10/10. The most consistent and flavourful restaurant in Glasgow. Prices are also reasonable and not astronomical like some other places. I recommend the honey chilli chicken, staff are also very kind and helpful.

Called in today to try out the food......was not disappointed. Ordered salt and chilli chicken with rice and curry sauce. Partner ordered salt and chilli chicken with chips and Hoisin sauce. Food came out really quick and was well presented. Great portion sizes for the 2 course menu and tasted amazing. Will be going back again soon. 😎😎😎

We went with a large group of us including 2 young kids so eating out is always somewhat challenging. The service was fantastic and the staff were so kind and loved the kids, despite them making a mess (sorry guys) The food was incredible and the vibe/ atmosphere was really nice. Would definitely come back again and would recommend!

I highly recommended. The food is tasty🤤, the portions are big and good service. In my opinion one of the best Chinese restaurant in shawlands. My favourite dish is the black pepper beef with rice on the side. Amazing 🤩

Been in here numerous times now but never really posted. Never ceases to amaze me, the food is fantastic, the staff are attentive with big smiles on their faces all the time. At this time and age where everything is so expensive, especially eating out, this place is a breath of fresh air when it comes down to paying the bill as it’s pretty cheap for such fantastic food and drinks. It’s one of my go to’s when I want something tasty(which is all the time) highly recommend to anyone!

Was here couple days ago with some friends for a social get together. What can I say? Food was excellent and the service was spot on with friendly faces that were always smiling. It’s one of those places that you can go with friends or family and just enjoy the great food and not worry about the bill being too expensive. I definately would recommend this little gem of a place to anyone that’s looking for great food, great service(with a smile) and a great time.

Have been a frequent customer of your restaurant for a while now, my 5 year old son needed to use the toilet I went in, asked politely and was refused. Food is good but sadly I will not be back. Please teach your staff to be a little more kind and a little more human. Guess there's a first time for everything just a shame it was a Glasgow business.

Food was just very mediocre. Nothing special. The service was amazing, the aesthetic and the atmosphere was lovely but the food was not up to scratch. The chips were a bit soggy, the curry tasted like box curry. The sauces were all a bit runny. The tofu was quite nice but that was about it. Not nice enough for the price. The drinks were lovely, a nice variety with great signature cocktails. The drinks were decently prices. Can't honestly recommend it, sorry.

I tried the chicken breast curry, portion is pretty generous, the taste is okay, it had a lot of onions in it, the chicken is a bit dry. The curry tastes like your local Chinese takeaways curry, I was expecting this to be better. I also tried the salt and chilli wings. The batter is really nice, airy and crunchy, the seasoning is good, the wings were dry as well. The menu has some variety but I do wish they do more salt and chilli dishes as a side as well instead of just main portion. Friendly services, I like the decorations as well, chill vibes. And it’s the sister restaurant to lychee oriental in town.

Went for a sit in meal and was lovely but twice had home delivery and sorry but never again , the chips were only half cooked the salt and chilli wings were tasteless and hard batter all round and dry , satay sauce and chilli sauce was like water , Rice clumpy very disappointed and don’t think I will be ordering again, on that note it’s an Amen from us

Had dinner at Salt & Chilli tonight and the food was delicious. The peanut sauce is truly the best I've ever had. The chicken wings were tasty and came with a lovely sweet and tangy sauce. The salt and chilli crab was unique, and had lots of flavour. The katsu wrap was also amazing. Everything was tasty and fresh, and would highly recommend anyone to visit if in shawlands. The service is super friendly too ☺️

Visited today (26 July 2024) and had a lovely 2 course lunch for £12. Surroundings very smart, staff friendly amd efficient and the food was lovely - definitely somewhere in Shawlands worth dropping into.

