one other table occupied at the time of my visit (two people) and there were only two people working in the cafe that day so service might well slow down at much busier times. I paid by cash but I did see a notice stating that credit cards were not accepted for a total bill under £5. I can certainly recommend this cafe - it just needs better directions to attract customers to it!

We visited here at the weekend with our granddaughter. There was a varied menu and our food arrived quickly. Service was engaging and pleasant. Prices were good and portions generous. Definitely a lovely place for lunch.

Once again we have thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Sampaguita Cafe. The wonderful host Tess is always warm and friendly. Her extensive menu includes delicious vegetarian and vegan options.

Stopped for lunch but ended up just having coffee so can comment on food. Requested use of the toilet to be told it was through the kitchen so we would have to wait until food preparation ceased. When we used the toilet we had to transit through the food preparation area and the toilet was very poor, put us off so we moved on.

Just found this place in calne. Well looked after.by the staff.thanyou. Food was great.and finished off with tea. Well done .i.we. will be back..

The Sampaguita cafe always does great sandwiches, but it is so much more. The Filipino food is absolutely outstanding, all made with great love and attention. The balance of flavours and textures is wonderful. The Sisig and Kate-Kare were great, and the starters are all lovely and homemade. Tess’ selection of cakes and deserts are always brilliant (the blonde is my favourite). In all a lovely gem of a cafe, great food and a lovely host.

Ordered 3 courses x 3 for free delivery, delivered on the dot. It was packed beautifully and hot when opened. The food was absolutely amazing, so fresh and tasty. Highly recommend you try the food at Sampaguita's first class cuisine 😊

We originally came here because I stumbled past the cafe by accident whilst on a walk through Calne, my new area. They were just closing but the smell was just next level delicious, so we came for breakfast at the weekend. My partner had a full English which was lovely, and I enjoyed an authentic filipino dish and a spiced milkshake which had the most amazing flavour. The covid precautions taken were also great and we felt safe during our whole visit. I also noticed that they do excellent vegan/gluten free options (I tend to notice these things as an ex vegetarian/gluten free ex partner)! We were so impressed that when we saw takeaway evening meals for the weekend advertised, we had to jump on board! For £11.95 we got three courses including rice and all of the dishes we ordered were incredible. Such good quality, really good filling portions and felt like a real treat without being greasy and salty like other takeaways. Also delivery was prompt and excellent customer service, really easy to order. Still trying to decide if I like cassava cake or not....but what an opportunity to be able to try these things! It's fantastic to be able to taste and enjoy the flavours of a different culture in such a small wiltshire town. Thank you Sampaguita and we can't wait to order again!

We were so happy to find this charming café with it's lovely courtyard seating. They offer a variety of hot and cold drinks, including fantastic smoothies. You can choose between different types of milk such as coconut or almond. There's also plenty of healthy food options.including salads, sandwiches, baked potatoes etc plus scones and cakes all home made. Vegetarians and those needing gluten free options would have plenty of choice here. As an added bonus the owner was a lovely,chatty and friendly lady who topped up our drinks with the remainder from the blender as she dislikes waste. Would happily recommend.

I would like to say what a wonderful evening we had at Sampaguita cafe. Great food and service at an extremely reasonable price. Open during the day, but also Friday evenings with prior bookings. Many thanks 😊

Stopped by for coffee and cake - the warmed white chocolate and apricot blondie was amazing! Added bonus of trying out a coconut and cherry cupcake - fresh & tasty, then much to my surprise I found out it was vegan, even down to the icing which tested like buttercream. Tess (the owner) is a talented cook with a great ability to make tasty food to suit different diets (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc).

Firstly their website address has changed so type in their name to find it.Hidden Gem but worth seeking out. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good range of meals, catering for vegetarian and vegans. Visited with a friend and we both enjoyed our meals. I had their Bramley Mac Panini and she had their Coronation Chicken Jacket Potato. I also had their upside down pineapple cake. We enjoyed it all.

Lovely coffee for a birthday treat, and such a lovely owner who took the time to have a chat with us and make us feel very welcome! Much appreciated by us both. The vegan scones were top draw...delicious!

