From the outside the restaurant looks like a quaint local Indian Eatery. It's only when you get closer, you see that a number of letters from the sign outside are missing and the chairs and tables used for outside eating are stacked Infront of the windows. Walking in, the tables and chairs looked dated and old. But none the less we'd arranged to meet friends there to say down. We were sat in the corner next to piles of boxes and highchairs. Overall the service was good and food very nice and fresh and plenty for the 4 of us. **Note** if you are using a taste card like we did (50% off total food bill) they request payment by cash. This is not listed anywhere on the taste card website or on the restaurants website, and when I called to reserve a table and informed them I had a Taste card, there was no mention of this which left 2 friends embarrassed as they only had a card. The evening was lovely. I just wouldn't choose to go there again.

First time visit with my wife, really worth it. The food was next to the best Indian food I've ever tried, the service was friendly, waiters were chatty and very eager to provide a great service. One of the waiters (Shiras if I remember correctly) was our main waiter and was quick, friendly and approachable which is what I value. The food was great and very reasonably priced, not like those overly priced Indian restaurants and the music was pleasant to listen to whilst eating too. Also got free condiments which are always a treat. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family and visiting again very soon.

I can honestly say this is one of the best curry's I have ever had - I took the waiter's recommendation and it paid off. We went back to Ruchi for the fourth time as we enjoyed the food. Our previous trips had not been perfect...(white wine served lukewarm and, when we mentioned it, the waiter just added ice-cubes to our glasses...another visit included a long wait for service while staff dealt with seemingly endless take-away orders...) but still the food brought us back. I had just driven 2 1/2 hours and popped in to the loo. My daughter also used the loo. (The loo was dirty and the floor filthy.) We then sat at our table and waited...and waited. No one came to serve us or offer us a menu. We asked for a menu ... and waited ... and waited ..the manager (I recognizsd him from photos of the many awards he had received) was sitting on the table next to us on his facebook!! (A simple meal for two with wine is over £40 which I don't mind paying for if the service is good but this was not service of any kind.) Remembering the long wait we had had before while staff dealt with takeaway orders I told my daughter we were going. We got up to go and the manager then raised his head and seemed surprised. I said we had waited a long time to be served and we left - my daughter was behind me. When we got outside she told me that the manager had said "You just came in to use the loo!" I went back in and queried this. He said "Well you both went to the loo..." I told him we had not just come in to use the loo and in fact it was our fourth visit. I looked at the waiter (who is usually very chatty) for approbation of this but he just looked down. So we left and I said I wasn't happy with the lack of service compounded by the rudeness of the manager and that I would be writing a 'review'. I took one of their leaflets from the stand for the details. The manager physically tried to stop me and told me to "f..k off!" The whole incident was nasty.

Last week after months of threats by a friend of mine, she eventually took me to this place as a must try. We decided to eat al fresco although there was quite a cool breeze. After the ritual of having poppadums, she insisted I try a speciality dish called Momo consisting of minced meat and spices wrapped in pastry, served in a special sauce that you don’t find very often elsewhere. She also warned me that they didn’t make the best ones and as a matter of fact she was right. The flavour was good but the pastry was quite thick and mostly uncooked and the waiting time was also considerable ! (By the way I should mention that she is an expert of Indian cuisine). As a main following her suggestion and unusually for me I went for the non Vegetarian Thali consisting of Tandoori chicken, sheek kebab, lamb rogan josh, chana, raita, saag, chicken massala, pilau rice and nan. While my friend went for the Vegetarian Thali consisting of Vegetable korma, baghan, aloo gobi, tarka dal, saag chana, onion bhaji, mixed raita, with poori and rice. Both of us tried each other’s dishes as well and I must say, apart one or 2 dishes, the rest was excellent. Saying that, it is not that the couple of dishes that I was less keen on were bad, it was just me being picky. At the end we both enjoyed the meal very much and the good thing was that we were left very satisfied without any greasiness lingering on the palate as one may experience in some other Indian restaurants. I would like to thank my friend for enabling me to get closer to a cuisine that I don’t normally eat and which deserves more respect from me, as it is amongst the top cuisines in the world. The price tag wasn’t high either. The whole meal plus a large bottle of mineral water came to £ 32.I give 4 as rating but you should read 4 ½ ..

We stayed nearby so we happened to drop in for a dinner on reference and it was a good choice. The restaurant serves typical Indian dishes and they perfectly matched the expectations, including poppadom and naan bread. The dinner for two with some beer was well under 40£. The environment is cozy and staff friendly and quick.

This is a great place to order takeaway from. The food is simply delicious! I love indian food and always chose to eat here when in the mood. When you order takeaway, they provide you with a nice order of pop-a-dum with 4 great sauces. Also, if you spend £20 you get a free beer and with £30, you get a free bottle of wine. My wife and I rarely eat in the restaurant as the atmosphere is average. The service is very good and quick. It's a neighborhood favourite.

First saw the restaurant en route to the recycling centre nearby and decided to give it a try that evening. So glad we did! Small in an intimate rather than uncomfortable sense and with very friendly staff. However, it's the smell of the cooking that draws you in even when you're half a street away! This place serves some of the best Indian food I've ever tasted, hands down. Chicken Balti was particularly delicious. Prices also very reasonable (dinner for 2 with beer and wine came to less than £40). Will definitely be going back in the future.

Terrible. We paid by Amex and were told the transaction was void. We paid on visa and it went through. Then both transactions show up on the credit card bill. We call the restaurant to ask for them to refund the error and they flatly refused and implied we were liars. Disgusting behaviour and patently stupid, given that we have a statement showing both transactions, and will simply do a chargeback via the credit card company. Don't go near this place!
