Sage & Chili Restaurant in St Giles Hotel 30 April. We ate Fish & Chips which were absolutely excellent. What gives the restaurant full marks is the waiter Anand Ravald. Really someone who has figured it out with good service and attention in a positive way. He made our simple meal the best that day with his demeanor. We would very much like to return and can recommend the restaurant with reasonable prices and good food.

Well if you want to be blinded by a Tina light sign you okay. The only table was by the windows which was freezing. No air con on but the cold air from the windows was bad. I ordered the four deep fried Camembert for starters. It was okay nothing to right home about. McDonald’s deep fried cheese is better. Then I ordered the lasagna and chips. Well the chips were like they been reheated. The garlic bread was crispy but the butter wasn’t very good. The lasagna was like a cheap version from a pub that is just heated up. Dinner ha put me off so much I will not be going back for breakfast.

Went for the pre-theatre menu. I had bruschetta for my starter. It was overloaded with garlic. My mum and sister both had the camembert, definitely from Iceland. My main was lasagne, so salty I could barely eat it but the side salad was nice. For dessert, this was a chocolate mousse triangle, which I've had from Iceland. Was nice but ridiculous that a restaurant in a hotel is serving this. Ordered a bottle of prosecco and the bottle that was brought out was a screw top from Lidl which is about £5, I asked for another but they didn't have another kind so they brought us a pinot grigio which again was from Lidl. Service was great, waitress was lovely.

Food was basic but my pasta was tasty. Chef was great and made my daughter sausage & chips as they dont have a kids menu. Tried to call ahead but noone answered phone, i assumed they were busy and headed to restaurant to find it empty. In & out in half hour, not another soul came in, no atmosphere at all. Its a shame. Also got informed at the end that they no longer offer the 2 for 1 on tastecard regardless of it still being advertised.

Veldig god service og god mat. Spiste t-bone som var perfekt etter mitt ønske. Kommer tilbake med resten av familien🙂

Vi bodde på hotellet (St. Giles) og valgte å prøve restauranten. Det ble middag to dager på rad der, anbefales! Spiste lasagne en dag og t-bone steak den andre, nydelig! Vin og aperol spirits, ble også kjøpt, perfekt! Veldig hyggelig servitør, og kokk! Vi kommer garantert tilbake ved neste besøk i London.❤️

This restraunt has kitchen nightmares all over it. Issue one you cannot find this reastraunt from the street it's hidden in a hotel with no signage what so ever. Next issue we sit down its quite dark there is drowsey classical music and absolutely no one is in there (some may like this but I prefer a bit of an atmosphere). We order drinks and our meals from a limited menu. The  starters weren't the best but nothing wrong just nothing to get excited about. Main meals we had a steak with peppercorn sauce (plus a side of chips for £4) and  fish and chips. To start the steak had not been rested so there was a pool of blood on the plate, the steak had also been sliced open to check how it was cooked (you do not expect this from a reastraunt) the chips were clearly frozen chips with nothing interesting and there was no seasoning. Also the peppercorn sauce came out late and was not peppercorn sauce it was a peppery gravey. Now to the fish and chips, the fish looked nothing like what images were online (we saw images by booking on the fork) and was clearly a frozen cod and the chips were of course frozen. The whole meal put together was a real downer and a let down of the rest of our day. We couldn't wait to get out of there. I think for a 2 course meal we were only in their 40 mins. Yes the waitress was nice, polite and took some money off as she knew we weren't happy but even so I would not reccomend this reastraunt to any one. I have had better meals form supermarket cafes. If you were to pay full price this meal would have cost over £50.

A group of us went here in July 2021 for dinner. Although staff were great Im extremely disappointed by the quality of the food. It wasn't up to scratch at all. They need to use better ingredients for their dishes. That was a big let down. I could never eat there again. So be warned that food can be basic if you eat there. But it does have a nice atmosphere and polite staff

Fantastic meal this evening, I’m currently on a course in London and very anxious to go far from the hotel with the current covid situation still around us so I chose to eat in Chilli & Sage. Very quiet, sadly due to covid but superb service from both gentlemen I spoke with. I am a pescatarian so couldn’t have the meat options and didn’t fancy fish and chips so asked what the pasta of the day was and the chef offered to make me what I would like so penne arrabiata was my choice and a delicious hot, fresh dish was bought out only a short wait afterwards. Both men checked back on me and although I didn’t opt for a dessert that was only down to being very satisfied with my main, I would certainly highly recommend for either a pre theatre earlier meal or a dinner with family/friends. Nice atmosphere and brilliant staff! Thank you for making me feel safe and well looked after.

