Rumours Coffee House in Carrickfergus

Friendly coffee shop, I haven't eaten here much, but what I did get was good. The staff are all pleasant and helpful.

Decent coffee, not the cheapest, no toilets, staff suggested we use Wetherspoon's.

Could not recommend enough. Rumours gave us Soup and a Panini. They were both piping hot and just what we needed for a cold Monday afternoon. Service was friendly and attentive.

Cosy and comforting cafe with exceptional delights and coffees on offer. Homestyle faire and welcoming atmosphere.

Ordered a Vanilla Latte to go from a really polite gent and it was fantastic! I regret not ordering something from the menu, but I am excited to go back and try the food! :D

I had lunch there today, and the toasted sandwich was delicious! Café was very clean and staff friendly. I took home a slice of lemon Victoria sandwich, and it was the best I've ever eaten!!!! I strongly recommend.

Me and my fiancè called into here for a cuppa and something to eat. We got a sausage and bacon bap and it was disgusting i did not enjoy it one bit and the price of what we got was abit steep. Wouldnt go back again

Decent cup of coffee - no fuss sort of a place.

During a day exploring the hills and forests outside Carrickfergus Town I decided to have a nice pick me up, so I decided to try somewhere I haven't been in and that led me to the Rumours Coffee House which is situated opposite Carrickfergus Castle in the middle of the Town Centre. Although it was only a mocha and tray bake, I can say that it was it exactly what I needed and the views of the Irish sea and Carrickfergus Castle really make this cafe a lucky little place. Next time I am in Carrickfergus I'll visit the Castle and then get a nice little treat at Rumours afterwards.

After all the good reviews for the cakes we should have ordered these, instead we had waffles, bacon and syrup. The waffles were very poor quality with a grey appearance and no body to them. They were served in a pool of syrup which had soaked into the sawdust-like texture. Altogether the worst waffles I've ever eaten.

Best paninis and coleslaw! Lovely smooth xoffee and vert welcoming staff and environment.

Well whilst we were walking about in town the rain came on and we darted into Rumours for coffee until the rain has eased .We were nit disappointed at all .. I told the other half surprise me and he did just that by bringing me a large slice of lemon cake .. Lemon cake is quite tricky to find that's nice but look no further this will knock your socks off .. the lemon is so strong and tasty ... mmmmm . The coffee I could drink all day long .... the staff are real friendly.. We will be back asap

This little restaurant in the heart of Carrickfergus is very child friendly. The staff are so helpful. It is very clean, food good and coffee super. Highly recommend.

We popped in here for a quick drink after visit Carrickfergus Castle across the road and had to take our drinks away as we had a deadline in Belfast. There were so many yummy things on the counter but we didn’t need to eat.Both our coffee and hot chocolate were delicious. There’s a luxury hot chocolate which has cream and marshmallows but I just had the standard one which was lovely and plenty sweet enough.Great friendly fast service.

This is a very pleasant little coffee shop - quite old fashioned and a bit dark in decor BUT they do a really good coffee. I have not had food in here apart from snacks. They are very good and helpful with small children.

Great little cafe with excellent food and great service. All their dishes are excellent and they have a fantastic variety of cakes and scones. Overall a very good place and the service is exceptional, only one issue that I do not like is there is sometimes people sitting at the back using bad language or talking about subjects that are not appropriate for a place like this.

was told that this cafe was,dog friendly went along with my shih tzu dog coco was told dogs arnt allowed very disappointed wont ve sack in a hurry.

Despite living in Carrick for 10 years we’ve always walked past Rumours, it’s nothing to look but we popped in for a change and we are pleased we did, the coffee was nice and the cinnamon scones were delicious, and all for a very reasonable price, will certainly be making a return visit.

This little coffee/pastry shop is across the street from the Carrickfergus Castle and serves good coffee. Didn't try the pastries. He even put some whipped cream on the top of my coffee for me in lieu of skim milk.

3 rd visit - the best scrambled eggs and bacon anyway. Staff very friendly and efficient and relaxed atmosphere.

