COSMO All You Can Eat World Buffet Restaurant | Romford in Havering

We had been to Cosmo in Edinburgh and really enjoyed it, so we came to the Romford branch expecting a similar experience. Unfortunately, it was nothing like that. Most of the food was cold, soggy and completely lacked flavor. The biggest issue was the chicken - I tried three different chicken dishes, and all of them were undercooked. The texture was awful, like chewing on raw muscle. This was honestly one of the worst buffet experiences I have had. Please avoid this place. It’s nothing but a disappointment.

I absolutely love this COSMO!!! I have been going to this place since I was little, from birthdays to dates! The food is so good and flavoursome! Don't worry! There are soooooooo many options of food to eat from! Even if you are a picky-eater, there's loadddssss of options! Desserts like fruits, cakes, sweets and chocolate! Main foods like Chinese stir fry, chicken nuggets, pizza and sushi! Drinks like fanta, cocktails, teas, Coca-Cola and beer! The service is amazing, as you enter the doors the staff are there to welcome you. It's easy to get a table. To pay for your food is easy; you look at the drinks menu first, then you pick your drinks (tap water is free) and you can get bottomless drinks (£3.95), then you pay for your drinks and meal (£20.99 (this was on a Tuesday at 7:02pm, prices are different))- then you can eat asuch as you want! The toilets are up stairs, and the disabled toilets are down stairs. The atmosphere is warm and cosy with a jazz vibe! You have a 90 minute time to eat there (perfect for kids, teens and adults at any eating pace!) I really enjoyed my times eating there and definitely will be coming back! 😌

Food is alright, but prices are too high especially for children

The variety of dishes was impressive, but the dessert options could use some improvement. Overall, the experience was decent, though I found the pricing for kids and drinks to be on the higher side. If you're planning to have multiple drinks, opting for the bottomless option is definitely more worthwhile than purchasing them individually.

Excellent presentation and delicious food Fresh vegetables and tender meat made up the main course, which was bursting with flavor. The seasoned vegetables and roasted potatoes were particularly delicious as sides. Everything was prepared and hot. Clear safety signs and a tidy setup. I had a great meal and would definitely return .

A very rude staff member doesn't know how to speak with staff. I complained to the manager and the manager said he knows that staff member is a trouble maker and would do nothing about it. Absolutely horrible experience. I would not ever go back!

I wouldn't go there! Ever again. You are provided with limited food choices. You also don't get value for money. Never again. This is my second Cosmo and the decline is obvious. Not for me and if you like a variety,please try another buffet. This was just dull.with very substandard food for over 20 pounds.

A good food experience. A very large buffet offering all you can eat for a very reasonable price. Starters, mains and desserts with different cuisines. The food quality was generally good, apart from the pizza that looked cheap and cooked from frozen. The desserts options were good, offering ice cream, mini cakes and a chocolate fountain with fruit.

Cosmo is absolutely awesome! One of the best things is how easy it is to get as much food as you want—everything is always fully stocked. Today at 2.30pm I visited Cosmo and i had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The variety and quality of the food were outstanding - everything was fresh, well-presented I, and packed with flavor. What truly made the experience memorable, though, was the staffs especially Ivan,They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Even during busy periods, they remained professional and made sure guests were comfortable and looked after. We went to this outlet of the Cosmo with a lot of expectations after our incredible experience at their Manchester restaurant. But we were disappointed and how. The menu is not the same as other Cosmos ( which is a bummer coz it makes no mention of this on their websites ) The Tepanyakki counter is just so time consuming with one person on the grill and a very very long wait time to be served. The starters are cold and soggy with the top items just not being refilled for more than 30 minutes. This is on a weekday with half the restaurant empty so I can only imagine how weekends are. Horrible experience. Has rotted my previous memory and experience of the Manchester dinner too. Never going back here again.

I had a great experience dining there with my family, many varieties of food and drinks but the only minus is the fact that the fried shrimps was always empty

Very unhygienic. Kids are licking ice cream cones and dipping into chocolate fountain that everyone is sharing. Absolutely disgusting! Please don't eat there the food is dry and bland.

