Saffron in Havering

Good food in very pleasant surroundings, with attentive service. At a very reasonable price the menu is varied and the food of a consistently good standard. The staff are friendly but efficient. I have used Saffron more recently for takeaways, usually going in person, ordering on the spot and waiting for it to be cooked. Depending on how busy they are, this takes 20 to 30 minutes. You can of course order on line or by phone. The food is is of the same high standard and if you collect in person you can always have beer while you are waiting.

One of the best Indians we have had in a long time . Lovely and fresh . The only down side was the flat coke but that’s just minor . Would definitely recommend

Came here recently on a reccomendation. Clearly the restaurant was short staffed as we waited a long time for food. The restaurant appeared to be popular for delivery which left us feeling abit neglected sitting in. Curries didn't have much flavour to them, no spice at all. The garlic naan was nice but bombay potatoes tasted water logged.

One man and his frying pan. Went here over the weekend for a family meal, one of the starters was missed off. So left to wait a long time for it to arrive. Luckily I had the phone ringing constantly so I had something to listen to while waiting. When the main course turned up, tikka masala it was bland, sag paneer was bland and fried Calamari contained onions and prawns, not on menu… complained and was told 10% off for warm food; disappointing.

This restaurant is the best. Delicious Indian dishes are prepared.

Out enjoying Bank holiday weekend & nowhere was open any later - except these guys & lucky for us it was, exceeded expectations! Good alcohol selection, Cobra & Kingfisher on draught, so much choice, all food so fresh & aromatic , not the usual curry fayre that we are used to, staff are brilliant attentive & came with refills before you had to ask. Think more intimate, subtle lighting, ideal for date night, or family get togethers.

Order placed at 22.38 by mistake from Deliveroo, called restauraurant at 22.40 requesting to cancel and they refused straightaway saying order is already getting ready and half way through. Superchef received and started preparing within a minute. Deliveroo refused to help. After waiting more than an hour, I tried calling restaurant to chase up order and to my surprise the restaurant already closed at 23.00. Again, contacted Deliveroo who cancelled the order finally. Horrible experience with Saffron and Deliveroo. Avoid...

I ordered food from here last night and I am so happy that I did. What delicious spectacular food. You can smell authentic spices and taste them. Worth every single penny. Visitied the restuarant for the first time and it won't be the last! Firstly, the staff were most welcomming and made sure the entire experience was enjoyable. The food was superb - we tried a few different dishes plus some vegetable sides so to taste a variety of flavours. Chicken Madras, Karahi, Rogon were all authentic, seasoned to perfection plus piping hot. Recommend the Bhindi (Okra) Bhaji as a side dish for any of the above! Looking forward to the next visit! 5-star rating and most deserved. Exceptional food and fantastic service. By far the best Dhansak (Chicken) I've eaten! Varied menu meant that we could order quite a lot of different starters and sides to go with the mains too. All friends more than happy with their meals. Overall - perfect, great stuff guys! Will visit again very soon!

Best Asian food this part of London

Went out to Saffron to celebrate my nephews becoming a teenager, saw reviews and decided to give it a go and was not disappointed the food was excellent and so was the service had a variety of dishes, chicken tikka, lamb curry, mixed grill, paneer, maliy kofte, will definitely be visiting there again.

Was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. Admittedly service was a bit slow but can’t fault the food when it arrived

Always great tasting food. Family run business and the chef (Shobit) always has time to come out and say hello. Price is best I have seen locally.

