Recommended so visited on a quiet Monday night(only reason we gave 4 for atmosphere). Very welcoming owner (knowledgable and funny), lovely service and excellent food. Started with poppadums and pickle tray of 6 types rather than the standard 3, then crispy onion bhajis and tender lamb chops-manager suggested these and they were amazing. Side salads were fresh and pickle tray was left on the table, another positive. Our mains were just as good. Lamb pasanda cooked the traditional way with almonds and a chef special lamb dish (zaara I think) both had the same tender lamb and were full of flavour. Will definitely be going again and will recommend to everyone. Big smile 😃

We had a fantastic evening at Saffron Lounge. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine. Saleem, the grandfather of the team, greeted us like family, and we also met his son, Abdul, Mo, and several other team members whose names I wish I could remember. Every one of them was friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding, with rich, authentic flavors, and the service was smooth and effortless. The atmosphere was lively, warm, and inviting—everyone looked genuinely happy, which made for a wonderful dining experience. We came as a group of four adults, along with our 6-month-old daughter, Atlas. Saleem confidently held her, spoke to her, and made her a part of the evening in such a natural way. Different staff members would engage with her, making us feel truly welcome. Atlas was relaxed and happy in his arms, which added to the feeling that we were somewhere special. We’d chosen Saffron Lounge as a convenient halfway point between Barnsley and Huddersfield, hoping for a good meal, and we found so much more than that. We’ll definitely be back!

Well what a fabulous place, everything was perfect, the staff are so friendly, attentive, nothing is too much trouble, 7 of us all had a great time, not one criticism, well done, I will be back. I can't seem to write another review, so I'll so it here, 5 star again, had the Rogan Josh, just wow, the best I've ever had, highly recommend that, can't fault this place at all.

I can not recommend saffron lounge enough. First of all the staff are fantastic and extremely friendly and brilliant with the kids. The atmosphere is very relaxed as if you were in your own home comforts. The food is out of this world. The best curry I have ever tasted the flavours are next level. I have been a handful of times now and tried different dishes and all were beautiful. You will not be disappointed Thankyou salim for a wonderful night.

We arrived on the off chance that we could dine there and although they were fully booked they did their utmost to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. Can't recommend saffron enough, the food is amazing!!! The staff are the nicest people you will meet they can't do enough for you to make you feel welcome which you don't find very often these day. They go above and beyond for you. Definitely the nicest curry house in sheffield and we definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a takeaway or a sit down meal they cater for everyone even when we go with our children they make them feel so welcome wouldn't go anywhere else.

After numerous attempts of finding a nice takeaway curry, I came across Saffron Lounge through recommendation tonight (14.09.24). Safe to say it successfully satisfied my craving for a nice curry. Ordered a few curries for the family and everybody thoroughly enjoyed them plus all the sundries! Couldn’t recommend enough 10/10.

Visiting the area so googled takeaways nearby and this place came out top of the reviews. It did not disappoint. The staff were lovely when we walked in, very welcoming and chatty. Our takeaway order was ready within 20 minutes. It was still really hot when we got back to our hotel and the taste was delicious! The spice level was just as we had asked for. If we ever visit the area again we will be sure to book a table instead of takeout

Very friendly and welcoming, we made a late booking for 2 on a Friday evening and they accommodated us with no problems at all. The food is excellent, perfect portions, the owner greets and talks to everyone including those who have a takeaway, no matter how busy they are. This is our 4th visit and every visit is just as good as the last.

We had a fantastic meal here and received a high level of service from Abdul and his team. They even accommodated a pram which we forgot to mention on the booking so we were extremely grateful. The food was excellent and you could tell it was freshly prepared, even receiving one of the best pickle trays I’ve ever had. This is now our new local curry house and we can’t wait to go back!

