10/10 best takeout Sunday dinner in Consett

Arrived at 6pm midweek not to busy got shown to our table where i was with 6 other people. we sat there for a about 20mins before so one came to take our order and asked us do we want more drinks even know we have had nothing yet, we were sat so close to the bar but it some how seamed to take a age to get our drinks i think i made a joke in there that they have went too Brazil for the coffee beans. 5pound for a pint is a bit pricey aswell but its restaurant i will let it slide. So the food arrived maybe about 15mins after ordering for 7 people is good. Food was ok i went for the roma pasta could not fault really, i also ordered garlic bread with cheese which is normally a starter but you can ask to get it severed with your main meal so thats nice of them unfortunately the garlic bread was not up to scratch barely even tasted of garlic and there was a tiny bit of cheese on it. my guests did not like the pizzas said there was barely any sauce and topping so pizzas were just bland and it was like 13pound for the pizza and like 7 pound of the garlic bread. total we spent like 150ish was it worth it maybe not. Also we arrived at 6pm and they do have a 3 course meal for like a 10pound not much choice but one of my guests asked if it was still on and they were like it finishes at 6pm for the sake of 2mins could they not let you??? but not that big of a deal it was our fault for not knowing and going earlier. Overall the place is decent a little expensive, service needs a little work front of house drinks etc they were friendly tho.

I fed the family today and got 4 dinners with 2 tagliatelle carbanaras and not a single complaint, food was hot and cooked to perfection, beautiful buttery turnip and mash, the oreo cheesecake was lush i even rang and added to my order without any issues as they were really accomodating, great experience! definitely recommended

The best stake and food I have ever eaten, the steak was absolutely beautiful, the manager and staff are really nice people, very friendly and warm. Just perfect, we had a lovely evening, the best in Consett. 🙏

My husband and I always get a very warm welcome and impeccable service when we visit Sambucas and the food is all delicious

They accidentally missed something from our order but I just phoned and they were lovely about it and brought it straight away. Order from here quite a bit and it’s always beautiful. Fantastic service.

Had a lovely meal on the 01/11/24 went back again last night 07/11/24 and food again exceeded all of my expectation's as I’d heard bad reports of the food , I couldn’t fault anything , wood highly recommend 😌

Nice food, slow drinks service but overall really nice

Delicious both the pizza and the chicken wings, and the chocolate brownie, the delivery lad forgot the drinks but brought them back straight away, very lovely. Thank you!

Always lovely, parmo was burnt at the bottom though which is a shame

Meal was quite cold and the gravy was soo thin because the pork was put in gravy it was all soggy with no crispy crackling

Unfortunately they forgot to send the pizza we ordered. The lovely delivery lady tried to sort it out but the restaurant was closed. She refunded me the cost but I hope she got her money back.

Pale undercooked chips. Pepper sauce like brown water. Pizza too thick and doughy. Mozzarella balls, big portion but not crispy and too much sauce. Risotto was nice.

Chips needed cooked longer and the beef was very dry but pizza was ok

Me and my partner went today lovely place the staff were really nice and fast service anything we asked the staff were lovely food was lovely 10/10 pizza was so fresh and pasta dish was very tasty couldn’t eat it all so they boxed it up for us to bring home and the afternoon meal deal was well worth the money can say we will be back again

First time ordering from here and I have to say I'm so impressed, the food arrived hot and was delicious, the homemade tiramisu was incredible, gotta give my hand to the chef, everything was just delicious and will definitely be ordering again. Also can I get that recipe for tiramisu 😁 I need more of that in my life. Delivery driver was great so apologetic for being only 1 minute late bless her

We went in on the off chance there was space for us on a Sunday, they were brilliant with us and easily accommodated us. The food was really good and the final bill was definitely value for money. The staff there were really good and especially good with my 4yr old daughter which really went a long way in my eyes 10/10 recommend.

Got delivery. Surf and turf. Steak was thick and juicy, cooked exactly as requested. Tasty.

We only recently started ordering from Sambuca, and can say without any doubt, they simply provide the best quality pizza we have had in years of ordering takeaway pizza! Friday night just eat gives amazing discount, giving best pizza at prices lower than usual takeaways. Try them, you absolutely won't regret it.

The quality of the food is stunning, and the Friday discount makes the prices amazing! We have used, and been happy with many pizza takeaways in the area, but even without the discount on a Friday, Sambuccas is a fantastic and excellent value meal.

Horrific. The food was vile, completely gone down hill. The carbonara was reheated, no taste at all and dry. The parmo was a chicken breast with a block of cheese on. The only good thing about the entire thing was the chips. Peppercorn sauce was the worst I’ve ever tasted. Very disappointed. Order was £50 and I wouldn’t even pay £5 for the standard of food we received.

