Saffron By Paradise in Glasgow City

Great selection of Persian food. Light but very satiating. Lamb from pot just melting in the mouth, spotless shawarma, very nice falafels, wonderful fluffy rice sides. Good for carnivores, vegetarians and vegans. Very attentive staff helpful with everything. And quite affordable as well. Top notch.

The place was nice and busy; the lamb shank recipe needs some revision; the tomoto paste concentration must be reduced significantly ; the taste wasn’t representative of the actual persian stew; the kabab was salty Kaske bademjion was amazing

I feel bad for leaving 2 Star because the food was 5 star, but the staff very unwelcome and full of gossiping about customers and myself I do philosophy and I know what I am, I am the person who asked you at the door if you are the owner. And they talking and laughing loudly just like they hanging out in a pub. The atmosphere was perfect apart from their sound in the background You can’t even have a quality conversation with their sound in the background. From the minute we walked in I said hello in Iranian and was a very cold response to the point they want me to feel bad in front of my wife, who is Persian, but me and my Mrs we have fun for the ones who do this. For the fact, I left all my favourites Middle Eastern cuisine in Glasgow who make me feel welcome and just like being at Home. And the choice of the table they were all empty. I know there is a booking system but she gave me the worst table under the heater which is totally made me uncomfortable. For the fact, every other customer came in, she gave them a choice from which table to which they like to sit. Totally ignorant and I was full of shame, for trying a different cuisine that makes me feel unwelcome. But thanks, I’ll stick to my culture food, and my Persian wife love it. Thanks to the chef for the food it’s perfect ❤️.

While the food can be quite good, the service can be and (on two separate occasions) has been quite bad. Severs were too impatient to provide clear information and managed not to hear specific requests regarding preferences. There are too many other excellent middle eastern restaurants to return to Saffron.

Everything about this place is just really good. The Middle Eastern starters were excellent and we then shared the ‘mini’ sharing platter for two - it was brilliant but far from mini! In the end we made total gluttons of ourselves and there was some left over. We loved Saffron By Paradise and will definitely visit again next time we’re in Glasgow.

Okay service I suppose, but food was a let down. Kebabs were dry and tasteless and just looked like everything had been slapped on the plate when it arrived. Naan bread was hardly even warm. Expensive for mediocre food.

We went to saffron as a family as we had people visiting from down south. The food was some of the best we have had recently. The shawarmas were delicious and every dip we ordered was outstanding. The food was perfect for everyone to share and had a little bit of everything. We paired the food with a bottle of white and a red, which were both lovely too. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and the atmosphere was great as well. The best bit was at the end- when we were presented with the bill. The value for money in this place is unmatched in glasgow and we will definitely be back! For our party of 7- it averaged out at £35 a head and that was including service charge. Incredible value for money. We will definitely be back!!!

Don’t normally leave reviews but this restaurant is amazing and deserves one - the staff are some of the nicest people I’ve ever encountered and the service never fails! The food is always top tier, everything is so tasty and fresh - my favourite restaurant in Glasgow! Highly recommend!

My 2 grown up kids too me here for a Father’s Day treat. I’d seen very good reviews on Instagram. What a lovely experience! The decor set the scene nicely. And then the food! We went for a large selection of the mazzeh (smallish sharing plates) as none of us have eaten Iranian food before and wanted to sample as many as possible. Wow! All the dishes - ranging from hummus (not like any hummus I’d had before) to pistachio, beetroot and tomatoey aubergine dips to sumac prawns to spicy wings and shawarma lamb were superb. And the dolmeh… yum! And bejewelled rice… and falafel.. Didn’t have any of the larger plates although they looked and smelled seriously good as they passed our table for other guests. Service was very good - informal and friendly. Will be back very soon!

I have been here multiple times. The quality of the Persian food they serve here is absolute brilliant. Amazing flavours of the starters, bejewelled rice a must try and a wagon load of top dishes mostly chicken and lamb. Enough said it inspired me to buy 2 Persian cook books and now enjoying this amazing food also at home. A must go to restaurant in Glasgow.

