A walk around Tooting and Broadway markets led me to here. The look of the place, menu and staff, as well as the clientele reassured me I was making a good choice. Alas I was mistaken. When cooked with love and happiness Jamaican food can bring to life the humblest of ingredients. But not here. The jerk chicken was somehow extremely dry yet pink near the bone. It was seasoned less than a Sunday roast chicken, where was the heat and spice that good jerk should have, that attacks the taste buds? The goat curry was way more bone than meat, I mean there was literally dry bones with no meat upon them. The bones that contained meat yielded little reward from my picking them up and gnawing them. Maybe the most obvious sign of the sheer laziness and contempt for their diners was the plantain. It had obviously been prepared in another time. If the chef can't be arsed to chop up a plantain and fry it to order, maybe another job would suit them.

I had the yardie box, the mutton on the bone was soft and full of flavour. If I didn't have dentures I wold have been sucking and chewing on the bones . Definitely place to go .

With this place I feel like it’s kind of a hit or miss. I went there once and they had lovely sweet jerk wings and amazing plantain. But the last time I went the wings were dry and the plantain was not thoroughly fried/cooked. The staff is very nice, but I guess it was just a miss that day.

The food on the menu looked amazing, I ordered a portion of chips which was quite overpriced at £4 and this was ready-made chips which were reheated. I think it’s an absolutely disgrace. It seems too much to ask for my money back and go elsewhere. This is not a place I would go against.

First time here by accident, hidden away in The Box Park, Shoreditch. This is uncomplicated Caribbean food but tasty and would definitely recommend it. The salt fish fritters superb, like you'd make at home. Nothing to fault here. A pleasant surprise!

I've visited the Borough Market Food Stand. There were three people at the place, but only one was preparing meals and serving the customers. One person was on the phone and another eating ice cream. When there was my turn to order, I was being called by the finger and welcomed with a "What?". I was then told they ran out of jerk chicken, or wings and only wraps were available. I was waiting for it around 30 minutes, because they forgot my order, however place was not busy The food was lacking of flavour, full of chilly sauce and thats it. The portions size was huge though, the only positive.

First time tried it in Canary Wharf never again - belly was hurting. Got half jerk chicken had one piece and threw the rest

I ordered from Rudies Boxpark last week Friday via Ubereats. I thought i would treat myself and partner to a much needed treat. I ordered the "Dhal Purie" Jerk Chicken Roti and Fries each. This cost just under £30 including delivery fees. £8.50 each for Roti and £4 each for fries. Upon delivery I was immediately disappointed and furious actually; to the thought that Rudies would advertise a Dhal purie roti and send me a wrap. But i thought ok, jerk chicken better be nice. This wrap was horrible, no big chunky pieces of jerk chicken with actual authentic jerk flavour. A bland, cold wrap with loads of salad and tiny pieces of chicken...tiny...with what tasted like jerk seasoning from a jar. Then the fries, portion sized smaller than Mc Ds in a posh box with mixed herbs thrown on them. Not caribbean and not nice! Don't waste your time. Maybe Rudies, you should call your restaurant, "Caribbean inspired."

I've visited the restaurant in East London over 10 times ( service n food 100%) but the Box Park venue seems to be making the same mistakes as Cottons b4, microwaved food without flavour.Food hard,fatty or tasteless

Had the Jerk chicken with Rice n peas. The rice n peas needed a little more cooking, as the rice was still a little Shelly and it was luke-warm, the gravy with the Jerk was watery and bland (ruined the actual chicken). This is such a shame because when I used to come about 8 months ago, the standard of food was so much better. What's happened guys? I felt a tad disappointed to pay £9:50 for the meal tbh.

Great concept at boxpark in Shoreditch . Never been to this sort of place before. Great atmosphere and buzz. Very friendly welcoming team. Good choice on the menu. Very tasty hot food. Great team. Keep it up

We had Jerk Chicken ans plantains, roti, spicy beef Patty ans a Glass of punch. It's was so flavorful and such good vibes in the restaurant. I recommand 100x

If you want to pay £2.50 for a warm can of coke, drop by. The ambience is scruffy. I feel that they aren't really trying very hard, given their prices and the competition in Boxpark. [I didn't eat here]

Vibrant pop up restaurant in Boxpark. Friendly service. Nice cool vibe. Pumping reggae in background. All types in there. Large portions. Salt fish fritters were delicious as was the jerk chicken. Freshly prepared. Food was hot and tasty. Seemed popular. Reasonable prices. All good. If you like Jamaican cuisine they say it is authentic, we all enjoyed it.

We were in Bethnal Green for a comedy show and thought that it would be nice to try the Jamaican food at Rudie's Jerk Shack. We are vegan and so were pleased to see that they had a vegan meal on their menu. The staff were really friendly but the food was bland and watery apart from the plantain, which was excellent. After trying the food, we paid extra for some pepper sauce ( very hot ) to make it more interesting but would have expected the food to have had better flavour without needing the sauce. It is possible to prepare vegan food that has similar flavours to other dishes for that type of cuisine and so we did expect a more flavoursome meal. Our family and ourselves have had vegan food elsewhere in Boxpark Shoreditch and won't be visiting Rudie's again ( sorry to be negative guys but would you really enjoy the vegan meal that you serve ? ).

Went there with my friend after a drink 🥃 had a jerk chicken wrap and it was lovely, reasonable prices for shoreditch. Good food, good service, perfect 👌🏾

Top Floor of the park. Great Vibes. Can easily get full but service is quick and friendly. Deliveroo and UberEats pick up from the restaurant. Perfect for a stop before your night out. Flavoursome food.
