First time here, will definitely come again. Food is delicious, decent quality at reasonable price. Service extremely good. Miss their Hong Kong style milk tea. No complaints.

Stopped here for lunch and was left full and happy. The staff were lovely and the food came quick. The portion sizes are big which makes the fair prices make the food taste even better!

I go once a week nowadays, minimum so I blame here for my extra few inches on my waist. Food wise, best value at the moment with the all the new HK style cafe around Manchester. Although limited in range but I'm 專一/悶 so it's ok!lol The ladies serving there are always friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the 牛肚牛腩湯米。

After not eating enough for half a day, my stomach started to feel uncomfortable, so I ordered frozen lemon tea and beef with eggplant for dinner. I don’t know if the problem is caused by drinks or food. I hope the store can improve food hygiene.

Update : It's been a while after I've moved and really missed their Beef brisket noodles! It is still so yummy! Staffs are very friendly and service is excellent as usual! New Hong Kong cha-chang-teng available in Manchester, good place to go if you crave for deep fried porkchop ramen, fried chicken japanese style with rice, Hong Kong style beef brisket with egg noodles, or just a milk tea. Beef brisket with egg noodles is oustanding but would be even better if red vinegar is available for enhancing the flavour!

Stand out flavours. Delicious. Lovely service too. Very popular place especially with Hong Kong expatriates. Order at the counter, take a seat and wait. PS: Only disappointment was so much of the menu is not available.

Tasted great the first time, when they took over after “a nice sip” tea house. The beef tendon noodles were authentic back then. not long after they seemed to have another change of staff and noodles went downhill since, very chewy beef. Staff and male boss were friendly as always, but I had a feeling no one is really in charge of kitchen QC now, hence the quality is somewhat amateur (made by people who doesn’t cook often) and the boss is too frail to manage the situation, plus there’s always unrelated “helpful” people hovering around, minding someone else’s business and having too much opinion (but no cooking skills). Mismanagement was probably the reason why the good cooks left. It is still a gem to have Hong Kong comfort food if you live near the neighborhood. Hopefully the boss can push out those who don’t belong to the kitchen, re-hire a real chef and get back to what they tasted like two years ago.

Hong Kong Family Style Restaurant Not many styles but enough. A friend and I ate beef rice and stir-fried chicken. Doesn’t taste like an ordinary fast food restaurant But after a while, homemade becomes delicate The happiest thing is that you can have food and drink for an extra £1 But lemon tea requires two more slices of lemon😆

First time we went there last summer the food was excellent - authentic Hong Kong cha chaan teng food that is hard to come by in England, and undoubtedly lived up to the high praise in the Guardian. However, we came back recently only to find that everything had gone downhill. We craved for the french toast and faux shark's fin soup but were told we were too early. When we asked what time would these dishes be available for ordering, we were told bluntly that we wouldn't be able to wait for them anyway. But these dishes were prominently advertised at the till, together with two other dishes, one of which was also unavailable. We couldn't help but wonder they just didn't bother to make these dishes that are perhaps more troublesome to make but appealing to people with Hong Kong background. The food that we had to settle with was mediocre to say the least, like anything you can pick up in a run-of-the-mill Chinese takeaway around the corner. I feel hugely disappointed and a bit embarrassed for them not living up to the high praise just after a few months.

Finally managed to find a seat passing by as it's normally packed and there are no seats available. Asked for the best soup they have and they recommended me a beef noodle soup. It looked great on paper - beef tenderloin, tripe and stock beef. Unfortunately it was the worst soup I've ever had. Broth was tasteless, tasted like there were no spices and not salty enough. No condiments on table to add either. It stank like poorly cleaned tripe and that was an overwhelming aroma, I'm a tripe lover and know how it should taste. The chunkier pieces of beef with pieces on fat were glistening like spilt petrol, never seen anything like that. Except for meat, there were only instant ramen like noodles, 3 pieces of spinach/other leafy green and one sliced potato. Mandatory 10% service charge so be aware. Nobody else in the restaurant had a soup on their table, it was probably a mistake to order it in the first place, but went for recommendation... Can't comment on other menu items but what I had was terrible and probably stale so won't be back.

Read good things in the guardian, and wasn’t disappointed - delicious meal. I had the sweet & sour pork & my girlfriend had the wok fried mix veg. Empty plates from the both of us. Very tasty, amazing value, & really wholesome atmosphere. Absolutely will be coming again!!

A Chinese restaurant in Manchester, operated in the style of Hong Kong cafe. While it served limited varieties of Hong Kong style Chinese food, there were sufficient items to choose. The best dish would be the beef brisket rice noodles in soup, it tasted almost the same as that served in most noodle shops in Hong Kong. Other dishes were of good quality. Prices were slightly high comparing to other Chinese restaurants, but worth a try.

Been here a few times, it's a small place so take a seat then order and pay at the counter. Highly recommend the beef brisket curry, a few of us have tried it and said the same. The curry sauce is yummy! Today I tried the specials menu which was salt and pepper pork with chips (option to choice rice) and curry sauce, it was enjoyable 😊, but more curry sauce please! Also, when you order a menu, drinks are £1!

