So sad you're closing down. I only got to experience this special place in its last month or so and managed to squeeze in one more lunch before the end. Great food from an excellent team! Good luck in the future.

Absolutely fantastic. Ritchie, Lauren and their team couldn't be more welcoming and lovely and the food was absolutely incredible. The char sui gem lettuce with wasabi cream was insane - one of those dishes you remember for a long time. Highly recommend heading to wherever you can find Lauren and Ritchie next!

Absolutely perfect dining experience, relaxed atmosphere, unintrusive friendly service and utterly delicious food, accompanied by an excellent wine choice, faultless in every way! Thank you so much! (Wish you weren’t closing, so we could visit again…)

Five stars across the board was awarded by us for a delicious and creative tasting menu experience. The food was out of this world. Ritchie and his team have taken plant based food to a level that few words can do it justice. Basil ice cream served with macerated strawberries had the wow factor. I lost count of how many different vegetables were consume and each was given a starring role. The sauces were sublimed. I cannot chose a favourite dish, they were ALL my favourite. The service was slick, friendly and attentive. An all round perfect dining experience.

Really enjoyed the food but spoiled by one thing for me. We were using a gift voucher bought by our daughter as a Christmas present to pay for part of the bill, so not a discount voucher, but this meant that we couldn’t claim your “lunch deal”. This feels unfair as the gift voucher is equivalent to cash and better for you as you’ve had the cash since December. Shame to spoil the experience by a bit of money pinching by you.

One of the best meals I've ever had. It was costly, and I wonder how much of that went to paying the landlord. But I can't fault the restaurant's offering.

Nottingham is losing one of its best restaurants. Food has been out of this world on all out visits. Texture, flavour and colour always well balanced and never over powering so you can taste everything.

It was a beyond brilliant experience & exceeded all my expectations. The restaurant itself is lovely & classic in style, but still warm and comfortable. Service is impeccable - warm, efficient & knowledgeable. The food is a delight - I loved the look of the menu and when it came, the colours, the texture, the flavour were magnificent & presentation ofc was beautiful. I couldn’t believe we were getting such great quality at such a good price - lunch set menu for two = £35! It is now my favourite restaurant in Nottingham (and I’m not vegetarian or vegan) so it is heartbreaking that they are closing, but I will be there for their new venture, with bells on!

Gem of a dining experience in Nottingham. Cosy plant-vase restaurant hidden in a city centre courtyard. Small plate menu, with each course flavoursome, well presented and very tasty. On the whole each meal is an experience to share with your fellow diner(s) and the food will be a talking point as you dine.

Our second time visiting, the food was amazing, the drinks paired with each course was exceptional, along with the staff who explained everything throughout our dining experience. An exceptional restaurant with friendly, knowledgeable staff and a creative, talented chef.

Have visited tge restaurant three or four times now and have never been disappointed with the food. the staff are very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. The food was excellent and really well presented. We will be visiting again.

From the friendly faces that greeted us and made sure we were well looked after throughout our visit, to the absolutely gorgeous food that was put before us. After seeing the dishes produced by the chef on Masterchef the Professionals, I thought his restaurant was well worth visiting. So a trip from Essex to Nottingham for a couple of days was organised. As a non-meat eater, I am usually disappointed with the veggie/vegan dishes. That certainly wasn’t the case at No Twelve. We visited with some friends for lunch. We selected all the dishes on the nut allergy menu to share. Each dish was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. It made for a very pleasant lunch. We also took in a performance of Opera North at the Theatre Royal, so a very enjoyable visit to Nottingham.

Always love coming here. It's a fantastic, relaxed environment and the food is exquisite.

Fantastic food, nicely presented and served in a timely manner. Early afternoon dining and so the restaurant was quiet however still a pleasant ambiance. All staff very helpful.