Its my first time coming to this restaurant in Rush Green! I can say, I am so amazed by their company, food is absolutely brilliant with a reasonable price! Good music too! I understand from the owner that the Restaurant is now under new Management, and I can say confidently that they have delivered the change exceptionally well. This was evident when other customer who reviewed said there is a change in management. Service: Excellent customer services by the front staff and at Reception. The first impression is the most important part in Restaurant Industry and the staff at front nailed it. The front staff welcome us with a warm smile and take us to the table. Throughout the time we spend in restaurant Front Staff and Reception team constantly keep us updated with our order. The staff were Polite and so engaging, you cannot give less than a 5 Star. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. The staff truly cares about customer experience. Food: This was our first time we visited the place and were not sure about the quality. But I must say the quality was OUTSTANDING. Each and every item we ordered looked so fresh and was hot as one have it in their own home. The food portion was more than enough, warmness of food kept the taste alive, and definitely authentic Indian taste. I bet you will not miss the taste of restaurant in India. Price: Looking to the food portion and the price I can definitely say it’s quite reasonable. It only cost us £28 for 3 people, including starter and main. I mean what else one can expect, and remember the key here was that the food quality was par excellent. Location: The restaurant is on Rush Green road. The parking is free on near by street after 6.30pm so it suits if anyone planning to go for Dinner. I would like everyone who reads my review to visit the place and witness the taste of the food and service. Also, it is under new management so worth giving try to see what hard work the new team has put into it. I would like to come back here again and again. I recommend to everyone!

Food is tasty and not to oily friendly service

I have enjoyed this restaurant on the outskirts of Romford town for over 10 years. It is in quieter Rush Green, and parking would be on the residential streets around. The restaurant has changed management during the COVID years, but it still very successfully offers intimacy, attentive service and great food. In my most recent visit with a family member, and it was the simple things that really impressed me, like the taste and quality of their cooked rice - it was colourfully seasoned yet the rice could be tasted, non-oily, and with just the right balance of firmness and give. A real pleasure dining with Saffron.

Eaten here for years ordering same dishes for years rang my order in tonight to be told I aint cooking that we are to busy I've spent £1000s here over the years. I will NEVER use you again from this rudeness. You've just lost my custom There's enough indians about to spend my money else where

Havent been here for a while and i must say the food is really good! New owners since i last visited here and the service and food has definitely improved. Ordered a dish that wasnt on the menu and it wasnt any trouble for them - really tasty and a good size portion! Great value. Wont be long till a return visit

We have dined in and had takeaways delivered. Very friendly and efficient can't fault the food, very flavoursome. No problem booking a table, deliveries have all arrived within time frame given.

Just received a takeaway from here for five of us. We all said it's the worst Indian we've ever had. Tandoori mixed grill tasted nothing like tandoori, no way was it cooked in the traditional way. Keema nan was bland. Hardly any meat on the lamb chops and the little that was on there was as rough as an old boot. Korma was awful. To top it off spent £55 and never even got any popadoms. Dreadful, never use again.

Amazing authentic Indian Food. The best takeaway we had in Romford or Dagenham. We ordered chicken biryani and tandoori chicken. Good customer service too. We also ordered indo Chinese food via just eat twice, that too was great.

Attended a family party here last night. (17/08/2020) The food was delicious, service was faultless. I can't really single out a particular dish because all the food was lovely, but if I really had to pick one thing, the chicken tikka starter really stood out for me. Tender, juicy chicken, delicately flavoured, and melt in the mouth. If I lived closer, I would be a regular, but if I'm ever in the area, this is my "go to" place. Well done Saffron, you nailed it!

I always go there to sit down or a takeaway. I went there last nite and found out its under new management. I ordered a vindaloo and other bits what i normally get but the prices have gone up by alot and the vindaloo wasn't even hot its like eating a korma . I wont be going back there anymore.

This is one of my favourite place now, to go for dine and for any other celebration. We celebrated our friend's bday today. The food was yum 😋 specially KALAUNGI BAINGAN. I found that rare taste. Go and try that rare taste you will never get anywhere else.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT .. I just ordered a takeaway from here and I rated it 1 star as I couldn't put none. Without doubt the worst Indian I have ever had. I ordered a Korma how can you mess that up!! It was so salty, not coconuty just think gloopy and vile!! This has just been taken over so ignore all the past reviews from months ago. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

This is one of the best Indian Restaurant I ate great food. Staff very friendly and very helpful too. Food is amazing 😉 it’s the first time I ate the best Biryani’s after tried to many other Indian restaurants, that lamb was perfectly cooked. Saag Aloo is another great 👍 plate and different from other restaurant. It’s just delicious 🤤 food. I would 💯% recommend this restaurant.