I was visiting my friend who lives in Calne , she currently can’t walk very far so this was a nice little spot . Food all home cooked ! And service lovely ! They were very accommodating for my 3 year old aswel when she needed the loo as it was tucked out the back ! Thankyou very much and all the best - hopefully will be back again soon

I ate lunch here four days ago after finding Sampaguita on Trip Adviser. I explained that I needed gluten free food (I am Coeliac) and was given the allergen menu. I was assured that the Jacket Potato with Coronation Chicken was gluten free. When the food arrived the chicken in sauce on top of the potato was hot whereas coronation chicken is usually a cold dish. I asked if it was gluten free and assured it was and that the lady had made it herself and it contained no gluten. Since then I have suffered the symptoms of having eating gluten. I think I was given the Chinese chicken curry topping and recall that the allergen menu stated the Chinese chicken curry with rice was unsuitable as it contained wheat. I am very disappointed as I asked more than once if the food was gluten free.

the two of us arrived to get one of the last two tables, so yes it was busy. But waited 10 mins to order and another 30 before one drink arrived! during which time we were advised there were no more Jacket potatoes, wish we were told on ordering, anyway changed order to brown bread sandwich, 5 mins later advised not enough brown bread left, so order changed again, eventually food arrived but still had to remind about second drink. It may of been busy, but, either get more staff, or train the existing to manage better. The coronation chicken was also too spicy for my wife to eat so most was left - more like a spicy curry apparently. Shame as I am sure when not busy and when stocked with enough food I am sure it could of been so much better, plus good choices for gluten free and Vegan menu. Nice cuppa though !

This is a small venue somewhat hidden in Calne but well worth a visit. Food is varied and of good quality. Pleasant surrounding and friendly staff.

Chose to visit Sampaguita on our bikes, 5 old men in lycra. We received a warm welcome from Tess, big smiles. Stayed for great coffee and cake. Lovely little gem hidden away in a courtyard. Will always return.

We went to Sampaguita cafe today and it was excellent. We rang ahead asking if it was possible to have the vegan afternoon tea - the owner said she usually has to prepare this the day before, but was highly accommodating and said she’d sort it out. To our pleasant surprise, the afternoon tea was a feast! Between the two of us there were 6 finger (I say finger but they were big!) sandwiches of 3 different fillings. They also brought out a side salad which was tasty. Then, there were 8 scones between the two of us. The scones came with coconut cream which I’d never had before and it was delicious. Finally, the last tier was 4 cakes - 2 cranberry and orange and 2 coffee & pecan. Needless to say we couldn’t actually fit anymore food in, so we took these to go!Top notch service and the lady (I believe her name is Tess) was extremely helpful and accommodating - she even talked us through what was in each ‘dish’ and how it was vegan. We’ll definitely be back!

We were the only people in the cafe and the atmosphere was a little dead and there was a stuffy smell which was not great. However, the service was good but I did not enjoy my breakfast which was neither English nor Asian cuisine. The fusion did not work for me. I am afraid to say that I will not be returning but I may have just caught it on a bad morning

I’ve been coming here for years and absolutely love it! Tess is such a kind and lovely lady I’m vegan now and there is a lot for me to choose from on the menu which is just great. Recently my mum asked Tess if she could make some vegan cakes for my 30th birthday, which she did, luscious lemon drizzle (gluten free) & a creamy coffee cake and they were honestly beautiful all of my family loved them. Thank you Tess ☀️

Absolutely gorgeous lemon drizzle cake made for us for our engagement party which was demolished. Have eaten at Sampaguita a few times and highly recommend their cakes. Would definitely eat here again!! Thank you so much.

Amazing service from start to finish, we called up to book vegan afternoon tea and from the phone call to the time we were there everything was absolutely perfect! The owner was so kind and helpful throughout - a true delight and I'm so glad we found such a hidden gem, very very highly recommended!!

Had a lot of vegan options (a whole menu in fact) to choose from. I opted for the Mexican torta, which was delicious. Owner was very friendly and you can tell she takes a lot of pride in her cooking and cafe. Also they have a wide selection of vegan cakes and I ended up taking 2 boxes home! Looking forward to visiting again.

