Found this place completely by accident but their food is tasty! I hate anaemic, undercooked chips and this place gets them just right.

9pm all cooked to order plenty seat if you want to eat in. Great food this was medium cod chips boxed and super still when got home. Great food will use again.

The food was ordered around 1600 for around a 1700 delivery. On arrival, the cod was hot, but the batter was soggy, Not at all crispy as was expected. As a first-time user of Salt and Vinegar, I should have expected a more efficient service even though they were busy, as I ordered a good hour before the delivery time.

Great little place to eat like a local, prices great, portions too big for us... The service was absolutely friendly and accommodating. Gladly again at any time, price performance absolutely top...

Great size portions, chips were good but unfortunately the fish batter was very flat and greasy (not fluffy or cooked on the inside and tasteless).

I get chicken wings and chips from here regularly and the service from Rizwan and the team is always top quality. Always love my wings and chips, knocks the socks out of the competition. Highly recommend this place

Turned up fairly close to closing and expected the food to be dry and past its best but it was still good. Fish was average, chips were great but the curry sauce was superb.

We tried this place out after a disappointing take away from our local f+c shop. From now on, this place is our go to! The fish (haddock) was superb - fresh and perfectly cooked, the batter was so delicious and the chips moreish and that perfect mix of crispy and squishy. We also had mushy peas which again were delicious. Everything was really bloody good.

My wife, my little one and I went to Salt & Vinegar over the Easter break. The first thing that stood out was how clean and spacious the place was compared to a typical fish and chips place. We ordered cod and chips and spicy wings. I loved the cod and chips, especially the new curry sauce they’ve come up with. My little one seemed to enjoy the spicy wings. They were spicy but kept going at them with a sip of fruit shot after every bite!! There’s a certain warmth to the staff that I could get used to. I will be visiting there soon.

Arrived a little late, but hot, however, the scampi and breaded mushrooms were overcooked. The size of the scampi was just too small

This place is under new management and I was very impressed with the batter on my cod. I haven’t had such crispy batter in many many years. The chips were excellent too! I will be coming back to this chippy

The food was really bad. Very disappointed that I waited quite a while, when the place was near empty, for food that was stale and tasted like it had been refried. The batter was hard and oily, the fish was stale (probably sat around for a while and the battered sausage was horrid. Chip’s definitely had been refried. Really disappointed. Table full of unhappy eaters. I think they’re cooking too much in advance and the oil probably needs changing.

I was told over the phone that large cods come with chips over the phone When order arrived I was told I shoudl order chips separately £13 pounds for fish only ?

Avoid, might be the worst chips and saveloy I’ve ever had. Such a shame. Savaloy was flavourless and chips were virtually inedible. I had loads of crumbs and over fried chips that were hollow

We are visiting from New Zealand and we loooove fish and chips over there and this was a nice reminder of home. Really friendly service, delicious chips, and massive portions. Had enough tables and seats to dine in if you like. Would def recommend a visit.

As a tourist, I have eaten fish and chips at typical touristy spots but have always felt the fish and batter to be bland and the vinegar not so flavourful. I ordered the fish and chips meal from this restaurant after smelling a really good vinegar scent from another order. The portion size was huge, as I couldn’t finish it by myself, and the batter along with the fish was very flavourful. I didn’t need to use a lot of tartar sauce and the vinegar was extremely tasty on the chips. Highly recommend this place!

I recently stumbled upon this fish and chips shop and couldn't be happier with my experience. I rarely eat fish and chips, but this time was truly exceptional. Very disappointing. Quality of food is terrible. Chips inedible, definitely refried who knows how many times.. very slow service too .. waited almost half hour, you'd think that's a decent amount of time to at least get fresh chips!! Couldn't eat them. Not going to return.

Usually get our chips from here as it’s local to us, so a shame I feel the need warn others. Inedible food. Chips definitely not fresh, had a very strange taste to them - must be the oil they were cooked in? Battered sausage, again thrown away after one mouthful. Tried to make my partner pay for extra items / a larger portion that he hadn’t ordered. Not sure how a chippy can get the basics so badly wrong?! Suppose they’re counting on some well oiled rugby fans to cough up for bad food and have the pleasure of being overcharged for it.

Lovely food. Our chosen drink was was not available so alternative was sent. Unfortunately it was a full sugar one which isn’t great. Not end of world though. The mushy peas were forgotten and not in the bag, so is a £2.20 credit to my account possible? Thank you.

