Ruby's of London in Tunbridge Wells

A slice of heaven! The best coffee in town and the cakes are to die for. My Nan & Grandad couldn't believe the cakes were 100% plant based, said they were better than most cakes available these days. So good to see a vegan business absolutely thriving and everyone enjoying it. If you haven't yet tried i'd 100% recommend it. If you have already been, you'll know just how good it is. Only negative thing to say is cash is not accepted, a bit of a strange move but each to their own. Cash will always be king.

This place is amazing! It’s all plant based and you wouldn’t know it! The spinach and ‘cheese’ pastries are to die for. Will absolutely visit again.

So pleased we came across Ruby's. Lovely plant based bakery. We had very tasty cheese toasties with onion marmalade followed by a huge piece of delicious pistachio and raspberry cake. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. We'll definitely be returning.

Wasn't aware this was a plant based eatery, and was hugely impressed. The food and coffee were excellent. Opened my mind to how delicious plant based alternatives can be.

Grabbed a cupcake for takeout to beat my afternoon snack crave, but didn't expect to find something so tasty and lush. Absolutely delicious!

This place is amazing! Such a beautiful space, wonderful service and the cakes are absolutely delicious! My omni friend had her first ever vegan sausage roll and was blown away by how good it was. This cafe is an absolute delight and if I lived closer I'd be in all the time.

I popped in here for a savoury takeaway snack, an Italian style non sausage roll - delicious, the pastry melts in your mouth. The ladies who served me were very welcoming and friendly. The place is spotless and the cakes are a feast for the eyes! Next time it's coffee and cake to eat in for me. My pictures don't do it justice. Just Fabulous!

A bit expensive for the portion of the food , but because it's all vegan , so I kind of understanding 😀

Love everything about this place and feel very lucky to have such a great cafe in Tunbridge Wells. Really friendly staff and the most delicious cakes around. They are also extremely accommodating for our small dog. Can't recommend Ruby's enough!

the best vegan cakes and treats by far!!

My friend & I had a Beautiful fresh & tasty Vegan/Plant based lunch last Saturday here. We had a sausage roll & small quiche with a choice of 2 salads each, both were a sooo good & great value for money. I have been here a few times before & all the savoury food & cakes look amazing & being 100% plant based are a real treat for Vegans. The staff are always super friendly & helpful too, I asked if my fruit smoothie could be a bit more fruity & have some ice added, & it was not a problem at all….nothing is ever too much trouble. I will continue to visit here when I visit Tunbridge Wells & recommend it to everyone I know:-)

The coffee was delicious and the cake was generous and looked beautiful. My daughter had a milkshake which she seemed to enjoy. It's all plant based but in a very integrated, matter-of-fact way so I didn't particularly notice it.

My mum & I had a lovely experience here, the window display looked amazing & I was so excited that everything was Vegan:-) Our coffee and cakes were excellent, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It is so great to have such a choice of beautifully presented Vegan food delights & I will definitely be visiting again with my husband in tow.

Both my children want to order their birthday cakes from here and we’re going back for more treats today as we have friends over this afternoon. Such a find! Can’t recommend more highly. Such a gorgeous cake shop and cafè. I stumbled upon this little gem a couple of weeks ago whilst shopping and looking for a place to get a coffee and vegan cake. All the cakes in the window looked amazing but none were marked vegan so I popped my head round the door and asked "do you have any vegan cakes? " "Everything is vegan" was the reply! Such a great marketing strategy. Not labelling everything "vegan" or even having any clear sign of it being all vegan means that EVERYONE can come and buy the cakes without judgement because we all know that the word "vegan" in front of any food will instantly repel some people who are convinced that vegan food is all horrible. This way the food is judged solely on it's own merit. Ingenious! Anyway, I was lucky enough to meet Ruby herself who had popped in to help out. She has two shops now, this one and one in Greenwich, London where she started out at Greenwich market in 2010 (she actually does not look old enough! ) and all the cakes and savouries are baked in house in her own bakery in Tunbridge Wells. They make gorgeous Birthday and Celebration cakes to order too. Give them a try if you're ever nearby. The Chickpea Chuna sandwich was amazing! As was the carrot cake. 👌💚🌱

We used Ruby's of London for our wedding and had the best experience. We ordered a red velvet wedding cake and a selection of doughnuts and cupcakes that we stacked as a tiered tower. Not only did they look and taste amazing but the team were so helpful and communicative throughout the whole process. I would 100% recommend and look forward to using them again for the next celebration!

All Vegetarian Cafe ,but very very tasty. & I am not a vegetarian. Everything is prepared on site, pastries & food . They also make beautiful cakes to order , I think. . I love the coffee . All very scrumptious

Popped into Rubys for coffee & cake, was greeted by the talented Ruby herself,such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Fantastic customer service, so lovely to have seen Ruby progress from her market stall where we first met her to now having 2 shops. We will be back soon!

