Saffron Persian Restaurant in Nottingham

The food quality was Okish, the portion size could be a bit larger. We ordered multiple dish and liked the Fesenjan more.

Food was incredible. I got a platter and the chicken was succulent and juicy, the meat was cooked to perfection and tasted so great. I ordered a stew which has tender delicious meat which was beautiful. Overall it’s great and they deserve more recognition.

Just had dinner tonight. Excellent fresh and high class home made food. Enjoyed it thoroughly and met a lovely, devoted and dedicated couple who wants to deliver the true taste of Iranian cousine to their guests. You guys have won our trust. Thanks and God bless you.

Great service ! Friendly and cordial staff, very nice cosy ambience, not noisy at all. It was my first experience with Persian food, and it was absolutely delicious ! I had the lamb shank, and the yogurt drink. Refreshing!

Family run, very welcoming. Freshly made incredible food, with authentic fragrant flavours of Iranian cooking. The meat kebabs are perfect and use of saffron in rice dishes is subtle. Best Persian meal I’ve ever had! Lovely people too.

Ive been to many persian restaurants and I think this one is a hidden gem. The decor is very traditional, you feel as if you really went to Iran. The kebabs are the best I've ever had and the quality of meat is always absolute premium. I consider myself very lucky that we have this place in Nottingham. Definitely a must go 😍

Ordered takeout and the service was good but the food was very disappointing. Ordered Jojeh (chicken skewer) and soltani (lab skewer) and both were bland. Iranian food is known for its flavour and spices, this had none, they just grill the meat. Also, just because you add yellow food coloring to the rice doesn't make it 'Saffron' flavoured. Only ok thing was the Kashke. We also ordered wings (disappointing), baghlava and bread, which were ok. Total price was £55 - not worth it for grilled and bland food. Had such high hopes.

We had a lovely evening at saffron. My mum who’s normally very hard to please loved every dish ! The family who runs it was super friendly and even shared the top of the rice crust with us. Bring your own possibility just topped the experience. We’ll definitely return.

Service is incredible. The manager is very friendly and caring to me. The manager seems to enjoy serving customers very much and put 100% into it.

Came here on a quiet evening and it was a brilliant experience. The food was amazing and authentic. The service was brilliant and all staff were incredibly friendly. Fair price for what you get as portions are large, I can’t recommend enough for both students and non-students

I've ordered over the phone to collect it, and I was told the food would be ready in 20 minutes. I said I would be 30 minutes to ensure it's available for me to pick up and go quickly. Nevertheless, I had to wait another 10min upon arrival as there was only 1 person serving people in the restaurant and couldn't deliver my food which apparently was sat in kicthen getting cold. I was then asked to pay in cash which I found the thing of the past, more time wasted on that and after I got the food back ro work I was shocked about the poor quality of kebab which I was embarrassed as a persian to offer to my English friends! Not recommended unless they undergo a full assessment of quality and service.

For starters we ordered 'kashke badamjan' with naan. For the mains it was 'baghali polo & koobideh kebab'... The food didn't disappoint! It was fresh and portion sizes were decent. I will be returning in the future.. If I might suggest that 'salad olivieh' be added onto the starter menu as it is a standard starter offered in most Persian restaurants. Other than that I absolutely loved everything about Saffron!

Small family run business with authentic-tasting Persian food. We took a variety of kebabs as a take away and thoroughly enjoyed them. Update: dined in a few times and enjoyed the quality of food. The only reason I've deducted a star is because they don't accept card payments

Such a hidden gem! Everything is perfect; the best Persian food I've ever tried; clearly food are made fresh and new everyday with high quality meat. The restaurant owners are so kind and lovely (bonus point: handsome and gorgeous). It is really cozy and warm inside making it feel like home. Worth trying everything on the menu, especially the special tea. Highly recommend this restaurant and will defo come back...

The Koobideh here is delicious, l and the rice with pomegranates! Also the wings are very juicy. Atmosphere is great, big Persian vibes. Highly recommend. If you’re looking for some more Persian and feeling adventurous definitely try the Gormeh Sabzi.

It was the first time I went to this restaurant and I want to say that the environment was full of energy and a good feeling, and the customer service was very good and the food was wonderful. I felt like I had gone to my mother's house in Iran and my mother had prepared food for me. It was great and I will definitely go to this restaurant again.🍀🙏🏻

The food was good (in both quality and quantity!). After we asked for the bill the host said they accept cash only (we were visitors and didn't have enough cash), so we had to look for an ATM to get cash and we were charged 14% more for the exchange. They should consider other means of payment or at least mention that this is cash only! (which is very weird)

The food here is spectacular. I lived in Nottingham for 4 years and never knew about this restaurant. We had jooje, koobide, and sultani kebabs, all of which were amazing! The food came quickly, the portion sizes were very generous, and the ingredients were fresh. The sides were also very delicious, we had the zeytoon parvarde and maast-mosir. Fresh bread is baked at the restaurant which came with the sides/mains, and let me tell you, the bread was fantastic. We also had the doogh (yoghurt drink) which was thick and very morish. The service was very very lovely too! Absolutely no complaints, only compliments to the staff & chef 🥰 Favourite restaurant in Nottingham by miles 🏆 (Review written by a fellow Iranian 😉)

As a Persian, I found the foods the most authentic Persian foods which you can find in Nottingham. Nice environment, very friendly and welcoming owner and staff. Sent my British friends two times there and they also found the food very well-presented and tasty.

Lovely food and friendly service. All of the sides tasted very fresh and authentic. The bread was lovely 😊 Decor was fantastic. Suggested improvements: -accepting card payments (as it seems they are cash only) -being slightly faster with their service -The chicken kebab was nice but could have done with a bit of citrus, but a lemon was provided anyway so I'm just nitpicking at this point. Mixed grill with several sides was enough to fill my fiancé and I up. Reasonably priced for the quality of food you receive 👍

We drove from Leicester specially to try the Kebab Koobidas. Not completely satisfied. The kebabs were quite dry and chewy. The portion size was simply not enough and unfortunately we were told that salad is only served to seated tables and not takeaways. If salad is not a part of takeaways, then maybe there should be a seperate menu list with a price difference. Sorry but unfortunately this place didn't live upto our usually fairly high standards of other Persian restaurants around the country.

Restaurant is clean and cosy. food tastes like homemade ones. Portion sizes are very decent and it is a challenge to finish ;) We have ordered Bakhtiari (20) homous (3) and noon (36). Rice is very delicious and Chicken tastes wonderful. My only criticism is that they brought appetiser with the main. We have enjoyed and will come back.

First time for Persian food and loved it. It was very quiet but that's Mondays for you. We were recommended some signature dishes, all of which were beautifully cooked with tender moist meat. What an amazing restaurant! The food was lovely, made with heart and so flavoursome. The owner was very friendly and she was also the one who cooked which was very impressive. The decor and music also beautiful and it transformed us to Arabic world. Everything was perfect, definitely my favourite restaurant in Nottingham from now on.

This is an undiscovered treat. The home made Persian food was delicious. The slow cooked big portion Lamb Shank fell off the bone. The sauces were tasteful beyond belief.