We just drop on this lovely restaurant after drop our daughter and boyfriend off at friend in Sheffield. We stop and asked if they could fit us in as it was last minute. Fabulous. My family went for a meal to celebrate our parents wedding anniversary. Everyone enjoyed their meals even the picky people. The food was fresh and hot and very tasty (There were 12 of us). Just discovered this place and it's become our favourite Indian. Food is generous and lovely, staff are absolutely great, and prices considerably cheaper than other places like Akbars, which seems to have suddenly hiked. It's family run, and on our second visit it felt like we were in the family. Can get a bit noisy at busy times - maybe some soft furnishings would help.

This was the best Indian we have had in ages. The host was a complete gentleman and lovely as he couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be going here again.

Had an amazing first visit to Saffron lounge, a late call was made to secure a table of seven, we didn’t think they would be able to accommodate but they did and we weren’t disappointed. From arrival all staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was amazing and service exceptional. We were also celebrating a birthday and they made a fuss of this singing happy birthday and a drink for the birthday girl! 🍹will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend.

Amazing! I’ve been to this take away for years, never a bad meal. They opened the restaurant and again, never a bad meal! I recently had a baby with allergies and I’m feeding her so needed to change my diet. I went in to check what, if anything I could still eat. They went through everything that was safe for me to eat and amended some dishes to make them available to me whilst avoiding the allergens! I was dreading changing my diet cos I thought it was going to be stressful but these guys made my life much easier. Baby has been fine with no allergy issues, showing how much care they’re taking when preparing and cooking my food. I’m so grateful I didn’t have to give my fave food up! 😅

I went with my beautiful family on Christmas day. The food first class as were the great friendly and efficient staff.An all round very good experience and I would definitely re-visit.

This is the 3rd time we have ordered from here. The first time we collected our order, the second time we had it delivered with no issues. This third time has been an absolute joke! Placed the order at 6:20pm and was advised it would be 1 hour. The man on the phone was mishearing everything I said and I repeated my address and telephone number over and over again. He eventually read everything back to me and I was happy everything was right. Fast forward 1hour and 30 minutes and I called the restaurant back for an update. I was spoken to in a very rude manner by somebody on the phone who basically told me (in a raised voice) my postcode was wrong (it obviously is not, I know my own address, and they have delivered here before with no issues) and that I’d given them a wrong number? I did not appreciate the way I was being spoken to at all and felt uncomfortable so I put my partner on the phone who was spoken to in a much better manner. He corrected the phone number they’d clearly written down wrong and confirmed the address, they said they would re-deliver in 15-20 minutes. We called back again after this time when the food still hadn’t been delivered and was told our order was out for delivery. Somebody called just after this to say he was here with our food… in hilsborough! We do not live in hilsborough! They do not listen to the information you give them then try to blame you for it. Will not be ordering again or recommending to anyone, which is a shame as the food is very decent… when you receive it.

Nice atmosphere very nice food and very good service by staff

We booked a table for 16 for a birthday, we was greeted by the owner Abdul on arrival who made us feel welcomed, upon sitting staff was there to get us drinks. A few of us wasn't sure on what to have so Abdual helped and recommended some dishes. Food was to gorgeous and all tasted freshly made. We ordered a couple of kids nuggets, obviously they wanted ketchup so one of girls ran across road for some. Loved the baby guinesses. Reasonable priced if you haven't tried thos little gem you are definitely missing out.

The food was great, it had really inviting staff. It was great to take time and enjoy a meal with my partner. The pricing for the curry and rice were very good for the portions. The only criticism I’d have is probably the price of the drinks and the popadoms. But overall it was brilliant will go again

I cannot fault this place at all. Greeted by the owner as soon as we walked in. You are made to feel like family. The decor is amazing and very good for people with sensory needs. I've edited my review from an earlier one. So, my first visit here was a little underwhelming, not bad, but just... underwhelming. However, on seeing my review, the manager reached out and was very apologetic and insisted on making things right. We ordered again and the food was amazing. The pickle tray was the best I've ever tasted, and our main meals really, really tasty. Lots of depth of flavour. I do accept that my first visit was probably a one off, and would recommend them. I'd definitely order from here again. And other than the food, their customer service is second to none. The restaurant is modern, clean and busy. Thanks for changing my mind. 😊

