LOVE the roast meats here. We always get the three roast meal with rice, choosing the crispy pork belly, crispy duck and char siu pork. It never disappoints and the flavour is always there. I recommend this place to everyone who want a authentic Chinese meal. The food comes really quickly too and there is air conditioning!

Perfect Cantonese Roast Meats, the bottom floor cafe is all you want if you're looking for easy comforting quick food. Service was easy, ordering at the till and given a number buzzer to collect your food from the kitchen. A good selection of classic and authentic dishes.

I’ve only been to Sai Kung Cafe once and had a decent dining experience. Shop is self service, you order on the till and pay, they give you little device to know when your order is ready then you need to collect from the counter. They don’t have a big seating area, there are only four lines of tables where you share with other customers, even though it said on the sign they have more seats upstairs (?). When I went upstairs to take a seat there were couple people on the area, not sure if they work in there, they told me that it’s only the seats downstairs. They have a little shop up there which had various vegetables, frozen seafood and some delicious looking desserts. I ordered 2 Roast with Rice (chicken and duck) my friend also had the same(char siu and pork belly) and salted-black pepper ribs as a side. I am not a huge fan of pork and hardly ever have any but unfortunately I enjoyed pork dishes more than I enjoyed the duck and chicken. Chicken and duck was cut with the bones and gave me hard time to eat with rice, it might be easier if you are used to eating it like that but definitely not for me, and couldn’t really enjoy my food. They both tasted alright was more like boiled than a roast. I was disappointed with my order until I tried the side with my friend’s suggestion and I can say it was the best pork dish I’ve ever had. It was extra crunchy and had an amazing flavour, something I would have as a main dish and go there just to have it again. Service was good overall, not much of a waiting time and affordable prices with a nice portion.

Authentic roast meat rice 烧肉饭 with delicious sauce over the rice. Crispy skin and fatty meat are the best combo! Kinda sad that I had to pay £0.50 for chilli sauce.

Delicious authentic SE Asian hawker food. I recommend the hainanese chicken rice and the wonton noodle soup (the broth is rich and peppery). You can also get freshly made bubble tea, with fruit and milk tea options. The food was made fresh to order and didn’t take long to come out.

I don’t live in the area but when I’m in town I like to pop into the Sai Kung Cafe. The food is hot, very tasty and authentic and highly recommended if this is your thing… Other reviews have berated the service but it labels itself a ‘street food’ and if you are used to that in Asia you know what service to expect. It’s efficient and serves a steady stream of casual patrons very effectively. Reset expectations of service and focus on the food and you won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely disappointed. Whilst at counter to order was told they had stopped serving dim sum from 24th! We specifically went for dim sum! Counter staff had no sense of hospitality service. She just told me the other shop up the road served dim sum but didn’t say that it closed till the 7th!

During leisure time, my friends and I passed by this restaurant. In my experience, the ratings of Cantonese tea restaurants often exhibit extreme polarization, with some establishments offering pre-made dishes and poor service. While this particular restaurant may be somewhat lacking in service and pricing, the food is quite good. I visited twice recently and ordered roast duck, a three-item combo rice dish, and Hainanese chicken rice. The roast duck is fresh, tender, and juicy, with thin and crispy skin. The meat is fresh, and the fat is flavorful. However, the Hainanese chicken rice falls somewhere around the average mark. Although the service attitude and prices may leave something to be desired, the food quality compensates for it. The prices are slightly higher compared to other restaurants, but it's worth visiting multiple times.

The pictures and the space looks amazing but it is a rip-off for the quality of the food. I order two soups and both tasted like soapy and chemical aftertaste. They don’t know how to read or writte (I don’t know which of the two) but the orders were wrong. Disapointing. We were not the only unhappy customers, the table next to us was not happy either. Apparently, Little Shanghai (upstairs) is better but I haven’t tried it because is only cash. The place seems very original, almost like going to Asia but not quite. Toilets are upstairs, only 1 for males, 1 for females and 1 for disabled. The restaurant upstairs and downstair has more than 50 persons capacity.

Best roast pork belly and duck! Such crispy skin on the pork and very flavourful roasted duck. I live in Wales, but Sai Kung cafe is a must visit for food when visiting Bristol! Can customise noodle dishes too, which my friends enjoyed. P.S. it is cash only.

During a recent dining adventure in Bristol, we stumbled upon Sai Kung Cafe. As someone with a special connection to the town of Sai Kung—it's where my parents hail from—finding a restaurant that specialises in traditional Cantonese cuisine felt like a slice of home. The portion sizes were impressively generous, but it was the impeccable taste that truly stood out. If you're in Bristol and yearning for authentic, delectable Cantonese food that offers great bang for your buck, Sai Kung Cafe should be your go-to destination. The restaurant delivers an all-around culinary journey that is deeply satisfying—especially for someone like me, for whom Sai Kung holds a special place in the heart.

Food tastes just okay and services are really poor. I ordered a “3 roasts with rice” and since I hardly finished one third of it so I asked for a box to pack it home. They then asked to charge me 30p for a container. Unfortunately, the restaurant has that “minimum £5 for card payment” policy whilst I have no cash with me. I asked for a favour if they can find a way to help me, instead of nicely apologise the staff responded in a very impatient manner and didn’t offer any assistance. I just couldn’t get over the mentality of how they treat the customers. I felt paying £13.50 to get humiliation in the restaurant and will never step into this place again or recommend anyone to eat there !

as authentic as it comes in bristol! 10 pounds char siu rice, would like if it came with vegetables but a huge portion and it came with rice and gravy. char siu is sweet and savoury with the pork flavour. the sauces with the hainanese chicken rice (chilli and ginger) wasn’t that good though

Our favourite dim sum restaurant in Bristol! Authentic Cantonese food, the staff are all super friendly and welcoming. We always feel at home when we visit with our kids. Highly recommend the garlic scallops, very fresh and delicious!! The siu mai with black truffle is heavenly. And the fish congee is always a dish that we order! They serve bubble tea downstairs too, that you are allowed to bring upstairs to your table. It is cash only, but most dim sum restaurants in Bristol are 😊

As a visiting tourist missing home town food - the food here hits the spot. We ordered duck rice and pork belly rice - it costs 11.5 pounds which is considered very expensive back home. It was also very tasty, and juicy. (London duck - no match). The portion is huge, and the duck rice was awesome and I would say the uncle is really great chef! The pork belly portion was big. It is fatty (not suggested for the health conscious, I wish it was more roasted - but still awesome!) They sell bubble tea and laksa too!

We just went to Sai Kung Cafe for a takeaway for 2. We ordered the Poached chicken rice and the Duck Ho Fun (noodle soup). The chicken with rice was very delicious with the sauce and garlic&ginger. The Duck Ho Fun noodle soup was delicious as well, however, the little bit of duck they gave us was almost only fat... so didn't eat much of the duck. Also, only 2 tiny pieces of Bok Choi vegetable in the soup.. I wonder if they also serve this tiny portion in the restaurant as well? The food was sooo tasty... but not very sure to come back quickly again as it is quite expensive for a small amount you get.