We stumbled on Sampaguita's for the first time yesterday when looking for another eatery. We were so pleased to have discovered it. Nestled in a pretty little courtyard by the church in Calne, we discovered what is hands down the best we've found so far in Wiltshire for catering for our specific dietary requirements, which range from dairy free to vegan and gluten free. Sampaguita's had it all - I was able to have a tuna melt for the first time in years due to their provision of vegan cheese and my Mum for once was spoiled for choice with a delicious as well as imaginative vegan and gluten free sandwich which contained fillings such as hummus, onions, aubergines and tomatoes, as well as the delicious side salad too. We're living in a time where dietary requirements can be fulfilled more than ever and are being done so from our supermarket shelves up. Yet from our personal observations when eating out these options can still be pretty limited and restricted. However Sampaguitas completely smashed the usual disappointment and boasted fabulous menu choices - divided clearly between vegan and meat menus, with plenty of breakfast options and their array of cakes were also clearly labelled as Vegan and / or Gluten free with some wonderful looking flavours - we only wished we had room left to try them too! We will be back without a doubt.

This is my regular Lunch Time Cafe. The food is excellent and caters to Vegetarian, Vegan and Allergy needs. Cakes and Drinks are simply lovely. Gentle Live Music on Wednesday lunchtime & afternoon.

Have visited Sampaguita a few times now - and enjoyed the vegan delights (including cake etc...) Everything we have had we have enjoyed - there is a separate vegan menu and a mix of foods on it. It is a great little place - with lovely staff....

service is very quick in this small cafe but the food is well prepared and there is plenty of it .Great for lunch if you are hungry

Tess era muy servicial y la comida que ella prepara era genial, recibiendo muchas felicitaciones de los huéspedes. Nuestra familia era muy feliz. Tess es capaz de hacer comida vegetariana y vegana, asegurarán los gustos de los niños son atendidos (imprescindible para cualquiera de nuestra familia). Todo el paquete fue la comida abundante y a buen precio. Calne tiene suerte de tener Tess y Sampaguita.

Sampaguita está situado en un patio, te puedes sentar dentro o fuera de cualquiera manera. La comida es fresca y sabrosa, con diferentes opciones de menú también hay una buena selección de bebidas. Personal amable y eficiente, agradable ambiente. Aparcamiento está disponible aunque pagamos a un tiro de piedra.

Having read reviews of this place and all being good. I decided to give it a go. I asked for a coronation sandwich and got a toasty coronation chicken hot sandwich. We also asked for a GLUTEN FREE! Cheese and onion Toasty which came out with couscous and pasta which was not gluten free. Asked for it to be changed and at the same time made sure that the sandwich was gluten free. Which the lady said oh yes it is gluten free. Well I know that was not gluten free as my partner is now in a lot of pain.

I found this most amazing cafe selling vegan and gluten free food.As my son and future daughter in law are vegans, and my grandson is a celiac this is just perfect. The food is outstanding and the service was perfect. Well worth a visit any day of the week.They also do all food to take away which is just what we needed we being back on a weekly visit.

A while ago, I wrote a poor review of Sampaguita after being disappointed by bad service. Apparently the owner was at the time in hospital, and the people looking after her cafe for her were not quite up to scratch. The food when we visited before was very good, so we decided to give it another go.We were really pleased to find that not only was the food just as good as before, but with Tess, the owner, in charge, the service was faultless. She was friendly and efficient, and the food arrived quickly. We really enjoyed our meal and our cake afterwards, and will be returning! I'm very pleased that I gave Sampaguita another chance!

Sampaguita is a gem hidden in the midst of a historic part of Calne. The owner Thess offers a range of delicious food from traditional English dishes to Asian cuisine. Service is consistently good. Thess catered for 30 people at my party. I chose two main Filipino dishes and a few sides. These were brought to my home with all the heating utensils and serving dishes. I was given the opportunity to taste every dish and approve before she left. The food was well presented, fresh, beautifully cooked and truly delicious. My guests, some of them real foodies, loved the food and kept returning for more. Thankfully Thess's portions were ample and generous, I was able to send happy guests away with doggy bags whilst freezing some for myself! I would highly recommend Thess for private party catering. She is the angel who takes away the stress of cooking and provides you with the best so that you enjoy your day knowing everybody else is too!

What a wonderful hidden away gem this is! Tucked away in a secluded courtyard opposite the church on Church Street. The menu here is really quite unique, a wonderful setting and very welcoming friendly staff and owner. If you are looking for something a little bit different and away from the shopping arcade, this is definitely worth a visit!