Sorry to say this , was recommended but bad delay on delivery food was only Luke warm on delivery and delayed by 1/2 hr so disappointed on first experience will probably go back to Cardamon’s in Chapeltown next time, had full apology and and was given full meal totally free the food was fantastic and now will use this great little take away and restaurant on a regular basis thank you to Abdul and team

We ordered a meal for three persons Sunday 13/11/22 staff on phone was very polite & informed me that the waiting time for delivery was 1hour, this was fine with me as I don't think its out of the ordinary. The price per adult was £12 at £36 for the three of us. The portions were as per usual with other takeaways & wasn’t hot but hot enough? However the two kormas didn't have much meat, more sauce than chicken, lamb & a lot of sauce wasted, I had the mixed Tandoori Balti, the chicken in the meal was fine but there were 5 pieces of meat that was very stringy & unchewable & unedable & was left on the side of the plate. Wasn’t impressed with the overall meal or the price, it certainly wasn't worth the £36.10p. If the meal was of a standard where you really enjoy it & the meat within the meal is of good quality & less sauce to hide the fact that there isn't much meat then I would always gladly pay more for my food but when you don't enjoy the food, that's when I say I would not have payed that price for the quality we received for that meal. 25/11/2023 UPDATE on a second review with Saffron Lounge, I phoned at 5.30PM 25/11/2023 & placed an order for delivery for 6.30pm, at 7.00pm still no food so I called them & for some reason they assumed that the order for delivery was at 6.30 was the call & they had the delivery down for 7.30, by now I had gone elsewhere for food & left them to carry out their delivery for 7.30 & turned it away. We will never order from this useless establishment again. Steer clear of this takeaway absolute garbage.

As always Abdul and his team delivered a first class meal and fabulous hospitality. Whether we dine in or take out, it never fails.

Our first visit yesterday. A warm welcome by the staff. We ordered prawn purée and onion bhajis to start, best bhajis we’ve had in a long time, crispy all the way through. Chicken rezalla and Thai king prawn karai mushroom rice and garlic naan for mains. All were very tasty with plenty of chicken and prawns. The owner had a chat with us and the rest of the staff were great. We both really enjoyed our food and would definitely return again.

I have just been to your restaurant after reading good reviews on trip advisor. To say I'm disappointed by your service this evening is an understatemrnt. I ordered bhiryani (chicken), pilau rice and a plain nan. I was asked to sit in the dining area. People have come and gone. 40 minutes later my food was nowhere to be seen. I then decided to politely enquire and the lady who went into the kitchen came out immediately with my food in a plastic bag. And when I have asked why the delay she responded "they forgot"!!!!! All seated customers have been looked after and not even a single one of your staff spoke to me even to ask if I was OK coz if someone had bothered to ask you may have realised my order was ready and waiting. To make it worse I have got home to find the bhiryani and rice is cold and the nan soggy. I am absolutely disappointed! Your customer service could be better!!

We booked a table of four for a Friday night. Firstly, the place has really transformed from the car parts place it used to be! It looks great. We were greeted by the owner and the service and attention was really excellent. Our food was absolutely delicious. The chicken and lamb dishes were superb. Very tasty. Spicing was spot on. I would definitely recommended visiting here, but definitely book ahead as it was busy.

Ordered at 17.45, food delivered at 19.45 approx after a phone call to check on delivery. Food lukewarm. 2 hours for delivery is unacceptable.

First time visit with a group of friends and I will definitely be going back. There was plenty of choice on the menu and very reasonable prices. I had garlic chilli chicken with pilau rice and a garlic naan. Everything was cooked to perfection and it tasted amazing 👏 All the staff and the boss were really friendly and helpful. The shots at the end of the meal were a very nice gesture. Would definitely recommend but make sure you book as it was full.

Really hospitable staff, amazing food. They did make a mistake in throwing away food that we wanted boxing up. But, to rectify that mistake they remade double the quantity that was left to ensure we still went home with our food. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