Was very disappointed that the £50 gift voucher we had with us couldn't be used for the lunch offer. I guess my in-laws should have just given us £50 cash as a Christmas gift, as your gift vouchers have no benefits, they actually stop customers using them on offers. The dumplings portion was tiny, and the cabbage dish was drowning in oil and looked like it was covered in maggots (which was rather off putting!) The cauliflower cheese and risotto were lovely. My husband and myself came in December 2023 and loved the food and we stayed for pudding. We didn't particularly enjoy our visit yesterday however

We’ve been here several times and always been impressed by the quality of the food. This visit was no exception, the tomato carpaccio and the cauliflower cheese were particular highlights. Such a lovely atmosphere too.

Better than what some consider to be the best! We have been to similar restaurants in Birmingham and London and No. Twelve is hands down better value for money and better tasting. It is so hard to choose a favourite dish they were all so amazing! Camembert was ridiculous and the sticky hispi just as great. It’s such a shame that another great place is leaving the high street, we travelled from Shropshire to visit but think we will be visiting again before they close!

An amazing evening. Arrived to a full restaurant and sat straight away. Not a large place and it created a cosy atmosphere with every one enjoying the company. We had chosen the taster and staff discussed the menu. Very knowledgeable about the entire menu and its ingredients. The evening passed with excellent food and service. With more than a few memorable wow moments and before we knew it it was over. Although not the end of the night as walking out we met the great man himself. We wish him and his staff all the best in whatever the future brings.

What a great meal we had on Saturday. Not sure what to expect, any preconceptions we had disappeared with the opening sharing Camembert , Smokey almonds and pickles and preserves. ‘ I’ll have a taste’ quickly became ‘I’ll finish it’. Backed up by outstanding service, one of the best meals I’ve had this year.

It's hard to find plant based restaurants that provide a Fine Dining experience. No 12 lives up to that promise. We had to travel some distance to experience their culinary delights but it was so worth the hassle of the motorway journey. The food was amazing and the serving staff very knowledgeable and helpful. It was delightful to see that furry friends are welcome too.

Our second visit....We'd definitely come more often if we lived closer. Lovely ambience, fantastic food - original dishes and really enjoyed the tapas approach. Carefully chosen wines and nice alochol-free opitions.Very friendly and helpful staff too. Can't wait to return. Highly recommend whether your diet is plant-based or not.

We had a private party buffet style in the upstairs room. The food was exceptionally good. Many comments were made by the guests the atmosphere was perfect for a gathering, I would highly recommend No12.

The food was okay but not as good as when I last visited before Christmas. Maybe we made bad choices but there was too much blue cheese and I am not sure the vegan version works well enough.

'Valentine's menu' We previously had a taster menu which was exceptional. The Valentine's menu in comparison was disappointing in comparison. The restaurant wasn't full, but service was delayed or didn't arrive at all. The gluten free option on the main course simply excluded the gluten element with no alternative.

Dined here several times (lunch and dinner), although neither vegetarian nor vegan - just like great food. Number Twelve does great food, in a really nice setting, with excellent service. Can't fault any aspect of the experiences or food we have had over several visits. The dishes are always interesting to me, both visually and in terms of taste. The menu items do change, and while I wouldn't describe the dishes as cheap, I do think we get good value for money given the quality of the dining experience. Easily one of the best places to eat in the East Midlands in my opinion. In the city centre so parking is challenging, but the tram stops really close by if needed.

Fabulous meal ..service was fantastic

The food was absolutely delicious. This is the third time I’ve been and I’ve never been disappointed. The service needs a little work but would not put me off booking again. Cocktails are fab.

Return visit to this excellent restaurant. Once again the food was wonderful, and the atmosphere relaxed, friendly and welcoming.

Food was ok but small portions, no sure with a select menu it had basic roast potatoes as a dish, nice but nothing different to what you cook at home.

Wonderful restaurant - talented chef- absolutely delicious beautiful and inspired dishes. Wine is wonderful and wait staff is lovely. Atmosphere is cozy and warm. I hope that this restaurant gets the accolades it deserves… gem of a place tucked away in a quiet little spot.

Really good vegan meal with tapas-style small plate options. We ordered 3 plates each which was plenty, followed up by similar small plate deserts. Food quality excellent and a nice feel to the place. Rather pricey - £170 bill for 4 including drinks (service & tree planting donation included) but it was a special occasion meal. Unfortunately they don't accept the Blue Light card which is a shame.

