Rucoletta Neapolitan Eatery in City of London, Westminster

Called after an exhibition, just before kitchen closed. Great menu, service and food, even at the end of the evening. Booked back again this week

Decent place. A bit overpriced for the portion so wouldn't really go back again, but to each their own. Nothing wrong with service or the food

What a pleasant family run restaurant near St Paul’s Cathedral. We were very warmly received and given a table on the ground floor. We decided on melanzane alla Parmigiana and a fresh tuna tartare on a bed of avocado both delicious! Two glasses of Prosecco rose’. Perfect. The home made pasta with lamb ragu’ was sublime and the panfried salmon fillet oven finished served with fresh green beans ( Al dente!) very very nice. Abundant portions. The Gavi di Gavi was the icing on the cake. We opted for a light Tiramisu’ and Amaretto affogato coffee. Considering the area of London it was very good value for the money and the service was perfect I WILL BE BACK!

This year too Rucoletta confirms itself as a certainty. Excellent pasta cooked al dente, generous portions and friendly service. If you miss Italian cuisine you are in the right place!

The food is delicious and the service is acceptable. You have to pay for the olives and bread as an appetizer. If you don't need it, just say no. However, the environmental sanitation is not very good, the equipment is very old, and there are flies, even in the basement.

The portion sizes are rather small and the value for money is low. The sea bass in the appetiser was sashimi and not very tasty. Fried calamari a total of five squid rings and 4 small fish. The pasta for the main course was tasty.

How this place passes for an Italian restaurant is beyond me. The food is very mediocre, lacking any flavour, the prices are actually not cheap

The calamari and whitebait starter were satisfactory, but the breaded veal with potatoes lacked any standout flavors. Overall, the food was underwhelming - mediocre, nothing special. Considering the prices and quality, there are far better dining options nearby.

Food and drinks were very good. Easy to find from St Paul’s tube station. We were a group of 6, seated on the top floor. They had a full house that night so it was loud and lively. If you want a quiet corner be sure to ask if they can accommodate you downstairs, or choose another place.

I came here for Valentines Day with my partner to enjoy what was a wonderful and delicious meal. Each dish served was beautifully presented. I myself had the special at the time, a seafood crab pasta, but where the pasta came served in the shell of the crab itself! Absolutely amazing creativity! Staff throughout were attentive, friendly and always smiling. I would highly recommend this Rucoletta which offers authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of London, without paying heart of London prices!

A bit pricey, but good food. Portions are a bit small. The place was busy, but service was quick.

I want to start by saying that I actually brought my girlfriend to this place in 2022 for our first date and we enjoyed the experience. Today however, on Valentines day, our experience was completely underwhelming. When I booked prior to the reservation I wasn't told that there was going to be a limited menu specifically for valentines day, with no option to order from the main menu. We weren't told this as we were seated nor is this on the website. The menu items that were presented weren't great and the selection poor. The mains and the dessert were underwhelming considering we paid £85 for the food alone. It was certainly below the standard from 2022 when we enjoyed everything from starters to dessert. We also asked other people from the surrounding tables and they too were unaware of the much smaller menu and similarly disappointed to have only been made aware that the options were limited after being seated. Overall not worth the money that we spent but more specifically gutted because prior to today's experience I personally had a sentimental attachment to the restaurant :( I don't like leaving bad reviews but if I'm paying over £100 to eat on valentines day I expect better. Please don't do limited menus next time without communicating in advance and if you are I'd choose better dishes.

This is the best Italien restaurant we have ever been at….. and we have to many, also in Italy. We recommend it highly🥰🥰

This lovely little restaurant is in the heart of the city situated around the corner from St. Pauls. A little on the pricey side but it's to be expected for where it is. The food is delicious with almost too many yummy dishes to choose from, with a rather impressive wine list. I thoroughly recommend booking as we were there on a Tuesday night and every table was taken. With good service, this was a tasty evening. We weren't hurried in any way, three hours flew by with good food and a great atmosphere.

Fantastic Italian restaurant in a cute street near St Paul’s Cathedral

We celebrated my son's 21st birthday here with a table for 7. Tucked away on a small side street in the City of London, we found a warm, welcoming atmosphere, excellent food (and we are very fussy about Italian) and perfect service. An earlier review says food portions are small but our experience was quite the opposite. We almost couldn't finish our main dishes but did because they were so good. 2 of us are vegetarian. I had the most delicious pasta with aubergine and scamorza/ricotta cheese and my son had the veg version of a wild mushroom and cream tagliatelle, also delicious. Everybody else had seafood dishes which they were highly impressed with. A bit more than we normally pay for Italian but well worth it. A real treat and perfect for our event. We are so glad we took a chance on this place and will come back for special occasions.

