Gorgeous first class food as always. Been visiting here for a few years now and never disappointed. Great service and lovely ambiance.

Dined here Tuesday 20th August . Food was first class authentic Italian food , the Gamberi flavour was amazing , Tiramisu home made , rich and opulent the staff were warm and friendly. Will be returning soon

Quiet for Saturday lunch, food and service excellent

Just a quick lunch but as when I last came here it was solid service with solid food and friendly good humoured staff.

Called on the off chance on a gorgeous sunny day. All the doors were open which was lovely, felt like we were dining al fresco. Ordered the pizza starter to share, waiter suggested half and half as we couldn't decide which to order, it was great, Chose food from the specials board which did not disappoint, ravioli was the best I've had in a long time.😋 Will definitely be calling back & tempted to order a take away pizza as the pizza starter was so good.

I went for a birthday meal with a friend. We arrived half an hour early but we were still seated. The wait staff were very friendly and efficient. Our food and drink order was taken and delivered in good time. The food was excellent. We both ordered the streak - one medium rare the other very well done. Both were cooked to perfection to our own taste. We shared a desert but it was still too much so we took it home in a doggie back. We should have stuck to the cocktails.... I used to work here 30 years ago and whilst it has changed greatly (in size and decor) it still has the friendly family feel. I talked about old times with the manager and he gifted me with a book about John and Gip and their journey with the restaurant - I can't wait to start reading it! All in all an amazing evening. I couldn't recommend it enough!

We went tonight for a special family dinner. I was so disappointed. My partner couldn’t eat half of his dinner. His daughter said the scallops tasted grainy and put her off eating her meal. His son and I had lasagne. It was just so greasy. I actually was sick when I got home. We did complain and they deducted a meal from our bill but we still spent 80 plus on a meal that wasn’t worth a quarter of that. It really spoiled the occasion and personally felt like it was substandard. We went purely as the reviews were good and felt it sounded perfect for a nice family meal. I just think things need addressing and hopefully this will get these issues resolved.

Absolutely shocking. How much salt do you need to put in the food. Pizzas burnt lamb jus burnt and overloaded with salt. Service gruff and curt. Gone right down the hill old man Salvo would turn in his grave. Spent the night being sick and the next morning on the toilet. Avoid this place and far too expensive for the quality and quantity. My wife is pregnant and she’s had the runs too. Close your doors Salvos and sort it out. Never going again.

Have been coming to salvos for many years and what has always impressed me is the consistency in the quality of the food and service. The menu is always varied and delicious, with a really good wine/cocktail/mocktail selection. I usually get the new risotto on the menu as they really knock this out of the park but everything I’ve ever had from salvos has been top tier. Great for a family night out or a date and the staff are always so lovely and friendly. Will continue to go for many years to come I’m sure!

Had a lovely dinner date on a Saturday evening. Food was fantastic, I had a pizza and my gf had a pasta option. Great portion size and flavour. Would highly recommend coming here for any size party.

Great service. Lasagne was supposed to take 20 mins but came in 5. The quality was very good. Large selection of wines too. Would recommend for date nights.

Came in last night for dinner, were greeted by Alex in the bar, he looked after us and showed us down to our table. We ordered mozzarella and burata starters, followed by the lasagne and fruiti di mare- both meals were excellent, with amazing service. Also, my gluten allergy was well looked after here, super accommodating staff and overall lovely.

My own fault for not reading the menu properly, but sheep's cheese on brocetta! It's just wrong and disgusting. The lasagne was just tomato soup and cheese, barely a spoonful of pasta and meat to be found. And service charge automatically added for a group of 3!!!! Definitely not value for money.

Authentic, tasty and lots to order off menu. Parking nice and easy great thing is upstair ilnicely setup too. Highly recommend this place.

It's about FAMILY XX Lovely to see standards haven't changed at all. Staff are always so lovely, very knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful, and efficient. Bravo!

Food was good, service was awful. Took one hour 45 to be served two pizzas and a kid’s dessert. We were the first ones in the restaurant at 5pm, one couple came in after us, were served 3 courses and still managed to leave 30 mins before us. Then the bill came and it was over charged by £16. I complained and was barely offered an apology. I’m loathe to complain or put up a bad review, but it was pretty disappointing.

