Saj in Forest of Dean

Food was very tasty and delivered hot. Slight misunderstanding with the order but very satisfied with the resolution. Very good food and a good service overall.

First time I’ve had a curry from the Saj, very nice, not quite what I was expecting from a Chicken Dansak, it had pineapple in it (that’s a new one on me) and had a thick sauce, without any noticeable ‘vegetable’ type pieces in it, but plenty of nicely cooked chicken pieces. We had a Dansak, a pilau rice, a saag aloo and a peshwari naan, all very nice. A gauge of a good meal is the speed you eat it - it wasn’t around very long. Definitely going back again, but may try a few other dishes to find something with a bit more substance to it. Plenty of lovely flavour, well done.

Me and my partner been here two days in a row and it's been brilliant either time had really good food fast and quick service polite lived round here for 5 years and always gone to saj restaurant. My partner tried it for the first time yesterday and said it was brilliant food isn't greasy or anything. Would go back and would recommend other people go and try it.

Food was delicious.we ordered two Curry's and rice that was absolutely awesome.hopefully we will come again.

Picked up 3 curries and naans after seeing the good reviews here. Very disappointed with the curries— too much sugar, too little spice but the portions were good and the naans excellent. Better off buying a couple of jars of curry sauce and making it yourself.

I’m not usually a fan of takeaway Indian as it’s always disappointing when you get it home but we were going to the Chinese next door last night when we smelled the Indian and went straight in. It was really nice, not greasy at all. Reasonable price for what we had (£27 for 4 popadoms & dips, onion bhajis, veg samosas, 2 main chicken dishes, rice, chips & a chicken tikka naan). Only a 20 minute wait too which was good. The onion bhajis were lacking a bit of flavour but that’s my personal taste, I had the Goan chicken which was supposed to have mango slices in it, but it didn’t, just a dollop of mango chutney. It was still a really tasty dish, just not what it had said on the menu. Husband was happy with his dish. Really nice food, we’ll definitely go here again.

The deliveries have always been quick and the food piping hot and delicious. It's always our choice for a takeaway.

The onion bhajis were even better this time, really light. We all enjoyed our choices which included chicken Korma, lamb madras, sag aloo and dhal. First choice for a takeaway in the Forest!

Ordered and waited for the meal. Very busy takeaway that offers a delivery service. Small waiting area. Very quick service. Appeared to get quicker service while waiting. Good food, tasty and reasonably priced.

We always get our Indian food from here. Consistently lovely food and great value. Only slight frustration is that they often make up the total price of food, for example its £14.30 but they'll say its £15. They also do a 10% off collections but if you don't ask they rarely apply this.

We had a great selection of dishes, all very tasty and good and hot still when we got it home. Very helpful and friendly Owner and staff.

Always a treat! Don't be put off by the size and appearance... Never had a bad takeaway from here and would recommend.

The Achari Chicken and Murg E Azam were both awesome. The Keema Rice (not on the menu but they will do it anyway) is amazing. The nan bread was soft and perfectly cooked. The best Indian in Cinderford and better than any I have had in Gloucester too.

Saj is the only Indian I order from . Freshly cooked food even my fussy 2 year old loves it. Fast delivery which is a bonus as my kids get impatient waiting. I have recently discovered pakora which is a must every time I order now .my list gets longer every time I order . Saj is worth the money and would recommend.

Nie zle dania na wynos. Nie jest to restauracja z prawdziwego zdarzenia ale jest smacznie. W Cinderford jest sporo ofert tego typu ale ta jest jedna z lepszych. Godna polecenia.

Every time we order from here the food is perfectly cooked, arrives earlier than the estimated delivery time and is great value for money. I would recommend this takeaway to anyone who is looking to try Indian cuisine as well as those who already love it. The menu includes numerous chef specialties which are really tasty and perfect for trying new things.

Comida para llevar en primera Saj y sin duda no nos decepcionó. El cordero madras fue el mejor que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo y el pollo a la mantequilla era igual de bueno. Toda la comida era impecable. Me entregaron en el momento que decían y sin cargos. Yo recomendaría este para llevar.

Había comida para llevar un número de veces desde aquí. Se apartó de la zona por un par de años, pero regresó el lunes y pensé que me apetece un indio de la Saj. Todavía es uno de los mejores curris que he probado jamás. Fantástico, mucho sabor y muchos platos únicos para probar.

