Sainsbury's Café in North Devon

Just remember to clear up after yourself. Grab a tray at the start, take it with you, once you're done then put your dirty plates on the tray and put it in the rack on your way out. Simple, right? Staff work hard, this isn't a Costa or an independent cafe. Seems like they're always one short.

I had the bitesize veggie breakfast, everything was lovely and hot and fresh, customer service from the lady at the counter was great! Spotlessly clean and lovely background music. Thank you

Dreadful... fish was OK.. ish, chips & peas looked & tasted like they'd been in a warmer for hrs. Some would say what dyu expect for 6.50....Well... edible food....

Quite taken aback by how lovely our meal was this afternoon. We ordered veggie breakfasts & a veggie Christmas roast and both were cooked to perfection, with good quality ingredients. Complements to today's chef/s! Expectations were well exceeded 😊

No queue when me and my daughter turned up, and 10 people tops seated. I waited 45 mins for a breakfast and toast. Not even a sorry for the wait. Everyone time I go there it seems like it’s 1 serving , 1 cooking. Tight company the worst

We visited this cafe yesterday for breakfast and had to wait 46 minutes for our meal , we were not told there would be a delay but heard it from another customer . I had heard they are making a new series of Fawlty Towers but did not realize it was based in a cafe .We last went to this cafe over 2 years ago and had exactly the same experience . Shambolic does not even begin to describe it . Today I went to a well known public house chain and was served a better breakfast in under 4 minutes . We won't be going back to Sainsbury's anytime soon .

Shocking .. couldn't order a vegetarian breakfast or even lower the price on the till to have it without an item they didn't even have. Was asked to order it all separately and it worked out more expensive??! Slow service.... Very quiet and I can see why.

Used to be great portions and value but really gone downhill...kids meal consisted of 2 burnt fish fingers and a spoon of cold rubbery instant mashed potato...really bad quality and really bad value for money. Ok for a quick coffee would not recommend eating there.

Ordered fish finger sandwich,no butter on bread,a few salad leaves and 3 cheap tastless fish fingers 2 in one half and one in the other,you would have thought they could have at least put two in each half.

So slow service even for a coffee food rubbish fish &chips pie and chips 45 minutes wait !! Really can't even give it a mark as you can gess I will not be eating here anymore

Decent value and good food. Typical supermarket cafe but clean, nice atmosphere and plenty of space.

Will not be going back. Dirty tables, messy floors, shoddy staff. Waited an hour and food still not cooked. Had a refund and got served at tesco cafe straight away

Big mistake eating here. Food was bland, tables remained uncleared. Maybe we are supposed to clear and clean tables left by previous diners!!!!

Food was ok, but we had to wait 45 minutes for 2 all day breakfasts? And no pepper apparently in a supermarket 😆🤔. I had drunk all my tea by the time my food arrived and was getting uncomfortable. Poor. Looked understaffed.

Sainsburys don't have many coffee's now with full breakfast. 10/10 this one 🌈

Always had good experiences here in the past, popped in today. Restaurant hardly busy still half hour wait for food. My husband ordered ham, egg and chips. Ham two slices of sandwich ham, minute portion of chips. My jacket potato with tuna hardly any better. Filling hardly enough to fill potato. Food was tasty, but come on Sainsburys!!!

Arrived early after dropping my wife at the coach station. Staff very friendly food great. If you are on your own this can mean a lot

Really slow service today. It wasn't particularly busy but from ordering my food it took nearly half an hour to be brought to my table, disappointing, not sure if I'll go back again.

I invariably find the staff welcoming, polite and engaging. The food and drink are good but the cafe is plain, lacks character and doesn't feel particularly cozy but that it what one normally expects from a supermarket chain. It's a shame that Sainsburys couldn't be a little more adventurous with the decor.

The food is standard, the staff are friendly, chatty and helpful.

A clean, welcoming friendly space. We stopped here a few days ago, so I could breastfeed and give my 4 year old some lunch. Pleasant experience all round, the staff are friendly and talkative and the space itself, including seating etc is clean and comfy. The food & drink was lovely, filled a gap and reasonable too.

Not the best Xmas lunch I have ever had

My partner bought us two turkey dinners and the food was microwaved and didn't taste anything like a fresh cooked meal and the chips were disgusting and the good thing that was nice was the coffee and in all was not impressed considering it nearly cost me £20 not worth the money at all

Disappointed by the meal, dry microwaved cottage pie.Not heated enough no steam rising, peas not any better. Will never buy a so called fresh meal.

Very basic and you'll be lucky to get a saucer but is cheap. Coffee is mediocre to poor and the food is basic

Great service, the staff are always friendly its a littler noisier now they've done the upgrade as I think in busy times there is simply more chairs - more - hence more noise. Coffee is good, and they feature a number of GF options

friendly and clean enough but soup is horrid thick paste must be a powder mix have had pea and mint some months ago and some thai concoction today both barely edible hope this will be improved apon after this review.