Had the worst experience ever. Firstly we ordered 2 rice dish and a soup, my friend’s rice came after around 20ish minutes wait but then my rice waited around 40mins which is ridiculous. The big family group who ordered after us got their food and finished before my rice and soup arrived. Asked them why and they said my rice takes longer to make 😅. My rice finally came but after several bits I found a barcode sticker in my food!!! They didn’t really apologised for it but made me a new one within 5-10 minutes (took them so quick to make a new one compared to the first time) so I don’t understand why I had to wait 40 minutes the first time. The soup DOES NOT TASTE LIKE WHAT IT SUPPOSE TO BE, it tasted like soap for some reason and no vinegar either. As my friend already finished his rice before my food arrived, he added some more dishes to eat. We ordered a rice with chicken dish and asked for no rice as only wanted the chicken. The dish was soaked in oil 🤮🤮 (you can literally see it in the photo we took). The salt and pepper chips were tasteless too (suppose to have salt and pepper at least). It was overall the worst experience ever at a Chinese restaurant. Yes I understand you are busy but please sort out the order and timing that dishes arrives to customers. 😵‍💫 Never coming back again and will tell friends not to too!!

Wanted to like very much but had a worse experience second time than first. Some dishes are very nice and big but there's few vegetarian dishes, which is a bit of a shame. Was initially overcharged for a simple vegetable dish and rice was separate for an extra £3.50 which seems a lot, though I was then given it for free, maybe due to the overcharging. The vegetable dish was fine and plenty if unexciting. Crispy bun dessert was very disappointing, it's basically a toasted barmcake with a bit of butter and condensed milk on it, and to me the butter tasted slightly soup or off, but maybe it's the intentional taste I'm not an expert. The aubergine and meat dishes are a lot better I believe, so still 4 stars to give the benefit of the doubt, but staff could be more welcoming to people new to the cuisine maybe. The Hong Kong style tea is delicious & highly recommended.

Small spot in the middle of nowhere so took me by surprise how busy it was, but once I had the food I knew what the fuss was all about, 10 out of 10, service was lovely, food came quick too, will be back to try the rest of the menu as it was too hard to choose

Beef brisket and tendon was amazing

Today, I went to the restaurant to grab some lunch to-go, but the experience was extremely chaotic. After waiting for 40 minutes, exhaustion set in, so I chose to find a seat and take a short break. Surprisingly, within just 5 minutes, the host abruptly instructed me to wait outside. It felt as though I was being scolded as if I had committed a crime in their restaurant. This disrespectful behavior warrants a rating of zero stars, and I have no intention of returning in the future.

As a local from Hong Kong, I can dare say the food here reminds me of those you can find in Hong Kong Diners, aka Cha Chan Teng. The beef brisket curry as well as the sweet and sour pork are not only authentic, but also amongst the best HK style dishes I've tried so far. The curry is very aromatic and mildly spicy with super soft tender meat/tendon. Seasoning of the sweet and sour is on point, having a good balance of both. With just adding a quid, you'll get a drink too! Definitely don't miss out the classic HK style iced milk tea (Dong Nai Cha) or iced lemon tea (Dong Ling Cha) for a more comprehensive taste of the cuisine. Highly recommend if you want a taste of Hong Kong Style food!

Had the curry with roast chicken. Chicken has beautifully crisp skin and was a juicy thigh cut. Curry had a kick to it, all around great food and authentic HK feel.

This is a classic and small Hong Kong style diner. It was very busy on an Easter Monday evening. Their goto dish is a bowl of soupy braised beef noodles with tendons and tripe. Anything else on the menu could be crossed off due to running out of supplies. They had hand written Chinese signs with daily specials stuck around the tiny store - you need to check what's available. Get past these cultural peculiarities and you get great tasting food with huge belly filling portions and very reasonable prices. Really surprisingly great Hongkongese food! Love the great variety and equally delicious yet consistent dishes, Beef tendon, beef brisket and beef tripe with vermicelli in soup, (Curry) Beef brisket and beef tendon with rice, Grilled Aubergine with Beef ( Rice Bowl ), French Toast (Peanut butter filling, butter & syrup and condensed milk on top). Along with the fantastic drinks, iced lemon tea, hot milk tea, hot lemon tea, are all excellent to be served, resemble the close memories we've shared regarding to Hong Kong style daily cuisine, which is to be frankly speaking, rarely to be found in the UK, exceed my expectations before my arrival and go way beyond the ceilings. The staff are very friendly and nice, much appreciated their help and attitude, acknowledged us the table shall be ready in a short while later. In addition, we had a good time chatting with the women in charge of the store, as she's a very sincere and genuine person, she let us know we do not have to rush to leave the restaurant, we can stay as long as we wish, just make sure we don't have other plans to order foods and drinks as they are closing the kitchen. Exchanging interesting life stories and unforgettable experiences we had in the UK and Hong Kong, connects us in terms of the sense of identity as HongKonger and entering a whole new country: UK. The Sakura restaurant is definitely scoring 10/10, perfect taste of quality food from Hong Kong and everything else is on point. Fabulous 👌 !!!!!!