We visited for a birthday party. Great atmosphere and service from the waiting staff. Unfortunately the food portions were very small. For example I ordered steak for my main. It came with 4 small vine roasted tomatoes. No potatoes or side veg. I was still hungry on leaving the restaurant. Most people had a starter, main and shared a large birthday cake for desert. The host had paid £400 towards the final bill. We still ended up paying £75 per head.

Easily the best family run Italian in the City of London. Dishes are freshly made to order and they're tasty and priced just about right. Well worth booking Tues-Thurs lunchtime when it is busiest.

Authentically Italian dining experience. (1) Good variety of Italian dishes (2) Service was prompt and attentive. There are some very good Italian waitresses and willing to engage with guests / we had an Italian amongst us (3) Location is great and in Central London (4) Price is higher than normal so value is a bit on the lesser side (5) Food was tasty although my main dish was a bit salty - the appetizers were good and main dishes had veggie options - although the pasta was a bit too “al dente” for me. Overall a good option for business lunch if you are in the area

A cosy bistro-like Italian restaurant with high quality authentic food andreallygood service. . (Home made pasta - I had the lamb ragu which was delicious and my son and I shared the tuna sashimi with avo starter which was also outstanding). Can definitely recommend Rucoletta and it is well priced for London.

Delicious lunch and charming service for four of us in a congenial atmosphere yesterday - olives, penne arabbiata and lemon sorbet were particularly good. We all enjoyed ourselves.

I came to London and although London is beautiful I’m not the biggest fan of the food here. However if you’re looking for an authentic and I mean authentic Italian meal come to Rucoletta. The food was a 10/10 the staff super friendly! I recommend the lemecello spritz! This is a must come to place in London

The food was delicious! Simple but flavoursome and the service was great! If you're looking for a genuine Italian meal then this is the perfect place.

Excellent Italian fare eclipsed only by the fantastic service we received. Unfortunately, I can’t remember our servers name, but she was originally from Naples and Milan. Very attentive, friendly, and efficient. Highly recommend this place without reservation. (The server worked the upstairs room).

Top five pastas I’ve had in London

If you’re not looking for a highly sophisticated dinner, but rather fancy a decent, simple, though genuine Italian dining experience, then this is the place to be. I took a gorgeous spaghettoni alla Luciana (home made pasta with baby octopus slowly cooked in tomato sauce, olives and capers) as main dish with a nice glass of Frascati wine. The panna cotta was a great dessert. Also worthwhile to mention the flawless, quick and very friendly service. A simple, but excellent dinner.

Really tasty and good type of homemade Italian food. The price is a little bit higher but the quality and service is fast and correct. This was the only restaurant were I've ordered a dessert twice. Panna Cotta, I highly recommend! If you are already the Bank district, I recommend to go!

We had one of the best experiences dining at Rucoletta. Having a good time in a restaurant is not just about good food it’s also how well looked after you feel, the food was fantastic and I’m certainly making more reservations here! Frederica is exceptionally talented not only did she make informed recommendations by sharing unique features about a dish, how it can be paired with a wine and even how it is sourced but she is also extremely customer centric that left us feeling absolutely at home with our feet up! Thank you Rucoletta and dear Frederica ❤️ I felt absolutely loved, well fed and will always have fond memories of this evening!

Been there for many years. The food is still as good as before but the sizes of the portions keeps getting smaller and smaller with prices going higher and higher....! I left the place a bit hungry.... and a bit disappointed.

Dropped in for an early evening meal with my wife. Really enjoyed our meal, great service, wine selection and all in a very welcoming atmosphere. Would highly recommend if you’re in the city and want to avoid the big restaurant chains.

A lovely small Italian restaurant, who's staff were very accommodating and allowed myself and my family to go to the quieter downstairs area. Wonderful food, and perfect portion sizes. Spaghetti and clams were very nice.

