Great place to meet people, lovely pub

Busy little traditional pub with live music nights and local punters. It's a beer and a packet of crisps or nuts type of place. A proper old Bath boozer with friendly owners. Welcome for all and sundry and their dogs.

Old style Cosy friendly pub with a good mixture of clientele Professionals/ Bohemian/ Builders . A function room upstairs and a music venue in the cellar. Bar snacks only.

Within the vaults, the decor is dark, chairs are uncomfortable and as such the music felt oppressive. Having said that, the vaults feel like a hidden gem, so, give it a go!

Lovely pub - off the beaten track but worth a visit. Great real ale selection, comfortable seating and nice staff. Place has many floors with vaults so plenty of room!

Last time I had a pint was at least 20 years ago. It was great then and not a lot has changed.

Great pub, good beer & atmosphere

I came in with an array of fluorescent wines glistening in my raybans they are the cost about £120 #clarified. Obviously money wasn’t a issue so I bought the entire pub a glass of Rothschild red cost about £1500 #clarified

A proper local pub with a great, unpretentious atmosphere, friendly service and good beer. I come here every time I'm in Bath and it never seems to change - which I think is a wonderful thing. Long live the SJWV!

Proper local boozer - good beer & interesting gig space downstairs...a very elclectic venue....very compact but that just adds to the atmos man.

Damned good all round > friendly and helpfull Staff / good variety of friendly customers for fun and interesting conversations / an all round great selection of beer, lager, bottled beers, wines spirits and soft drinks / generous help for locality / rooms for music, art / private events.

A great friendly proper traditional English pub. Really enjoy their charity Quiz Nights.

A pub with a deceptive amount of space and friendly staff. There's a pool table and a cosy amount of seating on the ground floor with tables and chairs on the streets for enjoying the hot weather. I enjoy the 7pm Monday night improvisation classes in the upstairs room. They're a friendly, and occasionally racy, bunch who don't mind if you just watch. The first class is free.

Proper pub, Guinness, Pool, Good times

The bar staff could not do enough for us as a hen party looking for somewhere to have a relaxed drink and chat. We had the upstairs room to ourselves, we were invited to put on our own music and we even had a huge pitcher of water brought up. Such fantastic quality of drinks and value for money!

Really nice pub , lovely staff and chilled atmosphere. Difficult for pubs with the covid restrictions but this pub has the right balance, fell safe but not lost it's character . Highly recommend this pub.

Lots of friendly regulars with a love of good music, nice bar staff and regular bands and events happening all year round. It is a very small pub with no garden- just a few chairs out the front of the building. However, the character of the pub, weird and wonderful bands and events make up for the small size.

Brilliant cheap laundrette to do your duvets fantastic deli for a coffee whilst you wait next door.

Very friendly traditional pub. As first time visitors we were really made welcome. This led to a return visit and not only was the welcome as warm they remembered us which is a sign of a great pub.

I held a vintage sale upstairs yesterday in The Gallery room, and I just wanted to say that I had the BEST experience with Mandy and Penny's help in organising it - they were so very welcoming and accommodating despite my many questions! Nothing was too much and I will be forever recommending this as a venue to others for holding special events (and for a nice drink in a friendly environment). Thanks to everyone!

A good place to get drinks and sometimes holds music events underneath the pub so it can get quite loud, a little bit cramped but a nice atmosphere and location.

We live on the other side of Bath and regularly make the effort to come here for a few drinks. Lovely staff and friendly atmosphere.

What is not to like about this lovely boozer? The bar is lively and has a completely diverse customer base. You catch watch great bands/music in the basement and have a takeaway flown in upstairs if you like, where plates & cutlery provided. Free buffet on a Wednesday. You can even pop your washing in at the dolly tub opposite & watch it from the pub! Proper Pub - Great place

Lovely place with great staff. The fact it's very dog friendly is an added bonus.

Very friendly atmosphere. I have been in both of the vault rooms this place has to offer as part of a local poetry gig and both rooms are amazing. The upstairs room offers a more formal setting for events whereas the downstairs room is more relaxed and suits music or poetry events better. This pub has a good variety of drinks on offer and definitely gives the vibe of a pub with an eclectic mix of regulars that definitely get confused when the uni students come inside for poetry gigs

It's not a wine shop, its a pub, and a nice one with an old fashioned square bar, good beer abd pleasant clientele.

Very varied environment that brings in a varied crowd. Ground floor is like a standard pub. Top floor is more like a gastro pub and the basement is where they have bands performing live music (a bit grungy). Thought it was a really cool place. Didn't serve food when I came, but they allow takeouts to be delivered.

Fantastic independent pub; one of the last of its kind in Bath! With friendly staff and customers, it's a real local. Also, its cellar bar is a great venue for music nights of all genres including live music and a monthly reggae night.

Good locals pub with a slightly bohemian ambiance. Recently qualified for the Cask-Marque Ale Trail - youll know the beer is top knotch. Friendly patrons and Holly is a honey. Opens from mid afternoons and no food.
