1st time ordering. Butterfly terrible wouldn't order again. Onion baghi greasy popodum not crunchy soft. Everything else was OK. People on the quite rude. Not the bespoke customer service.

Great value! I ordered the Meat set menu for 2. Basically got everything from starters to main, sides and salad. Driver went extra mile to find my flat. Overall, good food and was packed properly

Ordered again, first time in several months.Delivery time was long ( over the hour advised), but food was still hot & tasty and will use again.Given a 5 for atmosphere but did not visit.

As always the food was absolutely fantastic!!! full of flavour, fresh ingredients and reasonably priced for the high quality and standards of food received. We have been using Ruby's for years... I highly recommend to others 10/10, best curry in Thornton Heath by miles.

Whilst the Tandoori Chicken was very tasty, the prawn curry was awful. No flavour. Just king prawns and onions. Tandoori starter was also very tasty.

Popadoms was stale It was over an hour late, the restaurant when I called them was rude and the food weren’t that much to scratch, and it’s so disappointing because I’ve had it here before and it was lovely. If you can’t do the demand of Just Eat, then I would not use them because it’s making you look bad as a business. Such a shame

Staff are friendly..The food is alway's on time, piping hot and really delicious. I have been ordering from Ruby Spice for quite a few years now and they never disappiont.

The food was so tasty, i would certainly recommend this cuisine it was exquisite. We ordered chicken tikka biriyani which is by far the best i’ve ever tasted. The veg curry that came with it was packed full of flavours too. The samosa was big and flavoursome. We all thoroughly enjoyed your food tonight. Compliments to the chef. Thank you very much.

The food was excellent, delivery driver courteous but 20 minutes wait outside the hotel means I will not be ordering again which is such a shame.

Have used Ruby Spice for over 25 years, simply put one of the best in Croydon. Every time we moved I made sure it was still able to Ruby Spice delivered to the door. Food is amazing and the staff friendly. Has an open kitchen so you can watch you food lovely been made in front of you. Unfortunately we have now move 150 miles away, but anytime I'm back in Thornton Heath I will be going straight to Ruby Spice to get a gorgeous curry.

One of the best Indian Take aways around! The food was tasty and moorish, the service was good. The hygene in this place is FANTASTIC, there is a reason why this place scores so highly in their food hygene scores, top marks don't do it justice. Curry was very watery. No flavour no taste. Packaging was damaged and curry leaked everywhere which made the naan bread wet and soggy

Normally food lovely with plenty of meat. Peshwari naan beautiful and butter chicken really good. Unfortunately lamb was not tender and very tough. Won't put us off though - we've had plenty of lovely meals from here before !

I ordered before they got my order wrong was very rude but food was nice. I collected that time as it was snowing.I said let me give a second go. I waited nearly 2 hours I called after 1.5 hour and asked how much longer please as you said an hour. he was so rude I couldn’t believe it he said I told you I had to do something you have to wait another 40mins. Then hanged up. I called back he said you keep asking so much questions delaying when all I asked how much longer please. Never will I ever order from here again. Really need to learn standard manners.

The food was late and when I called no one picked up On the third time someone picked up and try to flog me off by saying the driver is on his way I asked what time will I get my food as it was 10,20 and my food was due at 9.40 and he replied very rudely saying the driver has left I said No apology for being late or for not picking up the phone When the food arrived 50 minutes late it was cold and the meat in the biryani was inedible as it was too tough and chewy and ended up going in the bin I have been a loyal customer for years but tonight was very disappointing

Too 1 hr and 22mins for food to be delivered, even though it’s a 3min bicycle ride. Food is very bland and doesn’t taste authentic at all. No spice, minimal flavour. Extremely disappointed.

The food was lovely, but it came cold, when I called to see why the food was late, I was told its cos I live so far away, and could I not use them again, tbh am shocked! I am ten mins drive away, and the restaurant did not have to take my order. I won't use again as it was over 30 mins late on delivery, but the food and value for money was great.

i have used this restaurant several times and never had a problem (which is the only reason why i have given the thumbs up) but this time the food was not great...nann bead was cold/poppadoms were like cardboard and the main meal was just about warm enough and delivery was late. very disappointing.

Would have been nice to have received the kids meal drink otherwise was good.

The most awful Indian I have ever eaten. Mushroom rice was pilau rice with burnt mushrooms that had been added on top. Chicken korma was swimming in a very waterey Korma sauce definitely not how a korma should look. Bhindi bhaji wasn't cooked through properly to the point the okra was still slimey and the whole container swimming in oil. Peshwari naan was extremely dry, cold and had a tiny sprinkle of coconut on one part of the bread on the edge. It may as well of been a plain naan. And the onion bhajis were so oily that the brown paper bag they came in was soaked and split when I picked it up. Never ever ever again!!!!

Chicken Tikka was tasty as was the tandoori chicken wings. The lamb in the balti curry was a bit chewy though.

The food is delicious. Delivery driver delightful. But oh my God... the manager is the rudest man ever. I ordered a delivery yesterday and paid by card. They took the payment twice. Rather than give me the cash they owed me when they delivered my food, I was told that they'll take the money off my next order. When I asked for the money instead I was told they didn't have any cash as they had just opened. I called my bank to cancel the second payment but they could only reverse the transaction as it was a visa card payment. The money was back in my account. The bank advised me to call Ruby Spice to let them know so they won't claim it. Which I did. This afternoon, I checked my account and could see Ruby Spice had claimed both payments. I called to ask if I could have cash back but he refused. Saying I could make another order. He also laughed and said its only £13 and that it's peanuts to him. He said I must call back in a couple of days. I'm so upset because he is a very difficult man to deal with. I will never, ever order anything from this place again.