Drove 2 hours to get here. Was running late and asked to change the booking for half an hour later, that was refused and said they can do 15 minutes ( as if we are at some bazaar ). At arrival we found out we’ve got an hour and 15 minutes to order food, eat it all and leave as they’ve got reservations. I’ve never been told over the phone that there’s a time limit. The service was super slow too. Finished up booking a table at another Persian restaurant close by to get a full experience and not rush. The aura in the restaurant is super heavy and unpleasant. Don’t come if you’re sad.

Very Authentic Arabic/ Persian food. Good service , very well priced wines. Bistro style seating. I have spent 20 years working in the Middle East & this was one of the best Middle Eastern meals I have had. It’s a gem of the restaurant. The table next to us was a group of Omani students & they , while also being really lovely people , thought the food was great , as was the tea. Fantastic value for the money. If you have not tried this style of cooking, this is the best place to start. We were shown it by our adult offspring. What a find. Next time we are visiting, we will definitely return to try more of the wonderful small plates. It’s so convivial to share them .

My wife took me to Saffron by Paradise at the end of July, she had visited 2 days beforehand and knew I would love the food. The place itself is relatively small and intimate (approx 40 covers). On entry the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the place has a very chilled atmosphere with beautiful food smells. We ordered Sumac Prawns & Chicken Tond for starters and shared both. Both dishes were amazing however if I had to choose I would say the prawns won, the flavours are outstanding. For main I ordered the mixed Kebab, it comes with rice, onions , pickle and bread. Once again the food was at another level and the taste and flavours - wow. In my opinion the food is reasonably priced and this is a restaurant I will definitely return to and I have already recommended it to lots of family & friends.

A group of 6 of us walked into Saffron based on a recommendation by TripAdvisor, after our first choice had a 20-30 minute wait. All I can say is that I’ve literally eaten at hundreds of Lebanese, Syrian, Turkish and Iranian restaurants through the years, and this is one of the best. Every dish dazzled with fresh tastes, whether the dishes were meat or vegetables, appetizers or main courses. The service was excellent as well, helping us with recommendations as to their favorite dishes on the menu. We’ll definitely return on our next trip to Glasgow!

I was blown away by the food here! I loved absolutely everything we tried - the shawarma was incredible and the fried aubergine was one of my highlights too. The menu has so many dishes to chose from, I will be going back to try more! Very friendly staff, and nice cosy atmosphere.

Behest...... Changed decor. No more inside waterfall with fish. Cheaply done in laminate. Joinery work poor. Food good but missing something from the old behest. Salad not as varied, smaller portions of rice and meat. Just not as good as the old behest.

Amazing lunch from start to finish. Friendly staff, nice restaurant, but the star was of course the food. Everything we ordered (and we probs ordered slightly too much) was nicely presented and tasted lovely. Absolutely worth a visit and we will definitely be going back!

I’ve wanted to visit for a few years now and finally got a trip to Glasgow. The decor is lovely and comfortable. The waiter, Pedro was very friendly and chatty. I had the trio of dips which were all amazing and ate with hot Naan bread. Then I had the special kebab, which was a skewer of chicken and lamb. Both were really delicious and I can’t work out how they get the rice so light and fluffy. Was really full, but couldn’t resist the saffron and pistachio ice cream. Can’t wait to come back and try some more of the menu.

Visited last night for the first time. As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted with very friendly staff. The food was amazing and very reasonably price. When the foods was brought to the table there was also small sachets of spices and dips and also butter. The waiter advised us to add the butter to the saffron rice - absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be coming back.

This restaurant is very local to us but we'd never tried it before a friend recommended it. Very glad he did as we had a lovely meal, although we ordered a bit too much food because we had rather underestimated the size of the portions. We enjoyed lovely dips and the lamb kebab was perfectly tender. The sumac prawns were a particular treat. Service was friendly and helpful.

Excellent food and newly decorated place..Went after lockdown and this place was refurbished and ohh wow food is good as before. Had our usual Mumtaz and it was so good.. They changed the menu and many things have changed.