Good customer service from start to finish. My friend was running late so I waited outside for her to arrive. I was offered a drink by Parvin and he was understanding that my friend was running late. He was very professional but personable throughout the evening. The table was set nicely and we were given finger bowls as we had sticky chicken wings. We explained that we didn't know that the bottomless was for only 30 minutes and Parvin was very generous and kept our glasses topped up. The prosecco was nice and not bitter like most of them are. Parvin also recommended the steak which is something that I usually avoid but I trusted his judgement and I'm so glad that I did. I had a starter and a main and the whole meal was faultless. Cooked fresh and tasted and looked great. The chef even came out to ask if we wanted dessert. It was a lovely evening and I would definitely return and recommend to all.

I decided to venture out of my hotel room in St Giles Hotel and go and eat in the west end. It was raining and windy but that didn’t stop me. Every restaurant and eating place had queues out side or full inside. I couldn’t even fond anywhere to have a coffee. I went back to the hotel and realised they had a restaurant to. Well , let me tell you it was fabulous. Prevenn the waiter was so polite , helpful and made me feel calm after my walk round the city . I had a coffee first as I really needed it. The food was amazing, the service the same and pleasant piano music in the background . All in all saved the day. Thank you Prevenn and chef. I’d recommend the restaurant and the hotel as well.

Four of us dined in this hole. Staff were excellent, especially Florin whoserved us, but the food, oh dear, utterly garbage. Cheapest ingredients and vile tasting guff. Do yourselves a favour and give it a wide berth.

We were staying at St Giles so decided to give The Sage and Chilli restaurant a try before the theatre, they have some really good specials on which are good value especially for London. Our food was lovely and the staff were great we went back again the night after but unfortunately they were full. Would without doubt use the restaurant again.

ce restaurant est à l interieur de lhotel st giles donc apres une journée de marche dans la ville c est pratique de ne pas ressortir pour manger. bon accueil meme si personne ne parle le français et n essaye pas (contrairement a d autres restaurants) nous avons choisi le fish &chips avec une biere à 10£ bon rapport qualité prix pour londres . Le dessert un cheesecake etait delicieux

La nourriture est bonne. Mais je demande le T BONE, on vient me trouver qu'il n'y en a plus. Pas de soucis, je prends le simple steak à la place. Et lorsque je reçois l'addition on me facture un t bone. Réponse du serveur le steak était plus grand donc le prix est normal ??? Dommage car bien mangé; mais du coup, nous sommes allés les autres soir au resto Hudson's, et là franchement je recommande celui là parmi les 3 de l'hôtel

Is restaurant in hotel waar we verbleven. Na lezen van de beoordelingen op tripadvisor besloten op hier te eten. Suggestie was entrecote met frietjes voor 15 £. En die was super lekker, goed gegrild en portie meer dan voldoende. Ik at rissoto, ook zeer lekker en meer dan voldoende. Prijzen van de drank waren iets duurder. Vriendelijke bediening. Er werd ons zelfs een gebakje van het huis aangeboden. Interieur zeer basic. Hier wordt 's morgens ook het ontbijt gegeven.

I saw the offer of Steak and Wine for £11.95 and thought "that's a winner". I usually send to go further Addie's for dinner when starting at an hotel but it drew me in work the promise of juicy sirloin. I was asked if I was ready to order before I'd even been given a menu, unusual thought I but given if all but gone all in on the steak I wasn't perturbed and so ordered adding the so called chimichurri to sweeten the deal. The portion was meagre on arrival and my suspicion that the chimichurri appeared to be basis peso with a time of olive oil and a couple of chili flakes thrown at it was soon to be proven well founded. I could let all of that go except... the steak. The steak was an insult to steak and to the cow that died in its name. A piece of shoe leather that Clarke's would have been proud of. In short, don't bother.

Had dinner one night at Sage & Chilli while my family was in town. The food was fresh and tasty, the service was exceptional (especially Florin) and the prices very reasonable.

The staff are lovely. The food quality is excellent. We enjoyed a pre theatre dinner and an afternoon tea here. Very relaxed, nice atmosphere, customer service first class, waiters friendly. Such nice gentlemen. I would highly recommend.

Hace poco estuvimos en una gira de Cricket en el Reino Unido y nos quedamos en la calle. Hotel Giles. Cenamos en el Sage and Chilli con todos los jugadores y el personal. Tenían una serie de especiales muy asequibles en ejecución. La comida era de buena calidad y el personal era muy amable. Terminamos recibiendo pastel de manzana de cortesía!

The tea was not in a tea pot - just a tea bag in a cup. It was not tasty. The scones were not fresh, and there was butter instead of clotted cream. I was disappointed.

