Rustica Stanley in County Durham

We had a meal here as we were stopping at hotel 52. We had a delicious meal. The waitress Lucy was wonderful as was the young man behind the bar. They were on their own without the manager and did a brilliant job

The Lamb, Pork and Chicken roast were amazingly tasty! The plates were also large and portions more than enough to fill me up. There was also a free glass of wine offered for our party - which was very much welcomed. The red-wine was average though. The string beans were laced with garlic and were delicious! Service was at hand and speed of service was reasonable. Price wasn't too expensive. Downside: the plates came lukewarm to cold. I like my plates and the food on it - piping hot as if it has just been cooked. The beef roast was tough and I had to ask for a steal knife for my friend. The gravy was "floury" as if the corn or plain flour was not given enough time to cook. They had ran out of cider - perhaps a victim of the supply chain issue experienced by Restaurants 2022 - after COVID. I can recommend - if you just want a tasty roast with some veg in.

What a nice little find. I stayed at the hotel next door and ate here , I had a lovely meal as did my mate he even had two deserts !!!! :)

I had the best Sunday dinner with my family today. The new owners are doing an amazing job, the food is top notch. We were offered snacks and olives on the house after we were seated, had a rich lamb Sunday dinner with veggies, roast potatoes, mash and bacon Brussels sprouts to die for concluded with a delicious caramel brownie served hot with ice cream on top. Bill was presented without unnecessary wait, very reasonable and with a limoncello shot on the house. Definitely going back again

Very slow service, limited menu, food average, had to go to the counter to ask for the bill which was for the wrong table. Head waitress had no idea where we were sitting, had to show her and tell her what we had, bill still wrong, gave up, paid and left. Won't be back

We came here at the weekend for Sunday diner not realising it had just been taken over last Wednesday from the pervious owners who were amazing. It’s nothing like it used to be, the new owners were rude and aggressive and the food was appalling. We came a table of 8 and were disgusted with the service we were welcomed with. We gave them the benefit of the doubt with just opening but we’re sat without drinks for 20minutes. We then Waited over 40minutes to revive our diners, on our plate was- Frozen aunt bessy Yorkshire puddings, cold veg and a few roast potatoes and a lump of meat, which was all fatty and chewy. definitely not your typical Sunday roast. 3 meals were still stone cold and you couldn’t even cut the meat with a knife never mind chew it. The lasagne looked like a frozen microwave meal, it was bone dry and tasteless. The kids pizza was brought out 10 minutes after all the adults had received their food and it was the wrong pizza that has been ordered so was sent back. Near enough every meal was sent back for being either wrong, too cold/ frozen or not satisfactory (lump of fat). After telling them we were dissatisfied with the food we were presented with and what was wrong. The chef came out and started shouting in our faces getting aggressive ripping the meat off our plates getting physically aggressive also infront of the whole restaurant including children and elderly. His wife the new owner was the same, I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life. No apology no trying to rectify the situation or food just pure disregard to customers. A whole table of 15 also left whilst we were in as they were disgusted also. The new owners were rude, arrogant, intimidating never mind the food being disgusting. We certainly won’t be back and I wouldn’t advise anyone else too either!!

Although we only had breakfast in the restaurant due to the fact that it was closed on a Sunday night, this was very good and Hotel52 and staff also very good. Rooms more than adequate for short stay.

We as a couple usually go here for our lunch on a sunday which is wonderful.so we decided to go out for a meal on Friday night and I must say the food was fantastic and the manager is also fantastic very friendly and can not do enough for you always has time for a chat would definitely recommend

Went last night with a friend for a meal. I have to admit it was my guests choice not mine. The last time I visited I vowed never to go back due to long wait for drinks and food and rude staff however, this was completely different. We arrived not having booked and were shown to a table immediately. There were other people already dining and the atmosphere was pleasant. The waiter took our drinks orders and said drinks arrived within 2 minutes. Our meal order was taken within 5 minutes and we were informed as meals were cooked fresh there would be approximately 30 minutes delay and there was a large table waiting for their main courses the timing may be a little over that time. Our meals arrived within 25 minutes and everything was steaming hot and very enjoyable. Well done Rustica the business has been turned around, we will return.

Its a nice place with a good manager, but the price for a sunday lunch has gone right up. Charging over 11 pound for a lunch, we r living in stanley, no sunday lunch should be that price in stanley. People will stop coming.

Staff are rude and show attitude towards customers. They do not serve what is on the menu. It is attached to, but not run by Hotel 52.

We came here this evening (11/03/22) and we really enjoyed our food! We had potato skins and garlic sauce starters and I had the spicy sausage pasta and my partner had pizza. Really lovely guy who served us too! Decently priced also! £77 for x3 glasses of Prosecco, x3 beers, x2 starters & x2 mains!

