What a fantastic find on the mezzanine of the newly renovated market hall on a damp March afternoon in Scarborough!! A little taste of Spanish cuisine and wine in a fab venue at incredible prices with a very lovely proprietor. Whilst we didn’t have the time to do so, we loved that you can also buy excellent looking wines from the shop and enjoy in situ for only £4 corkage if you want to enjoy something different to the delicious house Rioja. If we lived in Scarborough, it would become a favourite haunt. Hope to be back again soon.

Superb food and good coffee. A delightful find in the market hall mezzanine. Also a great selection of Spanish wines and sherry. Varied and inventive menu with vegetarian spins on Spanish classics available as well.

This is a little gem. The food is simple authentic Spanish food cooked to perfection. The prawns were fat and juicy and gorgeously garlicky, the patatas bravas are just perfectly spiced and moreish, the anchovies deliciously salty and the bread is lights and crunchy. The coffee is great too. The owner is charming and deserves to succeed. I am always leave looking forward to my next visit.

Popped in for lunch and absolutely loved it! Food was so fresh and tasty; chicken tosta was amazing, as was the chicken casserole. Good value too. Will definitely return.

Such a fabulous tapas place, it reminds of the markets in Spain, which always have super tapas bars. Inez's food is superb and it is a wonderful atmosphere up on the mezzanine floor, with a view of the castle, and buzz of the market below. I have taken many different friends here and they have all loved it.

My husband and I were visiting Scarborough for the few days and spotted Sabores when we were looking around the market. We are both vegan and noticed there were a few vegan options on the menu. We ordered the hummus, potato bravas and the pan con tomate. My husband had a glass of red wine and I had an oat milk latte. The food was nicely presented by friendly staff. The lady serving asked our opinion on her homemade, vegan garlic mayo (which we can confirm was very good). Liked the atmosphere of sitting on the upper level of the market overlooking everything. We will definitely return when we are next in the area.

Not sure what the ‘avoid like the plague’ review was all about as myself family, and other that were dining at the same time had a fantastic experience. I’d ignore this one. We had omelette and Greek salad which were both amazing and you can tell made with love. Staff / owner very friendly checking in. Good coffee too 🙂 Thank you

Worst Tapas ever... We had 5 plates, 1) Olives... These were quite bitter lemon and herb, for £4 it would have been nice to have a variety. 2) corn.... This was crunchy, dried & out of a packet. 3) Hummus... This was the worst hummus i have ever had. It was just barely mixed together, bitter olive oil dripped over, no taste to it at all. 4)Potato Bravos... Oily, no seasoning and a smearing if spicy tomato paste, very unpleasant. 5) bread with a tomato and alioli.. The 2 slices of bread was toasted, the tomato dip was simply tomato flesh.. With nothing else, the Alioli was just not pleasant... £18 what an absolute rip off.... Please avoid like the plaque.

A fantastic hidden gem! I have been visiting Scarborough for many years but discovering this great little Mediterranean tapas cafe was a real treat. The food was delicious and well worth waiting for, being freshly prepared from authentic ingredients and fresh local produce from the market below! We enjoyed a sharing platter and a variety of small dishes with a selection of fabulous Spanish beers that accompanied the food perfectly, a favourite was the Cerveza La Socarrada, flavoured with rosemary and honey! The gallery overlooking Scarborough’s Market Hall is a great location and we were well looked after, and will definitely be back soon to try some of the other dishes!

Tucked away in corner of Scarborough Market on the first floor, this place was a real find! If you want a real taste of something truly Spanish, this is the place to go. Really flavoursome food all freshly prepared (so if busy, like today when we were there, drinking their selection of Spanish beers while waiting is a fun part of the experience) and well worth the wait. Staff we're really friendly, and attentive - if you enjoy relaxed dining with friends, eating, drinking and talking, it's a winner - I would highly recommend!