I came with a group of friends, we preordered our meals and I was so pleased to have a choice of vegan food. The curry I chose was honestly the most flavoursome I have ever tasted. Tess is a fantastic host and I would recommend Sampaguita café to all.

Sampaguita Cafe is tucked away in a beautiful, quiet little courtyard in the heart of Calne. If you are local to the area, or just passing through, I would urge everyone to pay this café a visit, it's the best café in Calne by far! Tess, the owner, will give you a very warm welcome and a cheery smile. The food is absolutely first class, always fresh and beautifully presented and the service simply cannot be faulted. Menu choices range from traditional favourites, to something a little bit different, and there is plenty of choice to suit all tastes and requirements.

I visit Sampaguita very regularly, sometimes on my own, sometimes with friends and family, and I love it! The welcome and atmosphere is always warm and friendly, and the food is always absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared, fresh and tasty. The home-made cakes and scones are particularly delightful! I'm a vegetarian and there is always a brilliantly wide selection available for me. It is by far the best place to eat in Calne - and they serve the best coffee!

I go here as often as I can, Tess is so welcoming and friendly and makes just lovely food!. My favourite is the Tuna Melt, my husband loves her curry. Tess makes everything fresh and also makes sure she uses great coffees and teas.

Visited plenty of times with family and friends. Food is always lovely and service is exceptional! Sometimes Thess has a themed night with a great buffet and music. You can also bring your own drink! Always a pleasure to eat there.

Now I haven't been here for a very long time since before this place existed, alas that wrong has been righted and I came as a guest of SMaRTT running club as they celebrated a brilliant event with great food.When we arrived I saw how small it was, but with the high ceiling it manages to be cosy yet achieves a spacious atmosphere.I'm going to go straight onto the food, wow, what a spread, and with several different preordered mains around the group and a beautiful salad provided I don't know how Tess did it all so smoothly and still managed to come eat with us and chat to everyone.I had the Filipino Chicken Curry, a beautiful dish with chicken on the bone which adds so much to the flavour, and boy did it pack flavour I wish I could have had seconds I should have held back on the salad, which was also so nice.Named after the Filipino Jasmine, the flower of love, you'll leave loving this gem.All I can say is, Salamat Po, Tess amazing job and we will be in far more often as those scones look amazing.

The service was slow despite the place being almost empty. The food itself was grim; some things were not cooked enough (eg. potatoes which were still crunchy) while others were cooked far too long and were almost burnt.I was looking forward to trying this place as I believe in supporting local businesses, but I shan't be returning...

Delicious, homemade cakes to go with good coffee. Very friendly service with a smile. It is very popular with local people but easy to miss if you don't know that it is there. They were also serving lunches which looked quite generous and very tasty.

Mum and I have visited on several occasions and thoroughly enjoyed our food every time. The food is freshly prepared so takes a little time but it is worth it. The owner and staff are lovely and always friendly. Great choice on the menu and value for money. Good drinks menu too. Car parking right around the back is free for up to two hours.

Delicious home-cooking from the Philippines was what we came for and that's just what we got on a wet Thursday in Calne. The delicious smell drew us to the hidden courtyard and Tess Ryan, cook and manager, could not have been more welcoming. This cafe serves home-made cakes, sandwiches, big breakfasts and more but don't miss Tess's Filipino dishes sprinkled through the menu. Hearing we were Asian food fans she offered us a selection of dishes to try - marinated chicken wings, slow-cooked pork and potato curry, meat balls, pork cutlets all served with rice and a refreshing salad of chopped red onion and tomatoes. Lovely garlicky flavours, chilli tangs and finger-lickin' good chicken wings. In Calne! Tess is a happy and capable cook, you can book the whole cafe (25 people) for a Filipino 5 course meal party for the evening, there are theme nights (see the FB page) and she told us she also regularly creates a feast in several other national cuisines. The girls serving us were charming and friendly as were the rest of the diners as this is the sort of place where you all get talking across the tables. We had lunch but the breakfast and teas will definitely bring me back when I'm in the area too. The place closes at 4.30 so get there early and chat to Tess before you order to get the most from her menu. Then buy a few Filipino ingredients from the counter to take home. I did.

