Russells in Rochdale

We went for a sausage sandwich last week it was horrible it was full of fat it was not proper sausage ,it was the worse I have had .

Was Delicious if you go to the front and ask there is a gluten free menu I had a delicious gluten free Tuna Sandwich and salad but they do toasties and breakfast. The Milkshakes are divine. Very welcoming atmosphere.

A really first rate cafe, very very good food at very good prices and a really friendly service.

Took my family into russles for some dinner. After waiting 18 minutes for food I asked the waitress how long food wil be and she replied do you want uncooked food? 26 minutes after ordering, food arrived and was quite bland and not a great deal of it. had to get greggs shortly after. I wil not be going there again.

Order a jacket potato and quiche not cooked right did speak to manager.nothing resolved jacket potato very dry quiche rubbery .got offered a cake which I declined paid 6.75 for it DISSATISFIED..Will not go again ..But good luck..coffee was Brilliant.

Lovely experience at Russell’s my friend and I go for breakfast every Monday and we love it everything is spot on the staff so friendly and efficient they work very hard and keep it nice and clean. Prices are very reasonable food excellent and always a good choice and never kept waiting I can’t fault it at all

Me and my husband had breakfast scrambled egg spinach it was presented terrible it was like they justthrew the spinach all over the plate not even cooked disgusting the place was cold inside staff where in and out takeing chairs inside it was only 12.30 no manners at all

I called in today for a breakfast. I'm on a gluten free diet. They showed me their gluten free menu. That had plenty of options. The meal was lovely. And the staff were really helpful.

Fabulous cream scone, good range on the menu. I was struck by how lovely the staff were. Very friendly but efficient with me and my friend, but so very patient and caring with folks who needed a little support. Great to see in the middle of a busy town. Thank you .

Cozy and quiet cafe in Rochdale town centre, food always excellent and reasonably priced. Staff 100% always happy and friendly and work very hard, a pleasure to visit every time. A message to the owner, you could even think about hiring your staff out to other venues to train them how to be happy and polite to customers as you do have an excellent team working for you🤗

The staff were totally untrained, waited ages for the young girl to take the order then she got it wrong no serviettes was told would bring some but didn't server girl couldn't even work out how much change we needed and the food was tasteless and not well presented . Beverage order slammed on the tray in between her cleaning. A total mismanaged joke

had a delicious sandwich unfortunately however the coffee was lukewarm that is why I only gave four stars

The staff were racist because i was the only muslim in the place. They were having an attitude with me and they were not nice at all. Would never come here again because it was a horrible experience.

Really lovely omelette .lovely staff and my little Rio got a free sausage. HE will be back and so will the owner.

Although service was great and the venue was clean and tidy the breakfasts was not that good sausages and hash browns was hot but everything else was cold

Wouldn't let a 3 year old child use the toilet unless buying a drink. If it was an adult I can understand but refusing a child to use the toilet is inhumane and pretty disgusting if you ask me! The child's mother looked embarrassed what a poor attitude from russells. Let's hope the child found a toilet in time!

Love this cafe and food apart from the quiche, tasted very doughy.

Visited today as service prior always been good and food nice. Very disappointed the girl on the till didn't seem to be competent when asking for something different from kids lunch IE substitute food horrible didn't make a fuss but won't be going back in a hurry

My partner and I came for food and a hot chocolate the other day and we were not disappointed. Lovely staff, lovely food and the drink was Creamy and rich!

Great place to eat nice and friendly large menu to choose from would highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I went to Russels on a Thursday morning and, in fact, the restaurant surprised us. As soon as you enter, you realize how well-decorated it is (don't judge it by its facade). The hot chocolate was delicious (better than many famous franchises), the chocolate cake was ok and the homemade scone was delicious! Great place. Great place to Rochdale town. The staff is very polite!

Very pleasant and clean restaurant in Rochdale Town centre. It was lunchtime, and although busy, service was still prompt. Reasonable pricing as well.

Went for breakfast today with the mrs, staff were very rude. Had us waiting to be served whilst they were chatting and having a laugh. When our food was brought to us the girl literally slammed the plate on the table.

