Sabza Indian Restaurant & Takeaway in South Somerset

The food was brilliant. The restaurant has great atmosphere and looks beautiful with nice music. Only problem is that the staff are quite rude at times and make you not feel welcome. Would still recommend.

Excellent food and plentiful. Beautiful restaurant. Gave only 3 stars because it was very noisy and the female member of staff had very long hair which was not tied back and dangled over the plates when she served! Will stick to takeaway.

Called in on our way home and surprised to see there were lots of empty tables. Served when appropriate, given time to nip for a bottle of wine at booths!! Excellent service, delicious food and cannot complain. Back soon and keep doing what you do!!!

Hi after a recommendation from a friend to order a chicken wrap I done so I ordered the special wrap, well when it came there was nothing special about it it came with donner meat and chicken tikka let me tell you the donner meat was cut really thick was very chewy and nothing like it should be at all the tikka consisted of small pre cut little blocks of chicken hardly taste the tikka flavour at all I also ordered it with salad the salad was actually about a dozen pieces of shredded white cabbage hardly a salad was recommended I tried and will not be trying again very disappointing on really what should be such a basic meal to get right for a Indian takeaway

We got a takeaway from this restaurant. Ordered via Just Eat. Takeaway did arrive at the arranged time slot. Impressed… until we started eating the food. It was dreadful. The spiced onion had no spice. The kormas we ordered were mediocre and bland to say the least. Safely say this was the worst Indian meal I have had. Would not recommend.

food is great, we waited a while for it even thought they said 15 minutes, it came 30 mins later, the guys in the restaurant didn’t smile or welcome us, even to other customers paying a lot of money and spending time in the restaurant, working in hospitality comes with being able to be positive and kind and friendly to customers yet we had none of this. not one smile off any of the employees.

Took my husband for his birthday tonight and not the experience we were hoping for. We were the only people in the restaurant and although it started off well, the service went downhill quickly. We had our starters and then I had ordered pilau rice with my main and my husband had ordered plain rice. However, when it arrived they both looked and tasted the same even though the waiter stated mine was pilau rice. When i queried it I was told by another waiter they were training the chef and it was a mistake and I was brought some pilau rice instead - I explained that the waiter had served it as pilau rice and was told he was being trained up too. After our meal my husband was still finishing his drink when we were presented with the bill. I paid it and tipped 10% since this is considered normal practice, but then we were told the staff wanted to go home and basically asked to leave! We accept it was 10.15pm but the restaurant opening hours were until 10.30pm and hadn’t even been in there that long. I now wish i hadn’t bothered tipping since I have never felt so pushed out of a restaurant before! A very disappointing experiencing since although the food was okay the service let it down so will not be returning. I think they need to train the manager on good customer service never mind the chef and waiter on the difference between pilau rice and boiled rice. We will obviously be celebrating my husband’s birthday somewhere else next year.

Superb Indian Restaurant in the beautiful market town of Garstang. Visited here several times when we have been walking in and around the Lake District. It’s so worth the detour on our journey home and it has been known for us to drive the 30+ miles to the restaurant from home as the food is soooooooooooo good. Sabza isn’t licenced which allows you to bring your own drink to the restaurant. We’ve tried several dishes, including Peri Peri Chicken, Shashlick, dhansak, biryani, Thai akbori and more. All very tasty, I think my favourite is tarka dhal. Booking is essential especially Friday and Saturday. Sabza also provide takeaways which is very popular. Highly recommend.

Great service and great surroundings . Nice food and pleasant staff . No alcohol license but you just nip next door to the pub for whatever alcohol drinks you require .

I have never been treated as abysmally in an establishment as I was this evening. I have lived in Garstang for over 10 years and tonight, myself and my partner decided on a takeaway from Sabza. I placed an order to be collected at 17.40. When I arrived, there was one table seated and myself. I approached the bar/till area and spoke to a young man to confirm my order. He disappeared to the back, so I sat on a stool next to me and waited. He returned and said, verbatim: "It's going to be 5 minutes, go and wait outside, there's seats there." He didn't ask, he told me. I thought it a bit strange and didn't much want to sit outside on my own on a Bank Holiday Sunday night in the cold and wind, but did so. Five minutes pass and nothing. While outside, I was treated to the delights of screaming drunk people around me, some of whom began throwing each other through the doors to the restaurant. Ten minutes pass - a restaurant worker obviously doesn't like the fact that the glass doors were wide open from the drunk people being thrown into them and closes the doors, all while leaving me standing there. Now the icing on the cake - while I've been cast outside like a leper, other people who have placed orders for collection are stood inside the restaurant, away from the cold, waiting for their orders - one couple, then a fella, then another - the last straw came after 15 minutes of waiting outside in the cold with nobody saying a word to me. I go back in and asked the guy who ordered me to wait outside why he did it when other people were allowed to wait inside, to which he replied: "I thought you'd prefer it out there..." I'm not a dog, why on Earth would anyone prefer to wait outside in the cold, surrounding by drunks, fighting on a Bank Holiday weekend? I got no answer so another man asked what was going on, I explained - then the young guy said: "She was only waiting outside for like 5 minutes".....Oh wow, when your own receipt is time stamped 17.40 and it's now 17.55, and you think that's five minutes.... It goes from bad to worse when this new guy says: "The thing is, we ask people who have takeaways to wait outside because it's very busy in here on Saturday nights" To which I replied: "That's absolutely fine, except it's not Saturday night, there's one table in here and I was the only person who was told to stand outside and I'd like to know why." I've never been treated so disgustingly in a restaurant in my life. I still really want to know why they specifically treated me in such a disparaging manner. I was nothing but polite until I'd had enough of being treated like a dog. Do they routinely have problems with completely sober, 40 year old women in flowery hats? I'm honestly at a loss.

Very quiet Monday night eat in. Food really really good. Prawn puree to start - excellent Lamb bhuna, peshwari naan, Bombay potato - top notch. Shame it’s not licensed, but you can bring your own. Well done Sabza

The food is fantastic, tasty and very well thank prepared. However the customer service is very poor, for takeaway, as to get a table here is difficult as it is so popular in our town. Lateness for delivery, an hour for our latest, just completed a hattrick. Phoning the restaurant does not help, promises of some kind of discount and gaurentee of a table are maybe empty promises to quell complaints. The owner Fuad provided his personal number to ring, however he is running a business and cannot be too lavish with promises, as that cost comes out of his own pocket. I would recommend the food but be warned that delivery service has been poor. I have not ordered from here for quite some time because of the service.

Really good food. Poppadoms were oil free, the chicken tikka chat was very tasty. The chicken tikka jalfrezi was rich and spicy and the peshwari naan was probably the best I’ve ever had. The naan was so light and fluffy, really amazing. If I lived in Garstang I would be here at least once a week it was that good. The service was also excellent. Didn’t know it was alcohol free but that was fine as the food was just so good.

Visited the restaurant a few times and the food and service as always been faultless. Delicious, fresh and extremely well presented. The service has always been friendly and very welcoming. This last visit we ordered a takeaway and received it quickly. The food was tasty as always however I feel it is much better eating in at the restaurant for the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Firstly have eaten here numerous times and the food has been outstanding and normally the service. We were with my elderly parents and one suffers with onset dementia so a little patience is needed however the waiter approached our table to take the order, we asked for a wine glass to be exchanged to which he was point blank rude , pulled his face and basically had bad attitude and mood . The other members of staff and owner were great however this guy spoilt our evening and he then suddenly appeared and plonked the bill on the table which we didn’t ask for incidentally, then counted it in front of us then asked if we wanted the change. Keep it you #### and take a course on how to improve your service and manners