Indubbiamente eravamo in tanti e qualcosa può sfuggire ... ristorante all’interno del St Giles . Cucina buona e chef italiano disponibile ma qualcosa è mancato nel servizio di qualche incauto cameriere un po’ sui toni con qualche commensale . Pasta al forno ottima e parmigiana davvero saporita . A volte basterebbe poco per una serata piacevole poiché quello si cerca quando si va al ristorante di certo non stupidi alterchi

On a diné 2 fois dans ce restaurant situé à l'intérieur du St Giles Hotel, a la carte ou formule steak/fish and chips avec verre de vin ou bière à 11 livres. Personnel très attentif et compétent. Bonne cuisine avec des plats gouteux. On y reviendra avec plaisir.

Staff were warm and welcoming, especially Florin he was nice and made us feel comfortable and able to have a good time instantly. The food was fast and delicious, would definitely recommend here to someone if you’re looking for a great place for a date or casual dinner, cocktails and drinks are excellently priced and well made, would recommend to anyone.

The staff we’re very helpful and made sure we were completely satisfied especially Florin who made an extra effort for us! Would recommend this place for food and drinks great prices too.

A colleague and I tried the Sage & Chilli at lunchtime. We had the lunchtime special - Sirloin Steak, Fries and a glass of House Red wine. We asked for one steak medium, and one medium rare, and that is how they came - hats off to a restaurant these days that gets it right! It was good food, good value for money, and also great service from our waiter, Pawel. All round, a great lunchtime experience.

The Head Waiter, Florin, is particularly welcoming and attentive - always giving the very best service and his friendliness can lift the day! The food is always good whilst being very good value for money. The pizzas are particularly good - freshly made to order and a variety of toppings.

All the staff were friendly and only too willing to help. The food was delicious and came to the table very quickly. Special mention must be given to Agnes who is very efficient, knowledgeable and greets everyone in a friendly and approachable way.

This restaurant is a good choice if you are staying at the St Giles and don't want to go into the zoo of the bar downstairs. It is quiet and peaceful. We had a veggie pizza. It was okay, but not exceptional. The crust was rather soft and floppy. Service is okay, and with a coupon from the St Giles hotel, you can get 25% discount.

Muchas veces me quedo aquí, pero esta es la primera vez que probamos el menú previo al teatro, y fue excelente, un buen precio para 3 platos y una copa de vino de la casa por 2 extra. 99, bien vale la pena. Los dos comimos ensaladas de tomate y mozzarella, era bueno, comí Rissotto con hongos y mi amigo Ceaser, comimos postres, comí una tarta de queso y mi amigo Sticky Toffee Pudding y helado, ambos tuvimos vino, fue una muy buena comida y nuestra camarera Agnes fue muy educada y servicial y volveremos a comer aquí en nuestra próxima visita, que será pronto.

Que to get in 40 long , uninspiring food, scrambled eggs by the bucket loads, but no poached or fried eggs. Toast mass produced mostly not hot, flustered and disinterested staff. Overbooked and undercatered. And tea, no English breakfast tea.

The room in which we were eating was COLD and that impacted on the meal as it was difficult to get comfortable. The food was fine, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Was staying at the St.Giles Hotel and was pleased to discover this convenient and pleasant restaurant within the Hotel. Arrived just before the restaurant was due to open but the very friendly & helpful waiter invited us in and offered us a drink and the menus while they set up. Chose from the main menu as the pre theatre menu was limited. We had the lamb dish & a pizza(no tomato sauce a little strange). Food hot & tasty would have returned for another meal but we had already made bookings elsewhere before arriving in London. Would recommend even if not staying at the hotel. Near to British Museum so worth a detour.

Mientras en una entrada para el teatro, la perspectiva de una buena comida italiana en el hotel realmente me atrajo. El menú era un poco limitado, pero la comida en general era bastante sabrosa y excelente relación calidad-precio, aunque el búfalo era bastante insípida mozarella ensalada entrante en mi. Me gustó el ambiente moderno bistró en el lugar, aunque el personal no parecía que entusiasta, y cometió un error con nuestra orden una noche. Habiendo dicho eso, se realizó enteramente a nuestra satisfacción.

Avevamo altre volte mangiato in questo ristorante, comodo per chi , come noi, soggiorna al St Giles. Però abbiamo l'abitudine, quando siamo a Londra, di non mangiare italiano...lo facciamo quando siamo a casa! Quindi abbiamo avuto una delusione quando ci hanno detto che il cuoco malese non c'era più, nonostante che in camera ci fosse ancora il menù con le due opzioni, orientale e italiana. Credo che sarebbe più corretto adeguare il menù nelle camere dell'albergo alla nuova situazione. Comenque, a parte questo, non abbiamo mangiato male....ma non era quello che volevamo!

