Have tried them all around here But ruby spice is by far the best, Sometimes delivery can be a little slow but what can you expect if it's the best around!

Have used Ruby Spice for over 25 years, simply put one of the best in Croydon. Every time we moved I made sure it was still able to Ruby Spice delivered to the door. Food is amazing and the staff friendly. Has an open kitchen so you can watch you food lovely been made in front of you. Unfortunately we have now move 150 miles away, but anytime I'm back in Thornton Heath I will be going straight to Ruby Spice to get a gorgeous curry.

Nice food, good for a local reasonably priced Indian if you are in the mood for it.

One of the best Indian Take aways around! The food was tasty and moorish, the service was good. The hygene in this place is FANTASTIC, there is a reason why this place scores so highly in their food hygene scores, top marks don't do it justice. If you want FRESH, DELICIOUS takeaway from a CLEAN place, look no further this IS THE PLACE TO GO. 2023 Update * Its been several years since my 1st review, the food and service have been consistently TOP Quality. I ordered before they got my order wrong was very rude but food was nice. I collected that time as it was snowing.I said let me give a second go. I waited nearly 2 hours I called after 1.5 hour and asked how much longer please as you said an hour. he was so rude I couldn’t believe it he said I told you I had to do something you have to wait another 40mins. Then hanged up. I called back he said you keep asking so much questions delaying when all I asked how much longer please. Never will I ever order from here again. Really need to learn standard manners.

Reliable local takeaway. Good value, no surprises. I normally stick to the classics and am rarely disappointed - lamb dishes, sag aloo, etc... great naans too.

Good food and more healthy than other takeaways I recommend it but only problem I wish they open a bit earlier other than that there are no complaints

The most awful Indian I have ever eaten. Mushroom rice was pilau rice with burnt mushrooms that had been added on top. Chicken korma was swimming in a very waterey Korma sauce definitely not how a korma should look. Bhindi bhaji wasn't cooked through properly to the point the okra was still slimey and the whole container swimming in oil. Peshwari naan was extremely dry, cold and had a tiny sprinkle of coconut on one part of the bread on the edge. It may as well of been a plain naan. And the onion bhajis were so oily that the brown paper bag they came in was soaked and split when I picked it up. Never ever ever again!!!!

The food is delicious. Delivery driver delightful. But oh my God... the manager is the rudest man ever. I ordered a delivery yesterday and paid by card. They took the payment twice. Rather than give me the cash they owed me when they delivered my food, I was told that they'll take the money off my next order. When I asked for the money instead I was told they didn't have any cash as they had just opened. I called my bank to cancel the second payment but they could only reverse the transaction as it was a visa card payment. The money was back in my account. The bank advised me to call Ruby Spice to let them know so they won't claim it. Which I did. This afternoon, I checked my account and could see Ruby Spice had claimed both payments. I called to ask if I could have cash back but he refused. Saying I could make another order. He also laughed and said its only £13 and that it's peanuts to him. He said I must call back in a couple of days. I'm so upset because he is a very difficult man to deal with. I will never, ever order anything from this place again.

Delicious food! Have been customers since it opened over 20 years ago.

Not impressed, saw him use his dirt cloth which he was wiping down the side to mold my kofta. Everything went in the bin.

Been coming here for 10 years and the food is always consistently delicious, friendly staff I moved out of the area and still only drive here it’s that amazing highly recommend the chicken tikka masala, lamb tikka samosa lamb , but in all honestly I could list the menu but these are my favs

When I rung to ask why my food was an hour late I was told it had been delivered ( and not to me ! ) The man hung up after I asked him to describe who picked up my order !! Thereafter they then refused to speak to me when I tried to figure out who in my building took my order.

Their delivery driver brought food to my neighbour and decided to steal my son's BMX in the process. The restaurant owner far from being apologetic stuck up for the thief. If they have so little scrupules about other people's property, you can just imagine what they would be like with your food...

Absolutely exquisite food and definitely one of the best Indian take away Iv ever had. Iv been to restaurants that don’t have better quality than here and with no doubt I always recommend this place to everyone I know. If you’re passionate about food this is the place for you.

Awesome takeaway curry joint. Amazing value and the portions are huge. We’re all Vegan so ordered a range of the veg curries and sides and they were all so delicious, non-greasy and super-fresh. Thanks Ruby Spice we’ll be back 🥰

Order from here many times just seems to be going down hill, everything lacks flavour and very watered. Wont be getting anything from there again.