Totally Hong Kong style restaurant, Cha chan tang

Tried their rice noodles and beef curry. The portions are definitely big and has affordable prices. However the flavours are lacking a but in my opinion, the curry could be much more spicy and the beef inside tasted a bit bland. The rice noodles should be numbing and spicy but couldn’t taste them at all. The owner is very friendly but their staffs ignores me when I was trying to order. Will try other food people recommend on google next time

The first time a friend took me to this restaurant, it was probably around 5:00 on a free day. There were not many customers, and the people in the store were polite and polite. But I came back again during the busy Saturday lunch time. Since my friend came from the second county, I took him to this store to taste it. However, the service I felt this time was very different from the first time I came. Maybe it was the customer. There are many but not enough manpower. The attitude of the store lady is a bit strange (because I wanted to share the food, I asked the bowl boy, and the attitude of the reply was a bit strange). Anyway, their beef brisket and tripe rice is indeed delicious, but I won’t go there again.

Awesome, the portion is big and worth the price. Can’t fault with it if you like Cantonese food. Not sure why there’re complaints talking about their service but overall I got a nice and happy meal with my family. Hope they can keep the quality

First of all, we would like to commend the food at this restaurant. Every dish we tried was delicious and memorable. In particular, the Hong Kong-style fried rice and the fried fish were rich in flavor and unforgettable. Second, the prices were reasonable and affordable, allowing us to enjoy delicious food without breaking the bank. Finally, the service was attentive and the staff were warm and welcoming. They were patient in answering our questions and their service left a deep impression on us, making us want to visit the restaurant again. In conclusion, we have great respect and appreciation for Sakura House (Hong Kong-style restaurant). We will visit again and recommend this restaurant to our friends.

visited Numerous occasions when in the vicinity and every time it been delicious. The pork chop freshly fried and super crunchy, only a thought just my preference perhaps to beat the pork chop down so it flatter. So It gives illusion there more :) cause it so yummy! Portions are good size and a great variety of choices of items on menu to choose from Service always friendly and polite never had a bad experience. Food wait time very short imagine slightly longer when busy obviously. Give it a try and you be retuning in no time!!!

The food in the restaurant is delicious and the service attitude of the staff is excellent. The western toast has two layers of peanut butter, and the coffee brisket rice is full of hometown flavor, highly recommended.

I'm impressed by their menu, nothing like the usual Cantonese restaurants in Manchester. We ordered chicken udon, beef brisket and tendon rice noodle, hot lemon water with honey and iced milk tea. All of them were very tasty. The food portion was generous. You can get a main with a drink around £10, very good value. Staff were polite and friendly. Definitely will come again and try different dishes.

Food is okay, but service is not ideal

The ordering process was very unpleasant and the waiter had a bad attitude. Wei Shiye has lost his appetite. Don’t go, the girl who takes order is very impolite & rude, I lost my appetite before the food is coming.

Don’t expect excellent services. Bad altitude when order. Customers have to queue outside with cold weather with no cure. Never clean the table or guide you to the seat. I have to pick up the previous customer left over to the kitchen. I regret to suggest my family to visit here. Not a very pleasant experience!😞 However, food is quite good at the end. So I give 3star

I don’t know what I did wrong. I remember that Hong Kong people support Hong Kong people. I live nearby. My friend and I went to help for the first time. When one of us walked in, a woman was making such a fuss. I didn’t know what I did wrong. The other The female clerk is so polite, I am so disappointed with this person, and I still won’t help her again. I think if you choose this location, Yijia may have a lot of customers, but in fact, many of them are renting houses and moving out next year. They are bullying customers like this. , I ate a curry rice and shouted while eating it. Halfway through, I was so excited that I couldn’t eat it. I had to shake for a while, and then I forced myself to eat it.

It has the flavor of a food stall. In winter, the hot donburi and ramen are of satisfactory quality and plain decoration. It is Hong Kong style. The price is more affordable than luxury Japanese cuisine, so it is suitable for families to patronize.

This is an unusual HK stylish restaurant. It offers very HK stylish meals which are not common in UK. The restaurant is not big. We’d better go there earlier to avoid rush hour next time.

Excellent! Kids love the fried chicken wings noodle! Beef brisket, tripe and tendons are just right! If paired with rice noodles, it becomes perfect! Children love chicken wing ramen! The service is first-class and the environment is very clean!

The food was authentic and delicious, and the service was attentive. Seeing that our friend hadn't arrived yet, the clerk took the initiative to help cover the food that had arrived. Moreover, the shop staff and customers are all Hong Kong people, and the environment is full of Cantonese, full of laughter, and very friendly👍👍👍.

Fantastic! This is the authentic taste of Hong Kong you can find in town. The teriyaki chicken Don and katsu pork with scramble egg Don are just so good and the must to try. Would recommend to anyone who love Japanese food too!