I want to preface this review by saying I’m a bit of a fussy eater. The restaurant in my opinion can only be flawed for one thing regarding their food and it is their excessive use of onions. That for me killed the biryani and the lamb korma. It might be an acquired taste but personally I wasn’t a fan. Food arrived hot and promptly (That said I do live somewhat near the restaurant so it would of been worrying if this wasn’t the case).

Food wasn’t up to the usual standard tonight. A bit disappointed. Naan was cold and burnt, poppadom soft, biriyani was not great either. They’ve done better.

Poor service, called the restaurant to ask when my food would be delivered, the person was very sharp and rude and hung up on me. Then, the food didn't get delivered for around 30 mins after expected time and when I asked for them to contact the delivery driver he dismissed this and simply said the driver will be there soon and put the phone down. Very poor customer service etiquette. The food was lukewarm only. The chicken tikka was sweet and so was the yoghurt dip. We enjoyed the tarka Daal and the biryani. I won't be ordering from this restaurant again as the service was so poor.

Not impressed, saw him use his dirt cloth which he was wiping down the side to mold my kofta. Everything went in the bin.

Food late, no salad or sundries that usually come with side orders.

Ordered a Chicken Madras which arrived as a flavourless container of red water. The boiled chicken was one shade away from pink on the inside and the watery sauce just slipped off it leaving me with plain chicken. The bread was so greasy it dissovled the bag it was in and covered all the other contents in grease.

The best Indian takeaway in the area. Food arrived on time, well packaged, no leaks . It was hot, fresh and very tasty. I always intend to keep half for the day after but I cannot stop myself eating it all it's that amazing!

Have used them for years. They sometimes seem to have an 'off' time (maybe new chefs?) but this is rare. Delivery can sometimes be a bit on the late side but worth the wait for the lovely food.

Delivery arrived on time. Driver maintained social distancing durin our horrid times. The food was great. Recommend the tandoori hot wings. I will definitely order again.

Been coming here for 10 years and the food is always consistently delicious, friendly staff I moved out of the area and still only drive here it’s that amazing highly recommend the chicken tikka masala, lamb tikka samosa lamb , but in all honestly I could list the menu but these are my favs

Food was an hour late and the driver was expecting a tip which he clearly didn't receive. The food wasn't like the authentic Indian which we are used to. The meats were overcooked and curry was tasteless. I wouldn't recommend or order again.

Delivery driver was awesome. Very friendly and helpful. Our drink had accidentally been missed and he went straight off and got us a bottle of coke. Definitely appreciated to wash down an excellent curry. Thanks :)

Despite ordering at a later time the food was fresh and delicious and delivered hot and earlier than predicted which was nice.

Another excellent meal all cooked to perfection and delivered on time. Chicken Jalfrezi is perfect for those who like a hot and spicy fix.. If you think Samosas aren’t your thing then you haven’t tried Ruby Spices freshly cooked Samosas, all very tasty but the chicken are totally delicious.

Food was very nice for the most part, however the naan came sooo tough I’ve never had naan so bad. Would not order that again but the curries are decent

A true Ruby hidden in Thornton Heath. Have had take away from here many times and my Aunty has been having take away here for over 10 years but this was the first time we ordered thru Just Eat and it was just as good! The samosas aren’t as big as they used to be but they are still the tastiest you can get in London and totally worth it.

I'm so happy to have found this place! There are so many Indian takeaways and there are a few decent ones out there but a great one is not easy to find. As a chef myself my expectations are quite high. Ruby Spice is reasonably priced and their food hygiene is 5* which unfortunately for other places is not often. (When you order from a place that only has 2 or 3 out 5* you know that they aren't handling your food as they should.) I only found one great Indian takeaway in London before but that was ages ago and I live far from there now. So now that I have found Riby Spice I am excited that I will be ordering Indian again more often. The food I ordered was amazing. Really flavour some, very nicely made. Even at the late hour of my order. I enjoyed the food very much and took my time with it so I can enjoy it longer ;) If you want great food, this is where you can get it from! Definitely will order many more times and do recommend to anyone wanting a lovely experience.

Food was good however it was delivered nearly 50 mins after it was supposed to be. Ordered 3 dishes at 6:37pm and it was delivered 8:25.

Ruby have delivered late to us in several occasions now and they don’t bothering updating your order to let you know it’s late - so you have to just wait, never sure that it’s coming. My Dopiaza was a completely different dish to previous Dipiazas ordered from them. Rubbish curries and lousy customer service. We definitely won’t be ordering from them again now.

When I rung to ask why my food was an hour late I was told it had been delivered ( and not to me ! ) The man hung up after I asked him to describe who picked up my order !! Thereafter they then refused to speak to me when I tried to figure out who in my building took my order.

Really disappointing. The food tasted really good when we ordered it before; but we pre-ordered hours before they opened - so we should have been near the top of the list... after 30 minutes later than they said. Which was 1 hour 10 minutes after they opened... we called the restaurant and they weren’t even apologetic. Won’t be going again.