I had been meaning to try this place for ages. the adjacent parking is plentiful but a bit tricky to find , as its not signposted. Otherwise its in a courtyard opposite the church surrounded by a good selection of independent shops ~ fashion, pampering, designer paints etc.I had a really tasty Mexican Panini with an interesting salad of couscous, beans and beetroot. service was good and friendly and I will definitely be back, as its a struggle to find a decent coffee or lunch venue in this area. The menu offered something different while also keeping the traditionalists happy.The occasional theme evenings (Malaysian, Indonesian, etc) looked worth a follow up too!

This is a lovely place to pop into whether its just a quick coffee with a scrumptious cake choice or a leisurely lunch, The food is interesting, there is often something of a Philippine nature on the menu, the curries are delicious. The staff always greet you with a smile.

First off, I have to say that the sandwiches we ordered (for lunch on a Saturday) were tasty, with a yummy and interesting salad. However, this was very much overshadowed by the really poor service we experienced. I went for lunch here with my family (four of us plus a two year old). There are signs on the table warning that service may be slow during busy periods, so clearly the service is an issue generally. However, the place was more than half empty when we went, so definitely not a busy period.The food arrived staggered, with a more than fifteen minute gap between the first and last meals arriving. My poor 2 year old had to sit and watch his grandparents eating for nearly twenty minutes, which as those of you who have any experience with small children will know, is not at all ideal. After 10 minutes of him watching his family eat, I went to ask if his order could be hurried through. It eventually arrived almost 10 minutes later, after my husband's and mine had been served. We ordered my son a cheese sandwich, and when it arrived (last of all the meals), it was just some brown bread with cheese, which would have taken all of 20 seconds to prepare. I felt sorry for the sole waitress, who clearly felt bad. However, we did not get an apology from the owner/cook, nor a discount from the bill.It wasn't just us though. Of the four groups in the cafe, three had to complain due to food being brought out in a staggered fashion. Slow service when a place is full is, I suppose, fair enough if you're warned about it. But when a cafe is half empty, slow service is not OK and food coming out at different times is never acceptable. I have never eaten anywhere where food comes out for the same course at such wildly differing times, so that half the party have completed their meal and waited a bit before the others' meals have even arrived.Also, not such a big deal, but when we had finished, there was barely any cake left at all, which in a tea room at half two in the afternoon, is not very impressive. We left to have our pudding somewhere else. Luckily, just fifty yards down the road is the really excellent Fay's Bistro, which has efficient service with a smile, not to mention amazing food. I'd strongly suggest steering clear of Sampagita's and visiting there instead. We certainly won't be returning.

The food is always wonderful and is served with a smile, whether you just want coffee and a cake or scone, or a meal. There's a lovely, surprising mix of dishes on the menu and Tess often has something new and exciting on her Specials Board.Well worth a visit.

Went for a breakfast and was pleasantly surprised at the choice on the menu. We went for the Filipino pork chop and the Filipino sweet sausage. Excellent food good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Clean and pleasant little cafe but no toilet. Worth a visit.

For a very reasonable price you are served between 5 and 8 courses based upon the particular theme of the evening. The owner quite often holds evening feasts with live music, well worth attending and no corkage. During the day there is a wonderful array of different food,some with an Asian twist.

This little gem is tucked away nr the church...awaiting your choice off there extensive tasty menu..The owner is very welcoming and polite.Don't spend too long looking at there fresh homemade cakes or u won't want to leave!If its nice day sit outside n take in the atmosphere...u could be anywhere in the world..Oh and before u go...sponser the owner for her nxt marathon for charity..

Four of us went to Sampaguita for lunch one very wet day, it was quite full but they managed to get us a table. I was quite surprised at the menu choice for such a small place. We all opted for a sandwich but the way they were served was lovely. I will definitely be going back to taste some of the Asian food that was on offer.Well done Sampaguita for bringing something different to Calne.

I was visiting Calne for the week and decide to visit sampaguita for tea and cake one lunch time. I was surprised to find a much more varied menu serving all sorts of dishes. I ordered one of the specials of the day which was chicken and vegetable soup. It was one of the best soups I have had in ages. Beautifully flavoured in a creamy sauce with loads of chicken and vegetables. The bread that came with the soup was also lovely (I suspect homemade) and warm. I then took two homemade scones home (one sultana and one beetroot!) which were also lovely and reasonably priced.

