The most delicious food, so flavourful with regional dishes from different parts of India. And exceptional service. The lovely waiter prepared a mini dessert birthday surprise for my husband which made our day.

Possibly the best Indian food I've ever had. Hard to say for sure as I've been to so many, but it's definitely amongst the top at the very least!! Strong recommend.

Really special food - not your average Indian. This place really cares about their menu and delivers something unique, far from the generic recipes of nearby restaurants. A real hidden gem!

Such a lovely restaurant. Had the taster menu and I’d recommend it to anyone. Included slightly different things and it was all excellent. Unlimited mains was a bonus too.

The food was good. The service was not very warm or welcoming.

First time ordering from here and the food was absolutely amazing, such good flavour, very authentic and clearly freshly made. We really enjoyed all of the food that we ordered. However, the portion sizes were so small, we spent nearly £40 and were both left still hungry which is not ideal. The naan bread is so small also. We would have to order more dishes next time but then this would make for a very expensive takeaway. We also did order chips but these were missed by accident but there was a bad phone line, so that’s fine as they did then bring these back out for us and didn’t charge for them, which was really lovely. Can’t rate the atmosphere as have not eaten in the restaurant. Would definitely eat here or order from here again but maybe only for a special occasion just due to the price range.

I took my partner here to celebrate her birthday. We were truly delighted with the service, food, and atmosphere at this wonderful Indian restaurant. The waiter was particularly nice; nothing was too much trouble. My partner mentioned it was her birthday after our main course, and the next thing we knew, the waiter had returned with a small serving of ice cream with a candle and "Happy Birthday" on it. It was a lovely little gesture that truly made the evening. We live about an hour away, but we will definitely return in the future. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Banbury who wants really delicious Indian food.

Lovely restaurant with a nice variety of Indian cuisine to choose from. I'm not indian, so I got help from the staff to choose from the menu. Staff are very respectful, calm and responsive. Prices are reasonable.

We were first in for a quick early evening meal but they were very welcoming without being annoying. Really tasty food and a bit different from standard stuff in generic sauce

It was absolutely dreadful, 3 chicken tikka masalas that were like Heinz tomato soup with a touch of curry powder. Can’t believe what we just received who ever cooked it has no idea what they’re doing and we will never order from here again. Avoid - Complete Rip off and Joke

My husband and I stayed in Banbury and decided to try here for our evening meal. The service was quick, staff polite and courteous. The food was absolutely amazing, we would definitely recommend anyone visiting the area to try it out if you enjoy Indian food.

Have eaten in the restaurant and had a delivery, and both times the food was excellent and the customer service was too. Highly recommended. Make sure you try the fig and coriander naan … it’s incredible!

Popped in for a curry. Got to up there with the best, staff are amazing, they couldn't do enough for us.

Excellent choice of the options available in Banbury - went based on previous Google reviews and was glad to have made the choice. We went on a Wednesday evening so wasnt that busy but Poppadoms were still fresh, thin and crispy, the pickles tasty albeit a little sparse but we didn't ask for more so they may have obliged. Food is based on southern Indian cuisine so menu had a mix of the usual regulars plus a some less well known. I opted for one I'd not had previously marked on the spicier end of the range, the waiter offered a taste of the sauce heat before confirming which was a nice touch. All of found our curry choices tasty, pillau rice was fragrant and the nan bread fresh and not overly covered in ghee. Will be returning, sorry didn't take any pictures but it was all well presented also.

We went to this authentic Kerala restaurant for my husband birthday. Waiter was very kind and attentive to any of our request. The food was great and it transported straight back to Kerala! We will recommend the restaurant!

I’ve been meaning to write this best curry I’ve had in Banbury, very different to other more traditional restaurants but could not fault anything that we ate. - The chicken biryani was probably the best I’ve had, And love to see Some really different dishes on the menu as well, I’ve also tried one of the beef curries, which was amazing as. We live in Banbury and so are really pleased this is on our doorstep. Can’t wait to go back and try the lunch menu as they sell dosa

I had a leisurely meal on a Sunday night. I ate the beef curry, and although it got spicy as it went on, it was really delicious. It's so spicy that you get addicted to it. I would like to come again if I have a chance.

Having eaten in Salkaara several times, we've always enjoyed the food; great variety of South Indian flavours very nicely presented.

Excellent food, one of the best indians ive ever had. However, on the tasting menu, the dessert is labelled as “chef’s selection”. This turned out to be a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

The food is very nice, the waiter served me was very polite and helpful, he recommended foods talked me trough the manu and even spoken with the chef to cosrumize my dinner! Thank you guys 5 stars! Cant wait to come back!

Was staying in Banbury for work and saw this restaurant pop up as a nearby option. I am so so glad I decided to visit this restaurant. What an AMAZING find ! I was greeted warmly by Santosh as soon as I walked in. I wanted to order a couple of vegetarian dishes and Santosh spent some time talking through the various options. I eventually decided upon lemon rice , sambar( South Indian dhall), and thoran ( keralan mix vegetables). The meal didn’t take long , I was actually enjoying the songs that were being played ! Santosh even gave me so raita (yoghurt ) just in case the meal was too hot 😀. The sambar was sublime - it was truly an authentic South Indian dish that tasted so good. The lemon rice had the right amount of zing and flavour to it. The thoran completed my fantastic South Indian dinner. And as Santosh predicted, the raita was a welcome cooling addition. I would 100% recommend this restaurant. I am definitely coming back again. How lucky are the people of Banbury !!!

