Sam Zairs in County Durham

Had a great meal at Sam zairs excellent food and staff couldn't be better would highly recommend this place not far from the Spanish gallery a d mining gallery

Had a coffee and a bacon sandwich. Both excellent. Really friendly and welcoming,just like cafes should be. A real little gem.

Stayed at apartment above for a week, had breakfast here everyday. Good honest food at very reasonable prices with amazing hostess

A lovely place with people that went out of their way to make my party of four people and three dogs feel welcomed. We visited twice and were not disappointed. The food was good, large portions and a choice to cater for all tastes. We were very happy with the food and the service. We'll be back!

Stopped by for a Saturday snack ~ it's bog standard fayre (nowt wrong in that) and is light and airy (at least in the front part of the cafe). There's no pretensions and no attempt to be anything other than what it is. The proprietors obvs have their regulars and happily chatted away with customers giving it a friendly feel. I had a coffee (very good) and a cheese/tomato toastie (average) with chips (good). The chips were "proper" chips not frozen, which I was expecting! It filled a hole and was all OK. Points off for: table was sticky, service was a tad slow and no choice of brown bread for the toastie. However, it was decent enough that I will re-visit next time I'm down Bish Vegas way. Not bad, not great but if you're just after a sit down and a coffee/snack then it's OK.

We were staying close by and decided to go here for breakfast. It is all freshly cooked and very tasty. Judging by the number of visitors (Always a good measure) it is a very popular place, and we could tell there were a lot of regular repeat visitors. It is really good value and not expensive at all.

A really nice cafe with friendly owners. Old school style cafe with good value, good service and decent cuppa!