Very average restaurant with adequate food. Amazed that there was no Italian beer on tap. No atmosphere at all. Would est here again if i was staying in the adjacent hotel but not otherwise

I absolutely love Stanley square, not to mention there amazing food. I love that they don’t just do curries and kebabs, they also do pizzas. My fave has got to be there dinner and chicken tikka kebab - and I love the milkshakes (there to die for). And then for dessert, they do the most amazing cookie dough 😍

Thought I would try here cor a change as it seems To have really good reviews, Food was cold, popadoms were soft and not crunchy , the kebab was wrapped in paper so all the grease had soaked through making the paper rip into tiny pieces when trying to take it off , definitely nothing special and won’t be ordering again

Fuming the most disgusting chicken pakora I've ever seen looks like it's been cooked in the same oil whats been there for years homeless wouldn't even touch it!! Your suppose to get salad and sauce with them I ordered 2 lots and got none they only sent one which I ordered separate with the kebab I will never ever order from here again in fact I would like a refund how are you's on just eat im going to the papers about you's that is vile I've seen nicer meals in a dog bowl im livid

Sadly this must be at least the fourth time our order was incorrect. However we didn’t give them the opportunity to put it right and what was sent was nice, just not what we’d asked for.

Ordered a king kebab - didn’t have any seekh kebab never mind double as it said it would, lamb was poor and there was no way that was enough of a kebab for 3 people as it said it would be - delivery was quicker than predicted and delivery driver was great though

I love stanley square, was always my go to place when I was growing up, food has always been brilliant and staff always amazing amd friendly best place to order from by far, thank you for my order everything was perfection and the fact you travelled to Denton to deliver my order is amazing thank you can't wait to order again :)

Specifically requested no vegetables on pizza and yet, despite the Meat Feast not being advertised as having it, our pizza arrived with sweetcorn. Food did arrive before estimated, however.

I rang up as my order should have come before 5.45 I rang up at 5.50. The guy on the phone stated my delivery was it Hattersley and hung up.. how rude.. my food then got delivered at 6.10 and he said sorry for it being late! My food was cold so I could not eat a lot of it.

Late delivery, only 3 of the 4 items delivered and two of the 3 items were cold. I am now waiting for the missing items to be delivered and the rest of the items are now cold

Waited nearly 2 hours for delivery, 50 minutes late. Had to put in microwave due to food being cold. Not impressed

we happily order from here and pay the extra £2.50 for the quality as good take away shops are few and far between now. unfortunately this evening they gave me a dry kebab with no sauce or salad.. obviously I ordered it with and chilli sauce. also, all our food was also cold which is disappointing as well. 45 mins late too.

The chicken was really chewy and the curry was very bright, lots of food colouring. It was nice and the chips were very greasy. Such a shame, I won’t be ordering here again.

Order updated to delivered at 20:25, called at 20:50 as not received and was told it was on the way. Finally delivered at 21:05 and the curry had leaked over everything. All the food was cold and had to be microwaved. Kebab was inedible as bread was soaked and had turned to mush.

Burger & Kebab nice, cucumber on salad even though phoned up and asked for it not to be. Came earlier than expected! Will order again 🙂

Was very disappointed with my chicken tikka pitta. Unfortunately the pitta bread was soaking to the point of it being just mush, thus being inedible. The milkshakes saved the food quality review being a 1 star :( First and last time I will be ordering. Sorry guys.

Chicken was so soft and lovely, balti sauce had a lovely taste and chips were very crispy. Overall excellent!

This was our second time ordering. The first time I couldn't find any lamb tikka on the pizza despite paying extra for it, but I let it slide. This time we ordered a donner delight, which does not state red onions as toppings, yet it was completely covered in them. What a disappointment, should have been called a red onion delight as I couldn't taste anything else. Couldn't really detect any herbs either! The lamb tikka stir fry kebab was excellent though. Not sure if we'd order again.

always great food. but getting annoyed about being asked about previous orders and not leaving a review. I don't have a problem with the food it's great always but just getting annoying now asking for a review on every order. Your food is great but think your gonna lose me as a customer if you keep asking for a review on every order.

Ordered a Sheekh kebab for me and my friend which was pretty good. The cookie dough was cold and ice cream had melted by the time it had arrived. It was the lack of acknowledgement for being late by the staff that was most frustrating.

Food wasn't great at all, meat on kebab was very powdery and calazone was very oniony, cheese wasn't melted on chips! Food went in bin. Milkshakes were amazing though

restaurant delivered a Donnor kebab instead of my lamb kebab and never corrected the order as they were shut after .. no compensation has been given

BBQ sauce on pizza base both customers said they could not taste. Been charged £2. I sent a note asking for my veggie pizza to be thin base and i was thick and doughie. Let half of it. Really not happy. There is not point having a note section if they do not read it.

good job i noticed before the driver walked off, once again you never sent my pompadoms i paid for, driver said he would bring them “next time” so i asked him for my money back because “next time” is no good. love the curry from here hence the reason i return my custom but its getting a joke now forgetting things off my order each time. £1.20 is £1.20 at the end of the day, use wouldnt let me off for £1.20 so why should i!