Overall a disappointing experience. We had a 19:15 booking, but ended up having to get all our desserts before they cleared the buffet so all the ice cream melted while we were still eating mains. There was a VERY limited variety of desserts and the soft serve ice cream was cheap and flavourless. Big chunks of jelly also flavourless. Also a limited variety savory foods available, with the exception of Asian and Indian dishes, which had a fair selection. Quality and flavour could use improvement. Compared to the other buffet restaurants we have tried this was a big let down and we probably won't be returning. On a positive note, most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

One Star - Food Served Cold & Rude Management at Cosmo Buffet I had an extremely disappointing experience at Cosmo Buffet. A number of the hot dishes were served well below the legal temperature, which is not only unacceptable but also a serious food safety hazard that can lead to foodborne illnesses. When I brought this to the attention of the manager—a Chinese lady with a bob cut—she was incredibly standoffish and dismissive. Her rude body language made it clear she didn’t want to deal with the complaint seriously. While I was eventually given a refund, it was done without a single word of apology. She didn’t even have the decency to speak to me directly—she sent a member of staff to issue the refund instead. For a place that presents itself as a premium buffet experience, this was completely unacceptable. I strongly urge Cosmo to review its food safety practices and customer service training—before someone gets ill.

Very disappointing – I will not return. We went to Cosmo in Romford for the first time, and unfortunately, the experience was terrible. We arrived around 8:15 PM and were told that the buffet would close at 8:20 PM. While they were polite in informing us, it immediately put us under pressure. The food was below expectations — the meat, for example, was impossible to chew. We had to rush through our meal while the staff kept watching us, making us feel very uncomfortable. It felt like they wanted us to leave as soon as possible, even though we were told the restaurant only closes at 9:30 PM. We left disappointed, with a lot of food left on our plates because we simply couldn’t enjoy it. It was supposed to be a special moment — my daughter’s birthday — but it was completely ruined. I do not recommend this place and will definitely not be coming back.

Cosmo as a brand is great , I’ve been to other branches many times and I’ve enjoyed myself. This one was good too just a couple of small suggestions: 1. If they could keep the food a little warmer, it’d be great. 2. The toilets are really stinky. They’re not dirty, just need better air filters.

Can't go wrong, children also enjoy as there is a chocolate fountain available. Food have so many flavours ans options. Plus nice to go with friends and family and halal options available

Almost Twice the price of Toby Carvery next door, but with at least 5 times the selection of food. The service was efficient and friendly, the food great. I went for dinner, so it was very busy, but not to the point of generating any serving lines. I'd definitely eat here again.

I went for dinner with my family, although they close at 9:30 PM on Sunday, most of the food including desserts were all packed up and closed around 8:15 PM. I've been going here for a long time. It really is a world buffet. They give you 1:30hr, but I've never been kicked out. The menu can get a bit boring, over time. The kids absolutely love it. To quote my son, "We're eating like kings"

Nice place to dine with family for a decent buffet. Had a good variety of Chinese food and desserts. Children would specially enjoy as they have unlimited pizza, chicken nuggets and Chinese starters. Indian food is not great , in fact very minimal, there was some chicken tikka but it ran out soon. The ambience is good, spacious. Quiet pricey for around 21 pounds but you don't have much of these buffet options in London for such a price so a good place to eat once in a while and that too within a mall.

However, when we arrived, we were told that we only had an hour before we needed to leave, which felt a bit unnecessary. I understand if it was extremely busy, but throughout our visit, at least half the restaurant remained empty. This made the time restriction feel a little off-putting and added some pressure to what should have been a relaxed dining experience. That being said, we still really enjoyed the food and the overall atmosphere. If they were a bit more flexible with their time limits, especially when it’s not packed, it would make the experience even better. Despite this, we would still return because the food quality and selection are excellent.

Poor vegetarian selection. Indian curries were terrible. Cleaning trolley in buffet area. Not many starters & dessert selection can be bigger. It's not worth the price & they add 3% service charge to bill though there is no service to table really. Crowded too.