We were tempted in by the delicious cakes in the window and we weren't disappointed. Between us we had a piece of banana and passionfruit cake and a piece of raspberry and pistachio. They were both really good cakes, very moist and tasty. I hadn't realised it was a plant based cafe, and so tried almond milk in my Americano instead of my usual dairy choice. It was lovely coffee. Card only was my only issue as I wanted to pay cash and couldn't. I'd recommend.

I have visited 3/4 times since Ruby's opened. It is very nice and reminds me of some of the very nice cafés and bakery cafés we used to have in Towns in the 1970s, such as particularly Zona's (near where Halford's/Maplins used to be). I visit regularly and added another picture there are power sockets about but no Wi-Fi the salads pictured is lovely. There is more space than using Amelia across the road and I like it better.

Staff were lovely + very helpful! Huge range of plant based cakes, drinks & breakfast + lunch deals with some of the best vegan grilled cheese we’ve had. Pricing is completely fair for a 100% vegan cafe! Will definitely return

Did not realise at all the first time we went that it's a purely plant based place! Everything is always delicious and it's family friendly too.

We found a tea room in RTW with a nice ambience, but the praise stops there. When we asked for scones, we were laughed at. We could not get any milk for our tea, we were treated as if we asked for arsenic, how dare we! We received this horrible milk substitute that you could not use in your tea, so we had to take the rest of the pot without milk. The cake was so sweet that it was nauseating and inedible and literally brought tears to my eyes, I left most of it.

The best vegan and gluten free cakes I've ever tasted. Also lovely staff. When's my next excuse for cake!?!?

Ruby’s is an entirely plant-based café experience which does not compromise on quality or flavour. Frankly, you’d not be able to tell that the cakes are plant-based. I’ve had hot chocolate with all the trimmings, various cakes and savoury items as well as coffees over the months and I’ve never been disappointed. The ambiance is relaxed, often with soft jazz playing in the background, and the staff are wonderful.

On our recent visit to Tunbridge Wells, we had a delightful visit at Rubys of London. The cappuccino was amazing with oat milk and the vegan treats divine. The staff at Ruby's was extremely service excellence focused and filled with pride for their local upscale Cafe. Cheers, Spicy Jan

I wouldn't come here again - definitely not for a cake. I tried the chocolate/salted caramel one and it was just way too sweet.

Coffee was bitter and undrinkable, plastic cup for the water all filthy dirty, supposed fresh water bottles all unsealed and other. To top it all £3.50 for a sausage roll. Won't be going back again.

Incredible! I feel my family discovered a secret slice of luxury with Ruby's. Don't be fooled, Ruby's is completely vegan. This is not something that actively promote as apparently it puts people off. Visiting for Sunday brunch, the atmosphere was relaxed and there were plenty of seats, including highchairs, available, so no need to book (if that is possible). Ruby's has gorgeous décor and the food is presented beautifully, making a decision different. I went for the breakfast sausage roll with the potato salad and beetroot and feta salad. My wife had the mushroom quiche with the same sides as me. For drink I opted for the stunning vanilla milkshake while my wife had an oat milk flat white. Our son had honey on sourdough and an apple juice. The sausage roll was flakey, hot and flavoursome. Honestly, I don't know what the difference would be in taste between a breakfast sausage roll and a non-breakfast one, but it was great! The sides were good and my wife enjoyed her quiche. We were unsure of what the base was. It seemed more crispy potato than pastry. The sourdough was a little tough for his 21-month-old teeth but my wife and I enjoyed it. The apple juice was a real hit, although he loves to chew paper straws. The total cost was £30, which was reasonable for a high-end eatery. Unfortunately, we were too full to enjoy a dessert but returned a couple of hours later. This time we got a slice of chocolate salted caramel cake and a raspberry cheesecake cookie. These were a little disappointing and not to our tastes. However, we will certainly be returning for brunch and to try another sweet treat.

Had a very good espresso on arrival in Tunbridge Wells and ,based on our observation, returned after shopping for lunch. Delicious salads with crispy savoury pastry tarts. The pastry, we were told, got its crunchiness because it used potato in the flour.. Meal completed with scrumptious cakes. A very satisfying peaceful lunch in Tunbridge Wells.