Food didn't feel or taste as good as salvos once was

As with most restaurants nowadays tables quite close together so noise volume is loud. However, food fantastic and service attentive so would visit again

Wonderful food, staff and atmosphere. Food is always delicious and we've always had amazing experiences when visiting. The vegan and gluten free menus ensure everyone is catered for and the gf pizzas are especially tasty.

Such a warm welcome this evening. Not eaten here for a while but heard new owners had taken over . Must say we were not dissatisfied. We were warmly welcomed and expertly served by Mentor . .Our food was delicious and plenty full and full of flavour after being recommended by Mentor, great advice and did not dissuade.The restaurant had a great vibe . Nice to see spotless clean smelling toilets too . We will definitely return!

Visited for lunch. We had been meaning to visit for sometime but advanced bookings are generally required and I can see why. Great food, drinks and friendly staff.

Wow.. I visited this place for the first time and what to see, this very authentic Italian restaurant made our evening very special, our little boy never eats his pizza in full and here at salvos he finished it all his meal, myself and my wife had steaks and they were both cooked to perfection of our liking and arrived just in time after we finished our starters, we can’t wait to return again, thank you for the great evening.

Have been since grandpa  made pizza and through all the changes but tonight was above all the most embarrassing and humiliating experiences I've ever had. Starting out OK the manager was a customer or my old  business. Starter was good , wine  nice good date night ... however after over 40 minutes or so we question where our pizza  were, and they arrive but clearly been hanging around,  look warm and not at there best , we didn't want them reheated and carried on on the apologies and that they won't be charged. However that wasn't the case,  when I question it I was told that we eaten it we had to pay for it , not only that the manager quoted the fact that my business was in liquidation,  totally upsetting my wife and totally ruining the whole night . I was happy to pay, and did , for the wine and the starters but not for sub standard pizza, I'm sure this will be read by the said manager and will be buried however it'll be posted on every other review sight

Me and my family had an amazing time , enjoying the most delicious food especially pizza’s and pasta’s. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff was very friendly.

I first went to Salvos in 1981. Had to queue outside but totally worth it. Now I live abroad I go when I visit family. So what a disappointment. Bruschetta compromised of cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes and olives. Awful. Like no bruschetta I’ve ever had. Microwaved beetroot and chick pea fritters. Ditto the meatballs. And horribly salty risotto. The place was empty and no wonder.

Lovely food and really nice atmosphere. Staff were super friendly and attentive, i would 100% return.

Excellent service!! I can tell that Salvo’s really care about their customer experience. I was given tasters of the wines when I couldn’t decide which one I wanted. And I was feeling very faint halfway through my meal - and Mentor who was taking care of our table went above and beyond to make sure that I was okay. He kept coming to check on me and even brought me a blanket to keep me warm. The food was sensational - very generously topped pizzas and the Funghi pasta was so beautifully made. I enjoyed every bite of it! Will definitely be coming back and highly recommend!!

Carbonara is not on their menu, but it is the best and must try!

Friendly service, good Italian food and welcomes children with crayons and colouring sheet. Able to accommodate large parties. An enjoyable meet up with ten people including a small child.

Everything about this place is really nice. Definitely one of those Italian must visit hotspots. We tried a couple of pizzas, pastas and lasagne. The lasagne could’ve been cheesier but that’s a personal preference. Would highly recommend.

We went toSalvos on the back of reviews and were not disappointed. The service was great and nothing was too much trouble. As a coeliac l was made to feel very welcome. Gluten free beers and pizza were available. The pizzas were excellent. . 2 beers 2 Prosecco 2 starters 2 pizzas 2 sides one dessert and 2 coffee £100 for top quality. Enjoy!

Salvo’s came highly recommended and did y disappoint. The menu and specials are full of exciting dishes as well as a few old favourites. It was a very busy Saturday night but we never had to wait for anything and the attention to detail by the staff was spot on. They also sell one of my favourite red wines so this was an added bonus. All the dishes were beautiful to look at and tasted amazing. Prices are reasonable, you can dine on a small budget, we had 3 courses and were happy to pay the service charge which is added to the bill.

I can see why Salvo's has such a good reputation. The food was excellent and service very friendly. Will definitely recommend.