Do not visit this place. I dined here with my partner a few weeks back. Food was overpriced £10.00 per a chicken tikka masala with four small slices of chicken, swimming in a sauce which tasted like it was from a ready meal. Was bot given full naan bread, it was sliced into four parts. Waiter did not greet us at the door, or was at the bar, had to call to be seated. Toilets are not clean. My partner had to ask for new hand soap, and even put it in the holdel for them! The chef claims that the food is different from over Indian restaurants, never a truer word said.

Yummy Indian food, service was great and ambience was perfect. The mini Thali meals was filling and tasted great. Highly recommend their vegetable manga curry, mango lassi and paneer tikka.

No ideo how this place isn’t booked out weeks in advance! Easily the best Indian food if not the best restaurant overall in Banbury. Service is always amazing and very attentive, feels almost like a fine dining experience. The food is flawless every time (can especially praise the dhal makhani and Bombay aloo). So happy to have this lovely restaurant near us!

It was an absolute joy to visit this wonderful restaurant. The food was lovely especially the chicken 65 starter and Lamb curry, staff were excellent just the perfect mix of being attentive and letting us enjoy our food if you live in banbury please pay a visit you will not regret!

Food was amazing, not just your run-of-the-mill kormas, jalfrezis, or vindaloos, but some beautifully spiced, beautifully presented regional dishes. All the staff were very attentive, without being intrusive. It was a truly lovely evening.

This is the best Indian restaurant we have ever discovered. The flavours and the presentation of the dishes is Indian fine dining, but the atmosphere and service is relaxed and friendly. Will definitely be returning regularly.

Best curry I've ever had, as far as I recall. The atmosphere was chill and inviting, yet also felt stylish and new. All of the food looked and tasted great, portions were pretty good too! Chicken 65 starter was flavourful and presented well. Kozhikode Chicken Mulakittathu, basmati rice and roti for the main were a perfect combination; just the right level of spice, and amount of food to fill me up. Service was outstanding, good balance between attentiveness and letting us get on with our meal. Will certainly be back again!

This was quite possibly the best Indian food in my life. The staff are more than attentive, it's a little bit off the main strip, but so glad we went. Most impressed, nice decor and proper South *nd8an food going👍👍👍

This was our first time to Salkaara Indian Restaurant. We had received numerous compliments from friends and decided to give it a try. 2 minutes after sitting down there was a power cut, but fortunately just the lighting circuit and a few other things. They were able to continue with cooking, so we were happy to eat under candle light which was quite romantic! Fortunately other guests arrived and were happy to join the romantic setting! The food was exceptionally delicious and beautifully presented and piping hot. Definitely Al a Carte dining and very reasonably priced! Will be back!

Tikka masala tastes like tomato soup .. chicken very tough .. not great at all

I came to this restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday. It's a great place with a pleasant ambiance, delightful food, and excellent customer service.

The food here is delicious, very different to the usual curry experience. As a vegetarian there was a good selection for me to choose from. My friends, non-veggies, enjoyed a lamb byriani and the surf & turf dishes, which they both really enjoyed. The staff were great, not over-attentive but still friendly, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. I’ll definitely return.

We had an amazing food experience at Salkaara, tried garlic naan, chilli coriander naan, pachkari korma, chicken tikka and popadoms..everything was cooked perfectly and tasty…Must visit if you are bored of regular fast food stuff 😋😃😃 Thank you Salkaara for fabulous dining experience..Must visit guys!!!

1 year old and absolutely smashing it! Is Salkaara Banburys best curry? Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Just on Broad Street, parking availible at the range or market place. Interior ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I didnt have any complaints about the interior. It was nice enough and toilets clean. Scored an extra star for playing windpipe versions of pop music which really made a vibe. Service ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ The restaurant wasn't very busy as it was a Sunday lunchtime however the waiter was welcoming and attentive. All requests handled very quickly and didn't hover around us. Food ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ Poppadoms and pickles - can't really mess that up but serving shards in a basket made it much easier to share Tikka masala (chicken) - was a touch too spicy for a tikka masala, but they should rename it and serve me double portions as I bloody loved it! Chicken Biryani - it came with a bread hat across the top. And I take my hat off to this meal, awesome flavours and the veg curry accompaniment complimented perfectly. Starters - onion pakora and veg samosa were both examples of how create magic without being greasy, they were clearly fried but unlike many other places these were served without a coat of oil. The spice levels were just right. Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Celebrating their anniversary they had 50% off the food, so our 3 course meal cost us around £12-£15 per person. I can honestly say at full price this is still a steal! So much better than some places charging a substantial amount more. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(⭐️) I had to really ponder if this was 4.5 or 5 stars, I settled on 4.5 because the restaurant wasn't very busy so it lacked some atmosphere and the location isn't amazingly convenient to drive to (but it certainly isn't hard either). This is very nit picky and I guess the big question is would I put it at the top of my Banbury Curry list.... I think I do! The food was just very very good!

The Best Indian food in Banbury. Authentic Indian Dishes and lovely Staff looking after you. Specifically South Indian Food they have the best chef and the Presentation is Nice. Michelin quality and presentation but not Michelin prices. Exceptional both times we visited during one week. Flavour of chicken tikka starter was exquisite. We tried different dishes on each occasion: king prawns; lamb shank; aubergine; Street food chicken; vegetable side dish and okra were so tasty. As was the fig naan. This will be our regular for Indian cuisine.

I have as only on Banbury for the night so googled nearest Indian , luckily found this Gem Food service was superb Chicken so tender, it was refreshing to read a menu that does not have the same old same old dishes on it Highly recommend Well done all involved 👍