Food was fine but beware they would only accept cash at the door on delivery. This is unacceptable as this puts customer and driver at risk.

Extremely poor and disgusting customer service!!! Before even ordering we we're told that the traffic in our area couldn't be delivered too due to the 'assumption' that there was TRAFFIC. We we're then told to call back later as they we're busy and then hung up on!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would be more than happy to! Unfortunately that is not an option!!! LOST A CUSTOMER!!!

Just called up to make an order, with the service I had just received I’m very disappointed! The customer service was terrible the male on the receiving end of my phone call was answering other calls while I’m mid ordering and had the audacity to respond to me saying “pardon I’m confused” with “your taking too long to order” this is utterly disgusting. I’m over the age of 21 and he stated I’m not taking orders from a child. This has left me disgusted I will never order from this restaurant again!! Rude customer service !!

Have been ordering food with these guys for a couple years now and we are NEVER disappointed! The food always arrives hot, on time and is absolutely delicious. The staff are very polite both over the phone and in person. We honestly couldn’t suggest a better Indian takeaway.

I have been ordering food from this place for many years, today I ordered and they got my order wrong, accept that mistakes can happen, they sent me a chicken curry instead of a prawn curry, I rang and they excepted fault Then sent me A prawn curry 45 minutes later and had the audacity to ask me back for the chicken curry, I rang the restaurant and asked them if they expected me to wait until the rest of the food and gone cold for my prawn curry !!! I intend to go into the restaurant and pay for the chicken curry and vowed never to use them again, you would expect some common courtesy after all the money over the years they have taken from me

Dropping standards :( The first time me and my partner ordered from here, it was decent. But today, we were disheartened by the food and poor customer service!! My girlfriend found a piece of hair in her food and when we called them to ask for the dish to be changed, we were told "it was probably your hair!" We will return to our local...The Spices in Croydon!

Fresh, hot, delicious, authentic, affordable not-greasy and simply the best okra (bhindi) I have ever had. I grew up in South East Asia, so had brilliant India food from an early age, and I put Ruby Spice in my top 3 in the world. It beats - for example - the Tiffin Room at Raffles in Singapore.

I’m new to the area and have eaten from this establishment a few times, the chef/owner is really friendly, top service! Food is fantastic, I must say I’m a fan of his chicken biriyani, try it if you get the chance!

Absolutely amazing food, even basic samosa is freshly home made. Very clean cooking facilities which just adds up to confidence having a take away from ruby spice. Recommend to everyone to try this authentic and delicious food:)

Base on review we decided to order from ruby. Sorry to say it was a disappointig experience. The ordering was terrible, I understand if you are busy, it's no reason to not listen to your customers order. Let's forget that, I was expecting a great curry, for our family it was average and doesnt deserve a 5 star. I don't know what people had before. My biryani rice was ok but in my curry sauce were potatoes that were old, and that's not ok. There for I am sorry but you lost me there as a customer. This is our personal experience, we tried at least.

Best curry take away in South London!! The food from here is always as good or even better quality than most restaurants I have been to. Staff are always helpful and friendly and always happy to help. Portions are very generous too. I would highly recommend this establishment. I've been using this place for many years now, never had a bad meal.... amazing place. You will not be disappointed.

This is the second time I'm ordering from these guys first time was amazing food arrived 15mins earlier then expected which should be right considering it's only a 10-15mins drive away. But today I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed at their service. I was told they were busy so my food should arrive 1 hour from when I called. It has now been 2.5 hours and still no food. This is complete bullshit! I have tried to be calm and patient and not loose my cool but this is unacceptable! I have called 4 times as well and was told the delivery driver will be there soon each time.

We must have order at least 20 curries over the past 2 years and I can safely say that 19 of them were outstanding. Great variety, try the house specials...they are fantastic. Everything is cooked so well and the price is very reasonable. Having eaten in lots of curry houses across London, this takeaway is without doubt one of the best! Ps. So disappointed. Called to place an order for a collection. The man on the phone was very abrupt and really sarcastic. I can only eat one curry unfortunately due to my allergies. I ordered a korma but ended up with a madras. When i called to tell the man this I got a terrible response and was told I got what I ordered and basically it was tough luck and I would have to pay for another curry. Never ever ordering from there again!!!!!!!!