Spent an evening at Salvo’s celebrating my partners 40th birthday. The food was fantastic as ever, however the service on the evening left a lot to be desired. The evening began with a slightly rude interaction from our waitress, and went downhill from there. Starters were cleared but our main courses didn’t appear. After a polite word, they were brought out however we were told the kitchen was backed up with orders (unlikely, given the restaurant was 1/4 full and other tables had their main courses despite ordering 10+ minutes after us). We decided to order a desert and coffee to end our evening. The coffee arrived promptly, however no desert, nor apology when questioned. Nor was any attempt made to appease the situation, in fact a 10% service charge was still added to the bill. In summary, food excellent as ever, but the service will make us go elsewhere in the future. Disappointing.

Went for a friend's birthday 4 main course 1desert 2 coffees and a bottle of house wine £120 little on the pricy side but for a birthday treat Couldn't afford to go on a regular basis

The staff here are lovely and the food is fantastic. Lots of choice on the menu and fast service times. Small outdoor area for seating at the front too.

Always such a reliable and extremely tasty Italian, my go to in Leeds. Customer service was fantastic after I made the booking as they were able to accommodate me dropping in a cake earlier in the day for a surprise for my friends birthday after our mains. The food was exquisite, fantastic large portions and also a whole vegan menu which is rare to find!! Maybe slightly higher priced than some counterparts but for the quality I don’t mind paying for out of this world food !! Remember to book in advance to avoid disappointment is my only advice when it comes to here !!

Bank Holiday Monday evening, family visit had booked in advance. The restaurant was busy with a good atmosphere. We were served quickly and efficiently. The food was lovely, mostly all chose different things from menu, all meals were good portion sizes and fresh. Would definitely recommend.

The food and service couldn’t have been bettered. Small family outing of mixed ages and abilities were fed and entertained so beautifully. Fussy eaters were extremely satisfied. Excellent children’s menu. It was just a lovely family atmosphere in the restaurant, kind and unhurried. Very satisfied customers (and the pugliesi pizza cannot be bettered! Says this gran)

Always love a trip to Salvos. My dad has been having the international pizza since the restaurant first opened in the 70’s and is still never disappointed. The food and service were excellent and an interesting selection of wines on offer

Lovely dining experience at Salvo's! Accomodated a large group booking! I had the arancini and ox cheek pasta which were both incredible! Busy restaurant which shows it's popularity but food still arrived in good time! Will definitely return!

I haven't been to Salvo's for years but on a visit to Leeds, we were struggling to find a restaurant we would all like and that we hadn't been to before. Technically, I had been to Salvo's in the dim and distant past but when the name was suggested, I was immediately interested in a return trip. The short journey to Headingley was so worth it. Lovely food, great atmosphere, great service. Definitely would recommend if you like good Italian food.

Called here with my two daughters as we were looking for a spot of lunch. After looking on Google Maps we chose this place. WOW! What a decision we made. The food was lovely and fresh tasting. We started off with ciabatta, oil and balsamic vinegar and also tomato ciabatta. For our mains we had Meatballs on ciabatta and the all day Italian breakfast. Whilst waiting for our food which was cooked fresh within the open kitchen at the rear of the Café, I watched the owner take great pleasure in creating what looked like a fantastic sharing board. Somebody who takes great pride in their food creations deserves a mention every time. We will be back in the area next weekend and are taking the opportunity to visit again. I just wish that this establishment was closer to home.

Good food as always, though my favourite (aubergine parmigiana) had gone from the menu. Service a little slow (though very busy). And very noisy - made conversation difficult.

Gorgeous food, I had a prawn starter from the special which was one of the best starters I’ve ever had, needs to be on the main menu!! Thin and crispy pizzas and reasonably priced in my opinion. If I’m being fussy the only negative for us was that the padding in the chairs had worn away so they started to get uncomfortable, but the service was pretty fast so this wasn’t a big issue for us. Would recommend salvos!

Amazing Italian food, cannot recommend enough

Amazing still after 30 years! I used to come here when I was a student in Leeds over 30 Years ago and it was always a great experience. I returned today with my daughter who is hoping to study in Leeds. Although it looks very different (& stylish) inside, the food is amazing as I remember and the service was friendly and welcoming. Will make sure I don’t leave it another 30 Years!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Salvos last night! Everything we had was delicious but the highlight for me was the lamb shoulder ragu! ☺️ looking forward to coming back soon 💗

Our second visit here and I got the same pasta dish with all the fish, scallops, prawns, squid & mussels and it didn't disappoint again. Its just amazing best I've ever tasted so worth it 👌 I'll be definitely visiting again for sure.