I went here with my son candy friend as people were raving about it. I ordered beef in Blackburn and my son got a chicken dish, my friend just wanted a couple of starters and chips with curry sauce. Everything was poor. My food was tasteless, the curry sauce was disgusting ( out a packet) chips are skinny French fried but like matchsticks.my son left most of his ( tasteless but 🔥) This is a very overpriced fake Chinese style takeaway but lacks the quality of Chinese food. Definitely won't be going back.

My partner and I ordered a takeaway away there last week .we were very disappointed with the food when we got home. I had ordered a chicken satay on the skewers with satay sauce. I have never seen Satay like it. The chicken on the skewers were very small I got what it looked like lettuce with it no onions or peppers the chicken was so dry that I could not get it off the skewers. The sauce was the smallest portion ever. It didn't even cover one skewer never mind 3. My partner had ordered ribs which took were the smallest ribs ever. I would never go back there or advise anyone else to go.

Went here for the first time last night and will definitely be back! The food was excellent, fantastic portion sizes too. The service, despite being really busy, was excellent, the staff were lovely and very attentive.

Be it by myself or with friends, eating in or take away, I am never disappointed. The food is always top notch and the staff are really pleasant giving it a comfortable environment that made me feel happy to start going there regularly.

Second time ordering and both times it’s been sensational. Food always arrived quickly and was roasting hot. The salt and chilli box comes with a good amount of chicken and loads of chips. Got the sriracha mayo and that goes perfectly with the chips and chicken. Tried the Katsu curry with jasmine rice tonight and was really impressed. The curry sauce tub has little chunks of carrot and other veg through it which makes it taste even better, the katsu chicken was lovely and crispy and there was loads of jasmine rice. Overall a really good portion size, tastes amazing, a little bit on the expensive side but if you can get an offer on apps like Uber etc then it’s 100% worth ordering.

Delicious food in the heart of the Southside. Great, friendly service from attentive staff. Best chicken satay for mile's around. The banana fritters are great and the lunchtime menu is especially good value if you are able to make it for that. Halal options are available too.

Great find in shawlands, everything super fresh and very tasty, will be back. Don't know why they seem to prefere cash. It's a bit of a bummer having to go to the bank and get soaked in the rain

Disappointing food. Everything was deep fried, no vegetables in any of the dishes. I expected light fragrant Thai stir-fries and curries - what I got was derp-fried greasy frozen food. What a shame

DO NOT EAT HERE we have just left this restaurant and i wish we hadn’t even bothered walking in. we were sat and ordered drinks, starters and mains. the starters (hot honey wings and duck rolls) were okay but our mains were genuinely foul. the crab and squid were honestly disgusting, the meat did not taste remotely fresh and the batter was powdery and caked in a ridiculously salty spice mix that is still burning my mouth even after we’ve left. all the food was powdery with the same spice mix and was honestly making me gag at the table. the hoisin sauce was scalding hot and tasted only of salt. there was honestly nothing to redeem these terrible meals. when i brought this up to the staff, they brought over who i can only assume was the manager, as when he approached the table he just said “what’s the problem?” i explained that we were unhappy with the meal and that the meat did not taste at all fresh, to which i was assured that the meat is all fresh. when we asked when it was ordered, he then admitted that none of the meat was in fact fresh and that it was frozen meat that he could not tell us when had been ordered. if you are thinking of having a meal here, i urge you not to. if a manager will blatantly lie at the table to their customers about the food they are serving them, no one should be eating there. i usually wouldn’t leave a review like this but we aren’t even 20 minutes out of the restaurant and i have been sick in my mouth several times. If I could leave 0 stars I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Really disappointing experience. Was brought the wrong order. I ate it to save them making another and so we wouldn’t have to wait. Regretted it. The chicken curry was the worst I’ve ever tasted. Watery, tasteless. Chicken was rubbery. Not even at school dinners level. They didn’t offer us anything- a soft drink etc, to make up for the fact they messed up the order. Charged full price for all. Won’t be back

A big let down. I feel this place had a reputation for being something different and 'hype' around it. We booked and sat in. The restaurant is small and was relatively quiet, this meant we were touching distance of the table beside us and could hear their full conversation as if we were all sat at the same table. The food was the biggest let down. The chicken was like popcorn chicken out of a supermarket, it was not great quality and had nothing 'special' about it. The whole meal was really a mediocre chinese takeaway meal but that we were were paying high prices to sit and dine-in. The portions were pretty small also. Service was good as they had more staff and customers. We ate 2 courses and left within an hour as the food was brought out extremely quickly and plates cleared as soon as you put your cutlery down.