Tenía las ensaladas César que prácticamente sólo tenía mayonesa en ellas y spaghetti que sabía a que venía de una can.

Comida excelente comida italiana. Precios muy razonables y el servicio era genial - muy atento sin ser dominantes. ¡Me encantó!

Arrived late at the St Giles Hotel and decided to eat at one of the 'in house' (Sage and Chill) restaurant, then wished I hadn't. The menu choice was far more limited than the one in the hotel room glossy book. I chose the Cod, which they didn't have, and then found the prawn and courgette pasta tasteless and with far too much oil. I had a couple of mouthfuls, with extra seasoning, but it was still tasteless, so I left it. The waitress noticed I had hardly eaten any, and asked if it was okay, I explained and although she apologised and asked if I wanted anything else, when I said I didn't , she still charged me for the meal, I was too tired to argue. I mentioned it to the concierge, but heard nothing else. Luckily there are some great places to eat in the surrounding streets! I don't usually put negative reviews on here, but make an exception for this.

We did the pre show menu and wasn’t disappointed, we had the starter and main course, one of us had the chicken it was lovely plenty of vegetables and a lovely piece of chicken. The other had lasagne quite a large portion and tasty. Even had a free glass of wine with the voucher from the booklet given to us by the hotel. Would recommend.

We were stopping in the hotel so popped in a snack around 8.45pm for the waitress to tell us that they closed at 9.45pm. Not a problem as were only there for a quick bite to eat. My partner and I ordered a pizza each and we're given a bill at the table before our dinner even arrived! Pizzas arrived and within 5 minutes the waitress arrived at our table with a card machine to take payment! I politely told her it settle up once we'd finished eating- apparently she couldn't see a problem with asking in the first place. She then returned 3 minutes later to demand payment, I (Not so politely) advised she was rude and out of order to keep interrupting. She advised she had a job to do and needy cash up now- the time being 9.25pm. I demanded to speak to her a manager and she advised she was the supervisor. My partner and I stood up from the table and left the restaurant, passing the chef on the way who advised the hotel were in charge. I reported directly to the duty manager of the hotel. Obviously I did not pay!! How a restaurant can be ran with rude and argumentative staff I will never know! As for the pizza- it was just about edible!

Nos dieron una pizza y pasta y era muy, muy delicioso. Podemos y sin duda elegiré recomiendo una visita.

El personal era eficiente en limpiar las mesas y organizar para siguiente cliente, muy atento y agradable, desayunamos allí, la selección era muy buena, pero lamentablemente la calidad no era.

My food was hot, tasty and very nice, but the atmosphere was non existent and the staff were totally switched. Did not enjoy being there at all

I was staying in the hotel on my own due to a work training course so decided to eat in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick and efficient. The prices were reasonable, especially the early bird menu of 2 courses for £9.99. The food was good and arrived quickly, the menu is a mix of Italian or Asian which seems a bit odd but it's actually ok.

Ligger på andra våningen i Hotell Saint Gilles. Maten var mycket god & smakrik. Lokalerna är supertråkiga men maten uppväger allt. Fantastisk trevlig betjäning av språkkunnig servitris.

Personnel très sympa, mais choix et qualité très moyenne. Les pizzas sont bonnes et faites minute. Cadre pas terrible, local sans âme. Bref, ok quand on n'a pas très faim et qu'on n'a pas envie de bouger de l'hôtel...

So today is Christmas.I understand on Christmas day and it can be busy, my friends and I have been waiting for 60min until having one table. For the record we did make a reservation.After finally sitting down, we waited for another 20min to have our order done. The waitress claimed to have no authority taking orders hence she kept us waiting.The manager finally came to take order with horrible attitude.This must have been a Christmas miracle, I love the city of London and the people within. Yet this restaurant is absolutely dissapointing and I would never visit this restaurant again. One suggestion for the restaurant:Should you are not capable of receiving that many guests, don't leave them hanging outside, especially on a Christmas day.

Took advantage of their pizza and beer offer for £7.50 and loved it. Friend had Carbonara and said it was one of the best she'd had when eating out. Other diners' food look good and plentiful. Ate breakfast in same restaurant this morning and we were very happy with content, quality and service for the price. Restaurant spotlessly clean. All staff we encountered were helpful, friendly and efficient.

