Damasqino restaurant & cafe in Glasgow City

We dropped in for lunch, the food was superb. It's a basic cafe / takeaway and it was a bit drafty being January. No licence, so soft drinks and tea and coffee. We got a little complimentary plate of gorgeous soup to start and we ordered the Hummus Awarma and Moussaka from the Hot Meze section. The hummus came with flatbread and the moussaka came with rice. The moussaka was quite different, lovely soft aubergines ans very "tomatoey", with no bechamel sauce. Delicious light lunch.

Great find for dinner. Lebanese restaurant right on Saltmarket, nice mixed menu, food was very good in terms of choice and quality, friendly staff and prices were ok. Doesn’t serve alcohol so soft drinks only

The food was good, as were the prices. But I won't be going back due to the very unwelcoming and almost hostile attitude of the staff. They guy making my food at the counter clearly had a problem serving me and made it obvious with his passive aggressive attitude. I considered walking out of the shop before he finished making my food. You can see why Shwarama King round the corner is packed and this place is dead. I won't be going back or recommending.

Disappointing Service Led to Cancelled Order at Demosqino Restaurant. My visit to Demosqino Restaurant was so negatively impacted by the service that I felt compelled to cancel my order. The staff's rudeness and unresponsiveness were not only off-putting but also created a deeply unwelcoming atmosphere. Waiting for a considerable amount of time only to be met with such disappointing service exacerbated my frustration. This experience not only wasted my time but also left me feeling disrespected and undervalued as a customer. It's unfortunate that the poor service overshadowed what could have been a pleasant dining experience.

Absolutely fantastic food will definitely recommend and return. Food was delicious and the staff attentive. What a wonderful find in Glasgow 10+

We happened to find this place when looking for somewhere to eat on a day out to Glasgow. We love Lebanese food and we were not disappointed! Everything we ate was fresh tasty and well presented - uncomplicated, good value delicious food. What more could you want?

My 7 year old son and I popped in here after playing at Glasgow Green. We shared a lovely mixed starter and a warm lamb side. The humus and the selection of salads, with the flat bread, was great. The serves was also friendly towards us both. Reasonable portion sizes and price. We’ll visit again :-)

This was my first time visitng this place. It was suggested by a friend and immediately felt like I was in someone's home kitchen. The restaurant is small but very much worth the visit! The food is fresh and fairly quick to be served. I had the humous chicken shawarma with a side of chips. The humous was fresh and the pickled veg was a nice touch. They offered a free soup to start, which was a pleasant surprise. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a more laid back 'home' vibe cooking feel. And the prices were extremely reasonable for the portion sizes. My only negative comments would be: We booked the table for 5pm which is early for dinner time and they were out of a lot of food items already. They didn't have lamb dishes, no milk tea, no pistachio milkshakes. I completely understand that restaurants have limited stock, but my friend who eats here regularly says they always run out of lamb before they can visit. So, I'd say expect items to not be available! The staff is pretty non-existent after taking your order so you'll have to either stand up or go out of your way to grab someone's attention. Otherwise, pleasant experience if you want to try some new cuisine.

The best in town i really recommend it the lentil complementary soup and chicken shawarma is amazing lovely staff as well

A first time visit,suggested by a friend.A new experience..Lebonese/Syrian food.I opted for the chicken shawarama(?).I have to say that I have never gone on line to make a complaint..about anything,ever.The staff were pleasant,we were served a complimentary lentil soup,very nice it was.But..I have to say-the food was dire.Honestly..dry chicken..bits,dry multi- coloured rice.Two shall containers with a smidgen of garlic mayonnaise,and I Jean.. a tiny amount!- the other with even less.All..totally laden with salt.I have never done this sort of on line complaining before- I felt ill after eating even some of the food,It be that there was(far too much salt!).Be wary though! (The lassi was good !).

We had really high hopes for this place and had been wanting to visit for a while. We pass it regularly and it’s always busy. Sadly we won’t be back. As soon as we walked in the waitress looked at us like we were an inconvenience, didn’t say anything and we had to ask if they were open. She said yes and gestured to the restaurant area where we presumed we had to find out own table, which was fine as it wasn’t busy. Even though the initial first impression wasn’t great, we had high hopes for the food. To start on a positive, our starters were nice. I had deep fried spinach and cheese pastry and my partner had houmus with Lebanese bread which was lovely. They brought our mains out at the same time as the starters which wasn’t ideal since they’d be cold by the time we got to them. If this is the way things are traditionally served then fine, but maybe give people the option of having their main server after the starter given that they’re divided on the menu into starters and mains, and so giving the impression that they’d be served one after the other. My partner had the chicken shawarma and I had the halloumi meal which was 5 slices of grilled halloumi alongside some pickled veg. No chips, no rice, no dip etc I could hardly swallow it it was so dry. My partners chicken shawarma although quite tasty he said, also had no sauce and was dry as hell. We had a garlic dip on the side which was nice but the mains definitely need some moisture. We didn’t bother with a dessert, which was fine because the waitress didn’t check on us at all and wasn’t attentive. Again, she acted like we were an inconvenience when we asked for the bill. We won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.

Was with a group of 7 and all the food we ordered was delicious. The staff were helpful and friendly. It is a small venue and was very busy so recommend booking. Will definitely be back.

Terrible experience at this resteraunt. Had to ask if it was open as it was empty got a nod from a girl who was standing at the door. We sat for ages being ignored. Eventually came to take our order to be told ..no coffee no milk ..no lamb we should have left at that point ... All our food was served at the same time so by the time we ate our starter the main meal was frozen .. We were charges for the coffee we never received .. I would never go back almost racism as we are white considered making a complaint to trading standards..about the way we where treated. Would stay clear we were ripped off

The kitchen is top-notch; great food, no sort-cuts from authenticity, brilliantly presented. This was our second visit and we will be back. The service is excellent but on top of all that is the friendly atmosphere and the welcome from everyone there. A really enjoyable eating experience.