A great experience... how come we only just found out about this place. Truly fabulous food with a nice focus on locally sourced ingredients and lots of English wines (which were delicious). We went for the Masterchef tasting menu which was such a treat. We are keen to return and try the a al carte menu. Thankyou for a wonderful evening

Food was delicious, I am a meat eater and friend a vegetarian and were delightfully surprised at the quality of the food , every dish was tasty and yummy, staff were very professional and very attentive.....we will definitely be visiting again x

Restaurant is small, lovely and warm with good service. We tried 5-6 dishes + dessert. The dumplings were tasty, the wine was good, but we didn’t enjoy the taste of the chickpeas/hummus flatbread.

Food (Masterchef tasting menu) was interesting and at times, brilliant (Korean fried mushroom was a particular highlight but the Beeton mess was not good at all). Savoury dishes were better than sweet. Service was a little hit and miss (forgot the wine order twice, and coffee served before petits fours). The choice of music was a bit weird!

Our first plant based experience. We had special Masterchef 6 course tasting. First 2 courses were excellent. Pea and Loveage tart had very little taste and the pastry was too thick and heavy. The main tasting dish included various items well presented and tasty but spoiled by a very vinegar based red sauce. The deserts were far too sweet and unfortunately the last meringue course was left un eaten by the whole table. Wine choice was very limited but the bottle we chose was good.

Excellent food and ambiance - loved the range of food and flavours

One word. Phenomenal. The food is an exceptional explosion of taste and texture. We've been for Valentine's and more recently for the lunch menu 2 snacks; 4 plates and it's just an all round wonderful experience. Staff are lovely too. Highly recommend.

Love this place! Tried the 10 course MasterChef menu and really enjoyed it. The vanilla sponge and blackberry dessert was amazing! The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Will return.

This was our second visit and sadly not as good as first visit. The room wasn’t very warm, some of the sharing plates were very small eg dumplings, Beeton mess desert had an odd flavour combination so overall our experience this time was a little disappointing.

We experienced the six course Masterclass tasting menu. We were a group of four (carnivores and vegetarians) and we all absolutely loved all of the food. It was a beautifully presented meal. The tastes, textures and flavours were sublime.

I went to this restaurant after watching the chef Ritchie Stainsby on Masterchef the Professionals. His food looked interesting and delicious. I was not disappointed. I went with three friends who were not vegan but open to eating many types of cuisine. We all loved the food. The food was simply fabulous. We went for the lunch A La Carte menu which was so reasonable in price. We added extra dishes to the lunch as we could not make up our minds which dishes to try. Every dish was beautifully presented. The food tasted exquisite with layers of flavour all carefully balanced. We loved every dish in particular the smoked almonds, the pickles and preserves, the loaded flatbreads and the outstanding winter squash carpaccio. When we finished we immediately wanted to book again for the Masterchef tasting menu. The staff were lovely and helpful, the restaurant simple in decor and cosy. I would highly recommend this restaurant .

First time at No 12. Wonderful food and lovely staff. It was a 40th Anniversary treat (!) and didn't disappoint!

We had the lunch deal. It was excellent.

As much for the eyes as for the taste, it is truly a success. We had a really good time. Vegan cuisine really has nothing to envy of traditional cuisine. The quality of the service is also noteworthy: speed, good humor and kindness for my English which is not always the best.

Really enjoyed the tasting menu with drinks. Some servers were more aware of the menu than others, giving details of the complicated ingredients which really afded to the experience. Others barely remembered anything and tripped over themselves trying to remember what dish was even being put in front of us. I would have preferred if the ones unsure had just slightly set the plate down. But the food was fantastic and the drink pairings worked brilliantly. A really unique tasting menu experience.

The food here is INCREDIBLE. Take your vegan-sceptic meat lover friends and watch them admit that plant based food is great. We even had a baked Camembert and were so surprised at how delicious it was compared to the dairy type. Would 100% recommend this restaurant

Relaxed fine dining in a beautiful building with friendly staff and superb food. Great value and we can't wait to return.
