Good Udupi food, hard to get in Northwest London. We like the variety and the relaxing ambience without too much of a crowd and the takeout service

I ordered medu vada and lemon rice today. Medu vada was good. Lemon rice was not good. It doesn't have appropriate level of salt and doesn't contain any lemon flavor to call it as a lemon rice. When paid the bill I mentioned that lemon rice needs to be improved. Those were exact my words. To my shock the manager said "whenever you come, you are complaining. please find another restaurant". I provide feedback so that food quality and taste can be improved. As the manager suggested I will never visit this restaurant again. My friends stopped visiting this restaurant because of this guy's arrogant behavior. If this person doesn't willing get any feedback, I don't know why is he running the restaurant.

It’s the best Mysori Masala Dosa I had and the Hajra halwa was amazing.

At this point I'm a regular! Delicious vegan and vegetarian food with loads of choices and cheap prices. Decor is really warm and inviting. Staff are friendly and attentive. Large seating area. I go there regularly because he Vegan thali is divine and has so much I have leftovers the next day. Also not expensive for the amount you get.Vegan Channa Batura and Mysore dosa are delicious too!

Edit. Its lost/changed its chef. Not so good these days. Old Review: Really impressed. I didn't go in when it first opened because it was the 'new shiny place' but went in there on a quiet lunchtime, and the food was really good, and surprisingly good value.

The food is very tasty and customer service is very good I have being coming to this restaurant regularly and it is my favourite restaurant.

Booked with Fork, offer was 50% off which the restaurant hesitantly offered. My guess is they were not very happy that we booked through fork. Left them a decent tip to compensate. The restaurant also mentioned that they could not see the booking on their side.

Every dish ordered was excellent and the prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for 2024. The dhosas are particularly good. Starter, mains and dessert is comfortably less than £20, excluding drinks.

A hidden gem in North Harrow. Didn't expect much as more cafe style but wow the food is top notch. The thali , dosa and chilli paneer are all so tasty. The prices so reasonable as well. Just goes to show you don't need to go to a overly priced place to get good food. It will be our new go to Indian food place

Weve dined at the Sagar many times. It;s just great food and service, excellent value for money, especially with the 30% Fork discount. It's our go-to restaurant.

Went here for a quick meal. Quite impressed by the clarity of their menu when it comes to vegan and gluten-free options. So easy to know what's what instead of asking confused waiters.

Sagar came to us highly recommended through The Fork and did not disappoint. The decor and ambience were contemporary and welcoming, as were the staff, who were friendly and attentive. The food was well priced, plentiful, and delicious. We were delighted with our experience and are determined to repeat it with an even larger contingent next time.

Great veg Indian, local favourite

This was our 4th visit over last three months. Each time the service has been fantastic. The manager Jagdish has got to know me well and each order is taken exactly to individual tastes. This time I chose the Paper Paneer Dosa to try which was nice to compare to other establishments and next time I shall try the Rava Onion Dosa. We again had the cauliflower manchurian, vegetable biriyani and thali - all were wonderful. As all of us were full, we decided not to have dessert. We shall return again soon to try new dishes.

Always great service and good food

The food at Sagar North Harrow can only be described as wholesome with a strong influence on home-style taste. This is not a place for a heavy and overly spicy curry, but what they do offer is balanced, authentic and satisfying, which does not leave you feeling heavy afterwards. This is very consistent throughout their menu. The decore, lighting and sophisticated service cues are reminiscent of fine dining but at reasonable prices. There is a genuine care that the staff show in ensuring that you have a really good meal. This does well to compliment the taste of their food and it is very much a winning formula.

Food is awful. Definitely chef is not from Udupi. Bet they don’t even know where udupi is located. Considering location being harrow was expecting better food. 4 of dining not even a single food was tasty. Traveled all the way from south London. Poori bhaji- bhaji looks like dosa allu filling not tasty, dahi puri wrong dahi used, harabara kebab is taste less, mango lassi is mango pulp from tin, come on guys you can do better - you are destroying sagar name and reputation of udupi. Not recommended to avoid if possible.

We recently dined at Sagar Restaurant, North Harrow. and it was a pleasant experience with diverse selection of vegetarian dishes on the menu. The highlight of our dining experience was the impeccable service provided by the manager, Jagdish. His professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care for our dining experience were truly commendable. Jagdish went above and beyond to ensure that our food choices were catered to our preferences, and his recommendations were spot-on. His friendly demeanor and passion for hospitality was excellent and not many restaurant managers achieve it. Highly recommended.

We go to the Sagar quite regularly, and always enjoy the experience, and at such an amazingly good price, even before the Fork discounts. Very highly recommended!

Rude behaviour by the manager Jagadish. Very unwelcoming with standoffish body language. We were invited to the restaurant for PR promotions but the manager refused to entertain us. Really sad to see such unprofessionalism when the manager refuses to check with the restaurant owners about guest bookings.

The food is delicious, the prices are very good value and the service is great too. Can’t wait to go back

Service and atmosphere this restaurant is very unique - the music in background is highly depressing and you are served by three people? Little confusing to me. However the gentleman who took our order, he was very polite and helping us to choose the right dish, asking us if everything all right - yes, very good attitude however her female colleague was kind of impolite. We just finished our dinner and she was already waiting there with the card machine (we didn’t ask about the bill yet), she told us the service charge is not included so how much we want to pay - little bit “forcing” us to give a tip? This is not the professional way, based on her attitude we decided not give any tips. After the payment, she had angry face, didn’t even offered us receipts. I believe it can be a great place if this lady gets more experience of customer service or even better to not working there. I can’t recommend this place…

We came from Leicester and happened to be in the area. We came in at 9pm today and it was so welcoming. The staff were so quick and efficient, the food came so quickly and piping hot. This was pure authentic food, will definitely come here again.