This small, independent restaurant was a great find and we will definitely be coming back. Conveniently located on a quiet street near St Paul’s the food was superb and the service was excellent. A special mention for Odette, our waitress, who looked after us so. She made us feel very welcome and gave excellent advice on the menu

The food and flavours at Rucoletta were great. I can't fault the vegetarian pasta dish with aubergine. Pasta is made in house and you can tell. Bellisima! What's lacking is value for money. The aforementioned pasta dish is in the region of £19 and the portion size leaves you hungry. That's not very Italian at all. The starters were delicious as well. The tiramisu was okay however didn't stand out from others. Plus chocolate chips on top are a strange addition. The panna cotta was the best out of the desserts I tried.

With an authentic, varied and seasonally changing menu coupled with excellent, friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere and a central and easily accessible location, Rucoletta offers an outstanding dining experience far above the routine offerings of some Italian restaurants. They have a large seating capacity, spread between 3 floors but without losing any of their ambience. Perfect for lunch or dinner.

Outstanding food from appetizer through dessert. All their pasta is homemade and delicious, their fried prawns appetizer was great.

Good food and service. Do be aware you're unlikely to be seated under the atrium. Narrow, trattoria-style room with bare tables is the norm, from what we could see. But do come for the food. Friendly staff.

Cosy, unpretentious, quality dining experience. Especially loved the ragu on pappardelle - richly satisfying.

We went there given the positive reviews, but unfortunately we were disappointed. Service for was good, but food wasn't and overpriced. We had the tagiatelle with salmon and burrata. There was barely burrata on it and few tiny pieces of salmon which looked rather like rests. Starters were ok, but overpriced too.

Lovely little place with a very interesting menu, great service and good wine. Particularly liked the pasta special. Would definitely recommend.

Avoid if you're vegan or vegetarian. Almost all meals that were signposted as vegetarian had cheeses that use animal rennet (like parmesan). One starter and one main were suitable for vegans and thus for vegetarians. Both are tomato based. They did taste nice, but it's a bit boring when other places provide more options.

Went at lunchtime today to celebrate our daughter's birthday. One waitress had an unpleasant manner, mixed up an order with no apology and was impatient and abrupt. We have enjoyed going several times before but won't be going back.

Another leisurely late lunch here, where you are be left alone to eat, drink and catch up without being chased out. Service was good, food great and atmosphere welcoming & comfortable. Its good Italian food in the City of London so not a budget eatery, but Rucoletta is a place I am very happy to recommend and return to.

Nice Pasta and service! , amazing desserts. The roof isn't as beautiful as the pictures suggest.

The food was good but not amazing, not great value for the price. The restaurant space was quite tight and it’s hard to get the attention of staff. The bread and olives are nice, with a few different types of bread like seeded and some containing nuts. The starters were big enough to share but the ratio of vegetables to the portion size was too small which lead them them running out quickly. This pattern follows with the mains but the dish was well cooked in all. The best part was definitely the dessert. They were light and not too rich with the show stopper of the Tiramisu. I would recommend this place for a more relaxing dessert and wine evening hangout.

I visited for lunch on a weekday so I only ordered a main. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. I ordered the fresh flat pasta with braised lamb neck ragu’ slow cooked and it was absolutely divine. The flavours were so delicious I would definitely order the dish again. I would like to visit this restaurant again and try some of their other dishes including their starters and dessert. I would definitely recommend this spot.

This was an authentic Italian place with beautiful food, fast and kind service.

Have not been to this gem in a while & my visit last night reminded me why I love it so much. The staff are great. Had the Risotto Zucca e Salsiccia - delicious. Washed down with the Pinot Grigio that was very good too. The friends I introduced to Rucoletta loved it. What a fab evenkng we’ll all be back soon.

Had good expectations for this place but it was poor. Place was empty, but despite having plenty of staff they were not attentive or very friendly. Bruschetta was burnt, sea bream had a bone left in it, Capri cake dessert was dreadful - 2 tiny...

We stopped for lunch. Great food. Be careful if the waiter suggests bread and olive while awaiting for your order. They were unreasonably over priced. We should have been warned!

The concierge from the Leonardo Royal recommended the Rucoletta Italian Restaurant. I ordered the special which was a half of lobster on spaghetti. The lobster was great but I could have had a bowl of the spaghetti by itself. I can’t find the name of this special and I’m back in the United States and would love to know what type of sauce was used. It is absolutely amazing. Thanks, Annette - USA

Fantastic Italian food in the heart of the City. We go pretty much weekly as a team, and the food does not disappoint!

The most exquisite tiramisu I ever had! Mariana was our Waitress and she was amazing! Pasta was great as well but I can’t stress enough how good the tiramisu is!