What a lovely find:)Was taken for coffee and went back with my husband for wonderful home cooked authentic Tai lunch. We had a perfect place to sit in the pretty floral courtyard in the sunshine .We were welcomed by the beautiful and talented owner Tess. She was extremely kind and attentive and served delicious ground coffee, fresh tropical juices and wonderful home cooked food.The special was Nozi Goring (sorry for spelling)Paul had a chicken curry and I had the tomato and mozzarella salad ,, both delicious .We will definitely come back and recommend . Such a warm and friendly atmosphere crested by Tess and her staff.

Tess puts on the occasional evening themed evening meals. This one was Italian.An excellent meal with 5 varied courses. One of the party had lived in Rome and 4 of us had visited Rome several times and we all enjoyed every dish. Authentic, tasty and light enough to be able to savour each course and flavours. Looking forward to the next one, whatever the theme.

Had a really lovely light lunch here sitting out in the courtyard in the sunshine. It was a great atmosphere, all of the staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. I'm not normally a big salad fan but the side salads here were excellent and had a mix of everything. Would definitely recommend it.

Found this cafe in Calne by accident. Tucked away in a courtyard at the back of a car park it's a real little gem. Stopped here for coffee on a cycle ride to Devizes and were really pleased. Lovely home-made teacakes, excellent coffee and friendly service.

Yet another very successful theme night from the wonderful people at Sampaguita. Many dishes I had tasted before, all well presented and very tasty. Lovely atmosphere and very helpful staff. We look forward to the next theme night.

We often pop in for coffee, and occasionally lunch. We have never been disappointed. We never use chain coffee houses, and we hope this independent one is successful. I fear it is often not very busy in the mornings, being rather tucked away. We went to the Asian Theme Night in November, and whilst it was very good value, it was a bit too spicy for us. This was due to our own taste buds, and is not a criticism of the food.

Friday 30th November 2012 I enjoyed the most wondered evening at the themed Asian night. 5 courses of the most amazing and authentic Asian food I've tasted. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and attentive service and great value at £19.95 plus BYO with no corkage. We all had a great time and will be back again in 2013. Thank you for the most wonderful evening.

Friends reunion visit, we had the Asian dinner consisting of 5 well cooked courses, bring your own wine with no corkage. The place was packed. The food was well presented and cooked, many different tastes and textures. The staff efficient, friendly and with good sense of humour. Food can be adjusted to taste on request. I haven't eaten so much or laughed so much in a long time.If you want a Chinese, go to a Chinese, This is real Asian food, so be prepared for something interesting and unique. We will definitely be back in the new year for more. By far the most interesting and enjoyable culinary experience for miles around.

Cold, lack of atmosphere, slow service from a woman I couldn't understand properly and expensive. Not many other customers so that speaks for itself.

A nice change from cafe chains. I meet friends here for coffee and cake or scone regularly. Friendly service and tasty cakes.Recently had a Filipino food theme night. Good food and good company in a friendly atmosphere. Again a nice change and an easy way to try a different cuisine. Asian themed food evening planned soon and we have already booked for a fairly large table.

the sampaguita serves the best chicken curry i have tasted in my 60 odd years. the lady owner will do anything to please [ food only ] nothing is to much trouble,

I have been to Sampaguita many times!!! The quality and choice of cakes are impressive. Everything is homemade by lovely Tess. If you have a special dietary requirement, just tell her and she’ll do her best to accommodate your requests. As a vegan normally I don’t have many choices when it comes to cakes. Sampaguita offers a mouthwatering apple and cinnamon scone and other vegan dishes. Just ask Tess and she will be more than happy to “veganize” it for you. I highly recommend her Mediterranean salad, it’s so tasty and healthy and it can be VEGAN!!! 10 out of 10!!!

Themed Filipino food night at Sampaguita. The service was very friendly and the food was yummy. This gave us the opportunity to try out a different style food which was cooked beautifully and presented wellIt was a bring your own bottle event with no corkage and we spent the evening dining and laughing. We also made some new friends. We will be going to the Asian Evening on the 1st December and bringing even more friends.During the day this is a cafe which one of our party goes to on a regular basis with no complaints.

the cake was stale, The coffee was weak, service was slow to say it was quite and the chicken pitta was dry, the chicken was not real or very cheap and it was mainly salad. I will not be going back