Ordered special mix box ...only 3 wings ! 3 - 1inch long ribs with next to no meat on them and several ofsmallest popcorn chicken ever and handful . Plus delivery and driver paid 18.95 ...other Chinese deliver a packed pizza box this was a tiny fraction of it kebab size box ...steer clear

The food was not restaurant quality! Food was cold. The spring rolls had salad. That is the exact amount that was given. The chips do not look cooked. Contacted Uber Eats , they are not interested. Contacted restaurant and they did not respond!!!

Have eaten here or gotten takeaway three times. Wanted to like it but it's really bad..poor quality and overpriced each time. Most of the items on the menu are far too sweet. The guy who owns it should really be ashamed of what he's peddling as quality cuisine . £6 for three spring rolls which were mostly stodge and stale chips. Bao was really wet and coupled with some really dry meat . Avoid this place as there's plenty of other better in the southside.

Nightmare, ordered tofu and got chicken I see this has happened before on reviews, this place needs to get its act together. Was told as thru deliveroo we would have to make our own way to pick up right dish as too expensive for them to send out?? Cant drive as i have tonic clonic epilepsy and they send food a vegan cant eat, an absolute disgrace terrible customer service, never again.

My partner and I ordered the Salt and chilli special box (contains some chicken wings, ribs, boneless chicken) with a choice of side and sauce. We had satay/sweet chilli with the salt and chilli fries and it was delicious! Came prepared great. Smelled incredible as soon as we got it in the house and was great sized portions for the price too. Would 100% buy from here again!

I've been a vegetarian for 10 years I've just ordered for delivery salt and chilli tofu and been sent salt and chilli chicken and ate chicken for the first time in ten years accidentally even though it clearly says tofu on my order 😭 gutted

Just tried this place, i got the chilli honey wings & the sticky ribs, OMG, beautiful. Seriously, it was superb & i will 100% definitely be a regular. Delivery took about 20 minutes, phoned to ask about something, lady was very polite & helpful. Probably get something tomorrow now 😂. But genuinely, food is great, thanks for a lovely meal 👍🏻👍🏻

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here! It has great food and quick service. I highly recommend the french toast with nutella, it's heavenly! I'll be back just for the french toast! The only downsides are portion size (I was starving after the main) and how the waitress hovered over the table to clear things up. Otherwise, it was pleasant and clean.

Trying a new place can be a delightful experience, but I wouldn’t recommend visiting this Chinese restaurant on an empty stomach. Despite being a Chinese eatery, they surprisingly don’t offer Stirfry. We tried their renowned salt and chilli chicken and prawn, but it was disappointingly tasteless and not worth the price. If you’re in search of a satisfying Chinese meal, this might not be the best recommendation. Overly priced food!

Had a takeaway last night from here, what can I say... super tasty, fresh and tasted healthy (not greasy or overly salty). The satay sauce is honestly one of the greatest sauces I've ever eaten anywhere, just perfect.

