Friendly. Casual drop in for dinner. Very impressed by food. Will go again. The Accra starter was excellent. Good portions.

Extremely disappointed. Staff chatting amongst themselves. Disinterested in customers. Awful service. Food below par.

Delicious Carribbean food. Definitely not to be slept on. Very friendly staff also. I couldn't choose between two dishes so they gave me a combo of the two with no extra charge.

Great for post work drinks or evening catch up with pals. Friendly staff and always a good vibe. Have live music/DJs etc which can be a bit loud so if you are sensitive to the noise, sit near the back. Beer garden out back which is lovely when sunny - total sun trap.

Was in today and the music and food were both incredible! If you know who Gangstarr are you will know how good the food is 🤙 Rakim would definitely approve.

Visited on Saturday and after reading the reviews was looking forward to my visit. Service started off okay but went down hill, given wrong beers and after food was served no one came near us again to see if everything was okay or if more drinks were needed. Had to eventually shout across bar to get the bill. The jerk chicken on skewers wasn't up to much and the coleslaw was bland and in a tiny ramekin. The Goat curry was bland, intact the most flavoursome part of it was the rice and peas it came with. I'm not sure why everyone gave this place such good reviews, would say don't go and ill definitely not be back.

This spot is great for a night out there is also a outdoor area this place has a good vibe and good music the staff are excellent very friendly and good customer service the food is good for potion size personally I think the food could do with more spice but hey being from the carribbean I would say that lol but great venue great experience

Oh crikey, my third review of the Rum Shack!! I have tended to avoid this venue for the aforementioned issues that it had but I was coerced to re-attend tonight A real change!!! Pleasant staff, and really good music, roots reggae, dub, trip hop, lofi stuff, also, not so loud as to prevent conversation General good atmosphere One thing worth noting, there was a loud mouth bam who attached himself to a lone woman in the bar. The staff were really good, checking on him and going over to her when he was in the toilets to see if she was OK Food smelled amazing but I was too busy drinking. Top notch. Keep up the good work!

Decided to have a few drinks here because they have such a large selection of different rums. Never seen so many in one bar before! They vary in price and there’s rums from all over the world. They do have many other drinks if you don’t want rum. The staff are friendly and the decor inside is unique. The food that was coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great! Highly recommended!

Visited the Rum Shack with family and had an amazing experience! I'm Trinidadian and have found very few Caribbean restaurants in the UK that are truly authentic, but I've now added this one to my short list and will definitely be visiting again when I'm in Glasgow. We had the accra, haggis bon bons, jerk chicken, jerk pork and trini style mac pie - and can recommend all these 👌.

went to the Rum Shack for lunch yesterday, and it was great. Food was varied and really, really tasty, the goat curry was splendid. A bottle of Shiraz went down a treat and was reasonably priced, but the hot rum punches to finish off our meal were just heavenly.

Been to the Rum shack a few times. I always have a great meal. Tonight I had tostones which are plantain and cheese balls or banana balls from now on.. this was an excellent dish the rice served with it was delicious. Staff friendly and helpful as always. I can't recommend this place enough. 10 stars.

Great Jamaican dishes with delicious vegitarian/vegan options. Tasty cocktails as well and a vast selection of rums including some really interesting local scottish variants, which are hard to come by outside of Glasgow.

Great food, friendly staff and tasty drinks (with special £6 cocktail offers from sunday to tuesday - the "Southside Sunshine" tastes phenomenal). Huge rum selection (around 100) - definitely try the "Dark Matter", a local Scottish rum, if you like slightly sweet and cinnamony drinks.

Always been a fan of this wee haunt. Normally has decent music on and a nice crowd. Cocktails are tasty! And rum!

Friendly service, delicious food and a great atmosphere. The food is authentic and some of the best Caribbean food I have tasted. I will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu.

We're local and been before several times. The food tonight was outstanding. Curry goat was so, so good, rice was fine. My wife had the jerk fish and chips....loved it. Only minor issue was that the service was a bit disjointed. Not nearly a restaurant service but could be better. Despite this, we will definitely return. Hats off to the kitchen, nailed it.

Southside rum shack authentic flavour packed dishes that make you fell all warm like a big food cuddle loved it ... and not to mention the massive rum selection get yourself to the rum shack !!

You can read magazines, play games and eat delightful food. Recommend the sweet potato fries & the rum and raisin ice cream. Went with 30 year old daughter and 12 year old and had a lovely evening.

Started with Jerk chicken skewers with Sweet Potato Fries which was very tasty, followed by Jerk beef burger which was also great. Finished with Caribbean Cranachan which was excellent. This restaurant is excellent and the staff are very pleasant and attentive.

I have loved the rum shack for a long time no exception. I booked a table at 6 pm. And I ordered the usual jerk chicken and it was perfect plus the staff were kind and my meal came sharp following that I had an Ice cream to top the night of. Altogether It was excellent.

I love Caribbean food but the jerk burger was absolutely cooked to perfection. Me and my family would suggest the restaurant to any fellow Caribbean food lover.

My husband and I found this place on an anniversary trip back to the north west of England. And what a place this is! :) At first we already set this place up as a fail as we often have been at Caribbean restaurants. But my husband is a huge critic being from the Caribbean - he couldn't stop smiling from the time the food was placed before him to the last rice grain eaten! He even ordered extra to take home.The food was amazing and the portion sizes were huge! (For me any way). I wish this restaurant was closer to us (than 4hr drive) as we would be hear every week! @Rum Shack owner - if your ever thinking of setting up another restaurant you'd defiantly give Caribbean's restaurants here a run for there money!Anyone who plans to go to Glasgow - make your plan to eat here!

We had the Jerk Chicken skewers starter. Off to an ok start, decent flavours but the sauces could be better.The mains were not great at all. The Curry Goat was not spicy and tasted over limey, too much inedible grizzle, no accompaniments. Chicken Brown Down was equally disappointing. No spice, it wasn’t a stew as described, more like a dry pieces of braised chicken. However, the accompaniments were good on this dish.

Had arranged with a group of friends to use this pub as the last stop on a charity fun run. As there was a group of us, as always, we cleared it with the management in advance and were assured that we would be welcomed (a dozen or so of us, all wanting food and drink, who wouldn't!?)On arrival, we were refused entry by the jobsworths on the door, even to reach those in our group who were already inside waiting for us.Thankfully, the Allison Arms across the road had no such delusions of grandeur, and welcomed us in.A piss poor performance by The Rum Shack where we are now unlikely to return. Screwing up a charity event is the lowest of the low. Only has one star to allow me to leave this review.Perhaps someone should tell the bouncers that they're not classed as management...?