We ordered a takeaway Thursday night and I have to say this was the best by far from Saj Takeaway . The meat was tender and the flavours were lush. No grease at all . Thank u Ali n Team we will be ordering again...

Lovely Indian but be prepared for how spicy it is, get a glass of milk ready!! Read that the jalfrezi was the best and I can agree it was one tasty jalfrezi.

Just love their Korma and Tikka. Really nice sauce. Always polite, usually recognise the voice when I ring and they talk to you by name. Give them a go!

This is the first time I have reviewed a business on Trip Advisor but I felt compelled to after receiving such a great service this evening. The food was excellent, not too greasy the way so many Indian takeaways can be. The delivery was so quick I barely had to time to get the money together and they were so kind to speak to. Food was OK plenty of it but greasy biggest problem was the free delivery says if you spend over £20 it's free it is not the delivery driver asked for £2 when I asked why he just said it's the delivery charge !!!!!!!

Since our favourite curry takeaway in Gloucester (balti park diner) closed, we had been looking for a replacement. Living in Mitcheldean, we tried most of the local places before coming across the Saj. The food is fantastic, the service is friendly what more do you want from a takeaway! They even accommodated my odd request at Christmas to cook my Christmas lunch for pick-up the day before!

Really great friendly service and the food is superb. Generous portions and not too expensive! Definitely recommend.

Can't say it was 'hot' in the title as it might sound like spicy. Spiciness was just right for the curry we had.

Whenever me and my mum decide on a takeaway when I'm home our first choice is always a takeaway from the Saj indian. The food is always freshly cooked and tastes absolutely delicious.The fact that the staff are always really friendly too is a lovely bonus. Great food with good portions and free delivery, we order often and have never had a bad meal. My husband has lamb and it's always tender and good quality. I have ordered lots of different dishes and they are all very tasty, would not think of ordering from anywhere else

The Saj is by far the best Indian food myself and my husband have ever tried! I always look forward to ordering all staff are very pleasant and deliveries are always on time often include free side dishes! Me and my wife to be always go to the saj and we never had any bad experience. Excellent chef and service. They have reverb the shop and it looks really nice and cosy.

this is our favourite meal. we have it with pilau rice and a naan bread and poppadoms. very nice. also very reasonable. very friendly staff and go there most weeks. i do have a korma occasionally which is also lovely.

I don't like to slate restaurants without a fair trial. I tried the Saj a few times, admittedly some time ago. I found the food to be swimming in oil and lacking in flavour. However, I will try it again soon to see if it's improved.

I've visited many times and the food has been consistently fantastic. I recommend the chicken Tonka Balti with lemon rice, but there us so much more to choose from as well and I haven't tried everything yet. The delivery service is prompt and efficient too.

Food always cooked thoroughly, even my children eat all their food from here. Hoping to order from here next time we have a party.

We use this takeaway often as it's close to home and the food is consistently good. The owner and staff are all very friendly and we often find little extras in the bag. The vegetable rice that was part of the Veggie Biryani I had recently was really lovely.We'd always recommend the Saj!

Came here last week for a family meal, well run establishment with food being served freshly and in good time! Deliveries are also available for surrounding areas of the Forest, would recommend trying as an alternative takeaway in Cinderford.

Great tasting food, served quickly and hot. Will deliver too. The samosas are particularly good as is Crispy Chilli Beef.

The food is great and the owner and chefs are really friendly. Lots of staff around to deliver locally and quickly if you don't want to pick-it up yourself. There's an extensive choice of meat and vegetarian food. It's good value for money and we often find an extra treat put in as regulars.

We often order a delivered curry from Saj, and every time we have done so the food has been delicious. We were introduced to Saj by our neighbours who get a delivered curry at least once a month for themselves and their 3 small children. Having never physically been to the restaurant we cannot comment on its cleanliness but our food has always been well cooked and we have never had any 'day after' problems!! We would recommend the Saj for takeaways, it is our favourite local curry takeout, in fact we have been so happy with the food that we've never considered trying anywhere else. Oh and the prices are very reasonable and the people who deliver the takeaways have always been really nice.

ordered a takeaway but chicken wasn't cooked so i though food away and never will i go back there again no more second chances. the place looks badly run and dirty and the food aint that great so avoid.