Lovely place for some Chinese food, and as the name of the place suggests, most dishes carry some spiciness. With my family, we tried chicken satay skewers, salt & chilli soft shell crab (with salt & chilli fries) and beef brisket curry. Chicken satay was grilled to perfection, tried the same thing in a few other places and a lot of the time the chicken would be overcooked - but this place timed it just right. The soft shell crab was nice as well, don't think it's a protein that a lot of other places do

Ordered two take away ( one Hong Kong Chicken and the other a curry). Chicken was not fresh and partner had severe stomach issues. It’s dishes has same texture and taste! Pity looked promising compared to all the other Chinese in the area

The Partick branch got shut down with zero notice nor was it posted anywhere so had no clue. Tried ordering from Shawlands tonight and was so disappointed I didn't even finish it. Portions were halved compared to Partick, even the veggie spring rolls were tiny compared, and the quality was overall not great. Meat was overdone, chips stale and limp. Gutted, used to be my favourite. Will unfortunately have to avoid going forward considering what we were charged.

Great experience and delicious Chinese food! It's a small menu but curated with great options and classics. We shared a starter with chicken satay, the perfect start. The I had an amazing duck bao packed with tasty duck meat, the bun was nice and fluffy, loved it! The fries are skinny and crispy, very tasty. Salt and chilli chicken was also great. There are a few cocktails on the menu, i definitely recommend the Lychee Daiquiri!! Lovely restaurant and team, i can see us going back here for more Cantonese scran when in Shawlands.

Ordered the Hong Kong chicken. Only award this thing won was in delivering me a one way trip to diabetes. Sauce was incredibly sweet and overpowered all other flavour. Felt compelled to spit out the food if not for the price tag. Avoid if you have any sense of self-respect.

First time ordering from here today, got the Salt and Chilli Special with fries, and the Salt and Chilli Crab with rice on Deliveroo. Only edible thing was the rice. Everything else was so incredibly salty that it was completely inedible. Maybe just an off day, but won't be taking a chance on it again. Inside of my mouth is raw from the amount of salt.

I have only ordered take out from here so far and it has been absolutely delicious. I usually get the salt and chilli chicken with rice or chips and the katsu bao buns and they are so yummy. The chicken is always cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The portion sizes are quite big but even when reheated the food is perfect. I absolutely love the satay sauce, spicy but peanut-y. I would 100% recommend here and will hopefully be going here for a nice meal soon.

Fine addition to Shawlands. Been a few times now. Delicious food, try the Hong Kong chicken, wonderful. Starters were excellent too. Zing zing ribs and salt n chilli chicken wings. Only 1 beer (Staropramen) and 1 cider on draft. Frozen cocktails available. Staff are all really efficient and friendly.

After enquiring about the 12% service charge (there was no mention of it anywhere) we also found out that none of it goes to front and back staff.

Been trying to find a good quality Chinese in Shawlands since we moved here and I have to say this is 10/10 highly recommend!

Nice addition to Shawlands. Popped in on a Thursday evening with no booking and we’re sat quickly. Ordered 2 beer, salt and chilli chicken and General Tso chicken. Surprised that the General Tso was the show stopped and the salt and chilli chicken was just average (quite dry/plain) considering the name of the restaurant. Would visit again and try more if he menu

I enjoyed what we had here for dinner. The place is immaculate and the service was prompt. A condensed but decent menu. The only issue I had is that the food came about 5 minutes after we ordered, and there are no desserts available, so we were basically finished dinner within about 30 minutes of arriving - it was over really quickly. We ordered the honey chilli chicken and the General Tso chicken. They were good. Not amazing, didn’t blow my mind, but good enough. There are loads of good Chinese options in Glasgow - I’m not sure this is one I would revisit.

Really nice food and reasonably priced. Lives up to its name - best salt and chilli I’ve had in a while. Great service too as we went on a Saturday night and didn’t have a table booked but the staff still managed to find us a table within minutes. Highly recommended.

Food was all cooked well, service good and plenty of options on the menu. Located centrally in Shawlands and the decor has been upgraded since the last place. Can see this place being busy at the weekend so best to book. Recommended the salt n chilli chicken pieces.

Just newly opened but loved the food. Duck Bao was excellent, as was the Katsu Curry and all looked good as well as taste. Will definitely be dinner again soon as a definite change from usual oriental food options.