12/10 cakes and customer service, I made an enquiry for 2 cakes to be delivered but my post code was out of the catchment area, after speaking to Alice she kindly resolved this issue and I managed to get the 2 cakes I wanted, Alice was very helpful and kind, Alice went above and beyond to get the cakes to me, this has got to be the best customer service I’ve ever received, and for the cakes wow they were amazing, the best vegan cakes I’ve had, we fed them to non vegans and they didn’t have a clue and enjoyed them, one even said it was the best carrot cake they have ever tasted. The cakes were moist, fluffy and flavoursome. I will be a customer of ruby’s for life. Thank you very much for everything Alice hope you had a great Christmas and have a great new year, I will be placing another order soon.

Absolutely love Ruby's of Tunbridge Wells. The breakfast sausage roll is the best sausage roll I've ever had. All the cakes are delicious. I especially love the salted caramel and their new cupcake with berries on. All the staff are lovely and very good at being able to suggest options if one isn't sure. The whole palce is a bright airy space and perfect for a bit of sweet indulgence, lovely lunch, or even a take away if in a rush.

Good cakes but totally disorganised! When entering the cafe you are meant to stop at the first counter where you can only order food, you may not order a drink as well, then at the next counter you may order a drink but you may not order any food. If you should get this wrong you are then told to go back and rejoin the queue and do it correctly. There are absolutely no signs or organisation to inform you of this. Today this was just not working! Every other coffee shop in town you just order at the same counter and job done everyone is happy, but not here! I won’t be going in again, todays experience totally put me off.

I love Ruby's of London it is such a great and amazing cafe the cupcakes are really amazing and tasty and the customer service is really warm and welcoming and great . My most favourite drink is there passionfruit lemonade which is to die for

We popped in for a light lunch and weren't disappointed. We had two portions of cake which were both lovely and a smoothie. Excellent choice. We only found out once we had finished rhat everything was plant based.

Been here several times since this opened and introduced several friends -- always a hit, people always comment how delicious the food is!

Since it opened, I have to stop myself getting cupcakes every weekend - they are the best I have ever had. We have had 2 big, celebratory cakes from Rubys which went down fantastically well with the family (hence the 2nd one!), and were really easy to order on the website. Will continue to be in there every so often for a weekend treat and any upcoming celebrations.

Amazing food, drinks and service

Very nice staff, very comfortable seating and beautiful design which makes you feel like at home. This was my first time here and I ordered the Vanilla Choc Chip Milkshake which was superb and a brownie (Everything is suitable for vegans)

I had really good coffee and a sandwich but a bad milkshake. Like if you drink a cup of milk for £5.5 Nice decor! Good range of cakes

I love pink and it was the pink writing of the caffe name that got my attention, from the outside it seemed clean and bosh. The cakes looked scrumptious and what little food was on display appeared healthy and flavoursome. Unfortunately the inside felt caster phobic and due to the small space the tables were occupied with customers busy on their laptops, the staff were very busy doing 🤔 so we couldn’t find an empty table to sit. I hope next time we can get to sample their hospitality and delicious cakes.

Popped in as we could no longer resist the glorious selection of sweet treats in the window and we weren't disappointed! Raspberry cheesecake stuffed cookie and caramel apple crumble muffin we're both delicious. The muffin had pieces of apple and had quite a light texture which was pleasantly surprising. The cookie, cake and an oat flat white came under £10 which was more than reasonable. However I did pick up an OJ but promptly put it back after seeing the £4 price tag but there's definitely more reasonably priced bits on the menu

Tried this coffee shop while in Greenwich and I told my husband "it would be nice if they opened a shop in Tunbridge Wells". I was so happy when I found they did. The place is bigger and closer to where I live. The cakes are delicious! The coffee was okay however. But I will definitely come back frequently.

I took my family here for a drink and a cupcake my daughter is gluten wheat and dairy free so it was lovely to be able to take her somewhere where she was able to enjoy nearly anything she fancied on the menu a very rare treat. We all enjoyed the coffee, hot chocolate and little cakes I purchased but.... Two coffees, one mocha, one hot chocolate and three cupcakes came to £36 It was very expensive. This will certainly not be a regular haunt for us but a very rare treat.

I loved Ruby’s stall when I used to live in London and I am so pleased that she has opened a shop in Tunbridge Wells. It is a light, bright and airy space with really welcoming staff. I was impressed by the a of gluten-free options, its fantastic to have so many gf choices. I like that the selection changes daily so you can always try new flavours. Overall its a lovely cafe, very welcoming and delicious cakes.

First visit this morning.Very pleased! Helpful welcoming staff and lovely light and airy surroundings.Ordered Latte with oat milk which was delicious and a breakfast sausage roll. The sausage roll was amazing!! Lovely light pastry and a lovely filling which was tasty with lovely texture which left you wanting more! Will definitely return and can’t wait to try the sweet options!!

Amazing atmosphere, bright and airy with a lovely array of cakes on display. However overpriced for a small portion of salad with a quiche that tasted a little stale. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