Eravamo in 36 alloggiati presso l'hotel S. Giles e la sera dell'arrivo ci è stata proposta la cena a buffet in una saletta riservata . Lo chef Massimo ci ha deliziati con piatti molto appetitosi e ben presentati, dal classico fish and chip a una stupenda parmigiana con contorni vari ed altri assaggi sfiziosi. Il tutto servito con grande cura e gentilezza da una cameriera che parlava bene l'italiano , dispensava sorrisi a tutti e molto attenta alle richieste dei clienti. Bravi tutti, grazie!

Last night in London, what to eat?Decided to go out and see what we can find, toured through Chinatown then through Leicester Square finally back up Charing Cross Road to the hotel (St Giles).Thought we'd give it a go, rather strange mix of Thai and Italian but always the stand by of steak.Wife went for steak, rather unusual mix of chips and wedges came with the meal but all OK, I went for a Thai /Malaysian dish, OK but at the bone level of the chicken there was still some blood, only a little but a nearby table had already sent back a lasagne due to it being cold in the middle. Maybe the chef was just having a bad night?

Bon restaurant avec un large choix de plats. Peut-être qu'il faudrait un peu plus de desserts. Sinon les prix étaient très abordables, je recommande

Ristorante dell' hotel St. Giles offre piatti orientali , tailandesi, ma alcuni camerieri e un cuoco sono italiani per cui un piatto di pasta ben cucinato lo fanno ugualmente. Ho assaggiato oltre che tagliolini co gamberi e zucchine , buono, ben bilanciato, un piatto tipo sushi con riso e gamberi gradevole. Birra anche italiana ma mi hanno consigliato una birra di singapore che era ottima. Prezzi buoni per Londra e se alloggiate in hotel sconto 20 percento. In due con entratina primo secondo acqua birra e caffe speso 45 sterline.

E' uno dei 3 ristoranti che fanno capo al Saint Gilles Hotel. Ci siamo stati la prima sera dopo l'arrivo ed essendo ospiti dell'albergo abbiamo usato un buono sconto del 20% sul conto. Si può scegliere tra la cucina italiana e quella orientale e noi abbiamo scelto un piatto malese, Salmom Teriyaki per 2, 2 birre, poi un Flute al Limoncello , e abbiamo speso £ 27.45, risparmiando per lo sconto £ 6.10. Ci ha serviti una signora italiana gentile, e il servizio è stato veloce. Comunque eravamo in pochi. Cibo buono, nella norma. Direi accettabile, prezzo buono per Londra.

Nice people, friendly staff, but the menu double act of semi Oriental/Italian and UK choices is bizarre. It feels like a canteen, hard, clunky furniture, large groups on big tables...my steak was just OK, under-seasoned, a basic crime for any so-called chef...rather mean on the undercooked chips, salad bits...please someone in management, show them how Wetherspoons serves up a rib-eye for two-thirds the price, and how it sizzles on delivery, rather than sit there tepid and ashamed of itself......and the desserts are 'ice creams on a printed menu'...you know the sort of thing, and not that great in flavour. Very nice waitress staff, really charming, but hardly any sort of dining experience. I won't eat there again, and there are dozens of better places within a hundred yards.

I was staying overnight and it was raining, so the hotel offered discounts to the in-house restaurants.This was one and my expectations were not high. The service was very good and attentive, the food was brilliant and there was no rushing. I would recommend this even without the 20% discount on food.

cool mix of foods in a restaurant. Great food and a good location next to the hotel. The restaurant also provided free wifi if you asked. When we went to the resturant we were alone because we ate around 15.00-16.00. One of the waitors was abit rude, she almost ignored us eventhough we were the only ones there, other than that it was great. Would maybe recomend it, it wasn't one of my favourites, I'd rather recomend you to one of the other resturants in the same building as st.giles.

A very good choice provided and I decided to choose an Italian option which was very nice. Good service and value for money.

4 i følge. Alle bestilte pizza. Det var dagens dvs pizza og øl til 7 pund. Bestilte en vegetar pizza. Den var stor til å være for 1 person. Perfekt bunn. Smaken var helt ok. Service var bra. Rask. Gir faktisk 3+. Kommer nok igjen.

Good deals on offer for hotel guests (St. Giles) we chose from the a-la-care menu (20% discount for residents) which isn't extensive but at around £12 per main course was good value for money and generous portions.

A menu choice between Asian and Italian, excellent value, good food, friendly efficient staff, relaxed atmosphere. Veggie pizza very good, and the tempura king prawn sushi was excellent. £23.00 with 1 beer and 1 glass of wine (using the discount voucher provided by St Giles).

Just look at the picture. Complete scamPizza and beer deal sounds good. Except the pepperoni pizza only had 6 slices of pepperoni, yes 6. Less than one per slice
