Sainsbury's Café in Suffolk Coastal

Didn’t enjoy our experience today. Food on the floor, tables needed wiping. We ordered lasagna and fries. The fries came out looking pale and unappealing, I tried one it wasn’t cooked properly. I took them back and asked a young girl if we may have another portion because they weren’t cooked properly, she stuck her finger in the bowl, pulled a face and went into the kitchen without saying a word. A few minutes later the same chips came back out microwaved to an inch of their life, I know they were the same chips because they had salt vinegar and sauce on! Funny that. First and last time I’ll be eating there, not a nice experience

A usually busy café. Only one member of staff. And why they're serving hot drinks out of paper cups for inside consumption I have no idea seeing as they had stacks of China mugs available. Not environmentally friendly Mr Sainsbury.

Bring your own cutlery as theirs is always dirty, the woman who serves the at the counter is always miserable and looks like she wants to be somewhere else, Sainsbury should have higher standards

not even worth one star to be honest. the chap serving the food looked dirty and popped his thub right in my breakfast when delivering it. We ordered 2 all day breakfasts which where both stone cold. We just left without eating any of it total waste of money. Please avoid at all costs !!!!!

Went in for lunch, waited over 30 minutes for food a reasonable number of other people complaining. People on front desk not helpful told they were out of sausages for a kids meal after I ordered a breakfast which contained sausages. They were happy to serve a breakfast without sausages without telling me they had none or to offer alternatives. Cutlery was still dirty, need a good clean. Finally got our lunch and there was a lot of contamination, one of our turkey baguettes had cheese on which was not on menu. The other had a bean left on the side. When food finally arrived, they forgot the kids meal and was told they would get it now - I had to chase it 10 minutes later. Very poor Sainsburys, I hope management improve staff attitude and service given. I will stick to Martlesham Tescos from now on which is a shame.

Should have read the other reviews before going in and ordering. I completely agree with the other comments truly a bad experience no one helped us with the kids meals and the kids lunch bag had to ask for cutlery and they didn’t have half of the menu either .

We were actually thinking a brunch at Sainsbury's would be a good thing but our experience was pretty much as the other bad experiences here. There is something fundamentally wrong with the cafe, and by the look of the reviews it's been like this for a long time. The issues are from the very start, no trays, no coffee, indifferent staff, no serviettes, dirty cutlery, no milk in jug for tea, grubby tables and chairs seem to be missing from lots of tables, very slow service, cold food, order came out wrong (it was only 2 x breakfasts), poor quality and you realise that if you complained that no one cares less. It made us think about Sainsbury's in a different light, but it's certainly not worth visiting and seems a shame these poor reviews have not been addressed by management.

Not sure what her name was but a hunched back/ older (quite big) lady with a hat on that had a face only a mother could love, very rude & made mine and my wife’s experience unpleasant. mediocre food. please train your miserable staff in some basic manners despite the minimum wage. didn’t catch her name, think Jamie

Jane very miserable, staff didn’t crack a smile, deliberately ignoring customers, plasters over piercings, dirty plates and staff complaining about colleagues calling in sick. Will never return again

Good service. Clean and comfortable to enjoy a couple of lattes with family chat. Coffee very nice and no rush to drink it. Definitely can recommend for a friends catch up meeting place.

Very disappointed with the service at the cafe today. Very dirty cups,with previous customers lip Mark's still present, egg dirty knives and folks. Sauces pot was disgusting with sauce all over the sides. Lady that served us didn't even look at us,she was so miserable. The coffee guy was rude and obviously in a bad mood, when asked if we wanted milk in a americano he proceeded to argue that americano comes with milk when in actually fact americano is a long black coffee,no milk at all. Dirty tables also. Such a shame because the food,for a change was really nice. This is the 3rd time we have tried it here recently to see if it has improved and I believe they are so short staffed the current staff cannot do there job correctly due to staff shortages but no excuse as to have dirty cuos and utensils.

Having had an appalling experience at this café recently, the manager agreed to address the problems and kindly gave us a voucher for our lunch, to come back and give them another chance. Today... we did. This time the staff were polite, rather than rude and arguementive but unfortunately the food was a disaster again. We asked specifically for the chips to come out WITH the panini. This time the chips came and they forgot the panini completely until we went to remind them. The condiment bowl was dirty and when we removed the sauces to see if there was dirt in the bottom, it was disgusting! Fair enough this meal was complimentary but we will not be going back, they obviously didn't act on our issue with panini and chips coming together, and the cleanliness is unacceptable.

Used to be good but going downhill. Service slow, tables full of dirty plates, dirty plates near the cake area, no trays available. This wasn't even at a busy time.

I go for breakfast most mornings and its always good, with great coffee and friendly staff

One lady doing everything out front at lunchtime poor woman! Food eventually came out. We ordered sausage Baguette and got Bacon instead. Cardboard Baguette, cold bacon, warm chips. Huge queue, No happy customers in sight. Its going down hill fast unfortunately

Bought a bacon baguette, the thing literally only is a baguette with some bacon in, it looks dry as hell so I ask for some butter, they tell me that they don't butter their bread and if I want butter I should pay for it, seriously?