Accused of using fake £5 ( that i was given from their own till) We went here yesterday for lunch, i placed my order and payed with cash and was given my change. I went back for a drink and gave the lady £5 ( from the change of my first order) she commented "this doesnt look real" with a bad attitude i laughed and said its the note you gave me a few minutes ago. I find this very rude wont be going back here

Great friendly waitresses and servers. My minced steak pie was delicious, really good, as were the gravy and chips. Prices are creeping up, like most places.

First time we've been to the new premises but it's typical Russell's. Everything was spot on, food, staff, atmosphere only thing missing was the piano man but background music was very good. Will be going back soon.

Contacted to see if they could fit 15 of us in within 15 minutes and was told yep no problem. Went and they had put reserved labels on the tables, the good was really good and very reasonably priced, will be back xxx

I enjoy going to Russell's the staff are friendly and the food is good

Very impressed. Initial impression - the place was very clean and tables were cleared quickly (a favourite bugbear of mine is dirty tables), service was prompt and pleasant. I had a very nice egg mayonnaise sandwich which was obviously freshly made and came with a small side salad which was just enough, a lovely big custard tart and two cups of proper filter coffee. The prices are reasonable. The ladies toilets were clean - I saw them being cleaned twice during my visit. For obvious reasons I didn't go into the gents! All in all this is a cafe that I will happily visit again.

Visited first time since the reopening and they have done so well with the decor and the arrangement of the cafe! Modern twist on their original look! Enjoyed breakfast with my husband definitely be back again!

Lovely lunch at the New location, excellent fresh food. The young lady with glasses on seating the customers is so friendly and welcoming her interaction is so friendly and kind.

I normally enjoy my time at Russell's cafe but not that long ago I sat down in the outside part of the cafe, I had my own drink because I had been somewhere else previously, when I only just sat down I was rudely approached by a member of staff and this is what she said "you shouldn't come with your own food" at this time I did not have my mask on and she was only a short distance away from my face, I felt way to uncomfortable, I hadn't even opened the menu yet. I didnt even hav any food with me i just put a bottle of milkshake on the table. I felt so uncomfortable that I had to leave. I was looking foward to eating but this experience, especially during covid 19, has made me rethink my thoughts about this cafe.

Always loved coming here. Was a childhood favourite of mine and still is. Food is delicious and prices are brilliant. Please stay open forever!

Edited version - after my review I spoke to the manager Keeley who had in fact been off on the day in question. I wasn't going to bother, but the rude comments allegedly from the owner towards me compelled me to. I realised there was fault on both sides. I had been a little unfair in my comments and hadn't actually approached them to say there was a problem I received a full apology from Keeley and I was happy to leave it at that

When visiting Rochdale this is a lovely place to eat set in the shopping centre with seating in side or out in the centre great food brought to you.

We visited Rochdale recently and although Russells Café is not a regular haunt of ours, we thought we would have a bite to eat. I asked if they did beans on toast as it was not listed on a menu I looked at before proceeding to the counter. Only on seeing the receipt clipped to the display for a member of staff to see to bring the food to the table was I horrified to see I had been charged £3.85 for beans on toast. It is not worth £3.85. If the item had been listed on the menu and I had seen the cost I would not have bought it at that price. Why was it not included on your menu of breakfast items? Your menu is misleading then in this regard. You should list all items you provide. The toast was also medium slice and I am sorry but for this you should use thick sliced or toasty slice as medium is a waste of time. Also , why do you add a bit of salad to this dish? I have never seen that before and its not needed in my opinion.

Just called into Russell's in Rochdale Wheatsheaf Centre I had promised to treat my husband to a breakfast and he really enjoyed it good value for the money and they do a good coffee as well

Friendly and attentive service. Roomy and comfortable. All at a very reasonable price. Had a light snack meal with freshly cooked, crisp, non greasy chips to accompany. Everything beautifully cooked and tasty. Coffee was delicious with an unexpectedly huge cake to finish with. Our meal was brought to us within 5 minutes. We feel nice and relaxed and enjoying watching the world go by in the Wheatsheaf Mall. Many thanks. Will definitely come again.

How you got a review off me when I have never been to your cafe,is very surprising.

Be careful with the hot food and the kids sandwich boxes. The bread was mouldy and the ham was iffy.