The lobster ravioli was delicious but the pizza was bland and cold. And the garlic sauce tasted very sour and also tasteless.

Filled an extremely hungry family with some great tasting food, normally stick to pizza and pasta but tried other food and was very impressed

The food here is absolutely amazing. Ordered steak stroganoff and I honestly didn't even need the steak knife they provided. It was cooked to perfection! The staff were lovely, attentive and polite. The food, wow! The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. Don't be put off by the prices, you honestly get what you pay for, worth every penny!

Food was lovely and great value for the money we paid . Service however wasn't the best . Waited for 20/25 minutes from starter to mains and had to ask for the pizza to be boxed . Wasn't asked about dessert option or coffee so only ended up with the 2 course and paid and left.

Visited last weekend , it was my first visit to the area and it was fantastic! We drove out from Newcastle. The place was lively during lunch. The girls were attentive and did their jobs with pride. Food was excellent and the atmosphere was amazing. Decor was lovely and tables and place in general was clean including toilets! I was really impressed ! Certainly the team that was on on Tuesday was amazing. It be lovely if more staff and owners followed in their footsteps. Well done to your beautiful staff!

Great food 😋, delivered early, opted for Sunday Lunch Turkey dinner with plenty of veg, combined with the Brie starter and two types of sticky toffee pudding and a cheesecake, all lovely.

Took over 2 hours to come. Asked somebody at the shop how long and she said 5 minutes but actually took another 1 hour and 10 minutes. Absolute joke

Food was lovely, but Yorkshire puddings were a bit overdone. Thank you 😊

They managed to squeeze us (2) in without a booking which was appreciated. We were told they needed the table back in 1½ hours... plenty of time if the service was quicker. The food was good, as expected for a Sambuca. Got the early dinner set menu so the price was unbeatable. Staff otherwise were super friendly and helpful

We booked for the Bottomless Brunch 4pm-5.30pm. Restaurant staff were very attentive. Included a meal (starter and a main course) and a good selection of drinks. Lovely atmosphere - couldn't fault anything!

Ordered potato skins, deep. Fried calamari, Brie wedges & pollo cream with chips. Order arrived early & everything was perfect. Would highly recommend

With one hours notice the staff took on a baby shower for us after being let down by somewhere else, they couldnt of been any nicer or helpful, food was amazing staff were fantastic, couldnt of asked for better. Thank you all so much.

I really want to give a huge shout out to the manager and his staff, who accommodated us for our daughters wedding reception recently, after having been been let down by the original restaurant that we had booked, and with with only 5 days to go before the wedding. It was a small wedding of 22 guests, but the manager and staff were so helpful and dressed the tables with the decorations I'd supplied. The meal was lovely and the service was very good considering the restaurant was very busy. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a venue for any celebration, as well as a meal out. Many thanks to you all, we had a lovely time

Lovely food and lovely service. Food was served quickly by lovely pleasant staff who were attentive. Husband had steak whilst I had pasta roma. Both very tasty. Was very busy as we left so I would advise booking.

We’ve eaten a few times here now at Consett’s Sambuca and the food is amazing, the staff are so helpful, and the service is spot on! Even when they’re busy they’ll try to accommodate us. The pizzas are amazing and the pasta dishes are wonderful - this is our go-to eatery now!

Sambuca was always my go to for food....take away, eat in, quite bite to eat until yesterday Considering this country is so big on being inclusive & diverse I was treat terribly for being tee total but wanting to eat with some work friends who were I was told either they had to not do the bottomless brunch which would make it not very cost effective as I had to be home 2 hours later, or I had to pay for a bottomless brunch to eat some pasta which isn't worth it for me so I left after 3 minutes disappointed in the service or lack of it Not sure what difference it would make to yourselves that they were all booked in & paying for the bottomless brunch & I pay for myself... I'll remember this next time we're looking for a take away, birthday meal out, catch up with friends food since you're I was so unwelcome to eat in your restaurant yesterday

My meal would have been fine had it not been for a sauce which saturated the fish & spoilt it. Perhaps if I order this Sea Bass dish again It may be possible not to have any sauce at all. The rest of the meal was fine & a good delivery.

Food turned up over an hour late most of it cold the rest was lukewarm

Visited on a Sunday afternoon , we opted for a beef Sunday lunch, kids chicken and a pizza. Service, food and environment was spot on - they offer a great 3 course Sunday lunch which is amazing value. We will be back again in the near future.