The standard in Romford has really dipped, very bad and disappointing , the staff customer service is so poor the named manager Dipesh and George who said I am the only Chinese here. We got told we can only have 1hr for a birthday dinner, queried why it wasn’t advised or in their policy. Rudely stated we make that decision it’s busy. The behaviour and attitude was shocking. I am never ever going back there anymore. A new better competitor need to come on board and take them out of business. Following up with reporting them to trading standard . The two named need to demoted they are not a good representatives of the business.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service my group and I received during our visit today. We were a large group and fully aware of the 1 hour and 30-minute dining limit. However, after just 45 minutes, we were asked to leave, which was both unexpected and unacceptable. To make matters worse, the manager, Ivan, was extremely rude and disrespectful in his communication. His approach was unprofessional and made our experience unpleasant. A restaurant's success depends not just on its food but also on how it treats its customers, and unfortunately, our experience tell far below expectations. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, and I would appreciate a response regarding how this will be addressed. I believe every customer deserves to be treated with respect, and I hope no one else has to experience this kind of service.

Used to be alot nicer. Shocked that my 11yo niece has been charged adult price. Long wait for fresh seafood and the portions are ridiculously small. The fried prawns recipient is always empty. The same with buffalo wings. Very busy and loud atmosphere. I'm afraid for us it's not worth it anymore.

This is the worst food I have ever eaten anywhere! It’s hard to see how someone could mess up a butter chicken, Well, congratulations, Cosmo, You have. The meat is very low quality. The sushi is dry. The dim sum has hardly any filling and is again dry. Will not be going again. It’s not for me. 😞

I had an absolutely brilliant time at this place! The food was spot on—especially the Sweet & Sour Chicken and Beijing Ribs. Everything was super clean and the atmosphere was just right for a relaxed meal. The service was top-notch, making the whole experience even better. I can’t wait to come back again, but I'd love to see some chicken in yellow bean sauce on the menu next time!

I celebrated my birthday here with my kids and my friends. We had a very nice time. Food was delicious and plenty of choices. The customer service was great! Dessert was yummy too. Definitely worth it. Highly recommended.

Food and customer service was excellent.

This cosmos was quite a suprise. The suprise is how small it was. You can see all the available seats. The bar is about the size of a single bedroom. The food area is a large living room area. The main cuisine was Indian and Chinese with both giving a good range of dishes as you would expect. The rest were a ragtag bunch. Sushi and veg was about 3 dishes each. The fried food corner was actually pretty good, I rate the food well there. There was a roast dinner corner, pizza corner and about 3 other single dish per cuisines. They did have the fresh food counter where the chef cooks to order shrimps, oysters, beef etc. that was it. The dessert section was decent, choco fountain, hot and cold desserts. Other than it being small, the service was fast and good. Though if you sit anywhere near the entrance, there is a cold draft every time the entrance door opens. The food is what you'd expect, there are some well cooked food and others bland and cold.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE FOOD IS NOT FRESH SOMETHING IS WRONG EVERY TIME AT COSMO. WHEN I'M GOING AND IT'S ALREADY HAPPENING 3. We feel bad

The standard has dropped as compared to 2 years back. They intentionally hold back on some food even though they call it buffet. I.e. fried shrimps 🍤

I’d like to point out that the issue likely stemmed from staff members fearing the consequences of breaking rules or being flexible, possibly due to pressure from upper management. In some situations, depending on the context, I believe it wouldn’t hurt to adjust the rules to accommodate certain customers. In my case, the staff member who served me appeared hesitant to bend the rules, possibly due to fear of repercussions, which may have led to a strict response, though it could have been unintentional. Rather than reprimanding staff, it might be more beneficial to establish a tone of flexibility/malleablity from the top down. Just my two cents. Thank you again for your response.

I like the food is the best service is excellent

This is not a restaurant. It’s a canteen. You’ll be seated next to a family with screaming children and a bunch of people loudly talking on their phone. Ok if you just want to get stuffed. Not ok if you are expecting a restaurant atmosphere
