Sai’s always cook the fish perfectly, always with a crispy batter. The portions are very generous and service is polite and efficient. I highly recommend.

We’ve just had the most awful fish and chips - the worse weve ever had. Tasted like the chips were microwaved and the cod just cooked out the freezer Hygiene disgusting. It had a 1 rating! No gloves or masks - just awful. Amazed it’s allowed to stay open!!

Spoke to a gentleman (Sonny?!) this afternoon to arrange for a prime fillet of cod and “Mushy Peas” to be delivered to my elderly mother this evening. I used the website to order online. I must say Sonny was amazing and went over and above to sort my request out. Spoke to mum this evening (a Fish&Chip connoisseur!) and she was delighted, largest and most delicious f&c she’s had in a very long time!! Many thanks for your help and looking forward to using you in the future.

My partner and I usually eat at Wai Wai's fish and chip shop in Wokingham as it is honestly outstanding, but as they were closed (as a one off) today we thought we'd try Sai's. Wow, I wish we never had. I am usually someone never to write reviews but felt like this was super needed. My partner and I ordered cod and chips, savaloy and chicken shish. We were told the wait would be 10 minutes, which we were happy to wait for - thats usual. But then expected the food to be hot and fresh. Instead I was served later the fish that had been sat in under the heater (who knows if it was cod) and when I got it home it was soggy on the bottom and very crunchy on the top, very greasy fish inside and cold. My partners meal on the other hand was disgusting and we even spoke to the staff about it inside. The savaloy was microwaved, and the checkout staff member (no masks or gloves) was the one touching it repeatedly to check if it was hot before bagging it up for my partner. The chicken shish was also microwaved. The pita bread which you would expect to be grilled or toasted was microwaved. Then chunks of chicken were added to an empty ice cream container - yes you read right, an old ice cream container and then microwaved. My partner asked for no tomatoes also in the salad and again these were included. We then called the staff out at the fact the pita bread, savaloy and chicken had all been microwaved - which in my opinion is not the reason why you go for a saturday night treat. I can microwave anything myself at home, but chicken and pita which you expect to be freshly cooked / toasted were gross. The staffs reaction was 'everyone cooks chicken in different ways'... Not good enough. No refund when complained or discount offered. Finally, Google advertises as this restaurant as mask wearing staff & hygienic. No masks worn by staff insight and instead there were numerous (5) 'random' people walking in and out of the kitchen on phones, chatting and just looking like they were having a jolly. I wouldn't say these are normal hygenic kitchen standards. Overall, food was cold, greasy, chicken super dry and overall gross. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Also, this fish and chip shops is more expensive than others in the area for awful quality.

Greasy and expensive. The fish had a lot of bones in and the batter managed to be greasy and dry at the same time. Fortunately there are at least two far better and more established options near-by.