I recently went to this new indian restaurant and I have to say the food was incredible the food was authentic indian food which reminded me of india I would highly the chicken jalfrezi which was exquisite and amazing I would highly recommend this restaurant

It a very small restaurant, but still very fancy and professional. The food here is great and in large proportion. Every five I have left, it was on a completely full stomach. The staff is very professional and friendly, very willing to help you with a recommendation. They have plenty of delicious spicy food and plenty of non spicy dishes. If you live near by I highly recommend this place

This Restaurant we usually visit annually for family occasions, Visited this resturant for a family birthday, arrived at 7pm waited hours for food. We where one of the first tables to arrive and the last to leave. Waiters competely ignored our table only coming to our table when we comtinutely asked for service. Didnt actualy get our starter until 9.30pm and to top it off we waited an additional hour for our mains, we ended up leaving at 11.30pm. The waiters brought out our dinner plates and the majority of my family recieved dirty plates which had on splats of curry and where greasy, which the waiter had attempted to wipe off with a tea towel before placing down, he explained that this was a dishwasher issue but he was wiping those same plates and he obviously saw that they where not clean. another member of my family requested a clean plate two times, botge where dirty and the third time was acceptable. Just to note the starters of vegetable and meat samosa's where bland. When our mains finally arrived a few dishes where stone cold, my cousin ordered a tandoori chicken that was over cooked, tough and had a Suspicious black Chunk included with his chicken, when he questioned the manager he stated that he wasnt sure what it was and that it could be some other type of meat. My aunt ordered a biriyani which came out stone cold, we flagged this with the waiter and he said that he would microwave it, we dont know how long they had the batch of biriyani and everyone knows that reheating rice is a big no, and we dont know how long they had kept that batch of biriyani for doubt it was fresh. Totally ridiculous that they did not offer her a fresh dish, she refused to eat it and that was taken back along with a few dishes that our party refused, obviously we know that all food wont come at one time but by the time side dishes had arrived to accompany our mains they where cold. The waiters kept missing off dishes and drinks that we ordered, my cousin in laws mum waited over 45mins for a lemonade and many of us had to constantly remind the waiters for our drinks By the end of the night everyone was completely fed up as the level and lack of servuce ruined my cousins birthday celebrations. When we tried to talk to the manager about our lack of service and our experience he bacame very belligerent and irate with our table, and refused to accept that the majority of the food provided to our table was not up to par and the service was non existent. Because the service was an aboslute shambles we asked for a discount for our table, as it was not fair to pay full price for the experience that we had endured that night, he removed two dishes from the bill, not all of the dishes that we had requested to send back. That was not adequate enough as the majority of our table had issues with their meals. Also one of the waiters that was serving another table dropped a bowl of curry over my uncles traniers and jeans. Broken pieces of plate went everywhere narrowly missing the small one year old asleep in the pram. Totally unacceptable did not receive an apology from the restaurant, after the experience they still expected full bill. Also ruined the suprise that we had a special cake made for her birthday. She was very upset and contacted us after to apologise for the poor evening that we had experienced in saffron. Summing it up our family will not be visting this restruant , we wouldnt like for someone elses night at his venue to go the same way that ours did. You completely ruined our cousins birthday meal. Word of advice of you cannot handle a full resturant and large bookings then dont accept them, it was a absolute shambles. After years of attending in large parties we will no longer be attending The resturant. We can find somehwere that has far more competent and equipped to handle larger parties.

Awful service and food. Meals were served on dirty plates and took hours to arrive. Some peoples food was burnt and the staff were extremely rude and combative when addressed. Avoid you will waste your evening and your money. Worst service I have ever had

GOT HOME "KNOCK KNOCK" DRIVER FROM SAFFRON WE UNDERCHARGED YOU AND THERE TAKING IT OUT MY WAGES SO I GAVE THE 20 QUID EXTRA AND NEVER WENT BACK ALTHOUGH I ALREADY PAID 104POUNDS DIDNT WANT ANYONE LOSING THERE WAGES FOR 5 ADULTS AND 1 KID PURE PURE SCUMBAGS

Food was nice. After arguing with the man who answers the telephone for my 20% discount which I am entitled to After making an order that exceeds £30, they left out my lamb chops to make up the difference after still charging me for them. After I tried to call them back they ignored my call.