This is a fairly new restaurant to the town centre of Carrickfergus and what a place it is, there must be at least 5-6 restaurants right in the centre of Carrickfergus but this one is by far the best. They lead the way in Customer Service, Quality of Food, friendly staff, great range of dishes, location and you will leave this restaurant with a smile on your face. If they are not the best restaurant in the town centre of Carrickfergus, they are well ahead of who ever is in second place. Well done guys

If it had been open on Sunday, we would have visited a second time! Of all the eateries we visited during our two-week travels in Ireland, this was the best coffee-shop/breakfast experience, reminiscent of what we experience in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. (We have similar rainy weather, so coffee shops are a bit of a thing with us.)

Went there today with my sister Staff are very friendly and very helpful We had coffee and fabulous lemon cake I would go back if only to taste it again Also very reasonably priced

Got a cappucino and a coke for 3,70£ total it is cheap and good service. They have a nice entourage and are worth visiting. We did not check the food as we only stopped for drinks.

I adore this wee café. It quickly became my go-to café when I am visiting friends in Carrickfergus, and has remained so for over a year now- never disappointing! The staff is all lovely and their flat whites are impeccable!

Just popped in for a take away coffee and was impressed. From the beginning I had high confidence in the bloke making my coffee and I wasn't disappointed. A good strong flat white made to a good length.

Took 2 kids here for morning coffee. They had hot chocolate. No complaints from the kids. Service good, pricing normal but stand out was sitting outside in East facing seats and smoking up morning sunshine.

On a very wet morning a number of us from a walking group called in for coffee.No complaints but not the best scones in the town.

Called in on quite a few occasions. Very friendly staff with very reasonable prices and amazing size portions. Highly recommend the red velvet cake with your cuppa. In a brilliant location in the centre of carrickfergus and just across the road from carrickfergus castle.

I am visiting this place very often. I don't normally drink to much coffee. but I drink 2 to 3 coffee everytime I visit there.I like the sandwich toasties as well. also staff very friendly

Wide selection of cofffees whiuch are made quick and presented well. The sausage rolls arnt bad either.

When I arrived it was lunch time, when I asked the extremely RUDE member of staff what toasted sandwiches they do I was told to 'read the menu.' When I finally decided what I wanted it took them 25 minutes to make 2 toasted sandwiches and considering there was only us and one other table (who were already eating) this did not impress us. When it arrived it was cold and the tray bakes we ordered we're stale and they made my husband the wrong sandwich... will NOT be back here.

Visited today with family, 3 adults and 5 kids, the soup and sandwiches were lovely as were the toasties the kids had, clean plates all round, great value as well, the staff were brilliant with the kids and they even got some free cookies for being so good. Great experience, thank you very much, will be back next time we are in Carrick.

I know what you're thinking - TripAdvisor reviews are only ever second hand Nellnews...but I think this one worth reading. This place isn't exactly what dreams are made of, but it would also be wrong to say I'm never going back again. If you were thinking of going, don't stop, go your own way - but the vegetarian panini that I had was well worth a recommendation. The atmosphere and service were excellent - I enjoyed it to the point that if there is bad other than the fact it is cash only, I don't want to know.

I had lunch here today. The cafe is in a great location just opposite the castle and next to two car parks.Service was friendly, helpful and quick and I had chicken salad and a coffee for about half the price of Starbucks. Note that they accept cash only though.

We stopped here after driving the beautiful Antrim coast road for a break before continuing south. We ordered the soup (potato and leek) Cajun chicken sandwich and a filter coffee. At £4.50 for soup and sandwich, it was great value, plentiful and delicious. Service was efficient, friendly and relaxed. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent cafe that is locally owned and serves a great cup of coffee. The hot chocolate is another success. Staff are extremely friendly and the whole ambience is relaxed. A must visit and when there try the scones.

Although we were here only for cappuccino and a sweet, I wish we could have stayed for lunch. Locals near us had the soup with brown bread and it looked heavenly! Nice stop.

Four of us went into this cafe and ordered roast beef sandwiches, presentation was great,they really were lovely and tasty. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Our Offices have just moved to Carrickfergus. Rumours is now my local for for that lunchtime sandwich. I sometimes push the boat out and have a scone or cake.The sandwich is made fresh and with care. It is well filled, and does not fall apart when you pick it up.

Great coffee and wonderful lemon drizzle cake. Fast friendly service. It was great that there were some outside tables so we could sit in the sunshine.

Rumours in Carrickfergus is a great place to call in for your morning coffee. There is a great view of the promenade, its in a very handy place to call in if you are in Carrickfergus.The staff are always friendly and attentive.