This is a such a brilliant find. The ambience is welcoming and the Manager has an awesome sense of humour. He ensures you get your food exactly as you ordered. We are quite finicky with our food and he ensured every nuance was taken care of, which is not something many can achieve .

Delicious vegetarian and vegan South Indian food at an affordable price. This is our favourite local restaurant. We dine here often. I can highly recommend the following: masala papad, gobi Manchurian, Hakka noodles, masala dosa, spring dosa, chana bhatura and Idli Sambhar.

I loved this place. The rates were economic with authentic Indian taste. So if taste and pocket matters must visit.

We dined there for dinner, the starters we ordered chilli paneer which was good. Ordered Idli and had to request it to be replaced as it was not good which they did. Dosa’s were ok, don’t expect the South Indian taste. Finally ordered masala tea which was very bad(it tasted like water + milk powder) when we informed them, they said this is their masala tea ! Which was shocking and we did pay for the tea at the end which we did not drink.

Me and my family have been going to Sagar regularly since it opened in 2015 and we have always been very impressed with the quality of the food, the service and the ambience. We have also taken our friends there and they have been so impressed. We will be returning. Keep up the good work.

I am very upset to go to this restaurant on my grandson birthday. We went on big thoughts according to web site advert but when we ordered the food was very hopeless. We order the Thali all food was so cold been pre cooked may be in the morning as we went at night at 8pm. Even it was not worm up all subjis was no test only they served fresh puris . Rest of the food was dog food . And it cost £11:95 p/p . We spent about £65.00 . I would never go to that restaurant again nore advise any one to go . If you expecting good quality food . Instead you will find other Indian restaurants in the prise unlimited and fresh cooked food.

Fantastic Vegetarian & Vegan South Indian food.. Dosas & Uthappam , Idli , Vada etc. Meals are delicious & fresh. Friendly , efficient service.

Would give zero starts if I could. Booked months before Diwali for family dinner. A few days before they called and cancelled us because they got a bigger booking...what a disgrace.

The toilets are too small and terrible! There is no shower pipe/bidet! The food and drinks are not good! Not worth a penny!

I recently dined at Sagar restaurant, and it was an absolute delight! The menu offered an incredible variety of vegetarian dishes that and delicious. The restaurant's ambiance was welcoming, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes, making it easy to explore new flavors. Plus, the vegan dessert options were to die for! I highly recommend this restaurant to both vegans and vegitarians looking to enjoy a fantastic dining experience.

Can’t believe a potato bhaji plate that costs £4:25 only had 6 pieces, total rip-off. The same when ordered from Sree Krishna Vada Pav gets me 20ish pieces that too for the same price. Batura was rubbery, but chana was good. Mysore Masala was tasty but they forgot to pack onion chutney with it, or was it cost cutting. Taste was alright, nothing out of this world, won’t be ordering again.

Loved their Pakodas and Rava Masala Dosa. Very crispy and delicious. Nice and calm place to enjoy a lovely meal at any time. Loved the vibe of the place and the friendly service.

A delightful place next to the train station, we've been to Sagar for both lunch and dinner. Jagdish always serves with a smile, and may I add, there's something very elegant about his service. Next, the ambience. Very comfortable seating, with a mix of booths and tables. Though not positioned as a fine dining restaurant, Sagar has the air of one. Cozy, comfortable and stylish, that's how I'd describe the place. Finally, the food. We still have a lot to explore, but the chana bhatura has bowled us over. So much so that we don't mind the hour and a half long drive just to eat that! The chaats are very tasty, and so is the gulab jamun. The menu has so many choices from both South and North India. We're looking forward to trying out all of them. Also, the air-conditioning inside was really a fine respite from the extreme summer heat outside.

Bad quality food. Nothing like what you get in the restaurant. Everything was stale, old, dry and cold. Will not order from here again.

Went here years ago and it was great. So thought we should go again...firstly was told all the tables on the right were reserved. We said we would be only an hour, but manager still refused, note. Place was empty at 530pm. He then told us 6pm is all reserved (no one came and we left at 630pm) Now the real show...waitress couldnt speak english. Tried speaking in hindi and whilst she understood she was useless. As we ordered food for the table and we share it, we asked for plates which they seemed reluctant to give...then the manager came and basically put it on my wifes lap rather than serving them as any normal person would know...when challenged him on this, he smerked and basically didnt care, didnt acknowledge or apologize...ruined the experience totally and honestly dont know why we bothered. With mumbai local up the road in rayners lane, ill just stick to there if we want some south indian food. Summary. Dont bother going here...so many better options...sooner it closes down and replaced with tams peri peri, the better :-)

Worst Rava dosa which was smelly. Service pathetic

I ordered a North Indian thali: tasteless/just dry spices used and low quality ingredients I had one cube of potato rest was sauce same went for the other side dishes. The rice: frozen veg rice and tons of fennel seeds boiled and strain(was supposed to be a biyani) was horrible. The roti was some cheap white plain flour so roti was like rubber. What a waste of packaging and my money. You should make the quality better and have less it’ems in thali of your concern is just profit. £13.00 wasted. A

Sagar is probably an under celebrated restaurant in the area for veg food. It ticks all the boxes which is rare for a restaurant. Good food, value for money, clean and good ambience.

We had lovely food at reasonable price and lovely service. We ended up being there for almost 4 hours and there was no rush to get us out.

Servers sets the customer to have guilty feeling of ‘Why we entered?’ This restaurant has tasteless dosas and expression less faces. please do improve on service and taste of food.