Bought fish n chips for 2nd time under new management. Still not giving fresh chips and fish was fried dark brown. I desperately want this place to succeed but honestly... Increasing prices recently between 15-20% and then reducing the quality of food is not on. Also hugely expanding the menu going from a VERY good quality fish shop to now selling chicken wings and even samoosas on match day. Is the chips, fish and chicken wings friend in the same oil? The chips I had was definitely stale and refried. Its not fresh anymore and fish overcooked. Wasted opportunity to keep a local buying regularly. I can also see similar reviews from others but management is not actioning the feedback. My review 2 years ago: Fantastic! Genuinely great f&c! Batter is light and much less oily to others I've had before. They replace oil twice daily. Don't change the recipe, it works!

I had a cod and chips. Fish was really crisp and tasty. Excellent customer service. Definitely would go back.

We saw this place when we were driving home and all of us were hungry and kids wanted to eat chips. I was surprised to see it open on Sunday so went in to check. Ordered 3 large chips and 15 Spicy chicken wings. Was informed that there was a 10-15 minutes wait which was okay I was really surprised to see the portion size of the large chips. Wish I had known then I would have ordered only two. But this is good value for money. The spicy chicken wings weren't very spicy but were a little on the saltier side. But the kids enjoyed it. Overall, I recommend this place and am looking forward to trying the fish too

The whole experience was outstanding from the time we entered till the time we left. Food was amazing and everything on the menu was available. The portions were huge and delicious and did not compromise on the quality and taste at all. I will definitely go there again for a good Fish and Chips.

This place is so frustrating. When they do fresh chips, they are excellent. Unfortunately, I got the refried old chips this time. Very poor!

Popped in here after a day at the races and Sam, the owner was really nice and chatty, while we were there some kids came in and as he was closing gave them lots of extra to share. Food was freshly cooked, and huge portions. Really great plaice for your fish and chip fix.

Usually the best fish and chips in the area and we have been customer since opening. Unfortunately tonight was very bad compared to the usual standards - chips was soggy, batter of the fish and sausage was very hard and dark compared to the usual golden and fluffy, though fish was fresh. Hopefully it’s just a one off!

A very decent fish and chips at a reasonable price compared to the many hotdogs vendors on the way too/from Twickenham stadium. Just ever so slightly off the main route to the station, which means much shorter queues than any other option or the nearby tesco or M&S

Had a nice lunch here. I ordered a small cod strip and chips. It was tasty and the thing I was really impressed with is I didn't feel "heavy" as I would usually feel eating and fish and chips in other restaurants which showed me that they took care in battering and preparing their food. Only downfall was the chips were a bit lukewarm, but that's just probably me being over judgemental. The customer service was amazing. Really friendly staff whom made me feel very comfortable and welcome. Reasonably priced as well.

Went in only half committed, looked at menu was not particularly inspired. Saw other people's food thought 'looks the business' instantly convinced. Chips golden and chrispy and hot. Glad I changed my mind. For those whose think posh areas can't do banging chips, think again. I thought that and was proved wrong. Salt and vinegar chipshop I salute you. No complaints here. Been visiting them every now and then since they opened a year or so ago. Very impressed. Always friendly and the food is very nice. Large portions and so I usually have enough left for a refried chip butty the next day! 😋 In fact, I’m just about to phone through an order right now and thought it was time I left a review.

I know fish n chips is being priced beyond the many but sellers need to keep the quality up too. The battered cod here was big on batter but small on fish. I might have been unlucky though! For me the chips were over cooked.

First time here I’m sure the comments are all fake chips at so dry and hard let that’s a large chips and savaloy For £8.20 really sea fresh further in town is a lot lot better at leas you get fresh chips not the ones that having been sitting around for ages they weren’t frsh no way someone came in after me and you cooked fresh the ones I had there been there a while

Good fish for good price. You can choose the size of your fish and if you are not a fish lover, you can choose from few other options such as chicken wings, burger etc. If the weather is bad, you can sit and enjoy your meal inside. Only one negative point, the drink I bought was more than two months after the best before date.

I ordered this from Uber Eats and apart from them not applying my 30% discount which I put on before ordering (which I won't blame Salt and Pepper for), it would have been great except for two things: - 1. Skin on the fish. This is a no no. Not only does it taste horrible but it also means wasting the batter on the skin side as it is rendered inedible. 2. No salt and vinegar on the chips so I had to add my own. For a restaurant which calls itself 'Salt and Vinegar' it's somewhat ridiculous for them to not actually put any on the chips! Get the above two right next time and I might actually award five out of five next time. 🙁

Have been here before and best chip shop we've found in Twickenham. However just been down this evening and it's shut 😭 on a saturday night! I'm a pregnant lady with a craving for chips so feeling very disappointed.
